From Trash to Treasure - Dahlia grew up in the trailer park and had always been determined to get out of it and Gray Harbor. And she did! But an ailing mother has brought her back.
Come At Me - Dahlia has a quick temper and a sharp tongue. If she doesn't consider you a friend or family she doesn't give two shits what you think of her. You can take the girl out of the trailer park but you can't take the trailer park out of the girl.
"Don't I Know You?" - Dahlia had been living in Hollywood for the past 7 year. She hasn't been in any major films aside some minor support and extra roles. If asked, she'll say she's been in some small films but you probably haven't heard of them (unless, you know, you subscribe to certain services).
Seeing the Shine - Very recently, Dahlia has had an encounter with the Veil which has allowed her to start seeing those who Glimmer. She has a faint shine of her own. Barely there. But she doesn't seem to realize any of this yet
Dahlia was an unexpected addition to her family. Her parents were already handling three boys, the youngest one being two years old when she was born. They lived in a two bedroom at Huckleberry Mobile homes. The house was always loud - the boys always rowdy. Her mother and father were the epitome of highschool high society gone south. From Quarterback and Homecoming Queen to a deadbeat mechanic and a struggling hair stylist. By the time Dahlia was 5, her father had left the picture entirely - leaving her mother and oldest brother to take care of the brood.
She grew up quick and she grew up rough. A pretty little thing in ill fitting clothes and more often than not covered in dirt from playing outside and with the boys. As Dahlia grew older, she began to realize that this was not a sort of life she should be living. That she could do better, that she had to do better. When she started highschool, Dahlia tried to reinvent herself. Stealing money from her mother to ditch the secondhand clothes for things that were nicer. There was no shaking the fact that everyone KNEW she lived at Huckleberry, but Dahlia tried her best to fit in with the 'creme de la creme' of Grey Harbor High. Dahlia was very active in the theatre department at school. Acting was her escape from reality. A chance to reinvent herself into someone new. At the age of 18, she left Gray Harbor for LA/Hollywood with dreams of becoming an Actress. And she succeed! ...Just not in the way that she thought she would.
Dahlia struggled for her first two years. Waitressing, living paycheck to paycheck. She landed various extra roles and minor supports but nothing that would really put her out there. Then she was approached by a man who said he worked for an up and coming production studio and that she would be perfect for some of their projects. A card was given and an interview set up. Dahlia did her research of course and, come to find out, the company's major export was Pornography.
Well, Dahlia had a lot of reservations about that, but she also needed money and she was so tired of the lies to her mother and brothers about being on the verge of her next big break. Promises that she was doing just fine and they'd seen her on the big screen properly soon enough. But she put it off, not wanting to jump on the Porn route immediately.
When she was 23 she met a police officer at a bar. They were both lonely and just wanted a distraction. They had an intense physical chemistry in common...and that was probably it. It didn't take long before they were getting into it constantly, about anything and everything. Eventually the straw came that broke the camel's back. Dahlia had decided to reach out to the producer that had given her his business card. It felt like she didn't have any other options and she was tired of killing herself just to barely scrape by. This decision sparked an argument that ended with more than one broken object and maybe even a few bruises on both sides. That was a full year later, not long after Dahlia's 24th birthday.
She didn't see the officer again after that particular fight. Though his number was still in her phone. Not long after that incident, Dahlia's oldest brother called to say that their mother was sick. Not sick enough that she should come back to Gray Harbor, but Dahlia called more frequently. Her mother seemed to be improving - until she wasn't. Now, at 25, Dahlia has (admittedly reluctantly) returned to Gray Harbor to help take care of her mother.
These days, Dahlia only dresses to impress if she absolutely has to. Nice clothes for work, a little fancier if someone happens to drag her to a fancy event. Her hair is raven black with rarely a hair out of place. Standing at 5'4 with pale, porcelain skin and bright emerald eyes. There's no denying she has a unique sort of beauty. There's a scar on her left shoulder, jagged but vaguely reminiscent of human teeth marks. Eventually there will be a tattoo there.
