(TXT to Yule) Esme : I literally can't even right now.
(TXT to Esme) Yule : Can't even what?
(TXT to Yule) Esme : With anything. So, from a file de la Vega gave me, I ran facial recognition on one of the pictures. Some weird looking dude. One sec, lemme take a picture of it for you.
(TXT to Yule) Esme : ( a picture of a photograph: a man in his early thirties standing on the corner of Elm and Spruce; he's thin and serious with sharp cheekbones, dirty blond hair, and sunken eyes. Everything about the photograph suggests that he has no idea his picture is being taken. ) I got a hit. From 30 years AFTER THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN. AND HE LOOKS THE SAME.
(TXT to Esme) Yule : Sure it isn't his son or something? Sometimes fathers/dads can look uncannily alike, yeah? What was this file from?
(TXT to Yule) Esme : Ugh, maybe? I don't think so though. 82% Match. Homeless - so need to try and do a little more digging. It was a file looking into the death of that detective Jones. According to Vega (and this file) both Jones and Morgan disappeared on 10/23/03. I don't know if Jones is actually dead or not or if it's just a presumption.
(TXT to Esme) Yule : Well, that's interesting. So that picture is from 30 years ago? I can one up you on that front. Found a case with brain atrophy - the puncture wound - stretching back to 1955 in the ME records. Missing organs and that pattern? Back to 1939. And all the doctors records show that the organ removed from each victim had some sort of disease. Cataracts of the eyes, cancer in the lymph nodes, chlamydia to missing genitals. So our perp might be, oh, I don't know, 98 or so, if he started killing when he was 18.
(TXT to Esme) Yule : I do need to take a brain tissue sample and get it processed further. Found a note in one case file where the ME at the time sent tissue off for analysis to FUller-Newton Medical Lab, but never filed any results. Seems suspect. Oh.. and I was wrong. The brain atrophy - that puncture wound - goes back to six of the 1939 cases as well.
(TXT to Yule) Esme : Christ. Well...if that's the case. What was wrong with our recent vic that her skin got taken? Also WHY go after diseased stuff? Some kind of perverted...cleansing?
(TXT to Yule) Esme : Definitely let me know about those results. Very suspect they didn't get filed. Unless the ME didn't want to be called a quack or something? If it was really...different...
(TXT to Esme) Yule : I'll pull her most recent doctor on file and have a word with him. And maybe? Better question is how do they all link together... how does he, or she, know what these people are suffering from. Might be worth it for you to have a word with their doctors as well.
(TXT to Yule) Esme : Yeah I think I'll explore that next while I try to figure out more info on this mystery man. There has to be some commonality we're over looking.
(TXT to Esme) Yule : Wonder if that lab is still around... and if that lab was used for all the diagnosis. I'll look into that as well in the medical records.
(TXT to Yule) Esme : Good luck, I am going to try and hit up the hospital before this stupid storm hits. I'm on call too so I can't even be snuggled up by the fireplace in pajamas. Hopefully we can both find some more information that'll lead us to this...whatever it is.
(TXT to Esme) Yule : Yeah. I'm at a loss right now given just how long these cases stretch on. I'll keep you informed.
