Elizabeth
My heart and heartbreak. Thought our dreams were closer than they were.

System Information

The Waffle Shoppe - She owns it. As of a couple years ago. Moved in and bought the place up out of nowhere. Probably a reason why.
Family Legacy - Her parents own an assortment of rather nice, highly reviewed restaurants on the east coast. She grew up in the industry.
Navy Pilot - But then fucked off to follow her own dream of becoming a fighter pilot. And she really liked it. For a while.
Baltimore Native - Definitely not from around here. Grew up on the other side of the country.
San Diego - She was stationed in San Diego for a while prior to moving to Gray Harbor and retiring from service.
Romantic - Rumor has it that she moved out here for looooove. And it didn't really work out.
Pup - She's got a beautiful grey pit bull named Yarrow who will gladly wiggle for your affection.
Weird - Life's been weirder since she settled here. She tries to take it in stride.

Reese grew up in Baltimore. She grew up in money. She grew up in restaurants. Her parents run a successful restaurant management business responsible for several well-received east coast eateries ranging from casual contemporary to haute cuisine. Her parents didn't have any dreams of her taking over or getting into the business. Instead, they saved up enough that she had her pick of colleges, that she could pursue whatever dream she wanted. She enlisted with the Navy.

She served for more than a decade before it started to feel stifling, before the boys club culture got to be oppressive with the cultural shift creeping across the country. By that time, she'd already met Elizabeth. She'd already fallen in love. They each dreamt up a life together which might've worked out alright, maybe, if Elizabeth's mom hadn't gotten sick, if Elizabeth hadn't moved back to Gray Harbor. She told Reese not to follow, but...

It felt like a sign when she saw there was a cute little diner in town in need of an owner, in need of expertise she grew up with. She probably should have asked her girlfriend first, made sure they were on the same page. But it felt like fate.

Nothing really went to plan after that. They tried to make a go of it, but they found that what they wanted out of life was increasingly different at every pass. They could have probably negotiated that distance, but there's one thing they're almost certainly never going to agree one. The more Reese told Elizabeth about her weird experiences since settling in Gray Harbor, the wider the wedge between them, the believer and the skeptic forever at odds.

Despite the break-up, Reese is sticking around. She's invested in the Waffle Shoppe and likes the life she's got here. Mostly. This definitely isn't quite what she'd hoped for.

Standing around 5'7", she carries herself with a calm sort of confidence, an effortless ease to her bearing. Her features tend toward masculine, with a wide jaw and high cheekbones, pointed brows set low over her pale eyes, but there's a girlishness to her smile that dispels any questions of gender. The right side of her head is shaved, her long brown hair usually flopping over to the left. She tends toward tee shirts and jeans, even when handling official business, casual by nature, but she polishes up real nice when there's occasion to wear a suit.

2019-11-28 - Thankful for...
**Open vignette scene.** Feel free to share a snippet of your character's Turkey Day. Could be anything - something that happens/ed off-camera, a character you didn't get a chance to play, a misty water-colored memory, whatever's clever. Note that this isn't a "live" scene in the traditional sense; just a collection of vignettes around a common theme. I'll be leaving it open until Friday the 16th at around 4:30 PM Pacific / 7:30 PM Eastern.
