Text

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Hi Alex.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : It's Violet

(TXT to Alex) Violet : are you at work today?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Hello, Violet.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I am.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Are you?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Yes.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Sort of anyway?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : The door is open but I'm upstairs.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : It's a slow day

(TXT to Violet) Alex : The door to the shop is open, but you're upstairs?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Don't you worry about getting robbed?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I can hear the bell. If someone was going to rob me, they'd rob me if I was downstairs or upstairs.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't know if robbing antique stores is a thing anyway

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I've never been robbed

(TXT to Violet) Alex : You don't worry that someone that might not rob you if you were there will do it just because there's no one to see them do it?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : No one has ever been robbed until they have been.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I guess you're right.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : But if a robber was going to rob me, don't you think they'd rob me even if the door was closed?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : There's glass. It breaks easy. I don't have an alarm.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I just don't think the state of the door is really a determination as to whether or not the robber will rob me

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I don't mean a robber might rob you. I mean a not-robber might rob you.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : A crime of opportunity.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Wouldn't a not-robber who robs be a robber?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Fair point.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : But that means that you'll be robbed AND a person that wouldn't otherwise have been a robber became a robber.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Because your door is unlocked.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Are you trying to insinuate I'm tempting someone into a life of crime because I wanted to play piano for a bit upstairs?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : If they are that desperate for an old book, maybe I would just let them have it anyway.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I think I'm trying to insinuate that it's much easier to lock your door than file a police report.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I like the lamp that you have. I wouldn't steal a book, but if no one was around to notice that I put the lamp under my coat...

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I'd be very disappointed in you if you stole my lamp

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Should I be concerned about inviting you over to have dinner?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I have a lot of lamps just like that one upstairs

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Are you planning to leave me unattended downstairs while you play the piano upstairs?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Because, if so, yes. You should be concerned.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I might become a robber.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Maybe we should have dinner elsewhere then 😕

(TXT to Violet) Alex : So you were planning to leave me unattended downstairs while you play the piano upstairs?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Is what I'm getting out of this.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't know. I do like playing piano. But why would you go downstairs?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Do I need to follow you around wherever you may wander?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Are you often taken by temptation?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : 1 - I have to go downstairs to get upstairs.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : 2 - Possibly. I would not object.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : 3 - In your apartment and/or shop? I think it's a distinct possibility.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Hmm. All right. I'll just hide the lamps when you come.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Is there anything else in my shop that is of particular interest to you?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : No.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Anything else you fear you may steal if left alone?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : You are upstairs right now.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : [...]

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't think I can be stolen.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : at least not by you.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I mean I'm just saying that I don't think it's stealing if something wants to go with you

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Not that objects have feelings or desires so I guess something is the wrong word there.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Can you even steal a person? I guess that's considered kidnapping

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I'm just going to go lock my door now.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Is the lamp for sale?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I would kidnap you if I had a car. But it will be very awkward on the bike.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : So is the lamp for sale?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : You could always get a bicycle built for two.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Or a very big basket.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : If you have to pedal, then it's definitely not kidnapping.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Can you be an accomplice to your own kidnapping?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Do you WANT to kidnap me?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I want to see you. If that means kidnapping, then so be it.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Violet, is the lamp for sale?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I mean you could always just ask.. I don't think you need to resort to kidnapping me. You'd probably lose your medical license if you went to jail.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Yes, the lamp is for sale. Everything in the shop is for sale.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : But I like the lamp.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I should probably just take it upstairs with me. But then the desk would be dark.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Yes, they will revoke my license if I'm convicted of a federal crime.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : But we could go somewhere that it wouldn't matter.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Mexico. You'll pick up Spanish quickly, promise.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : The lamp can come with us.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : again, I just don't think it's possible to kidnap someone who would go with you willingly.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Not that i'm saying I'd go live with you in Mexico willingly

(TXT to Alex) Violet : But I have never been to Mexico

(TXT to Alex) Violet : It would maybe be a nice place to visit?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Well, we wouldn't have to live in Mexico if you don't get kidnapped, because I can still be a doctor if I don't kidnap you.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Or commit tax fraud.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Or insurance fraud.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I don't think petty theft results in revocation of license.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : You probably shouldn't steal my lamp though

(TXT to Alex) Violet : You don't even have a place to put it.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I guess you could put it in your room at the B&B but it wouldn't match well with the decor I don't think

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I am signing a lease this afternoon.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Not at the B&B.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I don't think they do long-term stays?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : And they are very strange people.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Oh. A lease?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : How long is the lease for?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Not that it matters

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Actually nevermind. Why is Logan strange?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : [... SINCE NEVER MIND]

(TXT to Violet) Alex : They are just strange.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : He is just strange.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : His wife died and he's like us

(TXT to Violet) Alex : You keep saying that.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Well. Like you, I think. Moreso than like me. His wife was like me.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : About his wife.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Yes, Lucy

(TXT to Violet) Alex : The redheaded woman?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Have you seen a picture?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : No, I have had breakfast with her.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : [...]

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I'm reasonably sure she punched him in the face.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : This is between us.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I'm not saying that's impossible, because this town is.. different

(TXT to Alex) Violet : But are you sure you had breakfast with Lucy?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : She doesn't talk to me. I won't swear her name is LUCY, but it ends in a -Y. And she has red hair. And she and Logan sleep together.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : And I'm almost positive she punched him in the eye.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Oh.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I see. I guess that explains some things I heard in the coffee shop.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : So his wife is not dead.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Correct?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : No. His wife is very dead.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : But she has a sister.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : How is it not impossible that I have had breakfast with her if she is dead?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Well obviously either you had breakfast with a ghost

(TXT to Alex) Violet : or you had breakfast with Lucy's sister

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Violet.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : She is in town. She works at the diner.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Alex.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Violet, do you see now why I said they are strange?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't think it's very strange for someone's sister in law to visit!

(TXT to Alex) Violet : They were very close, the three of them

(TXT to Violet) Alex : VERY close.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Yes, very close

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I think it's strange.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I am passing judgment.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I will have to confess it, but I'm going to do it anyway.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : They were all friends. Logan took Emily to prom when we were all in high school together.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I didn't go. But I helped with the pictures for the yearbook.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I think it's good that she is there for him. He went through a lot. He didn't leave the house for a long time.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Why didn't you go to prom?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I think it's weird that he is sleeping with his dead wife's sister and she punches him in the face.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Why didn't you go to prom?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Well I think you're jumping to conclusions a bit. Just because they share a room doesn't mean they share a bed.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : And even if they share a bed, it doesn't mean they are...

(TXT to Alex) Violet : [...]

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Close.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I don't think it's a very big jump from that situation to this conclusion.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I didn't go to prom because I didn't have a date.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I stayed home in my pajamas and read a good book, and Alice told me all about it when she got back

(TXT to Alex) Violet : It didn't sound like I missed much

(TXT to Violet) Alex : What year did you graduate from high school?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Why?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : 2008

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Why does that matter?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Because I am wondering what music played at the prom you didn't go to.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : It was not a good year for music.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : You probably didn't miss much.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't have any regrets

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Why would anybody go to prom just to listen to music?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Did you go to prom?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : No.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : But music was better in 2001 when I graduated.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : You graduated in 2001?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : How old are you?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I will be 37 in August.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Sophia will be 21 in July.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I have difficulty with the fact that it will be legal to have a cocktail with my daughter.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : You don't look 37.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Not that 37 looks like anything specific!

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I just thought you were younger. But I did not do the math either. I guess that makes sense.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't know how I would feel having drinks with my daughter but I don't have a daughter to worry about either

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Do you want more children?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : That isn't really something you have to answer if you don't want to.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : That's a complicated question.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : We shouldn't have that conversation via text message.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Are you 28 or 29?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Okay. We don't have to have that conversation at all, either. It's not a conversation you and I need to have

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I mean not at this point

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I understand what you mean.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Not that I'm saying we would ever get to a point where we should have the conversation, either. That's not what I'm suggesting.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Violet.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Alex.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I understand what you mean.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : All right

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I am 29.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Will you still be 29 when you're not 29 any more?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I don't think you will, but if you're going to turn 30 and prefer to still be 29, I will play along.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : That doesn't make any sense. How can I be 29 if I'm not 29 any more?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I have met a LOT of 29 year old women.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : No, I will be thirty. I'm not afraid of age.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't know if you realize this but

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I'm not a very vain person

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I like that very much about you.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I am just who I am. Twenty-nine this year, thirty on February 25

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Your birthday is on Mardi Gras next year.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : And you will be 30.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Interesting.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Why is that interesting?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : What could possibly be interesting about that?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Do you prefer 29 year old women?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : That's a very strange question.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : No.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Do you know why Mardi Gras is a thing?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : It's not strange. Everyone has a preference.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : No, why is Mardi Gras a thing?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Do you prefer 29 year old men?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I've never really considered age as having a factor on my preferences for men

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Tell me your preferences for men.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I will. When you answer my question about Mardi Gras and why you think it's interesting I turn 30 on Mardi Gras next year.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Mardi Gras is Shrove Tuesday. The next day is Ash Wednesday.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : So Mardi Gras is the last day to indulge before the start of Lent.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : That your 30th birthday is the last day of indulgence is interesting.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I see.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Now you go.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Okay.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : [... Violet is typing. FOR A LONG TIME]

(TXT to Alex) Violet : [seriously this must be an epic response]

(TXT to Alex) Violet : [she must have really thought about this]

(TXT to Violet) Alex : [good then alex can like do doctor stuff for a minute]

(TXT to Alex) Violet : [all of Alex's patients are probably dead since he's spent so much time texting]

(TXT to Violet) Alex : [it's cool, the town needs more ghosts]

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I really just prefer men who are smart and caring.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Do you like piano music?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Hold on. I'm getting over my disappointment.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Yes. I like piano music quite a lot.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I would ask if you do, but it would be very weird if you didn't.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : So I am going to assume that you do.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : What are you disappointed about?

<FS3> Violet rolls Piano: Good Success (8 7 6 6 4 2)

(TXT to Violet) Alex : It doesn't matter any more. I got over it.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Why did you ask if I like piano music?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Are you going to play the piano when I come to your apartment?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I didn't mean to disappoint you.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Then you should definitely play the piano.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I just don't have a very long list of preferences. I just want to make a connection with someone. I guess I prefer being seen.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : That sounds very dramatic

(TXT to Violet) Alex : What do you mean by being seen?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't know. I have been overlooked a lot.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : It's not really a big deal

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Everyone saw Alice. Sometimes it was like I was in the room but didn't exist.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : But I don't want to exist to everybody, either.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Never mind. This is a weird conversation.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I can play piano for you.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I can play piano for you.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Is this a weird conversation that we should stop having?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Or just a weird conversation?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't know if there's anything else to be said. You asked for my preferences. Those are mine. What are yours?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I meant about being seen.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Why is it a weird conversation to say you want to be seen but not by everyone?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : It's just a strange thing to say.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : What are your preferences? Aside from blondes, of course, you already mentioned that.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I don't think it is a strange thing to say.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I think that if I had a sibling that got more attention that I did, I would also want to feel noticed.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : It's not that. I never cared that she got more attention. I just know if she was here, things would be different.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : What kind of different would they be?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : It's polite to answer questions before asking more of your own.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Is this a doctor thing? That you always ask questions about other people, and shift the conversation away from yourself?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : No. It's a you-specific thing.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Why?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Why what?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : What is it about me, that makes you shift the conversation away from yourself?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I am just asking you questions. The conversation is collateral damage.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Do you not want to tell me what kind of different it would be?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Because it's okay if you don't. I will not be upset or disappointed.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : [...]

(TXT to Alex) Violet : You would not see me, if Alice was here.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Is she like one of those tents they put over houses when they get rid of termites?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : What is the word for that?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : What? No.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I don't think that is the word.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Fumigate.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Is the word.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : No, my sister is not a fumigate

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Violet.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Alex.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I like YOU.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I am not seeking pity, Alex. Or assurances.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : So I should just accept that I would not like YOU if your sister was here?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I don't get a say in this at all?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I'm not saying that

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't want to argue

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't even know if I fit your preferences, given you won' tell me what they are

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Maybe neither of us suit you

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I don't have a type. I find that women with blonde hair and fair skin catch my eye.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : But I have only been on dates with two women in my life.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : And you are not like my ex-wife.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : So I think it is fair to say that, right now, I prefer you.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I suppose that works

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Considering I prefer you, too

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I think my mother was beautiful when she was young, but I would not want to date her. She is very loud and bossy.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I am looking for a better word than bossy now. But I can't find one.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I am very bossy. Though I don't think I'm despotic.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Or draconian.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Or punitive.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : it has nothing to do with the current conversation, but randomly attached is a 15 second video. It begins with a sweep of frizzy, pale yellow hair across the lense before the camera is directed up to a low hanging ceiling. Someone, probably Violet, clears her throat in a quiet, feminine sort of way. And then for the next 12 seconds, she is playing Clair De Lune on the piano. The music is light, delicate, and she doesn't miss a single bar. The video ends with a quick glimpse of Violet's profile as she picks up the phone and quickly shuts the camera off

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Did you just play that now while I was reading synonyms for bossy?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Maybe

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Now I am reading synonyms for coy.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Well I am definitely not kittenish

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I like demure.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I also like that you played the piano.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I'm certainly not coquettish! They use that word a lot in the books that Alice likes me to read.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Are you shrinking, Violet?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I think that you are very sweet. I will play for you if you come over, if you want.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : When can I come over?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I hope soon. You are far busier than I am, I can work around your schedule.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : But I would like to see you again soon

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I think you overestimate my busy-ness. I am scheduled for ten shifts this month.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Can I see you tonight?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Or tomorrow if me coming over to your apartment seems like a thing we shouldn't do yet. You can see the house I am renting.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Or tomorrow if me coming over to your apartment seems like a thing we shouldn't do yet. You can see the house I am renting.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I didn't think of that. That it would be a thing we shouldn't do yet.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I would love to come see your house. If you are comfortable with that.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : There won't be any furniture in it.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : If only I had a lamp.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : And a bed.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : It will be tough for you to sleep on the floor

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I'm almost sorry you qualified that statement.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I will stay at the B&B with the strange people until I get a bed.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Can I see you tonight even if it might not be the time for you to come upstairs? We could go on a walk.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Yes, please.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Is it raining still? It was raining when I came in this morning.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : It looks like it is. But I like walking in the rain. Is your umbrella big enough for two?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : It's never been tested.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : We shall have to walk very close. Probably.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I'm okay with that.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Are you?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Yes.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I wasn't trying to uninvite myself from coming over to your apartment.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Just so you know.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Oh

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I didn't want to come across as being very forward.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : You didn't.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : But neither did I.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : [...]

(TXT to Violet) Alex : This is very awkward. 🙂

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't think we are very good at texting one another 🙂

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Can a person be correct and also be understating something at the same time?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Of course. That's all part of being polite, isn't it?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I try not to understate things.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : So I would say: we are very bad at texting one another. But I would leave the smiley face.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : For you.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I would not put a smiley face for other people.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : 🙂

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I very much appreciate the smiley face, though I think I'd prefer to see it in person

(TXT to Alex) Violet : See your smiley face, I mean

(TXT to Alex) Violet : See you smiling in person, specificially

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I would rather be smiling at you in person specifically than doing paperwork.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Or most other things.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Not just paperwork. I really hate paperwork, though.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Maybe I could bring you coffee. To help you power through.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I was thinking of going to get some tea anyway.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : You want to bring coffee to the hospital?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I mean.. Is that a terrible idea?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I was just thinking that if you were near the end of your shift, I could even walk you home for once. Instead of you walking me home.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : That's probably a terrible idea.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I don't want to interrupt your hard work!

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Any more than I probably am doing, actually, I just realized.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Una pregunta.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Why would it be a terrible idea?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Because it's your work.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : And you probably shouldn't have visitors at work

(TXT to Alex) Violet : And I'm already doing a terrible job of not interrupting you

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I am making a conscious decision to be interrupted by answering your messages, Violet.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : You can't blame yourself because the amount that I like you is almost completely inversely proportional to the amount that I hate paperwork.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : They're not causally linked, however.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : I don't like you because I hate paperwork.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Also, I can cook.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : I see

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Does that mean I should come down with coffee?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Yes. Have you ever been here before?

(TXT to Alex) Violet : To the hospital?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Yes.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Yes

(TXT to Alex) Violet : Give me some time, and I will be there. With coffee. The same thing you got last time?

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Black coffee, please. Tell me when you are at the front desk. I will meet you there.

(TXT to Violet) Alex : Don't come in through the emergency department, please.

(TXT to Alex) Violet : All right. I'll see you soon.
