30 Spruce Street

This modest duplex was built in the 1980s, though it has been remodeled in the last few years. It's a simple two-story place, and the left half is rented by Tyler Wellington. The front door opens into a humble living room space. A staircase leads upward to the left of the door and a well-used surfboard leans against the railing. There is a brown leather couch that faces a wall where a 30-inch television is mounted. Along the outside wall, under the window, there is a table with a record player and a rack of records sits beside it. A black and white framed photograph of a beach and giant waves hangs on the opposite wall, but otherwise, the room is sparse, empty and undecorated. There are no personal affects, making the space feel almost like a demo room in a furniture store.

Up the stairs, a landing features only a bookcase, though it is entirely empty save for a few textbooks from firefighting and first responder classes. A single door leads to the only bedroom in the home. The bedroom is spacious, the largest room in the house. There is a king-sized bed made with military care and a dresser with nothing on top of it. The rest of the barren space is filled with a weight bench and a set of dumbells.
