Addington Park

Rumor has it that long ago, an escaped convict murdered several prominent members of the Addington family while they were picnicing in the park and then continued on a murderous rampage throughout the town. Now, years and years later, the land has been re-dedicated to become Addington Park, in memoriam of the family that was unnecessarily slaughtered. Of course, that's likely just townie flavor.

Unlike the story from which the name was derived, Addington Park is a pleasant and picturesque feature of Gray Harbor and only ten minutes from downtown. Spacious and open, the park is full of rolling hills and flattened picnic land, dotted with trees of nearly every variety. Cobblestone roads form a cross that lead to the park's center, where an old-fashioned carousel sits to delight the boys and girls on a daily basis. The park is lit up at night by wrought iron lamps evenly spaced along the way.
