Text

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : How long's it gonna take you to make good, Nine?

(TXT to Sparrow) Yule : Newspaper says your curiosity will be satisfied today, Cards. What's tumbling around in that inquisitive brain of yours?

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : Wondering what clever men like you get up to on pleasant Saturday afternoons.

(TXT to Sparrow) Yule : Draw three cards. Take a picture of them and send it to me. Tell me what you see, and I'll fill in the blanks.

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : IMG: three cards from the same watercolor-painted deck: Two of Pentacles, Six of Swords and Queen of Swords.

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : We start where we started last night. Might not LOOK like a carnal card, but it is. He's thinking filthy thoughts. Trust me. But that's the beginning. The possibility. Connection, compatibility.

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : The six is a card of action in the what should I do about it spot. You should travel. Go. Do. Take the initiative. And leave behind whatever other bullshit's bringing you down.

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : And the queen at the end? Clever as fuck. Sharp enough to keep up. If you put out the effort. See step two.

(TXT to Sparrow) Yule : A good interpretation of the cards. I'm no tarot expert, but I've had to research it in the past. I'll fill in the gaps.

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : And tell me why you've had to research tarot in the past. Cuz, yeah. Intrigued.

(TXT to Sparrow) Yule : The juggler? He's also about adaptability. Like the fact a guy goes into a bar to enjoy a scotch, only to have to figure out how to handle the bright red curve ball tossed into the pile he's keeping in the air.

(TXT to Sparrow) Yule : The Six? Travel. Middle card, so in the present, right? To act. Sure, the easy thing to say is it's to get together and see where those carnal desires of the first go, but that ignores the third. And the last one? That's the one that really attracts my eye.

(TXT to Sparrow) Yule : Not just witty, but astute. Seeing trouble when you are faced with it. And you? Seem like a whole bundle of trouble. But you don't deal with it by dodging it... you deal with it head on. Clear and directly. Brings us back to your question, too. I'll tell you precisely what I plan to do today, and you'll come find me at one of those places I travel to if you think you can keep up.

(TXT to Sparrow) Yule : Work. With my profession, you have to figure out a lot of crazy stuff at times. Sometimes? That means researching things like tarot.

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : Alright.

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : I'm game.

(TXT to Sparrow) Yule : Saturday. Start off with coffee. Spend a couple hours driving down whatever random roads I turn on, enjoying the fall day. Stop in Hoaquim, at this little dive of a burger place I loved as a kid. Head back to Gray Harbor. Stop by the book store to see if they have anything interesting. Go for an afternoon run in the park. Head back to my place, shower, then sit outside of the trailer to enjoy a bit of scotch.

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : Do you always have your days mapped out so well or is this for my benefit?

(TXT to Sparrow) Yule : See card one. Adaptability. I have a list of things I want to do. It either happens or it doesn't. But today? I put them in sequence for you.

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : Where do you get your coffee?

(TXT to Sparrow) Yule : Today, Espresso Yourself.

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : How wide is my window if I want to catch you before you leave?

(TXT to Sparrow) Yule : Long enough if you want to see me before I leave.

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : I do.

(TXT to Yule) Sparrow : There is absolutely nothing on my Saturday agenda that sounds more appealing than a couple hours going nowhere in particular.

(TXT to Sparrow) Yule : Best way to find new things is to not be looking for them, I've found. See you soon.
