Like most evenings around Gray Harbor, it's grey and drizzly, but inside the book shop, it is warm and dry, and that is where Elias is this evening. There's a local high school student behind the register taking people's cash in exchange for whatever purchases they are making, so Elias is free to attend to other things. What he seems to be attending to at the moment is randomly rearranging the racks of books in the front, taking some things out and moving some different things in.

Genevieve steps into the book store, shaking her umbrella outside before she closes it. Her jacket is shrugged off and hung up before she moves further into the store, her blue eyes wide on the selection of books. This is why she misses Elias at first, point in fact, she nearly bumps into him. "Oh. Hello. I am.. so sorry." She aims a wry grin toward him before she holds both hands up. "Is.. is this your place?" She asks, glancing around again before she starts peppering him for directions to the various books she's looking for.

Elias laughs as he is almost run into and clutches the books he almost drops against his chest for a moment before placing them on a nearby shelf. "No casualties," he says, patting the books lightly as though they'd been startled, before turning his attention fully to Genevieve. "It is, in fact, my place. Well, it's my family's place, but I'm its current caretaker." He gestures about with one hand in a kind of vague motion to encompass all that is Likely Stories. "Can I help you find something?"

"Oh well.." Genevieve laughs softly, pulling a list from a shoulder hung leather purse. "I have a list actually. All but.. this one are books on the local flora. If you have any recommendations as well, I would love to hear them." Her voice lilts with a slight accent, something slightly foreign. She's wearing jeans, a tee shirt and a pair of leather boots. "I was pointed in this direction when I said I was also looking for something new to read, so anything new and exciting would be lovely as well. Well, not too exciting. I don't think I want anything scary." She clears her throat and then leans in slightly. "This place is lovely. I really like books."

Elias reaches out to take the list when she produces it, to glance over the titles. He begins walking in the direction of the gardening and horticulture section, a small area spanning several narrow shelves. He plucks one, two, three volumes and he holds them out to her as he does so, "Whatever we don't have, we can always order, but I do have these three in stock." He then glances to the list again and says, "These others, though, I'll have to look up." He smiles a little curiously at her and says "Not into Horror, then? Mystery? Suspense? Maybe something along the lines of an Adventure or Action story?"

"Action, sometimes romance? I like a broad spectrum, but lately? Every time I read a horror story, I wake up in a cold sweat feeling like something is watching me." Genevieve shudders delicately and starts to follow Elias, gazing at the shelves that they pass. "What kind of books do you enjoy? Perhaps you have a recommendation? As long as it isn't horror, I'm willing to take a look at it." She looks happy that a few of the books on her list are on the shelves here. "Do you charge extra to order things in? I'm sorry for all of the questions, but I'm probably going to be a regular here. I should find these things out early."

"Well if you are looking for romance, we do have a romance section over this way," Elias says as he continues on through the shelves. He gestures toward several sections of romance novels of varying types before leaning up against the shelves, one shoulder resting against them as he watches her. "Me? I like all kinds of things. I just tend to pick something at random, and if it holds my interest, I finish it." He smiles a little bit wryly. Then he shakes his head and says, "No, no charge for ordering things in. If you want them rushed, then there'll be shipping charges. But if you don't mind them coming in with the next regular shipment, there's no charge."

"I don't mind waiting, I'm attempting to stay. It would go better if I could find a roomie, but .." Genevieve shrugs a shoulder and chuckles softly. "One thing at a time, right? I found a job. I found this place, and I have a feeling I'll find a roommate when it's time." She raises her eyebrows, glancing at the sections that are pointed out. "I used to do that. I had a kindle, and I would pick a book at random and just dive into it. I started missing the paper though, so here I am, plus.. I broke my kindle while I was planting. Forgot it outside and it rained all over it. Oops?" She picks a book from the shelf, turning to read the jacket as she continues to speak. "Whatever you don't have on that list, I'll take if you order them. I can pay for them all today, if that works?"

"I'm sure you'll find someone," Elias says. "There seems to have been a recent influx of new folk in town. There's bound to be someone else out there looking for a roommate to share rent with." He smiles reassuringly, and keeps the list when she mentions wanting to order the remainder of the items on it. He folds it and tucks it into the pocket of his jeans. "Alright, I'll order the rest for you." He waves it off though and says, "You can pay for them when they come in. It's only people who order things and don't pick them up that get their ordering privileges revoked."

"I'll aim not to get on that list, les affaires sont les affaires." Genevieve murmurs, flashing a smile at Elias as she gives him a once over. "Now, business is concluded. Where is a good place to eat around here? I've stumbled onto a diner, would you recommend anything else?" She taps the book in her hands. "I'll take this one as well." She starts to make her way back to the front of the store, eyes shifting from shelf to shelf as she tries to take in other books for sale. Something might jump out at her. Hopefully not literally.

Nothing literally jumps out at her, not that it isn't outside the realm of possibility that it could. However, for the journey back toward the register, she is not assaulted by literature. Elias follows along behind so that he can head over to the computer to put in the remainder of the items on her list while the young woman behind the counter rings up her current purchases, "If you like fish, the Fried Fish place on the boardwalk is good, as is Two if by Sea. Pew Pew Pie has some good pizza. You've already found the diner."

"Ah a pizza place." Genevieve nods at Elias, tapping her fingers against her thigh as she hands the girl cash, tucking away her change when it's made. "You've been most helpful, I appreciate it." She holds out a hand, a smile forming on her lips. "Genevieve Dupuis. I'll be in here often, so I might as well introduce myself." She takes the bag that is handed to her and shifts briefly on her feet. "If you hear of anyone looking for a roommate.. " She jots down her number on her receipt and hands it to Elias. "Please, text or call me. I would really really appreciate it."

Elias prints out a copy of the order with a confirmation number for Genevieve for the books that he put on order for her and he hands that over to her before taking her hand and giving it a friendly shake, "Elias Weber. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Dupuis. I look forward to seeing you here regularly, then. I'm sure that we can find a wealth of reading material to keep you entertained while in Gray Harbor." He takes the slip of paper with her number on it as well and says, "Certainly. If I hear of anyone looking, I'll let you know."

"Vous êtes un joyau, Mr. Weber." Genevieve murmurs, taking a backwards step after she offers him another smile, her fingers wiggling briefly in his direction. "I'm going to go start reading now, thank you very much." She pulls her coat from the rack, slips it back on and then picks up her umbrella. She offers a slightly uncertain look at the sky as she steps out and opens it, making her way down the street slowly.
