Via knowledge of Kip's own powers along with talking to some locals she's determined that she should be able to open a portal into this other side. Whether they can exit or not is...up in the air. She and Ariana have set up shop in an empty house that is definitely abandoned and not being lived in, somewhere near the local cemetery. It seemed like a safe enough place to be able to both check for ghost activity but also explore this own..Veil business more in depth without getting too into it. Kip was finishing setting up one of the cameras that would video tape the goings on in the house. "Okay, is your camera all set to go?" Kip asked Ari.
The current plan was for Kip to try and open up a door to this other side and see if they could get any kind of recording.
Ariana did her best not to check up on Kip setting up the other camera and largely succeeding. An occasional glance in its direction. A grimace every now and then at what Kip was doing. But no spoken suggestions. She is very proud of herself.
"Of course my cameras are ready" she replies, indicating both the one in her hand and then the Go-Pro attached to her head - such a sexy look. She scans the room with both cameras, checking the images on her laptop nearby. "This town is so rich they can leave houses like this to rot? Or are we trespassing?" A wicked grin appears for a moment. "I hope so."
Ariana is dressed in her ghost-hunting gear of sturdy boots, tactical pants with numerous pockets, and a t-shirt under a padded vest. Her pockets containing all manner of supernatural measuring instruments that may or may not work.
"Whenever you are ready. Oh, I met a man who said he knew you. Joseph?"
<FS3> Kip rolls Physical: Good Success (8 8 7 7 5 5 4 1) (Rolled by: Kip)
"We are definitely trespassing." Kip flashed a grin and then laughed. "I mean, everyone and everything owns something right? And we don't own this so, therefore, trespassing." She moved more towards the center of the room. Trying to center herself and focus on opening a door. Or window. Or something. "Okay, make sure you are rolling! Oh you did? What did you think of him?" Kip asked. "He seems nice, with stories to tell. I have run into him a few times. I would not say any of the conversations were very much meaningful." She looks over towards Ariana. "It is surprising how many speak Russian on some level in this town. More than I would have thought."
Then it's back to concentrating! Slowly a thin, shimmering line started to appear in front of Kip. That line wiggled and widened until it had formed an oval shape that a human could easily pass through. On the other side? It kind of looked like Downtown. Except....the sky was a weird color and the businesses didn't look familiar. She looked towards Ariana, as much nervous as she was fascinated. "I suppose- we go in now?" And then would do just that!
As for the recording devices? Well - it seemed like the video was getting interference when the portal started opening. Looking back later the audio was there, but somewhat garbled. They'd have to see how things worked on the inside.
"No, you have it the wrong way around, everything and everyone is owned by someone. Joseph seemed polite enough. He knew not to bet against a Russian in a drinking competition" Ariana says with a wink. "He used to work in Star City. Maybe he knows something of what went on there?" The cameras are definitely rolling. "Of course people here know Russian, it is the language of their voting instructions."
She watches silently as the portal opens. It's still an impressive sight. In they go. Ariana following...after making sure she has her knife. Never go into any supernatural place without an iron weapon. It may not be as tough, sharp, or lasting as steel, but most fairies hate it.
"Getting a little bit of interference with the picture" Ariana notes after a glance at the camera viewfinder but she will keep on shooting.
Kip snickered at the voting comment. "He might. Maybe we will ask one day." She nodded.
Then they were inside. She looked towards Ariana as she mentioned the interference and nodded. She adjusted her camera in her hands and exhaled slowly. The portal closed up behind the women and the air felt almost electric. Like a feeling before a storm comes, except that the sky -strange colored as it was - was clear-ish? "We have some options. From what I have gathered." Kip explained, turning fully towards Ariana now. "We can stay in the town area. It is the most stable and safest. Relatively speaking." As safe as another dimension that is pretty much all danger can be. "Or we can head towards the forest where it is more dicey?" They also would have to find a thin point in order to get out. Kip was going to be on high alert for that. She did not want to get stuck here.
"Preference? Or should we flip a coin?"
The portal closing up behind them has Ariana looking even more annoyed than usual; she really hates feeling trapped in a strange place. Reminds her of when she had to host a children's show in her Siberian exile. All the kids were crying by the end. Another check of the camera shows that it doesn't look like it is going to get any better. "I will have to work on the equipment. This...electricity...in the air. It is interfering with everything." That's her two minute deduction.
A grin at the thought of 'dicey'. "Obviously, we have to head to the forest. Are we expecting more people in this town?" The quiet and empty streets are not something to feel comfortable about either. "Kip...we can get back easily, can't we?"
"I do not know if 'people' is the right word..." Kip murmured, looking over her shoulder. Feeling like there were eyes on her. "Towards the forest it is." She gave Ariana a crooked little smile. "Honestly? I believe we can. We just have to find a spot that is, uh...thin. As they call it. I think we will know it when we see it...or feel it?" She looked down at her own camera. "It protects itself. We keep rolling though. Never know what it might manage to actually catch."
She shifted in order to start walking in the forest direction, shouldering her backpack that contained some water, snacks, and extra camera batteries and some flashlights just in case. "And if we get lost, I fully expect you to kick my ass." Kip grinned, but Ariana would be able to see that she was at least a little nervous about this whole thing. Then she turned back to continue walking.
Within the Veil, the Firefly Forest took on a somewhat more sinister tone. The trees felt like they were looming, and once inside? Well they seemed closer together. "We know we've reached the edge of the forest when things start getting extra weird. Like...dancing battle bots weird." Kip added as she repositioned the hold on her camera to (hopefully) catch some frames of the forest.
"If you believe we can get back, then I believe it too." Ariana doesn't sound too convincing but she does trust her friend. The blonde also wears a backpack. it has her laptop in it that is recording the video signals, water, energy bars, flares, and, most importantly, a bottle of vodka.
Ariana nods solemnly about the ass kicking - Kip can depend on that. Though she does offer a wink afterwards, sensing Kip's unease about the situation. Even if it is a situation that she got them into.
A frown, or a bigger frown than usual, when Ariana looks upon the spectral version of the forest. "It looks like a story book" she grumbles. "And not a Disney version." When they enter the woods proper, it does not get any better. "This is the kind of place where we could find a Baba Yaga. The locals who told you about this...warned you about this...have they been here and back? Voluntarily? Does this place come into the real world?" Ariana is arrogant enough to believe that the world she is from is the real one and anything else is just a shadow. "You have been here before?"
"I would not be surprised if something like her was on this side of things." Kip mused at the Baba Yaga comment. She was on high alert. "Some come voluntarily. I think those who are a bit stronger than me can open doorways out too. Sometimes people slip through thin spots. This is different than the battle bots things. This is a stable place. I think most of the exploration here is voluntary. It's past the forest's edge where most of the...involuntary stuff happens." She theorizes. A chill runs up her spine.
"Let us try to stay away from the Saw Mill area." Not that she precisely knows where that is. "I am hearing it is the worst spot." And Kip was totally not ready for the worst spot. She takes out her own knife, stopping by a tree, as if thinking maybe they should mark their way but Kip hesitates. "Do you think these are sentient trees?" It sounds utterly ridiculous. Trees can't talk or feel or think. Not the way people do. Right? Kip shakes her head and works on marking a small X into the tree. As she finishes, the tree branches rustle - as if wind was rolling through them. Except there was no wind. Kip instinctively murmurs a soft apology in Russian as she steps back to Ariana's side.
There were sounds all around them of what seemed like forest life. Some of it sounded normal, some of it made Kip uneasy. As they walked, a particularly loud SNAP of a branch caused her to jump a bit. For a ghost hunter she always has been extra jumpy but, this place was exacerbating that.
"This is stable?" Ariana may need some convincing about that. Particularly when the tree seems to protest to being marked. "They might be sentient" she has to admit. "Or perhaps the whole world is sentient? All of this is one entity recreating the environment from the memories of those who wander in. Drawing its strength from those with powers, like yourself, who it can bring into its web>" A pause and then a shrug. "Or it could be Baba Yaga. You are the smart one about these things. I am here to record...and protect you." A strong hand on Kip's shoulder to offer a reassuring squeeze. "If this saw mill is where everything happens, why don't we go..."
Ariana whirls around in the direction of the snap, subconsciously putting herself between it and Kip. "Hello?" she asks in English and then in Russian. The small camera in her hand attached to her belt so she can draw her iron blade and use it properly. She still has her Go-Pro attached to her head.

"If we see a house on chicken legs? We run." Kip says confidently. She relaxes a bit when Ariana squeezes her shoulder but of course is immediately on alert again at that snapping sound. She turns, not to face where Ariana is facing, but towards the other way, just in case. She grips her pocket knife tighter. "We protect each other." Her voice is soft. "The really bad things. The Shadow Men? They are congregating there. I...do not want to go there when we know so little..." Doesn't matter though cause it seems like something is coming for them. Until it doesn't. A few tense moments of silence pass before Kip relaxes again. Whatever it was must have moved on. "Come, this way." Motioning back towards the path that leads deeper in the forest.
She takes the lead, focusing in on some of the flora and fauna with her camera. "It feels...oppressive. The air." Kip commented. "It feels-"...sticky. Kip immediately tries to jump backwards. And is pulled right back in to whatever she's walked into. There's a frantic sort of look in her eyes. All that composure she normally has? Right out the window in this new territory.
Blocking the rest of the pathway, and what Kip was currently stuck in, was a rather large and thick looking spiderweb. In fact? On both sides, the trees seemed to look like they were covered in webs of varying levels. The camera Kip was holding has fallen on to the ground and her free hand is fishing for that pocket knife that had been put away right now.
While Kip is trying not to have a total panic attack, Ariana probably can feel way too many eyes focused on her. And if she really tries to look around, up on the tree tops and and a few spots on the ground there are dozens of blue, red, and green eyes peering out from the dusky shadows.
"I think that is good advice no matter where you are" Ariana deadpans about any house on chicken legs, not just Baba Yaga's. "Shadow Men? Who are the Shadow Men?" She obviously needs an update on paranormal activity. They've had run-ins with 'Men in Black' but Shadow Men are new. A nod about resuming their journey into the woods after the 'snap' incident. The blonde unhooking her camera from the belt to resume using it...though the knife stays firmly in her other hand. "I need to make a Steadicam mount" she muses.
A look of alarm as Kip gets herself stuck. "I don't think that is the air" Ariana frowns, camera back on her belt as moves to try and help her friend. "Is that spider web?" She pokes at it with her cold iron knife, trying to saw through it around Kip. That they are surrounded by webs is not missed...how could it be? Nor can that feeling of being watched. "Don't struggle, it will only make things worse." Should she mention all the eyes...probably best not to.
"Once we have cut you out of the web, I think we should go back towards the town. And remind me to bring a flamethrower in future." Ariana tries to exude lighthearted confidence but she is alert and ready for a fight. Not that she has ever fought giant spiders before. That's more a hobbit thing.

<FS3> DRAW! (Rolled by: Kip)
"They are...well...I do not know if they reside here or if they created all this. But they are bad news. Feed off your fears and other negative emotions. I don't know what will happen if we get too close to such an active area." Kip explained as they walked.
Now she was trying to follow Aris' advice and stop flailing. The webbing was tough. Tougher than a normal spider web should be but Ariana's knife was making progress on cutting Kip free. Dark eyes darted here and there at the eyes because, yeah - Kip's noticed them and her heart is pounding. "Heading towards town...yes. A good idea." And hopefully a thin spot was there.
A small squeaking sound escaped the woman as she saw some of the eyes moving closer, long spindly legs starting to reveal themselves. She also felt some movement in the web. Tilting her head ever so slowly upwards, Kip saw what she presumed was the owner of this particular web. A spider that was the size of a medium-sized dog with gleaming blue eyes and...was that some kind of venom?? "...Please tell me...you are almost done..." The words were barely whispered and her eyes stayed locked on the spider.

"I have no fear or negative emotions" Ariana replies in her deadpan, grumpy way. "So I have nothing to fear from these Shadows. Besides, all you need to do to beat a shadow is turn a light on one. Which is what we do. Turn light on the darkness." She saws furiously with her blade, all too aware at approaching trouble. No way is she looking up at what Kip is seeing. "Almost there" she promises. "Keep calm. Hey...look at me. Tell me about this Rekani. Has he bewitched your heart? Cast a spell to entrap you?" Ariana may be teasing but she wants to keep Kip's mind in a happy place.
<FS3> Kip rolls Composure: Good Success (7 6 6 5 3) (Rolled by: Kip)
Kip can feel Ari's knife working through the web. The spiders, to their credit, don't seem like they're going to try and start anything..yet. Kip swallows hard and ever so slowly tilts her head back down to look at Ari, just in time for a drop of that venom to fall on her head and cause a stinging sensation.
Kip inhales sharply and tries to focus on Ari, on her questions, ignoring the pain. There's a twitch of a smile, despite all her panic, at the mention of Rekani. "He is...good. Great. I adore him and his sister. I'm starting to pick up some of the Spanish and they're learning some Russian...or maybe they've picked it up on their travels." The talking about something else other than what is happening is helping calm her a bit. "It is still not so serious though. No bewitching going on." There's a chuckle from her, which immediately cuts off when she feels movements again on the web that doesn't come from Ari's work.
"He knows we are in here. When you were setting up. I texted him so...if...if something happens or we can't..." Kip swallows again. "If the exit is difficult. He'll come." And whatever help he might bring with him.

"And how exactly does he know when to come?" Ariana asks as she continues to cut through the sticky webbing. "And will he bring his hot sister with him? Umm...because the more of us the better. That is what I mean." A wince about that venom but they are so close now...and so are the spiders.
"If I have to stop cutting your bonds to...deal...with something. Do not panic, okay? Ostavaysya sil'nym (stay strong). I have stood on spiders my whole life, that will not change." There is definite steel in her voice. No way is she going to let anything happen to them in here. "You have slept with him though, da? Though I do not think there was much sleep."

Kip smiled a bit more. "He might. I don't know. Hopefully he does not have to come at all and I'll drag you over to their apartment myself. I told him. 48 hours. If I don't contact him by then, something must have gone wrong." She elaborates, glancing over Ari's shoulder as she watches some of the spiders. At least they aren't massive...but they're definitely better than any spider has any business being.
"Understood." She breathes out, one had curled into a fist as she starts scouting out potential projecticles she can throw with her abilities. "Oh, uhm. Yes...quite a few times." She admits with a hint of blush involuntarily rising up. "And I like sleeping over..." Which ,of course, Ari knows she's slept over there at least a few times. "He's very cozy and warm."
Kip slowly looks back up to Ari. "Keep working on the knife...I...I see a few things maybe I can hurl so they stay back." She has spied a few small, fallen branches and twigs and extends her hand out to focus on one of them and sends it hurling towards an approaching spider...which pierces it and the force behind it causes it to get pushed back a handful of feet.
"Why don't you throw your knife?" Ariana suggests as another strand is cut away. "We're so close" she whispers eagerly. "Why did we bother with separate rooms? I could have stayed in your room with the amount of times you're away. Cozy and warm?" That makes her snort with amusement. "That does not sound like casual indifference."
Trusting in her friend, and her powers, she doesn't even check what damage Kip did to the spider. It was probably fatal. "Forty-eight hours seems a long time" she notes; particularly with what they're going through now. Another strand is cut through. "Try moving now."
"Oh, that is a good idea too. "Kip agrees with the knife throwing idea after she'd pinned the one spider. Honestly she may have forgotten she had a knife on her. "Though...I don't know how much good it would do." Perhaps she dug the knife out of her pocket regardless. "I mean. It is casual. Like...good friends with good benefits." She murmurs. "No labels makes life easier."
Kip nods at Ari's comment about the 48 hours. "Exactly. We should be back no more than 24 hours right? So...if no contact in 48 it went severely wrong." She starts trying to pull herself free again. So very close. "We are definitely bringing a flamethrower nextime." Kip mutters in agreement with Ari's earlier claim. Instead of flinging her knife, she starts working with Ari now that she's in a better position. Between the pair of them they should surely be able to get through these ast few strands in just a minute, hopefully less.
Some of the spiders backed off, seeing one of their own destroyed. Some seemed gearing up to attack. Kip works her knife a little quicker. "As soon as this frees, we run like hell, yes?"
"Run like hell" Ariana agrees, "And barrel through anything stupid enough to get in our way." The blonde expects to be doing any violence needed. In fact, she relishes it. "We have to make sure you get back to your warm and cozy casual non-boyfriend with benefits" she teases. "Next time, maybe less than forty-eight hours. I don't think we even have enough food with us for twenty-four. Not enough vodka, that's for sure."
With the last strand almost cut through, Ariana leaves it to Kip, turning to check out their escape route and making sure the hold on her knife is now one for battle, not cutting. Big spiders...yuk. She is totally working on a flamethrower back in their world. "Ready?"

Kip continues to vigorously work the knife. "That is fair. Next time I will do 24." Because of course they're going to be coming back at some point. "We are going to buy out the liquor store of their vodka when we get back. "
Though there's still spiders in the way - the quickest way out is back through the path. They'll just have to barrel through some of the spiders. A few are getting braver and moving in closer. Kip feels a few more drops of venom landing on her skin and makes a noise like she's trying to hold back the pain.
"One...more..se-Got it!" Kip pulls the rest of the way from the web and grabs on to Ari's arm so they can start running, just in time to miss the web owner's spray of more web. As they are running the spiders start shooting web and trying to attack with their pincers. Maybe these spiders just like the hunt? Maybe they're getting revenge for their fallen friend.
Kip manages to dodge a web but screams as one of the spiders gets her by the leg and she starts to go down. "Ari!" She tries to use her knife and uninjured leg to get the spider off of her. Adrenaline is pumping right now but Jesus H. Christ this is going to hurt sooner rather than later.

Ariana pushes Kip ahead of her so she can get away quicker. Big mistake. Though the blonde's agility shows in the way she dodges the spurts of webbing and the grip of spindly legs, she is not able to stop her friend from being grabbed. "There is not enough vodka in this t...Kip!"
With a scream of anger that has unnerved many a human but seems to have very little effect on spiders, Ariana charges at the beast that has Kip in its grip. Maybe she should have attacked with more skill and less...venom. The spider easily dodging the human's angry strike, fangs exposed to hit back as Ariana's wild swing causes her to lose her balance.

Maybe Ari didn't properly get the drop on the spider but hey, it did get the spider to release Kip's leg. Kip scrambles backwards, "Ari!" Her eyes widen. Great. One spider gets brave, they all start getting brave. She is making her way towards the blonde, crawling since her leg is on fire and she can't quite stand on it on her own. She figures maybe they can help each other get up. She launches a rock at a spider getting closer to Ariana and sends it flying. "Come! We're so close!" Well, not really, but Kip's hoping these spiders have a territory and also don't like leaving it so if they can just...get out of the territory they'll be okay.
She's trying to bottle up the pain and place it on a shelf. Escaping this was the main focus. She's trying to start helping Ariana but, you know what? Those spiders just really have it out for her and she's definitely not properly focused. She feels webbing wrap around her shoes and start dragging her. Kip screams out again, trying both to keep a hold on Ariana and kick off those damn shoes. It's not looking good.

Ariana quickly gets to her feet. Not for her own well-being, but to help Kip, trying to lift and drag her towards what they hope will be an escape. "You will be fine. Promise." More famous last words from the blonde as a spider webs Kip once more and almost drags her from Ariana's grip. With one hand tight around her friend's wrist, the blonde drops her knife and points her hand at the spider.
Ariana has not revealed this aspect of her powers much and for good reasons. It would bring too much attention to her. It would have her locked back up in the 'hospital'. And she is a terrible at it. What looks like electricity shoots from her fingertips, arcing and sparking through the air towards the spider, and then hitting an innocent tree in the general vicinity. If these trees are sentient, she's pissed them off. "Chert!!" Yes, it's not looking good for the babes in the woods.
There's a change in the air, like a pressure drop, the sound of a shushed gust that disturbed any older, billowy cobwebs, making them wave and shudder in the new strange wind that was created. A portal had opened somewhere nearby, a dark purple, almost black shimmering disk materializing from nothing, opening like an eyelid that stood on its side. The smell of trees and forest precedes a large Latino as he steps through. Rekani has both his hands outstretched, palms out, like he were holding the sides of the disk at bay, and his eyes were closed in concentration.
He had no idea what he was walking into, only focusing on that strange depression in the air he'd felt, then reached out and punctured. He'd only done this once in his childhood, and it'd been a terrifying experience, but he knew he could carry himself... and someone else through into the Veil.
Rekani has opened a portal, something Nova was fairly certain he had never done. Originally when he said he was going to open some sort of tear into the place where her imaginary friends had been from childhood, she had been pretty sure he was just high. He had done just that though, other than the fact that as soon as she stepped through rather than friends there was a giant spider. The transition did a number on her stomach that almost made her vomit. The freakishness of the arachnid abrades that.
Instead Nova just yells, "Oh, ni a putas!" and zaps the bitch with some pink lightening. The effect is almost cartoonish and more than likely pisses it off. "Hermano You didn't say nothing 'bout some giant spiders!" She says looking at him shrewdly. Then her attention turns to the ladies and she waves with a smile. "Hola!" A camera can be seen in her left hand.

The girls are certainly in a pickle right now. Kip is being dragged via web to the feet by a spider, Ari holding on to her. She screams again. The zaps to the spider dragging her are enough of a distraction to slow it down as she gets one shoe off. Which makes it easier to get the other shoe off. She tries to fling a shoe at a spider with her powers but it only grazes it. "Gogogo!" She shouts to Ari, trying to scramble to her feet but stumbling.
That's when she finally seems to recognize the Nazario's. Realize they're here. Well...that didn't make sense. It hasn't been two days yet has it? Maybe they aren't actually there and she's just hallucinating from the spider venom? "Nova? Rekani?!" She calls out, looking in that direction. Ari would be able to confirm for her if they were actually there or not. "I can't. On my own." Walk, probably. But at least she's on her feet again now and for a second the spiders seem like they're regrouping and not attacking again. Yet.

"I am not going anywhere without you" Ariana informs Kip in a steely tone that will not be argued with. "You threw a shoe? Who throws a shoe?" She does her best to catch her stumbling friend before more electricity shoots from her fingertips. More a white with hints of blue than pink; better to hide in the frozen wastes. Though Nova's accuracy inspires Ariana to actually hit her target this time. "I love the smell of burning flesh in the morning."
Ariana offers a nod of greeting to their saviors as she wraps an arm around Kip to help her walk. "Your friends?" There is confirmation they are real. The blonde has a camera hanging from her belt and a Go-Pro atop her head in what must be the sexiest look ever. She will assume that they need to head to the disc shape hanging there with Rekani holding it open.

<FS3> Marginal Victory for Rekani. (Rolled by: Rekani)
Now through, Rekani was finding the act of concentration not needed, the disk staying open behind him as he opens his eyes and lowers his hands, taking stock of what was happening. Really not aware of the inner workings behind him, he hadn't realized that Nova's passing through the portal had seemed to make it waver. It was starting to shut again behind him, but Rekani was worried about other things. Seeing the spiders Nova was shouting about, Rekani's face instantly screws up in anger. "Pendejo!" He reacts quicker than he can realize the situation fully, making a fist, staring toward the arachnids intensely as his mind seems to flow out of him in a rush. One by one, small items in the area start to shake and jiggle as he feels out each little shape until he comes to one last one. The dropped knife.
The blade shoots up off the ground and impales the fried spider that had been after the two women. As it buries into the arachnid's thorax, Rekani realizes it had also just become so much dead meat. His mind encompasses the body instead and flings it backward at another spider, not doing much damage, but at least hopefully distracting one of the 4 remaining. Now he was running toward Ariana and Kip to assist, devil-may-care.

Every time that Nova had defeated something so far, it had involved shaking her ass. Why mess with tradition at this point? Besides they were winning. Looking right at another terrifying arachnid, homegirl in her low-rider jeans and banana yellow crop top breaks it down. "Bitches say shit and they a'int saying nothing..." Oh she was going straight into Nicki's music video steps now. "A hundred mothafuckas can't tell me nothing!" Nova comes down low to sit atop her heels like Ms. Minaj and points at a spider.
"I beez in the trap, be-beez in the trap" Zap another spider takes some neon pink cartoon lightening bolts to the booty, because she would battle for the best butt here. Was this situation entirely life threatening? Yes! Did Nova seem to have turned this into time for dance practice? Also Yes! A wink is given in Ariana's direction.

<FS3> Marginal Victory for Kip. (Rolled by: Kip)
"It was an object to throw!" Kip protested, practically clinging to Ariana. Her left pant leg was shredded and now she had no shoes and she was looking a little pale. Despite this, she can't help by laugh - perhaps a hysterical sort of laughter when she sees Nova dancing. Of all things. Dancing and zapping. But hey, it worked, yeah? When Rekani gets within reach, shifts some and now both he and Ariana have the privilege of being clung to. "We-w-we shhould.." Kip tries to form a thought but her head is spinning.
The spiders seem to be gearing up for a final attack as Nova gets another of their numbers but they aren't closing in distance wise further. Maybe the edge of their territory is near after all. Kip stumbles a bit and that's probably why A - She manages to narrowly avoided getting snagged by a shot of webbings. And B- the reason Ariana gets a full shot of web to the back and Rekani gets some of it being in the line of fire.
"Throw my knife!" Ariana advise Kip, loudly, until she realizes it has already been used by Rekani. "It looks like you have something else in common" she manages to smirk about the two Physicals before there is a heck of a distraction. Ariana stares at the dance routine. Eyes wide with wonder...and a little lust. The photos of Nova that Kip showed her don't do justice - especially since they were static. The wink gets a wicked smile in return.
And then Ariana is suddenly pulled back by a mass of webbing on her back. Pulled onto her much less impressive butt hard enough to wind her. There is a torrent of Russian words that describe acts illegal, immoral, and physically impossible without severe damage to all parties involved, as the blonde struggles to get back on her feet. "Run, Kip. Get away." She glares at Rekani with insistence rather than anger. "Take her out of here."

<FS3> Crushing Victory for Rekani. (Rolled by: Rekani)
Sometimes, with the way <s>Nova</s>certain people acted (not naming any names), it was hard to tell which of the Nazario siblings was actually the older of the two. Rekani certainly wasn't cavorting around with some silly dance routine. He was standing still, hit with webs and ignoring it, as they'd have to come closer to fuck with him anyways. His open hand motion he'd shoved the corpse with was folded inward, balling into a fist as the knife is plucked out of the dead body again. Extending two of his fingers and swiping, the lethal little weapon goes hurtling toward, and through the face of the spider who even looked at Kip in a threatening manner, with two little crunchy squishes as it goes in one side and pops free of the other.
Rekani did not look happy, and as he balls a fist again, the knife twirls in midair, the latino using his free hand to shove Kip past and behind him through the wavering exit, while he decides which of the menacing spiders was most in need of a new set of breathing holes. "ˇArriba! ˇÁndale!" he was shouting, which the Russians probably didn't actually understand, but anyone having seen a Speedy Gonzales cartoon might get was along the lines of 'Get your tight little asses in gear.' Loose translation.
The unfortunate consequence was that as soon as the third person passed through that portal, it collapsed in on itself, severing the connection between their world and this one. Rekani would feel this and his eyes would widen. "Oh fuck." But at least (hopefully) Kip was safe.
Nova spends a luck point. Reason: +2 Dice

<FS3> Crushing Victory for Nova. (Rolled by: Nova)
These people were not in peril! They just needed to live in the moment more an trust. It seems like Nova may in fact barely notice the spiders at all other than the fact that she pops upwards and hops to the right to side step an over-sized hairy leg. Hearing her brother be a drama queen she rolls her eyes in an equally over-the-top fashion. Rekani was harshing her vibe and she had just taken some 'E' five minutes prior to getting his text. She had been missing the colors she had experienced at the firefly the other night.
She would not let him win! She continues rapping and calls down several zig zags of neon fuchsia onto the spiders simultaneously, three of which melt as she drops down low once more bouncing her booty. One arm makes a driving motion directing the arcs. "I beez in the trap, be-beez in the trap,I beez in the trap, be-beez in the trap."
"Ari!" Kip turns to try and grab at Ariana as she is being pulled away but instead Rekani is pushing her in through the portal and she doesn't have much of a choice but to fall in through it. No no no! She stumbles out of the portal and into Nova's car. Slumping against the hood, she tries to steady herself, sliding to the ground and looking at the spot where the portal no longer was. Kip couldn't summon the energy to try and go back in. Or do more than just sit there and try to look at her leg, thinking she should probably call an ambulance or something.
The spiders are having a rough time of it now that the Nazario siblings are here. The spider that had been targeting Kip before she poofed is crushed by Rekani. The spider dragging Ariana and two others are fried by Nova's awesome battle-dancing skills. That leaves one spider all by its lonesome and, well, it's not dumb. It quickly starts scurrying off because it doesn't want to say yes to death today. So now the three are all alone, for now, inn the eerie feeling forest.
<FS3> Rekani rolls Physical (8 8 7 7 6 5 4 4 3 2 2) vs The Veil (a NPC)'s 4 (8 7 4 2 2 2)
<FS3> Crushing Victory for Rekani. (Rolled by: Rekani)
"Yeah, get fucked, puta." Rekani swears after them, spitting on the ground in insult to the last one they let live. They were the Nazarios. Tell your friends. Now he looks down to his feet and the webbing, trying to think his way out of it. Too many single strands. His hand is held out, and the flying dagger flits over and lands in his palm. He crouches and begins to cut himself free. He gives Nova a side-eye, "You coulda started with that instead a' fuckin' around." The webs were a little sticky and difficult to cut through, but he used his mind to add a little extra pushing force to the blade, or pulling force to keep the strands taught and able to be cut. There's a ton of great ways telekinesis worked here, which would probably just lend the idea of how long they'd had and used their gifts... If Nova's lightning storm was any indication.
Once he had himself free, he moves to start cutting Ariana out, which was a bitch and a half harder giving just how effectively they'd web-splooged her. "Shit, girl, maybe don't get em all excited first." he can't help but quip. He keeps an eye out to their surroundings as they work, and would stand once she was freed, looking toward where the portal had shut. He squints, feeling at the place, then letting his eyes fall shut again as he raises his fists by his shoulders. His concentration builds for a long moment before he thrusts his arms out straight, then pulls them apart. Again, there's a folding of space, the air seeming to fall away and outward away from his strike, a sideways eye opening as he literally punches a hole open into the real world again, then tears it wide enough for them to walk through. This portal-like disk looked a whole lot more stable than the last one, though, and he feels like he can just let his arms fall this time, as it just holds itself for the moment. "Alright, can we go the fuck home?" he takes one more look around while making a waving motion to the women. "ˇÁndale!"
"It wasn't me that had them shooting off, it was your sister" Ariana grunts as she does her best to help Rekani cut her bonds. "She almost had me shooting too." Once free she is up on her feet, glaring angrily at the dark woods before bestowing upon them a middle finger. She follows Rekani, brushing herself off while he does his portal thing.
"Nice moves" Ariana upnods to Nova. "And the lightning thing wasn't too bad either. Pink? Cute." Her eyes looking over the dancer without shame before she remembers someone else. "Kip! Where is Kip? Is she okay?" Stepping through the portal, she soon finds her battered friend, guilty that she didn't protect her properly. "I don't suppose either of you is a doctor?" she asks the siblings while ripping her Go-Pro off her head. "I think we would have got some good footage" Ariana assures Kip - trying to make it seem all worthwhile. "We need to find you a doctor."
Nova borderline ignores Rekani, letting him untangle himself without help and rising to her feet as he talks shit to the spider she had scared off. "Man, I been did that, man, I been popped off...And if she ain't trying to give it up she get dropped off." She continues rapping at him in protest. Part of her was kind of impressed to watch with punch a hole in reality, though she wasn't thrilled to encounter the sensation it gave her the last time she went through. She ceases her verses at Ariana's compliment "Gracious Chica," she says walking backwards toward the portal backwards while making finger gun motions.
"She liked it." Nova says indicating Ariana with a tilt of her head, emphasizing his ability to judge her performance was entirely biased. On the other side of the portal she has to turn around to face Kip and hear the comment about the possibility of either Nazario having gone through medical school. Nova looks at Rekani as they he exits the portal almost in jest. "Nah, only sexual healing...Drive your girl to the hospital hermano" She tosses the camera towards Ariana "You guys shouldn't leave this stuff on the ground, es malo, shits expensive." Yup Nova is high as fuck, distracted by the color the trees had flowing through them.

<FS3> DRAW! (Rolled by: Rekani)
Kip is half out of it as the trio comes back over. "Ari!" She takes the blonde's hair and summons a smile. "I...okay. I'll be okay just...doctor. Yes. Doctor." That sounds like a lovely idea. A normal spider bite, even a venomous one might not be considered deadly if treated in time. One from a labrador-sized spider? Probably a little more serious. Her leg is already turning colors and she's feverish. She looks towards the siblings, still maybe not totally convinced that this isn't some wild Dream.
Kip lifts up her own GoPro to give it to Ari to check for footage. Hopefully they got something. "You two came...It hasn't been two days...yet?" She refocuses. "But I am glad. You did." Closing her eyes for a moment. "Help me up." She muttered - to well, any of them.

<FS3> Victory for Rekani. (Rolled by: Rekani)
"She isn't related to you." Rekani retorts, making a dismissive waving motion with his hand like he was trying to flick something gross off of it, then points at Ariana, "Girl, you foul." He adds an open tongued look of disgust toward his sister, but he was only making jokes in the meantime to close the gap with Kip. He bends down and unceremoniously attempts to pick her up, regardless of protest or struggle... Which given Rekani's awkward size, was as difficult as Kip could make it. He realizes after he's got her up in a carry that he had left his doors locked. He tries to shift to retrieve his keys, can't, then, as he makes a disgusted look, his Glimmer can be felt firing off. His car chirps and unlocks itself as the force of his mind presses the button in his pocket, then pulls the handle, the door swinging open. He settles Kip into the passenger seat as carefully as possible, and likely smacks his forehead for his trouble.
Muttering to himself and rubbing his forehead, his phone was already in his hand as he was rounding the car, at least stating what he was doing, barring any protests or attempts to impede his progress, "Yo, I'm texting August and heading to the hospital." His door is pulled open and he flumps heavily into the driver's seat, the engine roaring to life as soon as he cranks the key over.
"Thank you" Ariana says to Nova for the camera. Is it one of theirs? The Russian is pretty sure she has hers and Kip has hers but, hey, free video camera. And if it belonged to Nova, there could be something interesting to watch on it. Ariana subtly slips it into her backpack. "Do you make tourniquets for spider bites?" She really should have listened more in first-aid class. Or even gone to them.
Reluctantly, she steps back from her friend after receiving the camera to let Rekani pick her up. "Be careful with her" she offers with some concern as the man seems to make quite a fist of getting Kip in the car. "Bozh'i korovki" she mutters under her breath, anxious to charge in and help but knowing she will only get in the way. "Don't worry, Kip, you will be at the hospital soon. I will follow." She slaps the top of the car. "Go!"
Looking a bit worse for wear - bruised, battered, enough bits of web over her to look like she's been in a sordid video - Ariana studies Nova once more. "Sexual healing? Was that an offer?" A beat. "I need a drink" she sighs before collecting Kip's gear and looking around. "And I have no idea where I am."
Kip would be fine! She was Russian and Nova was pretty sure you just poured vodka on Russian wound and they healed like anime bandages. Nova spends her time snicking at Rekani being romantic and then realizing his door was shut. Could she have helped? Yes, but the trees were hypnotizing. He had her, and Kip was one tough Mami. One thing Rekani says does cause Nova to look on in confusion. "Kip's not a plant though..." She was pretty sure her brothers lumberjack Jesus worked in like botany or something.
When it is just her and Ariana left she snaps back to reality, motioning to her galaxy and mandala patterned vehicle. "Yes, also we will beat them to the hospital if you hop in quickly. Tequlia in the gloves box, drifters honor." She climbs in to the drivers side and grins. She probably should have driven Kip but Rekani can't say she never did anything for him!
