This room is a generic motel room, dark patterned carpet, maroon bedspreads, crisp white sheets usually freshly laundered despite the patina of neglect that has overtaken the outside of the motel. There are bedside tables between the two full-size beds and on either side, or, if it's a king, just one on either side with a lamp. There's a long dresser supporting an old, boxy television, a small wooden table with two wooden chairs upholstered to match the carpet for 'business'. A small ensuite bathroom has a tub with shower, shower curtain that draws back, a small coffee machine, often out of filters, and a hairdryer attached to the wall. There are slightly scratchy towels, always more available on request. There's a bible in the bedside table what looks new. The phone is an old style corded one, and the alarm clock sometimes goes off in the middle of the night without being set. The walk-out back balcony has a sad pair of chairs and a small glass table. The view is of the boardwalk eateries and establishments, not the sea itself.
