You’re standing in a hotel lobby. Weird, because you definitely weren’t just a half second ago. It happens quickly, in the blink of an eye. The lobby is kind of fancy, a place you might go for a nice vacation or special occasion. You’re holding a keycard in your hand with a room number etched on to it. The lobby has other people milling about and staff behind the counter, but they don’t quite seem to notice your presence or register you being there. There aren’t any stairs - only a few elevators dutifully waiting to be used.
Stephanie realises that this fancy hotel is definitely way more expensive than anything she could afford, five stars and all that. She looks down at the key card in her hand and she bites her lower lip, considering her destination. Of course the next natural progression is to find this room, right? But...it's gotta be a trap. She wasn't here five minutes ago. She was at home, looking at swatches and making plans for redecorating. Still, she heads towards the elevators, dressed in her jeans and a loose fitting red hooding.
Erin stands there holding the keycard with a look of confusion on her face. "Wait, what?" Turning in a complete circle, she tries to see if she can identify the location. It definitely wasn't the murder motel. It had stairs. "Uh.." Hesitant, she looks over the card to see if there is a room number to be found. Currently she's dressed in a sweater and a pair of loose fitting chinos, not her usual fancy stuff, but she's just got off work from her new job at the hospital, so she was relaxing!
August is in OSU sweats and hard-soled slippers. Either the tylenol is hitting him extra hard or it's that time of the week again. He sighs, looks down at the keycard in his hand, then around himself. Well, he kind of looks like a patron who went out for a jog? Maybe?
He hears Erin, looks around until he finds her. "Hey," he says, holding up his keycard. "You too, huh?"
Her one hand outstretched, the other gently rested on her upper forehead, Abitha looks like she had just been about to change a channel or do something on a smartphone. Frankly, she looks like hell, her hair left hanging loose about her shoulders, an enormous purple and yellow welt on her head. She was wearing a big sweater and leggings, and thankfully some flipflops. She glances around at the others assembled, spying August, at least. Her voice is a little gravelly, just another indication of her ill state. "You know that joke people make about 'We gotta stop meeting like this!'?... Can I see you fucking anywhere else?"
After the quip, though, she does have a short look around, brow furrowing even deeper than her previous frown. She lowers her hand and tips her head as if she heard something strange.
The elevator door slides open when Stephanie presses the button to go 'up'. However, the doors remain open, even if she tries pressing her floor number. As if the elevator is expectantly waiting for the others to get on. There are other people, of course, milling about still and going towards elevators - but not towards this one. Not yet.
Looking up from a freshly lit cigarette Easton was obviously just out for a smoke break at the bar. His black dress shirt is hidden beneath a blue rainjacket. He exhales smoke from the cigarette and looks around at the people, some familiar, some not so much. "Well, hope you don't mind me finishing this." He looks around at the group and nods a couple times. "Hey Roen. Erin, nice to see you again." As he makes these little bits of greetings, he's reaching into the pocket of his rain jacket that shouldn't hold anything more than a lighter, maybe and pulls out first a handgun that he doesn't bother hiding and slips it into his waistband. He then reach back inside and pulls out a tallboy of cheap beer and cracks that open. He takes a gulp just as the doors open.
"Alright. Let's do this."
Stephanie pokes her head out from the elevator to see if anyone else is coming but doesn't see anyone she really recognises so she hangs back in the elevator, fidgeting with her keycard.
Relief! It registers all over Erin's features when she hears August. Someone familiar, a friend. "Yeah, should we see what it's all about?" A wry look is given Abitha, eyes lingering on the wound, when she speaks to August, but then she notices Stephanie holding a card also. "Safety in numbers and all of that." The cigarette smell brings her attention to Easton first and she smirks, but there's amusement in her eyes. "I don't mind. It's only a dream anyway, right? You have got to love a Marine who is always packing." A shrug as the door waits, "Sure, let's do this." Then steps into the elevator to see what was in store.
August winces at Abitha's injuries, licks his lips. He's about to say something when he spots Easton. "Hey." He watches with amusement as things keep coming out of that pocket.
The dinging door draws his attention, though he doesn't move immediately. "Yeah," he says in agreement with Easton, tone absent. "Only way out is through." He glances at Abitha. "Need help? You okay to walk?"
Entering the elevator Easton does at least have mercy on any non-smokers to put the cigarette out by stepping on it on the floor. Littering in Dreams is probably a bad idea, but he's a little bit over these just now. He nods to August and says, "Amen brother. Only way is through." He smirks at Erin and says, "Yer gonna make me blush Addington." Not really. He glances at Abitha and Stephanie, "Everyone here know the drill? It's not real but it can sure as shit kill you? You get lost or die here you don't come home?" He sounds like someone who has given that speech before, and his heart just isn't in it. "But as the good combat Botanist said, the only way is through. We finish whatever this is, we go back to the utter joy of life in GH."
Chalk another one up under 'Fuck it, let do this.' Abitha moves towards the elevator, wincing, though she still seems to be looking around like she's hearing something. Did concussions give auditory hallucinations? "I can walk. Just like... Don't let me pitch over, I guess." Her other hand rubs her ribs lightly, but that one truly wasn't as bad. As she steps onto the elevator, she moves toward the back corner, leaning on the rail.
In that moment, her Glimmer seems to raise for a moment, and there's an audible pop of displaced air. Her eyes going wide as saucers and she freezes absolutely in place, a look of unbridled terror on her face. On her shoulder is resting a small, black creature. It doesn't seem to do anything.
You all manage to fit into the elevator comfortably. It’s bigger than a normal elevator would be.As you all filter in, a family of four manages to squeeze in with you but they too don’t notice or acknowledge any of you. The doors slide closed.
One of their young children wriggles out of the grasp of the mother and presses all the unlit buttons! The elevator starts to shake and tremble. The lights flickering in and out. When it all finally stops, the family that was in the elevator with you all is no longer there and the elevator doors slide open to a beige hallway lined with doors and turn offs for additional hallways.
Before she could even react to the young child pressing all the buttons, Stephanie looks confused when the elevator doors open and the family disappears. She is the first to step out, and her first instinct is to scan for living life forms, because either they need her help or they're going to kill her. Either way, she'd prefer to know what she's up against. There might be some paranoia within the paramedic but she doesn't care.
<FS3> Stephanie rolls Mental: Success (7 4 4 2 1) (Rolled by: Stephanie)
"Oh God. I saw something like this on Netflix." Erin says, proof positive someone had been binge watching something recently. "Creeped out." Which is fitting, it's exactly what she was! When the doors open and the family disappears, she closes her eyes tight then opens them again. "April Fools?" Daring to hope. "Damn." On her guard, she walks out with Stephanie, but she does let the armed Marine go ahead of her. Of course.
August props up one of the walls, keeping clear of everyone and trying not to loom, particularly when that family crams themselves in. He flinches at the pop, and stares at the thing on Abitha's shoulder. "Uh...don't freak out. It's one of those cats. From the factory." He says this like he would say 'there's a bug on you, hold still' except he makes no move to shoo the thing off her. Who knows what it'll do.
"Kid, really, don't--" LURCH. Well. Okay then. He grimaces at the hallway, reminded of a tower in hell, and of course...
...no. He's not sure what else. He makes a face, steps forward carefully.
"Oh good kids... That'll make this better." Easton doesn't bother not saying that outloud when the family gets in. He smirks at the button pushing though because it's kind of funny and it reminds him of Isabella in a very specific way. He however is distracted by the tentacle cat, he looks at Abitha and then August and asks very calmly, "Do you want me to kill that?" It doesn't look unfriendly per say, and if it were a dog he wouldn't ask but it's a black cat with tentacles. It's worth asking. Especially since August seems to recognize it. But he doesn't draw his knife, just sips his beer as the elevator goes shaky.
"Anyone want to take point or shall I do the honors of seeing how fucked up it gets?"
He's not expecting a volunteer so he steps out ahead of Erin, but behind Stephanie, still holding only the beer.
Abitha looks on the verge of screaming for a really really long moment. Her eyes very slowly tracking to the mass of... fuzziness? on her shoulder. It was a really good thing she was resting against the wall of the elevator already. There was recognition in her eyes. She did, afterall, save a bunch of these little fuckers during the factory collapse, but this was... strange. This was the first time something was the same between dreams. Unless... Had she done this? The sound that wasn't a sound had gone away as soon as she'd asked herself the question what it was, and she felt some strange kinship to this horrifying little creature. "August?" she asks in a wavering voice, "I think I made a friend. Do we make friends here?"
Easton's question is answered with a shrug. The tentacle kitten certainly wasn't going anywhere, and to Abitha's horror, it dips to rub a cheek against her face once she moved. It purrs, but it seems like an overly wet sounding purr. Still, a bit wide-eyed, Abitha steps off the elevator so as to not be separated from the group.
There's no other lifeforms apparent in their immediate vicinity. The whole area is eerily quiet in fact. No noise coming from any of the doors near them. The only way to go is forward because now that they're all off the elevator? The elevator is gone! The hallway branches off in to other hallways. And there are doors in all of them. Maybe they just have to wander? Maybe that have to pick a door. Maybe there's another elevator somewhere?
Always the leader, Stephanie isn't afraid to go first. She doesn't really respond to Easton or to anyone else. All she says is, "There's no one else here but us." Walking several steps into the beige hallway, she stops, not taking any turns, waiting for the others to catch up. And when they do, she says, "Stephanie. I'd say it's nice to meet you all, but...Would have rather we'd met in a less...weird circumstance."
How had Erin missed the tentacled cat?! "Oh God. No, that wasn't on Netflix at all." Keeping her distance, she watches Abitha warily. Not Abitha, per say, but the fixture on her shoulder. "The family is missing too," she points out pretty needlessly. "Want me to wait here by the.." a motion to where the elevator was! "Wait, the elevator is gone!" Pretty much Captain Obvious about now. She's out of practice guys. It's been awhile! To Stephanie, she offers, "Erin. Addington." Because that sort of defines her.
August eyes the kitten, wary. He hadn't participated in the overthrow of FCN as directly as Lilith and Abitha, he'd just backed their plays. "I guess...we do. Or you did, anyways." Is it going to follow her out of here? Does it pee octopus ink? Is it not afraid of water? he has some important questions.
He keeps towards the back, sighs heavily when the elevator just vanishes. "August," he says as the introductions go out. He's reluctant to just plow on forward, especially since he has no grease pencil or chalk to mark the way. "One second. Maybe if we..." He starts to check around them, to see if he can suss out the nature of the place; it's space and shape.
<FS3> August rolls Physical: Success (6 5 3 3 3 3 2 1) (Rolled by: August)
Taking the lead up with Stephanie, Easton looks around casually, trying door handles in the hallway. He nods at Stephanie and offers a quick smile, "Easton." He glances back at the others and says, "I'm thinking... office equipment coming alive and trying to kill us?" He doesn't seem perturbed by the missing family or elevator. He stops when August says 'one second' and for a brief second his left hand aaalmost raises in a fist to signal a stop but he just barely manages to stop himself.

The attention Abitha had been paying the little furry shoulder inhabitant is finally torn away to introductions. She gives Stephanie finger guns, "This girl knows what's up." and Erin gets a brief side eye. Abitha still had opinions about the Addington's pretty much from the disastrous Christmas party onward. "Mac." is all she introduces herself as. She simply takes a look around the architecture, mostly cause everyone already seemed happy to use powers, and her head fucking hurt. Her hand lifts to rub her head, and the kitten intercepts, thinking Abitha had simply forgotten she had meant to pet it instead.
"Do we just... open a door?" she says, stopping near a random one, eying the knob/lock/whatever.
It becomes quickly obvious to all of you that everything is the same. There are 7 doors on each side of the hallway and seven halls branching off each one as well. It seems to never end. August you also happen to catch on that at the end of the left side 3rd and 6th hallway there are actually other elevators. They are the only things that are vastly different. One looks like it's made of wood and the other at the end of the 6th hallway looks like it's made of glass and there are little fish swimming in the glass?
Those of you near the door Abitha stopped at would also hear some strange noises coming from it. Like talking? But not in any kind of language any of you know.
Stephanie simply looks at the nearest door to her, the first one at the beginning of the hallway to her left, and concentrates on its knob and whatever locking mechanism it might have, and uses her mind to will it open. Then she notices another door relatively close by, and she tries her key card on it.
<FS3> Stephanie rolls Physical: Good Success (7 7 6 5 4 3) (Rolled by: Stephanie)
Erin stops when August says to and just waits, listening. The side eye thing? She was used to it, she remembers Abitha from the Christmas party.. as the one who climbed the tree? Maybe! She looks at her curiously a moment, the cat-o-puss too, then stops beside a door. "Should we all take a separate door or stay together?" Then Stephanie is opening a door and she moves up behind her to have her back if needed.
August shakes his head after a second, says to Easton, "It's a kind of maze, I think. Keeps branching off in sevens. Not...sure how that works, spatially, but," he shrugs, because it is the Veil and Easton does have a jacket pocket capable of carrying an entire ice chest of beer. He cranes his neck. Being tall has its uses. "Two more elevators down that way. One...has fish in it."
Watching Stephanie have a go at opening doors, he says to Erin, "Let's just see what these have first." He cuts a look at Easton. "I'll be ready to close one if you want the other. In case there's anything...fun in there."
"Stay together. At least then August can heal my fuzzy ass if I get torn in two by a demonic fax machine." Easton comments easily as he finishes off his beer and replaces the empty into his jacket pocket. He only now pulls out the gun and does a quick press check before readying it. If people are opening door he'd rather be prepared to shoot those things behind the doors faster than not. He nods at August and says, "Try 'em one at a time. No need to open two barrels of fun at once. And we're in no rush yet, nothing's actively trying to kill us, which is always nice. So I shoot, you close."
"You open it." Abitha says, looking at the cat-thing. It seems to blink slowly at her, then look from the ground, to the handle. Then it looks back to Abitha and blinks again. She shuts her eyes, "Right. Too short."
She raises her hands, "Wait, guys. I got it. Seven doors on each side, seven hallways. Seven, Seven, Seven. We just have to keep pulling levers until we win." This was more a joke comment. She wasn't getting in the line of fire for one more fucking thing. She flattens to the wall perpendicular to the door Easton was setting to breach, using his bulk to hide.
The door resists a bit but finally does fly open!...To reveal a room that looks like it came straight out of a 1970s era motel? There's a mannequin woman laying on the bed in a bathrobe. There is another door on the other side of the room that looks like it's the actual room door, and there's a bay window next to it, though the curtain is drawn closed. The mannequin woman's head turns quickly - like a barbie doll head might, a look of shock on her features. How rude!
The door that is opened with the keycard opens slowly. Therefore not alerting the residents inside. Though, they might not have noticed anyway because that's definitely just two Cthulu looking beings making out. The room itself is comprised of dark, rich colors. Mahogony, crimson and the like. A honeymoon suite perhaps? Like the other room - this one also has a door on the other side that seems like the real room door.
With one simultaneous action, Stephanie telekinetically shuts the door with the mannequin while also pulling the door slowly closed that she'd opened with her key card. Anyone who is able to read her can definitely sense a whole of NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE! while she is doing this. She cannot unsee the Cthulu looking creatures making out and she's mildly disturbed by this whole deal.
"I can heal too," Erin says a little tightly. "Or light things on fire. Or cut a person in half." Her chin lifts a little. "I've been learning. Lilith taught me a lot." She doesn't move to open any doors, but she does remain with Stephanie for when the door is opened in case they have to fight anything. Hopefully not! Abitha may have something. "Seven.. hmm. Interesting. I'm up for whatever." Upon seeing the make out session, she gasps. "What the hell?" What has been seen can not be unseen!
August nods in agreement with Easton. He looks askance at Erin when she says the bit about cutting people in half, makes a face. ...which is nothing compared to the face he makes at the Cthulu makeout session. Under his breath he mutters, "Probably not up for that, I imagine..." and quickly looks away. This lets him see the mannequin and it's surprised expression. That just gets a stare.
Once the doors are shut, he says, "Okay, uh, maybe we should just...go to the elevators instead." He seems reluctant to try his keycard on any more doors, but doesn't try to stop anyone either.
Easton doesn't seem phased by neither mannequin sex or tentacle sex. He gives a small shrug and says, "I don't think those are the exit." Erin lists of her abilities and he grins, "I knew I missed having you along for these for a reason." He takes one last look in the Cthulu one, tilts his head sideways to figure out the shape of things before nodding in approval, "hoorah." He turns back to August and finally decides to try and get on the same page with the map. He reaches out looking for a good ol' fashioned stairwell.
"Fish elevator? Or wood elevator? I vote wood, I don't trust seafood."
Abitha had also craned her neck to glance in Steph's open door, muttering, "Yeah, I'm losing sanity by the moment from that one." She lifts a finger to suggest something, but drops it as the door is closed again. Probably a dumb idea anyways... but... "So... I'm kinda ear-worm real quick, uh... We're on the wrong side the door should open to... Like this is some sort of... Matrix-style, Keymaker kind of thing. The other door in motels is generally the bathroom, right?"
Stephanie glances at everyone, about to say something really stupid, but instead she says, "I'm willing to go wherever the group goes." She leans casually against a nearby wall, waiting for everyone to discuss the next move.
"Well, only when people in the dreams fuck with me or my friends." A rare instance of Erin using a more serious curse word. Giving a little lopsided smile when she does, there's not a lot of heat in it. "Wood.. elevator? That doesn't sound real safe. Neither does a water filled one though. So, wherever you guys go I'll go too."
August glances away from Erin, fiddling with his keycard. "Yeah." He considers what Abitha's said, looking thoughtful. "Maybe we need to try our keycards on the elevator itself?" He adds, "Plenty of old ones were wood. And maybe this time we won't have some kid hammering on all the damned buttons." He nods, begins moving where he saw it. "Over here."
Easton looks at Abitha and nods, catching on to what she's saying. "So maybe we just slide through one of those rooms and try the exit door?" He frowns and says, "But then I think we're just on the other side of weird sex hotel?" Maybe. Who knows if anything makes sense here. He nods at August and says, "Yea, I vote we try the elevators first and see if that works. If not, we just reopen the octopus demon face room-" He looks at the 'kitten' and says, "No offense if that's not cool to call 'em that" before continuing ".. with the mirrors on the ceiling and slip on through. They were so into ... I think that was sixty-nining, maybe? They probably wouldn't even notice." He heads after August, gun pointed at the ground with both hands on it still, just in case.
You approach the elevator and there's no place for a keycard, just the 'up/down' buttons. Once pressed, the doors slide open to reveal a rustic looking interior. All wood. The lobby button is pressed and they begin to descend. No shaking, no lights flickering, nothing out of the ordinary. Until the doors to the Lobby open. It's not the Lobby they came from at all. It's more like they just stepped in to a Wild West film. The lobby looks more like a tavern/inn style - barmaids and prostitutes all dressed up in their best. Legitimate cowboys and cowgirls hanging around shooting the shit. The entrance doors are even the old timey swinging type...
That immediately get busted in. "SHOW YER SELF REGGIE!" The man towering in the entrance way shouts out, six shooter drawn. Ya'll are still in the elevator so you can easily nope out of this or step off and see what happens."
Stephanie just watches what she can from the elevator if she can even see anything. There's is no point to jumping into the fray if this does turn into a shoutout. Although if she sees someone who needs help, she would consider helping out.
Abitha flattens to the elevator wall immediately as she hears anything rowdy. Her hand actually lifts to grasp the little squitten, (Yes that's what I'm calling it... Maybe.) Keeping it out of the line of fire even as it cranes its.. Neck? Body? To see what was up.
"Fuckfuckfuck, can we not be shot please?" she hisses at the others.

"Oh no!" Erin flattens herself to the wall of the elevator also. "Press the button!" She's not the one closest to it. "I'd rather watch Barbie or the tentacle monsters than get shot up." To make herself a smaller target, she crouches down in the corner. This wasn't her fight, she didn't want to intrude on some John Wayne movie or something. Definitely not handling this as cool and calm as she usually does. Odd thing, that.
"What the f--" August doesn't even get to finish his reaction to the new setting before the saloon doors are busted through. He lunges in front of Abitha and her...squitten...figuring Easton will do the honors, and tries to disarm their assailant in the mean time, telling the gun to take a hike in a bid to keep them all from being shot at.
"Oh sweet. Gun fight." Easton steps out of the elevator, not dumb enough to fire a gun in that enclosed space. He raises his gun to fire and then someone screams, and he can't quite stop himself from rolling his eyes. He should have worried a little more about hitting his target. He missed from this distance? He grimaces, "Well that's fucking embarrassing." He doesn't seem to mind if the elevator leaves with out him. THESE ARE HIS PEOPLE.

Abitha and Easton don't really get a choice to experience the abject fear the girl is radiating at the moment. Her only thought is survival. So as her mind reaches out and lassos around the bar owners psyche, he gets a nice big dose of it, as well as an almost deafening shout inside his mind of, <<GET THE FUCK BACK IN HERE>>.
Sure, she had just lashed out with her mind. But she was huddled in the corner of the elevator, curled up in a ball, arms wound around her head.
Sir Tenebrae Wigglesworth the Third stands guard above her head.
Stephanie steps out of the elevator and takes a few steps out as she yells out, "Come on, Easton! Back in the elevator!"
And as an added distraction while she's trying to get her gun wielding ally back into the elevator, Stephanie points a pair of finger guns at the person Easton had previously targeted and she says under her breath, 'Pow pow." And she focuses her healing energy, turning it into harmful energy to attempt to break bones, causes internal injury, whatever harm she can inflict.
"Come on! Let's go! Back into the elevator!" she continues to yell urgently at Easton as she steps backwards towards the elevator again, stepping in.
A few screams rise up, startled gasps. A man at a table close to the elevator rises up. "GOD DANG IT FREDDIE!" The man shouts. "THE HELL YOU-" So apparently shouting is just the way these people talk? The man named Reggie - presumably - stops talking though because suddenly Freddie is being shot at. Freddie, who wasn't actually aiming to shoot anyone with the gun (yet at least? ) somehow manages to dodge out of the way of the bullets, flipping over an empty table to take cover. Now the whole bar is drawing weapons and, whoops, they're all trained on Easton.
"WHAT KINDA PERSON SHOOTS-" Freddie is peeking up over the table, waving his gun around...and it goes flying out of his hand thanks to August. And then he screams out in pain as Stephanie causes a few of his fingers to break. There's a DEAFENING roar as all the guns seem to go off at once....except they don't shoot bullets. It's just...air. Blanks maybe? The force is enough to drive Easton back into the elevator if he's not already back in it. The doors slide closed just as some of the people are running up to it.
A button lights up on the elevator without it being pushed. B for Basement? The elevator rockets down ward and comes to a jerky halt. Doors sliding open to reveal...the parking garage of Addington Memorial Hospital? And the elevator is normal sized now. Things are a little claustrophobic. They can be assured they're in the real world...for now.
Or are they?
<FS3> August rolls Composure: Good Success (8 8 6 5 5 3 3 1) (Rolled by: August)
They shout all the time. They're all shooting guns. THESE ARE HIS PEOPLE. Easton looks back at the elevator with an annoyed look at Abitha, "Stay the fuck out of there." in a growl at her mental incursion. And all the coaxing and pulling from the elevator is about to get a fantastic brush off from the Marine who has flipped a table and is taking cover when suddenly forces push and pull him into the elevator in unison.
August ducks and half-turns as all those guns go off, hoping to at least catch them center-mass and not in his head. Instead Easton is shoved in with them and the elevator heads down.
He's not a fan of where it opens. Not one bit. "Goddamnit," he mutters, swallowing. He pulls out his phone to call Eleanor for a ride.
Stephanie brushes herself off when she steps out of the elevator at their destination. It's not like she doesn't see the hospital on a regular basis at work. She's fine. She doesn't even look back at the elevator when she walks out.
Realizing what August was doing, Erin focuses on him, intent on adding her own power to his. Even if she is still squatted down in the wooden elevator. "I don't want to know what is in the water one. Sirens? Viscous mermaids? Sharks?" Prattling on, she isn't comfortable with the gunfighting.
As soon as everyone is in and the button is pushed, she breathes a sigh of relief. Until the doors open and she's at the parking garage of the hospital. There's an audible groan as she pushes herself to her feet. "Is everyone okay?"
Still a little light brown woven wool bundle in the front corner of the elevator, Abitha's whole body was shaking. She seemed fully traumatized, holding the position ducked and covered, arms thrown fully over her head, knees drawn up to her face. The top-hatted black squitten was suddenly gone, left back on the other side as soon as they rejoined the real world. The game shop owner was alone again, white knuckled fingers clutching her scalp, which had begun to throb powerfully all over again...
Easton grouches, "I'm fine." as he puts his gun away now that they are back in the elevator. He pulls out another beer and his phone, "Seriously I can't believe I missed." He glances around and notices Abitha, "You okay?" Yes he just yelled at her but that's all over now.
Erin looks between the others then watches Stephanie walk off without a backwards look. "I hope she is okay. She seemed really tough. I like that." Though she crouches down near Abitha then looks to August, "Can you heal her? If she wants to be? I could try and assist you again?" Looking to Easton, she smiles. "Everything is off in the veil. Not your fault you missed."
August glances up from texting Eleanor, follows Easton's gaze to Abitha. He sighs, swipes out his response, and pockets his phone. he moves to crouch down next to her. "Hey. You want me to try healing that up? Can't make any promises, but..." He falls quiet a second, then adds, "Or, we're at the hospital, so we can take you to the ER."

"I'm... I'm fine." You know, the most convincing words ever when accompanied by a noisy sniffle and red, wet eyes as she pulls her arms down. The world was solid again. She reaches to grab a side bar and try to lever herself up, actually managing to get back on her feet through force of will. A glance is sent Easton's direction, voice heavy with the crud of tearing up. "Sorry..."
A sweater-covered fist grinds her eyes to try to clear them. She looks to August, blinking maybe a little unevenly, an almost drunk speed, "Healing is a thing?"
"That's not true." Easton says of Abitha's insistence that she's fine. It's clear that she is not. He moves towards her to keep her from falling at the very least, support her in standing if she lets him. He laughs off the apology and says, "Nah fuck yer sorry, it's fine." He really doesn't take people apologizing to him well.
Noticing what Abitha was doing, Erin extends a hand to try and help her up, but she's too late on the draw. Once the other woman is on her feet though, she moves in to offer a bracing shoulder to lean on if needed. "Healing is everything." A brief smile as Easton offers the shoulder, leaving her free to help August if he would like. There's an expectant look in his direction. The elevator was as good a place as any!

August stands and, with a glance at Erin, tells Abitha, "Yeah, it is. I mean, if you want, it's okay if you'd rather leave it to," he nods out towards the hospital. He flicks Easton a wry, sympathetic smile, focuses on a spot somewhere past Abitha's shoulder. He raises one hand and turns it palm up, like he's holding something. "Those assholes sure did a number on you, didn't they?" he murmurs. She can feel, for a second, things shift inside her, pressure moving around, but the pain and mussiness of the concussion remains. He gets a little pale, swallows, shakes his head and refocuses on her. "Don't think I got it," he admits.
With August sort of as a mentor to her (whether he knows it or not) Erin watches him and does what he does much as she had Lilith when she had taught her things. Going unfocused a moment, she dips inside Abitha's body, not physically, but sort of spiritually, and she finds the worst of the wounds and focuses there. Her medical knowledge assists her in the reparations, since she knows what goes where and how it's supposed to look from the inside out. A hand reaches out to August to ground herself as she mends what is broken. When she comes back to herself more coherently, she gives her a serene smile. "You'll still be sore, but you'll start feeling better quicker." With a bright smile to August, she gives a little nod.
"No, fuck you! I'm sorry fer..." Abitha makes a hand wavey motion at her head toward Easton's head, scowling up at him before dropping her eyes again, cause that shit hurt. Typical drunkey belligerence. Only it was a head wound, not alcohol. The attempts to help her remain upright recieve polite attempts to be waved off, but she ends up leaning on Erin anyways as Easton exits.
August's attempt gets a dumb grin and a shrug, "It can't ever be that easy, huh?"
And then Erin just reaches into her and things just kinda... Sharpen.
"Holy shit." Abitha's eyes open wide, hand tightening on the Addington then releasing in shock. She really can't help but reach up to feel the bruise, but the concussion symptoms, the headache, seems wholey gone. "Holy fuck! Thank you!"
Unless Erin literally punched Abitha, the Addington was getting an excited hug. Brief, once Abitha realizes her presumption, but a hug nonetheless.
August watches Erin work, relaxing noticeably when she manages to heal the injury August couldn't. He casts her a grateful look, smiles at Abitha, rueful. "Easy, no. But it can be done."
He coughs a laugh and steps aside when Abitha launches up for a hug. "How did you end up with that...thing. The cat thing."
Erin doesn't protest any hug or anything, a little amazed herself that she was able to help that much. Of course she looks for the approval from August as well, but there's a smile there as she checks on Abitha again. "I'm glad I could help, you're very welcome." The question about the cat though, even she wanted to hear about that!
"No fucking clue, dude!" Abitha shrugs at August's question, grinning despite the creepy subject, "Like, as soon as I was aware where we were, I felt like I could hear something? Or like..." she has to pause, think. Much easier now without a head wound. "Something just felt... There? And like, I tried to focus on what was there, and my head kinda answered?" She makes a wave toward the shoulder the cat had appeared on. "As I stand here and think about it, I know I did something." She sweeps her palms out to the side, a gesture of finality, "I don't know what."
August makes a low sound, nods his understanding. That's just how the Veil is, sometimes; random and uncertain. "Well...it didn't seem hostile, I guess." He bites his lip, shrugs. A glance aroudn them at the hospital, and he shudders. "Okay. I'm getting a ride out of here, so. I'll see you two later, yeah?"
"I need to go too, thanks August, I'll see you later for sure." Erin gives a smile to Abitha. "I will see you later too. I work here at the hospital now too, so if you ever need anything you can usually find me here." With a wave to the two, she goes for a taxi, it won't take her long to get home from here.
"Hey, I meant it, August. Can you please be somewhere not lethal and other-else?" Abitha finger guns the older man, already cockily jumping straight to, "Thanks." The finger is then turned on Erin as Abitha's eyes narrow, "You. You're the singular good one. So far. Don't let another one try to kill you to take your place." Because Highlander references are always relevant. She waves goodbye to the other two happily, an amount of cheer wholey incongruent with her usual demeanor, but the sudden endorphin rush of pain relief is a helluva drug.
Then her hands pat her upper legs. Sweater. Leggings. No pockets. No phone. Everyone already left.
"Fuck."
