The trip from the diner to Genevieve's apartment was quick. Likely catching a ride with the woman unless they just walked. Both very viable options. Dahlia claimed a seat on the couch, with her takeout container of dinner. "Thanks for the invite. One of these days you can come over to my place." She chuckled. "Are there any churros left over? Also that look on your face was pretty priceless when you found out that was Ruiz."

Genevieve stops by the kitchen making herself a bowl-like cup of tea, grabbing some churros before she makes her way to the couch. She settles next to Dahlia, pulling her feet up, her long skirts hiding her legs almost completely. She sets the platter down and takes a drink of her tea. "He just doesn't seem like the sort that would inspire romantic feelings, but perhaps it's just me and my experiences with him." She brushes her hair back and reaches for one of the churros. "The man who left when you were coming in, he was reading my palms before you arrived. It was a little.. odd. Every time I go to the diner to eat something odd happens." She rolls her eyes and crunches down on the soft cinnamon doughy treat. "How was work tonight?"

"He isn't." Dahlia said and then paused a moment. "Well...I mean. We met at a bar when he was in town on business. Hooked up and...it just kept happening. We'd get together whenever he was in town. He can be sweet now and again but...I dunno. We fought a lot too, about stupid shit. I loved him. Or thought I did at least. But it's for the best that we went our separate ways." Dahlia explained as she relaxed against the couch and took a bute of her burger, listening about the blonde man. "He seemed a little odd. But this whole damn town seems odd. Always has. I don't know why." She shook her head. "Work was decent. Surprisingly busy for a Sunday night, but busy is good. I'd rather be busy than idle."

"Goodness. I don't think I've ever had a ..hook up thing, where I just.. hooked up with someone. Was that fun?" Genevieve's cheeks are pink, she's admitting to a little inexperience in the romantic department. She fiddles with her skirts, her eyes on Dahlia. "Well perhaps things will be interesting here and you'll have an opportunity to rekindle or at least make ..some efforts in a friendship or relationship with him. I guess it depends on what you want." She holds her tea cup in both hands, her lips pursed slightly. "I can't wait to open here, it'll keep me busy, and give me some time to myself. I'm probably smothering poor Eli at this point. We spend most of our time together now."

"It was a lot of fun." Dahlia smiled. "I know I've said it before, but the sex was some of the best I've ever had. and even when we fought...well Ginny. Let me tell you, angry sex can be pretty damn fun too." She grinned - her cheeks weren't even a tinge of pink. Clearly not having any qualms with talking about sex or the like. "Seeing him again here was a shock but, I think we might be able to try and be friends. I don't really know what I want. The reason we ended things before was because he didn't agree with a career choice I made. Looking back, it might not have been the smartest one but...it was what I wanted to do. I don't really blame him for wanting to end things." Now at least. Another bite of burger taken, nodding in agreement. "Having some alone time is definitely important. Makes the time you spend with each other more enjoyable."

Genevieve looks a little shocked at how casually Dahlia speaks about her sex life. She mirrors the grin back to the woman but her cheeks stay pink. "Well being an actress can have a lot of ups and downs, right?" She shifts a bit on the couch, taking another drink of her tea. "Yes, we're .. very connected right now though. I think we need to be close, if not together a lot." She looks like she wants to say more, but she doesn't, settling back on the couch. "How are you enjoying your new job though? Is it what you thought it was going to be?"

Here, Dahlia did pause a little before nodding. "Yes, it does. And honestly not many guys would probably be cool with the choice if they were really serious about the girl they were with." Shrugged, but not seeming super inclined to elaborate for the moment. "I think they call that the honeymoon phase." Lightly teasing the woman. "You guys will definitely find a routine that works for you. Just takes some time." Thinking it over, "Well I waitressed for a lot of years down in LA. So the customer service part is pretty much the same. It's the drink mixing part that's a little tricky. Though thankfully I haven't had too many weird things come through yet. My kitchen at home looks like a bar right now because I'm practicing. I like the job and the vibe of the club. I don't want to mess up."

Genevieve nods and she laughs shaking her head back and forth. "It's hard to explain, Dahlia. One day maybe I'll be able to, but.. it's a bit deeper than a phase." She watches the woman as she speaks about waitressing, her head tilted slightly. "I have some liquor here if you want to try to make something. I can't mix to save my life. I just cook." She bites on her bottom lip, her eyes shifting around the apartment. "I can't wait to come visit you at work, I really have a few things that I want to wear, but I'm not sure it's Eli's scene."

"Hopefully it is. Because then I think that's more closer to what love is. At least, if books and media have anything to say about it." Dahlia set her half-eaten burger down and snagged a churro. "I can try if you want. I don't cook. Or drive. I'm basically useless." She laughed. "But hey, if I can mix a good drink, that's a step up." Taking a bite of the churro. "I look forward to it! It probably isn't, but I think you can get him to do at least one or two dances with how into each other you guys seem to be. If all else fails, he can chill with me at the bar and we'll watch you kill it on the dance floor." She giggled.

"Oh yes, can you make me a tequila sunrise?" Genevieve gets to her feet and moves over to the kitchen, pulling things from the cubboard. "I have all of these things, but they've just been here sitting because I haven't had an opportunity to make anything with it." She leans against the counter and takes another bite of her churro. "I'm glad we've had an opportunity to get friendly. I was afraid I wouldn't find any girls to be friends with here, I didn't have many back in Georgia." She wrinkles her nose and sighs. "I didn't want to be lonely here."

"Tequila sunrise.I'll definitely try it!" Dahlia stood up to follow Genevieve over to the kitchen. "I haven't made too many. So you know, I apologize in advance. But I'll make two! So we can potentially suffer together!" She said all too cheerfully. "I didn't have too many friends growing up either. And most of them were boys because I was more comfortable with guys." She agreed. "And girls can be...catty." A little shrug of her shoulders. "Gray Harbor is weird, but the people are good." Giving her a playful little nudge. Then would set about trying to make the drinks! ....It's extremely clear the Dahlia really is just guessing at what amounts of everything to put in. "Did tbe blonde guy say anything cool for the palm reading? he did?" Grabbing a spoon to give the drinks a final stir and hand Genevive one of the glasses. "Here we go!" This...is a frankenstien verson of a Tequila Sunrise. It's probably way too strong on the tequila. But...at least it looks pretty?...sort of?...barely. She tried okay!

Genevieve eyes the drink with a little wariness, it looks okay but when she tastes it, she winces. "Wow, that's very very strong." She murmurs, giving Dahlia a thumbs up anyway. She doesn't want to be mean. "I will absolutely get totally drunk off of this. You might to, and that is how one makes tips, right?" She giggles softly and sips at the drink, wincing every time she gets a taste. "Maybe you can help me make some more guy friends, I certainly can use them as well."

Dahlia takes a drink and almost immediately nearly spits it out. However, she managages to swallow it and laughs. "Dear god this is horrible. Don't torture yourself if you don't wanna." Dahlia sets the drink down. "Only way I'm gonna learn is practice right? Don't feel bad about telling me what's what." She mused and picked up the glass to choke down another sip. "I can try making you another one if you want. One that's a little more ..palatable." Hopefully. God this was not pleasant, BUT Dahlia also didn't mind getting a buzz before it was time to go back home. She'd deal with it. "Sure! I'm sure I can round some up. Like Byron, I'll definitely have to introduce you." A nod given at that.

Genevieve makes a face, putting the drink down on the counter. "You're right, you'll only get better if you practice. Go ahead, make another one, but I'll keep sipping on this. I usually do tequila shots anyway and this isn't far off.." She gets out a lime and slices into it. "So what made you decide bartending was the way to go? I'm sure you could have found another job. Heck, if I was sure of the income I'd be making downstairs, I'd hire you. I need to make sure this will float before I bring on help though." She leans against the counter, tilting her head. "I've heard of this Byron person, at least twice, is he very nice or..?"

Dahlia nods, setting about making another one and being a little more careful this time. "Honestly? Just wanted to get out of the house. I want to try and give acting lessons but I need money to rent out a decent space for it. So this is a way to get some money coming in." She looked towards Genevieve with a smile. "But I'm also totally down to help you out here if you need it once things get rolling. Cause I'm gonna be one of your number one customers you know. So this place needs to stay open." Flashing a grin and going back to the drink making. This one would come out better. It wasn't perfect, but it was definitely closer to the real deal. "Byron is nice. Professional. He used to be a scrappy kinda kid, we didn't run in the same circles too often growing up. He's the one I'm helping out some with the Carnival event." Offering the newly made drink to Genevieve and taking a careful sip of her own.
