Branch & Bole and Out on a Limb

This moderate sized, wood-sided, green metal roofed building has housed numerous different businesses over the years, including an 'antique' shop and a consignment store. The ornamental, two-placard sign positioned by the roadside, where parking is available along a low, stone wall, reads BRANCH & BOLE on the top, and OUT ON A LIMB on the bottom. The stone wall forms the boundary of a garden out front of the building, through which a dusty white and gray, crushed shell path meanders to the front entrance. A sampling of the pottery and plants available inside and around back is stacked by the door, as are some windchimes of wood and shimmering copper.

To the East of the building are the large, bulk bags of fertilizer, resting on pallets and enclosed in a chain link corral. Beyond those, the three bucket trucks of Out on a Limb, all surplussed USFS equipment, sit, ready to go. To the West, two Gothic arch green houses flank an open ended, Quonset-style canopy. Rows and racks and tables of plants fill these structures, and a path, bordered by rocks and pots for sale, leads customers through the outdoor section of the shop.

Advertisements:

Pinned up near the door is a letter-sized advertisement for JUNIPER WILSON LANDSCAPING. It has a couple of photos of nicely designed gardens, the usual 'no job too big, no job too small' notation, and a cell phone number to call for quotes. There are also a small stack of slightly dog-eared business cards for the same.

Allotment Gardens:

The area behind the shop has been marked off with stakes and twine into a series of 16 squares, with an ambling path leading between them to the private greenhouse in the back.
