Text

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : Your boyfriend just get back into town too?

(TXT to Sparrow) Joseph : I don't think he qualifies as my boyfriend. I think another man has that title.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : Like maybe the charmer who abandoned us earlier? Pls say yes.

(TXT to Sparrow) Joseph : Sorry. Was unclear. I think the Englishman in the nice suit who was here earlier is your boy's boyfriend, yes.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : What do you qualify as?

(TXT to Sparrow) Joseph : No idea. Rough trade, maybe.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : My read's a little different, but.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : What do I know 😃

(TXT to Sparrow) Joseph : Oh yeah?

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : 'Both of my boys' doesn't seem to differentiate, but.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : He keeps good company.

(TXT to Sparrow) Joseph : That's good news. Have you considered the possibility that I'm the exception that proves the rule?

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : I've considered that I enjoy your company.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : Wondering if I can make you blush if I list out why.

(TXT to Sparrow) Joseph : I think Messrs. Walker, Daniels, Beam, and Jameson have already gotten you a real good head start on that, so the odds are excellent. Feel free.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : You are a knowledgeable nerd, unafraid to make references which might not land. So, points for bravery in addition to geekery.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : You've treated my BFF with respect and interest both times we've all crossed paths, despite that whole thinking you're too old for his attention thing.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : You appreciate punk and folk. Which is as it should be.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : You've been nothing but nice to me even though I got pissy with you when I was having a bad day.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : And you are magnificently easy to flirt with even if it's going nowhere.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : And YOU keep good company too. And catch the hotness that I miss.

(TXT to Sparrow) Joseph : I don't recall you getting pissy with me. And ....I can't hardly take credit for my luck in the company I keep. But 'm glad to have your good opinion. I'm hardly gonna blow off your friend 'cause I'm too old for him.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : I'mma count that first point a win.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : And argue that you totally CAN count good company to your credit as it shows both some discernment in your choices and the quality of people who find you worth spending time with.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : And you'd be surprised how many people are way not into people flirting with them. It's weird.

(TXT to Sparrow) Joseph : I feel, sometimes, like it's a dying art. But where and when I grew up, it was very much an expected part of social discourse. No one meant anything by it, it was just....well, mostly pleasantries.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : I like that. It's easy for me. But it's also honest. I like people, ya know? I mostly mean things by it. Not always heavy big things, but real things.

(TXT to Sparrow) Joseph : There's definitely an art to the well-turned compliment or the elegant offer that doesn't imply obligation or expectation. I'm rusty, I used to be better.

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : You're still alright. 😉

(TXT to Joseph) Sparrow : Part of it is making it effortless for the person on the other side, after all. And you do that so damned well.

(TXT to Sparrow) Joseph : Well, thank you. I do try.
