Shauna talks about the tin on bars a lot but everyone looks at her like she's crazy so she mentions it less and less. The current officer on duty at all times is the only one she really has contact with. Like, whichever one is on duty. She's seated on her cot and she's looking a little pale, having not been out in the sun for awhile. Bitches.

While Malachi is usually out on the streets patrolling it seems like today they have other plans for him as he changes place with whoever was here before. Talking with whoever was here before and getting instructions before settling into a chair, glancing to see how Shauna is doing. Water is offered if she doesn't have any. Of course not in anything she can use to hurt herself or others, or escape with.

Looking up, Shauna gives a shrug. "No thanks." She's not talkative at the moment except to ask. "You got a smoke?" Short and to the point.

Malachi shakes his head. "Sorry, not at the moment. But if you are nice, I might get some for next time I'm in here." He suggests and smiles. Setting the water to the side then. "Malachi." He offers to her. Taking a seat and looking into where she is. "I can offer company though?"

"Nice? I've never been accused of that before." Bending a knee, Shauna props a forearm on it and watches him between the bars. She knows he could easily get her name from the paperwork so she doesn't give it. "That some sort of Biblical name? Or more Children of the Corn?" A brow is arched. "Something tells me you have no choice in the company. You're as stuck back here as I am, just yours is for less time."

Malachi shrugs, "Both, I guess." He doesn't seem to go for the paperwork, to check her name. For now at least. Chuckling at her words. "Perhaps, but I am sure I can get out a lot more from being in here than you." Noting the details about her. Which leg and arm that is propped up. How her facial changed when she raised the brow. And if there are any dimples as she speak. Which side she prefers to lean, anything off about the cell. Each detail counted.

Left leg up, left arm propped. "Yeahh. I think I just said that about you getting out before me." The repetition of him adding the same just has her shaking her head. "What made you want to be a cop?"

Malachi shuckles, "Didn't mean by leaving. Meant in here." Shrugging about him being a cop. "I like learning things, and I like seeing patterns. Such as which hand is someone's dominant. Takes a few minutes sometimes." He says and smiles. "Always enjoyed solving mysteries, or at least understanding how something has happened."

"Patterns? Why? Does it help solve crimes? Or are you not that kind of cop? Do you write tickets?" Shauna is bored with life on the inside, but some things were a necessary evil.

Malachi smiles and nods, "It helps. Currently I am a traffic cop, yes." He tells her. Studying her. "Well then, where in Ireland are you from?" He asks in return.

"Who said I was from Ireland?" Shauna does her best to keep any accent from her voice most of the time. "So you read the file I s'pose you know that already."

Malachi grins, "While you are hiding the accent it does seem like there are the curl of your tongue and so on, when you say things." He suggests. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." He offers, grinning. "Also you're red haired, a lot of small details. Maybe known that you are not originally from the states." He suggests. Leaning forward. "And I might not even have been certain, but you clarified it for me. Could have been Icelandic or Scottish." He suggests. Grinning as she gave herself up.

"Statistically speaking there are more with black hair that come from Ireland than red hair. And I've become good at hiding my accent so I believe you looked at the file." Not that she gave anything up that he couldn't open a folder and learn.

Malachi grins and nods, "Yes, but statistically there are also more red there than in most places around the world. And as I said, how mouth moves and mannerism suggests british, and more scottish or irish." Shrugging some. "It's not the accent, per say. The file would help." Another smile and shrug. "So, want me to read your name or prefer to actually let me know you?"

"Dude. Don't act like you know anything about me because you read some shit in a file folder. Or you think you can read lips or something. You don't know shit about me." Shauna looks to be getting her temper up.

Malachi smiles. "I'm not saying that I know you, I don't." But it got her worked up. which usually makes someone able to learn more. "" Eyes trying to check dominant hand. "I am just asking. Though clearly something is off." He suggests, since she responded so violently.

Shauna is just a violent person most of the time. Ask the Captain! She doesn't move from her position, forearm still on her knee. "Off? You don't consider sitting in a cell with hardly any sleep to be problematic?"

Malachi nods, "It is." He agrees. Shrugging though. "I'm not allowed to join you, but otherwise I'd stay in there with you." He suggests and smiles. Not seeming to mind any violent tendencies. "Let it out." He offers as he sits down.

"Oh you can come in here. You don't have to worry about me trying to break out there's a million locked doors between here and the exit I'm sure you don't have the keys for." Shauna shrugs. "You can be scared. It's alright."

Malachi chuckles, "Against the rules, I think." He offers and smiles. "Why would I be scared?" He asks as he tilts his head.

"Why wouldn't you be?" Shauna counters immediately. "I'm in here for a reason."

Malachi nods, "True. And I am here for a reason." He offers and smiles. Key set down, not going in yet. If at all. Moving to stand against the bar, in reach of her.

Green eyes flicker up towards him. "Are you testing me? I've never been much good at tests."

Malachi smiles, but shakes his head. Offering his hand. "Not really, just wanting to greet you like a person, and not a caged animal. Even if the latter might be true as well." Teasing her a little though.

"Fuck. You." Shauna looks away. "Not one single cop gives a fuck about anything outside their own fucking cage they keep themselves in. Everyone is in a cage. Mine just has bars."

Malachi chuckles. "True. Even when you can seemingly go anywhere." He agrees, not explaining further though. Stepping back some. "Well, I'll be around so feel free to join in whenever you want."

"Yeah, okay." Shauna isn't really up on all the glimmer stuff. Maybe some is dormant inside her, but she's definitely not explored it.

Malachi nods and smiles. Not really pushing any glimmer stuff, for now. A smile offered though. "So, what fun things do you do?" He asks, just talking some.

"Public intoxication, disorderly conduct,, reckless driving, trespass, failure to appear. Resisting an officer?" Shauna reads off her rap sheet.

Malachi chuckles and nods. "Fun. Almost think you enjoy our company." He suggests. Shifting some in his seat.

"Resisting arrest. Resisting an officer. Same, same. Wasn't always here in this jail." Shauna shrugs.

Malachi nods, "Fair, but still. Seem like you want to be in jail." He suggests, watching her some. "At least you are free spirited."
