Ariana is waiting up for her friend. Though, in this case, 'waiting up' means sleeping on a seat that has been aimed at the front door with a mostly empty bottle of vodka resting on her lap. After their excursion into the Veil, the pair really need to have a talk about what is next. They're on a goldmine here and the blonde has been working hard at modifying their equipment. Will it work? Only one way to find out.
Even more important than supernatural shenanigans, they need to have a talk about where Kip goes almost every evening. Well, Ariana does know, but it's not like Kip to get so serious. Her friend being in...love...is a stranger happening than the 'Fishmen of Atlasov' (Web Episode #23).
Kip doesn't spend the night at Rekani's all the time...but often enough that clearly something more serious is brewing that a 'friends with benefits' situation. A situation that Kip is hesitant to even try and delve in to. It's a delicate balance her mind and why mess up something good by putting labels in it? Tonight, Kip was not at the Latino's apartment though. Tonight she'd been working the box office at Starlight while doing a bit more research about Gray Harbor in general.
So she comes in wearing her work uniform and texting out something or other on her phone to her younger brother. Continuing to try and encourage him to at least come state side to visit. When Kip sees Ariana sleeping in the chair, she chuckles, setting her purse on the couch and going over to not take the vodka bottle, but straighten it some. "How long have you been sitting here?" She asks.
Sure Ariana is asleep, but she's known the woman to be a fairly light sleeper at times and just assumes she can be heard. One of the reason's she's maybe been spending more time away from home is because of their Veil adventure. She has no idea what to do next and a part of her is petrified about going in again so...ill prepared. More precautions definitely will need to be taken.
Ariana's eyes crack open slightly as she lifts the bottle with only a few drops of vodka left. "I sat down with a full bottle. With what is left I have been here...hmm...five minutes?" A yawn as she stretches out before opening her eyes fully with a few blinks. "Kinky" she notes flatly with a nod to the uniform. "Your boyfriend is into dressing up?" A stretch of her neck from side to side before she offers the dregs of the bottle to Kip.
"I was hoping we could have a talk tonight so I did not want to miss you when you got home." A wry smirk. "If you got home. Talk about what we saw in the Veil. What it means. Protecting ourselves better when we go back." There is no doubt in Ariana's mind that they are going back. "And we need to talk about your Hot Sausage fascination. Things are getting serious?"
Kip flushes just a little at the barrage of questions. "I was at the Theater. Doing the ticket selling." She said, "And he is not my boyfriend." He might as well be, but she is as stubborn as she is short so, Kip isn't going to budge unless something else gives. She takes the bottle so she can take a gulp from it before settling. "We should talk, yes. About the Veil and...everything I agree. I'm sorry I haven't been around much since the footage review." Which didn't really give much to go on but did confirm that their regular equipment - at least the way it was now - wasn't going to give them anything that was convincing. She finishes off the last little bit of the bottle in quick order. She knows Ari well enough to know there's at least two or three more bottles upstairs in her room.
She curled up on the couch, thinking a moment. "We will bring a flame thrower...and we have our abilities...maybe we bring one or two other people with us?" She half-asked. Mostly thinking out loud. "We were going to be spider food if Rekani and Nova had not shown up. So...safety in numbers as much as anything else, yes?" For the moment, Kip avoids the question of things getting serious. "And I will try not to be totally petrified if I see any size spider." She chuckled a bit but it was serious. Kip wasn't sure how she felt about spiders of any kind any more.
Finally circling back to the question of Rekani. "I do not know. Maybe? I like spending time with him. Not just sleeping with him. " She gave a little shrug. "He..." She started and then stopped and gave a wry little smile. "But I do not want to upset the balance. He can bring it up first. If he wants to. Why does there have to be labels on things anyway?"
"Labels can be very useful. It's how you know the difference between the vodka bottle and the one with the sulphuric acid" Ariana deadpans. "Helps you make the right decisions." A snort. "As if you ever sleep when you're with him. How's Nova? I should go watch her dance. You do know that you're both waiting for the other person to say something first, right? I didn't think you were the shy type."
"Flame thrower. Assault rifle...we are in the United States, we should be able to get them from the corner store. I need some more iron weapons. Have you done any research into what kinds of things live in there? Anything that can hurt them?" Kip does all the research as far as Ariana is concerned. "I think I know which people you want to bring with us" she smirks before shrugging. "Not that I would complain. Are they interested in such things?"
A jerk of her thumb in the direction of her room. "I've been doing some filter modifications on the cameras but we won't know if it works until we got back in. If they continue to only show garbage, maybe we should take someone who can draw really quick?" She purses her lips in though. "Maybe I should have asked are you still interested in such things? Having someone important, even if they don't have a label, might be a reason to avoid danger."
"We sleep sometimes." Kip laughed, giving a dismissive wave of her hand because she knew Ariana had a valid point. "I mean, probably." As far as just waiting for the other person. "I'm not usually. I mean, you know me. I'll walk right up to a guy on the street I think is cute and talk him to the closest bar. But it feels...different? And I like it but also...don't like it. Because feelings complicate things." She sets the glass bottle down at the foot of the couch. "Nova is doing good I think also. You definitely should see her dance. Get her to give you a lap dance." Kip teased a bit before shifting back in to researcher mode.
"I do not think Assault rifles and flame throwers are just for sale. Flame thrower would be easy to juryrig. Perhaps also molotov cocktails." Because ranged weapons were a good thing! "I will leave you in charge of weapon gathering. As for research? I have no delved too deeply for the simple fact there is no things to research? If that makes sense. No written works or articles or anything that I know of. Just sketchy history books and word of mouth. I can try to put some feelers out perhaps, see if I can get some people to give insight? I think an August might be good to talk to." She pushes a hand through her hair. "I do not know if they are interested...we can ask? But I do not want to force them to do anything and...after last time..." Her nose wrinkled a bit. "Like I said before, feelings complicate things. It might not be good to be in dangerous situations with him. For either of us."
Kip exhales softly, though looks interested at the mention of modifications. "I will be interested to see if it does. I'm sure we can find an artist. The problem is, of course, if we really want to try exposing this thing? We need photographs and videos. Not...drawings." Kip sighed. "But it would be a start." Brightening up a bit again. "I want to keep investigating. I want to learn about this other side, even just for my own personal knowledge. If it doesn't want to be exposed then so be it. But I want to know."
"I'd be wanting more than a lapdance" Ariana deadpans before mustering something close to a concerned look for her friend. "Feelings? Who are you and what have you done to Kip? There is plenty that complicates things. Feelings. Farting in bed. Wearing a strap-on as a surprise birthday present. But you already spend plenty of time at his place so why not just go for it. If he freaks out, move on. You think you would have trouble finding someone else?"
"I will take care of the flamethrower. Molotov Cocktails is a terrible waste of alcohol but we can do that too. It's not as if we don't have bottles on us at ll times anyway." Ariana frowns at the lack of research possibilities. "How can that be? People love to talk about these kinds of things. To hear about them. That is how we live the life of luxury we do." A dismissive wave of her hand. "Or will do one day. Why is it all so hidden? Should I meet this August?" She considers her own question. "No, maybe not. It is best that he meets you alone first. I can do 'bad cop' later if it is needed."
The blonde stares at Kip for a long moment before slowly pointing out. "I was kidding about the artist. It was meant to be a joke." A wry smirk. "I think you have Rek on the mind so much you are misunderstanding my riotous sense of humor." Her voice as deadpan as ever. "We can still do 'reenactments' for the channel. If we cannot get proper recordings of it then that becomes the story. Why can't we? Is it sentient? But we shall cross that bridge when we come to it...and hope that a troll is not beneath." Time for random question. "What movie are you showing at the cinema?"
"Well, yeah but lapdance is a good way to start, no?" Kip chuckled. "You can use it to lead in to bringing her back here or going back to hers after her shift!" She suggests, and then chuckles a bit again when Ari lists off things that are complicated. A somewhat dramatic sigh escapes as she nods. "You are right. I know you are. If he freaks out about it, clearly I can do better. And maybe it is just like that time I thought I was in love with-" She shudders at the thought, "Dimitri." When he had first come on to the team. Her expression screws up in disgust. Thankfully that had been extremely short lived since he proved himself to be an asshole not long after. And his skills in bed were not nearly enough to redeem that.
"Well, I know that this Veil likes to hide itself? So maybe it is sentient. Or perhaps the ones who rule in it are making it seem so. The few who understand it may talk, but no one is phoning the media. Probably because of this," Kip motions down to the vodka bottle and it starts to levitate. She moves it to settle on the coffee table and looks back to Ari. "If people start digging, they'll discover a lot of the town is like this. Well. Perhaps not a lot but a fair group. Including us. And you don't think the government will come down hard on here?"
Of course Kip has thought about government involvement. Perhaps not as much as Ariana has over the years, but she's seen enough movies to know that the government would always be far too interested. She gives a little grin at the artist comment. "I don't know. It maybe was a joke but it was a good suggestion too. It could be good to have reference pictures. Because like you say. We can reenact, and we can discuss on the channel, and show them."
Her head tilts a bit, "This week we are showing 'The Thing', 'Dracula', and 'Psycho'. Starlight specializes in showing the older horror movies. We should do a movie night there on an off day. It would be fun. Plus, free small popcorn and discounts on the other concessions."
"There are worse ways to start than a lapdance" Ariana nods in agreement. "I think we would go wherever you and her brother were not. Assuming she was interested of course." A beat. "Of course she would be" is added with the casual air of certainty. A shake of her head at the mention of the Dimitri Affair - not a spying incident but a failure of intelligence far worse. "You do know that he still claims he dropped you? That you were too clingy? He wishes."
Ariana listens to Kip's theories on the Veil and watches the bottle float before she hits where it hurts the blonde most. Having been a resident of a Russian government facility for a number of years she knows all about what could happen to the people here. The memories causing her to drain the last of the vodka and look around for another bottle. She never goes anywhere with only one. "Maybe the Veil and all the people like us are the same thing? The 'powers' generate the Veil and because the people have no idea what they are doing, it has become a melange of nightmares and wayward thoughts. It seems sentient but it the subconscious of perhaps hundreds of people all working against each other?" This is why she leaves Kip to do the thinking. Such a silly idea.
"A free small popcorn and discounts on overpriced concessions. You have hit the big time, Kip" Ariana deadpans in her way. "Sure, we can go to the movies. You do know that every day is an off day for me. All I am doing is working on the equipment and eating through my savings. Okay...drinking through my savings. Maybe I should get a job too? Though I would not look as good in that uniform as you so maybe not an usher at the movie house. I don't suppose they need someone to look after the projection equipment? I assume it is all digital?"
Kip rolled her eyes again. "Of course he does. Because he has to be the macho man. But I do not care what he says. We all know the truth. And I never have to see his face again." She shrugged.
Studying Ari for a moment, she made a thoughtful noise at the suggestion. "I'm not sure. That may very well at least be a factor...something we could look into at least." Kip flashed a grin. "You have a good idea every once in a while. I think we should try getting closer to the edge of the forest. Deeper in, where it bleeds into more fantastical things. See if we can study it a bit. Without getting chomped in half." Kip pushes herself up to her feet.
"I know right? It is a good gig." Kip laughed. "A job might be a good idea. Something to keep a bit of money flowing. Thewlis is the owner of the Starlight. I can ask him about the digital versus projection. I assume digital but I could be wrong." She thinks for a moment. "Why not bartending? I am sure that one of the bars could use an extra hand." Kip suggests, raising a brow. "Are you hungry? I don't know what I'm making yet, but I will put something together."
"Dimitri says it was never his face you were interested in" Ariana winks before bouncing up from her seat to find another bottle. "You want to go further into the woods? The tangled underbrush of the subconscious mind" she muses before shaking her head at such cod philosophy. "Then we definitely need the flamethrower. And I think you need to learn how to make one of those portals that works the other way. Get Rekani to show you between bouts."
A cry of triumph at finding another bottle which she immediately opens and downs a few mouthfuls from. Ariana's eyes narrow at Kip's job suggestion. "Work at a bar? Me? That would be like putting a lion in charge of the zoo. Not only would I drink all the product, I would bite the heads off anyone who spoke to me. I can do both types of projection. With digital projection, most cinemas are happy for the concession stand seller to switch it on. Never look at focus or framing or illumination...just switch it on." She offers over the bottle while plonking back down on her seat. "Starving. Whatever you cook will be a masterpiece."
Kip laughs at the crack about Dimitri. "Well, not entirely wrong." She agrees, rummaging around in the kitchen. "Well, the city is the stable parts right? So, the further out we go, the more unstable. The more we will be able to maybe understand it all better? How it flows and works?" She suggested and chuckled again. "I should get him to show me. It is really for everyone's safety if I learn how." She agrees.
She starts pulling things out of the fridge. There's another laugh as Ari counters her bar suggestion. "That is fair. You would have no paycheck left because it all would have to go towards the alcohol you drank." She does accept the offered bottle to take a swig before handing it back. "I will make meatballs and mashed potatoes. Simple, easy." Kip nods. "And I will ask Thewlis about it. See if he is open to at least talking to you." She offers up.
"What do you think of Gray Harbor as a whole? Besides the shenanigans. I am trying to get Peter to come down to visit. Mostly to open his eyes to the fact that he could follow his dreams here rather than become a boring dentist." Peter, of course, being her younger brother that Ariana probably knows of and has met a handful of times.
"Of course this Thewlis will talk to me. I am a lovely, considerate, hard-working..." Ariana enjoys another mouthful of her vodka/."...sexy, polite..." She lets out a large burp before another mouthful of her drink. "...saintly woman who will increase the value of his business. Meatballs sounds good...though are you sure you're not still thinking about Dimitri."
"How far do you think the strangeness goes out from town? There must be a limit to it. If the town itself is the stable part, then there must be a ring of unstable before it becomes stable again. So, what keeps it in check? Is the town like a sun that keeps the Veil trapped in its supernatural gravity?" She peers at the bottle in her hand. "How much of this have I drunk? The town is fine. Better than some, worse than others. Sure, tell Peter to come on over. I think I may have a loose filling. How is he? Does he know about your non-boyfriend?"
Kip grinned, "Of couse he will. You will not intimidate him at all." She mused. "Of course I am," thinking of Dimitiri. "The meat is his head, and I get to squish it. It will be very satisfying." She nodded matter of factly.
"That is a good question." Kip nodded about the stability. "I am not sure how it works...or what really makes Gray Harbor the stable area. Unless it's because there are so many of us wih powers that it makes it stable? A gravity like you say. Another thing to look in to. " She said as she started adding seasonings into the meet.
There's a laugh at the questions about Peter. "He is okay. He is finished with Pre-Dentist things. Having a bit of a crisis now that he is faced with actually about to do dentist school stuff." She shruggd and smirked a bit. "No. He probably suspects from a few of our recent conversations, but I have not elaborated. I also, of course, didn't tell him about the spiders."
"A good idea not to tell him about the spiders. Though it might make him come quickly if you do." Ariana watches the wonder of cooking with some interest. The only think that the blond has ever needed in her kitchen was a phone. "You know the college here teaches dentistry? If you really want to have your brother underfoot then he can come study here. If he gets a Visa and all the other things that they demand these days."
Ariana has no family worthy of the name anymore and never had siblings...that she knows of...so Kip's affection for her brother is a bit strange to her. "Anything I can do to help?" she asks with a nod to the cooking. From experience, the best thing she can do to help is stay well away.
"We need to talk to August. Investigate how far the Veil stretches. Research what we can about it from other sources. Acquire or make weapons. See if my modifications to the cameras have worked." A nod at the checklist. "Easy. I do not want to be covered with all that sticky white stuff again" she adds with an innocent smile.
"That is why he should visit first. Though, he does not want to be a dentist. Mom and dad want him to be a dentist. Unfortunately for them," Kip grinned to Ariana, "They raised rebels." She nods over to the sack of potatoes on the counter. "You can peel a handful of those if you want? For the mashed potatoes. Like 3 or 4." She decided as she started mixing the meat together. "If I told him about the spiders he might come here just to drag me back to Russia because I've gone cuckoo." Kip laughed.
"Yes, I agree about talking to August. I think he owns a business in town. I will try to dig up his contact information. Or see if Rekani has a cellphone number for him to text. And we can set up a meeting hopefully to talk." Kip agreed. "And surely he can inform us of other people who might be useful to chat with. I hope your modifications work. You're a genius when it comes to those things. Maybe it's just a matter of figuring out a frequency? Do recordings of video work like that?" She looked over to Ari, starting to form the meatballs and set them in the pan on the stove.
"You are lucky I am handling food." Kip mock threatened at the 'sticky stuff' comment and then grinned. "After we eat you can show me the new set up."
"Frequencies maybe in the waves of light received" Ariana replies about video, "If that is what you mean. The chip converts what it sees into digital information. Numbers. So I can adjust it to see broader spectrum of light and filter out wavelengths. Which is what I am trying to do. But, as we saw, it has an effect on what the camera is recording. Our eyes see one thing, the machine sees another. Hmm, I might take a Super 8 camera next time too. See if it effects chemical reactions."
"You have not met this August yet? Rekani knows him? And Rekani can't tell you much about this town himself? You know, when he does not have his mouth occupied" Ariana winks while starting on the potatoes. She will even wash them...by pouring vodka over them. "It is a delicious touch" she assures Kip before the faintest of smiles. "You think I am a genius? Hmm...well...you are clever, so I must be."
"What does Peter want to do if he doesn't want to stick his fingers in other people's mouths? Where does he want to stick them? He knows what you do, doesn't he? He's since your channel. We have talked about more than spiders before. There were the Mermen on that island. The werewolves at the mining camp. The harpies on Lesbos. Oh...wait...that last one was just a really clingy woman. Okay, we don't have a lot of proof about what we have seen, but we have seen them."
"Something like that." Kip nods at the explanation of the video and how the chip converts things. "I'm sure it will require much trial and error." She mused. "That would be interesting to see. Chemical reactions being affected." She quieted for a brief moment as she thought and finished off making the meatballs. Now it was just all about making sure they didn't burn in the pan. She shrugs, relaxing against the counter. "I haven't. Well...no, I haven't." She decided. "I think I have seen him around town but never a formal introduction. Rekani has ended up in some of the crazy Dream-like situations with him. Apparently they do not discriminate and they will pull you in from whatever you are doing, whenever." Kip frowned for a moment before shaking it off.
"No, Rekani and Nova got here just before or after I did. But I think being here has altered their powers some because he says he used to be able to do mind stuff and now he can't. At least not as well as he used to?" She shrugged. There's just a bit of a grin at the vodka pour for the potatoes. Of course it will taste good. It's vodka.
"Video editing? Producing? Music thing? Something like that. He could probably learn a thing or two from you on the technical aspect. So many good reasons for him to come over here." She chuckled. "He has seen it but he is still skeptical. I haven't shown him my abilities in person. Or really talked about them. What is there to talk about, you know?" She smirked. "I thought that woman was going to try and hide herself in your luggage. She was scary." Kip laughed.
"So dreams are real here too? Of course, why not? Though that does seem to give more credence to the idea that the people here are creating the Veil themselves. A vicious circle kind of thing. Special people create the Veil which creates more special people which create more Veil until it reaches a critical mass to become self-sufficient. Or something like that." Ariana is not the thinker and no one can convince her otherwise. Though she's also the kind of person who isn't shy in offering her rubbish opinions.
"Altered powers? Interesting. But it seems like it has made him weaker?" Ariana thinks on this a moment before getting back to the important stuff. "Boil the potatoes in vodka too. And then, when they are soft for mashing, add cheese, garlic and sour cream." All the carbs!
A snort of amusement about the Harpy of Lesbos. "I thought she was going to put me in her luggage. In pieces. Passionate fuck but happy never to see her again. I think she'd probably just grabbed onto the next super hot blonde that came along next." Ariana hair tosses her blonde locks. "Not that they would be as awesome as me" she teases in her deadpan way.
"I didn't know Peter was all creative like that. Good for him. And you should not hide things from your brother. What if he has powers like you? He could be terrified and think he is the only one. You should tell him. Or I will tell him. That way he will know it is not bullshit" Ariana suggests before adding, "I don't do bullshit."
"Some at least. I dream all the time but it is not like...the robot thing. I think it is just a term the people use. But that is a thought." Kip pondered. "Perhaps a cycle but also has spiraled in to it's own entity thing as well." She grabbed a pair of tongs to turn the meatballs over. "Weaker in the mind stuff at least. He is very strong in the way my powers work? Stronger than me. I can kind of sense that if I focus on it." She laughs at the comment about the potatoes. "Is there any other way to eat them?" She asked with a raised brow.
Soon enough there a pot put on the stove and she empties part of the bottle Ariana has into it, but does use a little water to make up the rest before putting the potatoes in and leaning against the counter again and grinned. "Of course not Ari. Clearly you the awesomest of hot blondes. She is surely still pining after you. Along with all your other conquests." An affectionate tease to her friend.
On the subject of Peter, Kip makes a thoughtful noise. "You're right. Maybe I should. It is not a conversation to have over the phone though. You know? I will talk to him about it when he comes here...but if all else fails and he does not come to visit. Well, I will poke a bit to see what he might or might not know or be capable of." She nods. "And then I will sic you on him to confirm all the crazy things."
"I don't do conquests. I like to think of it more like a surgical strike. Get in, do what's needed with the maximum amount of activity, then get out before they realise what's happening" Ariana deadpans as she finds the various ingredients for the special mash. "The trouble with the Harpy was that she wanted to be occupied. Not my thing." She's never shy of being intimate but Ariana has never felt the need for intimacy. Much too dangerous. One of the things that she and Kip have in common. Or had in common.
"Should I set the table?" Ariana asks...but it is probably a joke. "Nah, we can flop on the couch and watch something. Unless you can't stand the thought after a day of watching movies. Must be a tough job" she teases. "It would be nice to see Peter again" she adds after a moment of reflection. The bottle securely back in her hands as she inspects the cooking food and offers a nod of approval. "I have missed your cooking" she admits with a sigh. "Good to have the team back together. Even if it sounds like it's going to have a bigger line-up soon." A teasing wink before finding some plates for them.
"You and Rek have the same kind of powers? It looked like Nova could do what I could do too. Though she can do a hell of a lot more with her ass than I can with mine" Ariana smirks before holding up a hand. "Now, before you think that I'm only interested in her ass, I am not that shallow. She also has a great pair of tits."
Kip looked a bit amused, "A good tactic. Speaking of surigical strikes. Certainly Nova isn't the only one you have eyes on here?" She rose a brow. "There are lots of pretty women in Gray Harbor from what I've seen." She turns the meatballs again and checks on the potatoes.
"Couch eating is always comfortable and sure we can watch something." She laughed. "After all, I do not watch the movies while I am working. So I can stand some television." She pulled out a bowl in preparation for mashing the potatoes. "I'm sure Peter would like to see you again too. He likes your straightforwardness."
"I have missed cooking." Kip agrees. "I was not totally comfortable utilizing this kitchen until recently. Our landlady is nice but still." She shrugged. "Once we have some more money behind us, how would you feel about maybe moving into the Broadleaf Apartments? Or finding a different house we might be able to go in on with others?" Since those were the cheapest options. "I would rather feel like we have the entirety of the spaces you know?"
Kip nods. "We do, but he clearly knows more about it." Then she chuckled. "Nova does enjoy doing that...dance fighting thing. It seems to work very well for her too." Her brows waggled a bit. "Clearly. You are the least shallow person I know." Grinning again. The potatoes were ready not long after and she took them out carefully, starting to mash them in the bowl with a fork.
"Hey, I can do guys too" Ariana protests - not very strenuously. "All I ask is that they can last longer than it takes me to drink a bottle of vodka. Which, let's fact it, isn't too much to ask. Though, let's face it, women are much better looking." A casual shrug about who she may have eyes on. "You remember that woman we met at the bus station when I arrived?" A little wiggle of her eyebrows before she moves on.
"Oh please, Peter has a crush on me. Admit it. 'likes your straightforwardness' is code for 'wants to bang you senseless'" she teases before a gentle shoulder nudge of Kip. "Just kidding. He can do better. He could have his choice of dental students if he went there."
The talk of housing has Ariana looking a little surprised. "Sure, we can move into our own place. I guess I was starting to think there was someone else you'd like to move in with. You know, once you finally tell each other how you feel. But of course I will be happy to live with you in somewhere we can do our work without being watched. Sisters before misters, right?"
"Dance fighting? She's damn good at it" Ariana laughs about Nova's style before a frown more sad than her usual expression. The blonde remembering her own days as a dancer that were cut short by government studies. She could have been a famous ballerina but there is no point dwelling on it. Not when there is vodka to drink. "We could watch one of those American ghost hunter shows and laugh at how bad they are."
"Ohh reallyyy?" Kip grinned when Ari mentioned the girl from the bus station. "I want to hear all the dirty details when your strike mission is complete." She chuckled. The potatoes are mashed, seasoned, and cheesed up. The stove gets turned off as the meatballs are finished and she starts plating everything up. She laughed again at the remark about her younger brother. "I'm sure the thought passed his mind before I had explained he was not quite your type. While I do not want to think of my brother as good-looking I'm sure he has many girls fawning over him and he might not even notice." She mused.
She handed a plate to Ari, smile softening a bit as she noticed the expression on her friend's face. "Come, yes. We will eat and laugh at them and talk about how they have no idea what they are dealing with." She grinned then, walking over towards the living room to settle in and start navigating the channels.
