Tyler
Tyler Wellington was the only child of Frances and John Wellington, two meth addicts living in the Huckleberry trailer park. Frances did whatever she needed to support her next high while John barely held a job at a local factory to pay the rent and maintain his own high. They spent little time with Tyler, letting the television or whoever happened to be squatting on the couch do most of the babysitting.
As Tyler grew, Frances' drug abuse increased to the point that she was never sober, usually laying aimless around in a corner. John kept his addiction together just enough to keep bouncing from crummy job to crummy job, but his time at home was primarily spent doing drugs and bossing Tyler around. Tyler became their servant, essentially raising himself and only getting the attention of his father when John was screaming at him to do something or beating him for having forgotten to wash the dishes.
When Tyler was thirteen, John tossed him through a glass screen door, slicing his hands severely and breaking his left arm. John didn't even check on him, returning to his meth. Tyler retreated to his room, where a now high John again assaulted the boy for breaking the door. As John's punches landed on Tyler, Tyler's glimmer exploded in a flash of fiery anger. He awoke in a hospital to learn that his mother and another addict died in the fire, and his father was being treated for first degree burns. After being treated, John was charged with a laundry list of charges and has been in prison ever since.
Tyler spent the rest of his childhood living with several different foster families, and overall, he turned out fairly well, becoming a firefighter in Gray's Harbor. He loves the outdoors - hiking and surfing in the nearby waters of the Pacific being amongst his favorite pastimes. His parents drug abuse left him with a disdain for substance abuse that even keeps him from drinking alcohol. Unfortunately, it also trained him to be emotionally numb and struggling to feel anything easily.

Local: Tyler grew up in Gray's Harbor. You might know about his rough childhood with druggy parents and a home lost to a fire.
Outdoorsman: Tyler didn't spend much time outdoors in his youth, so he's making up for lost time. He spends much of his free time surfing and hiking.
Tyler is an attractive young man with flippant brown hair who stands 5"9' tall. He's small, but his thin waist is overshadowed by his large arms and thick chest – clearly an athlete of some kind who spends plenty of time maintaining his body. He's usually wearing simple clothes, such as jeans and a T-shirt. When he isn't wearing contacts, his brown eyes are covered by trendy, large black plastic frame glasses.
