Touchy, mostly about names.
An old friend, the best.
A new friend, and I'm glad of it.
We lived together for a time, and you were so precious to me before. Now? What are you doing here?
A software engineer out of Seattle with a keen interest in internet culture and mathematics, Tanasha Jones was a rising comet in a young tech company at the time of the Crash. The Crash is how she remembers the incident -- waiting for the green light at a pedestrian crossing and seeing the car come straight at the people crossing the other road at far, far too high speed. The young mother trying to push her pram out of the way but not managing to move quite fast enough. And the sensation of her mind going click.
The car engine exploded. The (presumably drunk) driver was killed on the spot. The mother and her baby made it safely to the curb. And the incident, while tragic, was never linked to Tanasha Jones, standing nearby, obviously uninvolved.
The next time her mind went click was at a small software expo. The older salesman who groped her backside sustained severe burn wounds on his hand. He never pressed charges. Tanasha never regretted for an instant punishing the jerk, but she did start to wonder if she was the only person with this kind of -- ability. She started to wonder, too, if she was dangerous. When the opportunity to telecommute presented itself, she accepted and started looking for a place to live outside the big city -- somewhere with a lot of empty where she might go and find out exactly what it is that she can do.
A place such as a small town on the edge of a National Park. Gray Harbor is a new and unexplored country to Tanasha, but so far, she kind of likes what she has seen. The town has that small-town feeling that you probably need to be a resident for seven generations to really be accepted as a local; and yet there appears to be a fair number of folks with accents revealing them to be anything but PNW natives. Maybe Gray Harbor isn't so boring after all.
Young, tawny, proud. All adjectives that sum up Tanasha Jones. Add well dressed and sporty, and you've just about covered it. Software designers tend to do a lot of sitting still, and Tanasha compensates with gym hours, walks in the woods (where things sometimes blow up, fancy that) and yoga. Expect her to be dressed for the occasion, whatever the occasion happens to be.

2021-11-22 - Nice Young People All In A Row
It's your normal day in the coffee shop. Ravn gets served something undrinkable, the locals come out to say hi, and everyone gets grannied - except for the granny. That'd be weird.

2021-07-10 - One of Us (Just a Slob Like One of Us?)
We've watched //Frozen// thirty times. We're getting tired of //My Neighbour Totoro// too. Now is a good time to hide in the high school cafeteria, grab a quick cup of coffee, and maybe breathe. Screw you, Hurricane Cimaron.
