Over Memorial Day Weekend, the troupe puts on a performance of Macbeth, during which they take the Glimmering audience members into a Dream. There, the head of the troupe, a man most people only know as Keene, makes a demand: they sacrifice one of their own to the Dark Men, or he will kill them all. Instead, the Gray Harbor residents turn on the troupe. All of the theater company are killed except Megan, who escapes somewhere into the Veil. |
