"No, seriously. You need to exercise. At least a little bit. Come on." Evie tugs on Alison's arm, literally dragging the redhead out of the trailer park and into the cool air. Evelyn, for her part, goes for a run every day and it shows in how she's got a short-sleeved gray t-shirt, a pair of black athletic shorts that cover as little as possible (to prevent overheating, ostensibly), and a pair of pink tennis shoes. Blue hair has been pulled away from her face and into a neat little pony tail.

The difference today is that Alison is being tugged along. Evie is smaller but determined, and she actually exercises. Alison's concession to her was a matter of time. It's persistence that turned out to be key:

"Come on, run with me!"

"No."

"Run with me!"

"No."

"Please come for a run with me?"

"No."

"If you don't I'll-"

"Fine!"

And so the two of them set off. Mercifully, Evie sets a light jogging pace to start rather than forcing Alison to actually run the whole way to to someplace like the Pizzeria.

Alison protested, alright, and no small amount. As she'd told the blonde a few days prior, she hadn't really exercised since high school. Not that she'd needed to - her frame somehow managed to stay tiny despite her intake of mostly garbage food. But she doesn't really have any muscles, not used to running or anything of the sort. So the idea of being dragged along with Evie's really not her cup of tea.

But if anyone was going to convince her to actually get outside and do something, it'd probably be Evie. That doesn't mean that she didn't complain about it a whole lot, up to and including the actual run itself.

Alison's wearing a t-shirt (big surprise), though her usual jeans are swapped out for some ratty old shorts, plus some downright ancient looking sneakers rather than her usual Converses. She neglected to do anything about her hair, however, and is paying the price by having it constantly blow into her face.

"Why do you even go running, you don't need to! You're so pretty!" Maybe compliments will get her out of this. Can't hurt to try.. and it's not like she's lying, either.

Alison's keeping up at the slower pace, not exactly panting, but she's pretty clearly unconditioned for this sort of physical exertion.

"A lot of the best places you can't get to unless you hike," Evie replies loftily. "That's the first reason. Second is endorphins. Exercising makes you feel good. You can't help it. One hundred percent out of your control. Trust me, once you've gotten used to exercising you won't want to stop."

The blonde speaks to her redheaded companion cheerfully, showing no sign of relenting. Not to complaining, not to compliments. She's just going to keep up the slower jogging pace alongside Alison for as long as it takes to get all the way down Elm toward the Pizzeria.

"Besides, exercising has fringe benefits, you know? I love going to the gym. I always have." Evie shrugs and lowers her voice to a whisper as she adds, "You might even like it if you try it. No, really. And we can go camping sometime..." Laughing, Evelyn pulls ahead slightly, pacing Alison while allowing heself to stretch her legs slightly.

Alison grumbles at Evie's rationalizations. "Best places my ass. Don't need to hike to get to the pizza place. The waffle shop. MY BED." She keeps on doing her best though, but her form's totally wrong. Her arms don't swing like they're supposed to when you're running, her legs kinda.. go too far backwards. And with how short she is, she doesn't get very far on each stride, but that's not much different than Evie, being basically the same height (not much.)

The waitress eyes a car as she jogs down the street. The windows are all fogged up, and it's shaking back and forth. Looks like there's somebody.. two people? moving around inside and.. oh. THAT'S what's going on. Alison stops, very briefly, to slap on the roof of the car with an open palm, and yell, "IT'S NOVEMBER." before continuing. It's gotta be cold in there.

"Sitting on my couch has fringe benefits too. Like being able to watch Fringe. Have you seen that? It's great." She grits her teeth, making her way. A glower takes over her face at the mere suggestion of camping. Was that supposed to be an enticement? Because it's NOT. Sand at the beach is awful enough, with camping, there's no pizza, there's dirt everywhere, bugs, no internet.. why would anyone do that kind of thing on purpose? Evie pulling ahead of Alison only intensifies the redhead's scowl, motivating her to put in a little more effort to catch up.

"You need to go ahead and let your arms swing a little bit more. Come on, watch how I'm doing it. You're going to make yourself tired trying to run like that. Loosen up your shoulders." Evie looks back at Alison as they jog along, more than capable of keeping this pace while critiquing and- apparently- probably even while running backwards.

"Nope. Never seen Fringe," Evie admits then. "But that's fine. You've never been up to Hurricane Ridge, have you? In fact. I want to take a road trip," Evie informs her companion as they are passing the car. "It's one of my favourite pla-"

Then Alison stops to slap tha car and shout, leaving her blonde companion to splutter a little and blink at the vehicle. "...Ohh." Then she moves on, apparently no worse for the wear. "Anyway. Hurricane Ridge. One of the best views you'll ever see."

"Come on. Pizza's not too far away. You can do it," Evie announces cheerfully.

Alison tries to copy Evie's form with her arms, kind of.. almost gets there? "What does that even MEAN? How do I make my shoulders loose?" With Evie watching, Alison kind of does an impression of one of those wacky wavy inflatable tube man things that you see on the side of the road, her arms waving all over the place as she runs. And that almost causes her to fall. She stumbles a few times, not quite eating asphalt, but very nearly loses her shit. Muttering to herself, "That was stupid." before picking the pace back up.

"Name sounds familiar.. oh, in the national park land?" Her mind jogs for a minute. "I don't think it's open this time of year." Deflection. "Maybe when the weather's a bit nicer?"

The aggravation on her face grows a little more prominent as it becomes clear that she's really miserable, starting to feel it in her mostly unused calves. "Will you let me get pineapple this time?"

"It's open all summer and then saturday and sunday the rest of the year. Olympic National Park doesn't close, Ali." Shaking her head, Evie reaches out and helps to steady the taller girl as she wobbles during their jogging.

"Up on the Ridge the weather will be great. I promise. And I have a surprise for you if you make it to the top with me." Grinning, Evie just rolls her shoulders and starts to pick up the pace. Just a little bit.

"Going a bit faster will let you stretch your legs. It'll actually help. Come on." So saying, Evi leads the way for the last dozens of meters to the pizza parlor in question. Her form, of course, is perfectly graceful. She's had practice.

"And if you go running with me so I don't have to do it alone every day you can have anything you want."

Alison grumbles. She knew that about the national park not being closed. I mean, hell, she just talked to a park ranger that came into the Grizzly the other day, but it was worth a shot.

The redhead reaches out to grab Evie's butt, just because she can, but falls short just as the blonde woman picks up speed. "UGH. I hate this!" Evie's words (and the pizza place getting to be in sight) prove to be some motivation, and with a yell, she puts in something near 100% effort, trying to do the proper arm thing, speeding up decently. Shouting out, "PIZZA I'M COMING FOR YOU!"

Her breath really starts to get ragged as the two of them get within shorter distance of the pizzeria, occasionally slowing a bit, but then scowling some more as she puts more effort back in to get there. "D-don't threaten me with a good t-time, Evie!"

Eventually, the pair do reach the Pizzeria. Evelyn stops beside the door to allow her poorly conditioned compatriot to catch her breath. Meanwhile, the blonde looks completely comfortable, with just the sheen of sweat on her forehead to show she was actually exercising at all.

"I was thinking that we could start going dancing sometimes," Evie begins in a tone akin to a chirp. "Not just, like, a club. But - ballroom dancing lessons, maybe. I haven't- really decided yet, you know? But I was hoping you'd come along."

All of this is related while Alison's body forces her to wait to retrieve the much vaunted holy grail that is a pineapple pizza Evie will actually put up with being served. Sometimes, life is about small pleasures. This is not one of those times.

Heavy panting comes from Alison after they get there. Ugh. Fuck. "You do this every day?" She bends over, hands on her knees, until more oxygen returns to her.. well, everything. She's considerably more sweaty than Evie, shockingly enough.

The suggestion of dancing.. doesn't actually sound too bad? "Yeah, that.. sounds alright. I don't really have the right kinda clothes for ballroom dancing." Alison stands up, her face still a bit flush. "If you're there, I mean. Not by myself."

She pushes past Evie, goes through the door, and gets in line to order that dang pepperoni and pineapple pizza that she's been craving. And a bottle of water.

"Yep. Dancing. And of course I'll go with you... ANd even handle costuming." Evie laughs softly at that and then she reaches out with both hands to grasp Alison's right arm. She turns, pushing the doors to the Pizzeria open with her back as she steps through it, tugging the redhead along. "Watch out, we'd better hurry. Pineapple is so popular they might run out if we don't go now."
