Harbor Mist Pawn has been a part of the community for over sixty years with the Winslow family generations running it. It started as a profitable business, but the original owner with flair for the haggle died in the eighties and left his son Hank Winslow in charge. The following decades saw the shop in a downfall spiral that relied on debtors to stay operational, and his rumored gambling and drinking problem likely had a lot to do with it.
This year, the pawn shop was rebuilt after a fire, and there was a loft apartment added at the request of Hank's daughter Lilith. She was returning home from Miami to pick up the reins, clean up his problems, and keep the family business from defaulting into the hands of a debtor. She's a good haggler, having been around the business her whole life, and she's quite generous about the items she deems interesting. People can even get cash for broken things, but they never really stay broken and that's no doubt a boon to the profit margin. Anyone that pays attention would notice most items tend to go out in a better state of repair or restoration than the original condition, courtesy of her handy hobby and repair work.
There are rumors the shop is under the thumb of the local criminal group, the source of the original debt.
