Rookie cop. Brother of Claire. Seems to take his job seriously, and at least took me seriously when I talked about things I probably shouldn't have. Good guy. I've promised to babysit him. Roped him into the Sea View investigation. We'll see if he has the chops to move up in the world.
I have determined that he will date the other rookie. I will have my rookmance. This will not be denied.
Rookie cop, roped her into the Sea View Murders investigation. Hot, possibly shipping her with the other rookie. I live vicariously, don't judge me. Might have a problem with detectives (because we're totally boss). This is one of the cases that will see if she'd make a good one. Prefers unicorn donuts.
Don't let the mean outer shell fool you, on the inside she's self-righteous, judgemental, and has a temper. Has an actual personality behind all of that somewhere, though I doubt most people will ever see it. Tessa Chen can let her hair down and have fun. Who knew!?
Has replaced her personality with money. Vain, shallow, and an asshole. Looks and her bank account are about all she's got going on. Totally can believe she'd ice her husband.
Hollywood - Detective Stevens hails from the land of sun and fun, Los Angeles California! She's always willing to share the weirdest celebrity run-ins and best horror stories of big city living. But if you recognize her from a few select late-night Cinemax features, best to keep it to yourself.
Cop - In Los Angeles, Sarah worked her way up from patrol to undercover Vice work, and eventually to Detective, Vice. Drugs, sex trafficking, and such things are her specialty, but this town isn't really big enough to split it's police officers up into exclusive task forces. So now she handles all sorts of crimes, from missing horses to murder.
Morally Ambiguous - She will absolutely step outside of procedure when necessary! Or even convenient. She's not quite a dirty cop, but she definitely doesn't play by all the rules and isn't squeaky clean, either. Also not a NARC. Absolutely willing to let lesser evils slide on by to stop the bigger ones.
Glimmer - She does it. She's also learned there is Weird Shit out there and is currently seeking answers. Sarah is beginning to realize there is something worse than crime that the town needs to be protected from, and that staying true to the badge and protecting Gray Harbor's citizens might be incompatible goals.
Addiction - She's a recovered addict, 4 years clean! It's not uncommon for those who work undercover to be forced to do drugs to maintain cover. It's also not uncommon for addictions to happen. She got help. She got better. Will she stay better?
Sports - Sports freak, especially football! Go Rams! Fancy a beer while watching a game?
Surfing - Catch some rad waves, bro? She used to do this regularly around the usual California spots. Now she does it when she can in and around Gray Harbor, even if the waves are truly lacking.
Spanish - She was a cop in California. Speaking it is basically a job requirement.
LGBT - Out and proud!
Pottymouth - You have been warned. Expletives will drop with regularity.
Sailing - She lives on a catamaran at the dock! Are you also a boat afficionado? Do you also love cruising the waters and all things the Life Aquatic? Then let us revel in our superior lifestyles together!
Cinephile - Always ready to reference the events in her life to some movie she saw last week or two decades ago.
All cameras seem to love Sarah Stevens, and she seems to love them back, quick with a smile when warranted, or a sorrowful bent to her brow, or a no-nonsense, tough look when a case requires it. Her blonde hair seems to reflect more light than it absorbs, leaving those yellow tresses shimmering in most forms of light, and fading to an almost auburn in dimmer. Hazel eyes stare out of a lightly-tanned face, her features immactulately sculpted and manicured, seemingly always ready for her closeup on a procedural crime drama. Detective Hollywood is on the case!
Sarah is over five-and-a-half feet tall, but closer to that than she is to six feet, unless she's in heels. Her body is athletic, a result of a job that requires training, gym workouts, and a personal adherence to a strict diet, lean muscle and curves blending into a deceptively delicate feminine figure. She rarely wears earrings, despite her pierced ears. On the rare occasion her navel is exposed, it is also pierced. An anklet is usually attached to her right leg with a small charm of Spades and the letter Q attached. A pair of dogtags usually hangs around her neck, under her shirt.
