Text

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : Hey. When is it that you go to England? And will you be visiting London at all?

<FS3> Isabella rolls Veil Lore: Success (7 6 5 4 3 2) (Rolled by: Isabella)

(TXT to Yule) Isabella : My viva voce is around early March and I'll be in Oxfordshire, but London's only about an hour and change or so away. I was thinking of taking a trip there once I'm done with my defense, and then Wales. Why?

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : Hmm. March. Not sure if I want to wait that long. Depends on if I haven't had success otherwise... and if you feel like doing me a favor. By visiting a museum. And... inspecting things.

(TXT to Yule) Isabella : You don't have to bribe me to go to a museum. What is it that you're looking into, specifically?

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : Here is another one of my hypothesis. We often encounter anti-material in science, yeah? Lead blocking x-rays, polarization with UV, kryptonite to Superman. There is, I am told, a world class mineral and geology collection in the Natural History Museum in London. I am wondering if we could find the material that resists glimmering... or makes it work even better.

(TXT to Yule) Isabella : That actually sounds interesting. I can certainly do it while I'm there. Why, are you trying to build a chamber that either amplifies or neutralizes abilities?

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : A few things. I am currently tracking down how we can nullify a room to keep data safe in it. And as I look to build out a lab? Having materials that can enhance or reduce glimmer effect could be very useful in ... supernatural scientific tools. You know, when I went to med school, never once did it cross my mind I'd ever be writing that.

(TXT to Yule) Isabella : ::laugh emoji:: Stick with us, good doctor. You'll start saying such things and more. Like 'please step away from the treasure chest with teeth' or 'don't chase the T-rex'. All of that makes sense - extremely practiced readers can create null rooms, but as far as I know, that only lasts for a day at most. I wonder if it's not easier to find material that prolongs the effects of our abilities rather than outright reducing or nullifying it.

(TXT to Yule) Isabella : Should I include that to the list?

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : Why would I want you to step away from that treasure chest? I'm quite certain, if it has teeth, then it has something I want to see... and I have complete faith in your ability to see what is inside for me! I'm going to chat with Minerva... Alexander told me much the same. I wonder if we can find an item to alter with physical power to make it more receptive to the.. nullification ability, so it lasts longer. I /know/ it can be done. I felt it with the gliminol I was making, I just didn't quite pull it off.

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : But certainly. If we can find a material that is more receptive to being altered, or enhances power? That'd be fabulous.

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : I mean, if you get bored, and want to talk Alexander into a trip to Portland or Seattle during the winter, surely they have a natural history museum somewhere. Surely not as large of a collection as what London has, unfortunately.

(TXT to Yule) Isabella : Of course you would, you're not the one who has to put his face close to said teeth to see what's inside! And I know it can be done, at least I've examined an artifact recently that can nullify objects, but according to the man it came from, it was made out of souls. My own inspection of the item was inconclusive on that end, and it's limited to one item, one use only.

(TXT to Yule) Isabella : The bigger the collection is, the harder the find, however. But I can use the principles I learned from the box I examined to at the very least truncate the search in some way. I have an idea.

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : Yeah. Alexander showed me his box. He was so excited about it he wanted to show it to me again! And... see? This is why your face is the one that should go next to the teeth. I give you hypothesis, and you immediately come up with ideas for how to make them work!

(TXT to Yule) Isabella : I happen to like my face where it is very much, and that's away from teeth! You're impossible. If you're going to be this way, I'd suggest you put some legwork into your own research and meet me there. I intend to do some investigations of my own regardless.

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : I'm just going to point out, that your face has teeth. Your teeth, but it's still quite close to teeth! And I have very long legs, thank you much. I'll let you know what I find out from Minerva re: nullification.

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : If you need help with your ideas, let me know. I appreciate all of your efforts, teeth or not. 🙂

(TXT to Yule) Isabella : Trust a medical professional to argue dental semantics! But that would be great. I've not talked to Minerva in a while - I should before the trip, at the very least. You're being careful about all this poking around you're doing, hopefully?

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : Define 'being careful'. I'm not dead yet, and I haven't felt any more creepy eyes on me, so. That's good enough, right? I talked with Anne. She's going to create an archival system for me. Going to the Hub to get a computer setup with 'mundane security' for encrpytion/et all. Trying to be as cautious as I can with the potential research.

(TXT to Yule) Isabella : Compared to everything else going on, that's actually good enough, I think. And I'm glad you've met Anne, she's a good friend of mine and lives for that kind of thing, so you're in good hands. As for the Hub, that makes sense too. I also have the number of a cybersecurity expert if you need it.

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : Might as well pass it on. If this even works, then I'll have to figure out where to put this safe room at. If Minerva is interested in experiments for trying to create it, you good if I point her your direction as a collaborator?

(TXT to Yule) Isabella : His name's Blake Cooper. I can't attest to his work, but he gave me his card. He's in a bit of legal trouble, just to warn, but in the event that you do need additional security, you can try him. His number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. I met him in City Hall. And of course. This wouldn't be the first time Minerva and I worked together on something...unusual.

(TXT to Isabella) Yule : Sounds good. I'll send you info after I'm done meeting with Minerva. Thanks again Isabella.

(TXT to Yule) Isabella : You're welcome, Yule. Stay safe.
