Her not so little little brother. He was angry when he left and didn’t come back for years. After she stopped checking in with him, he decided to come back to see what’s going on.
A fellow techie, though with considerably more finesse than Steph. They've struck up a coffee-shop friendship, though Steph is careful not to ask specifically about Hannah's work. It's enough to know that she works for Felix Monaghan.
Stephanie has little memory of Julia from childhood. She was quite a few years younger, but she did vaguely know Julia's older brother, Rob (who was three years older than Steph). Rumor has it, they sent Julia upstate for mental instability. Nowadays, Steph lives right across the street from Julia's mother.
They're next-door-neighbors, though Stephanie tends to keep a wide berth around him. He's Felix Monaghan's cousin, and that's enough for Steph to know that he's probably trouble.
They are partners who share similar mindsets about their jobs. She's gotten to know the real Devlin and doesn't buy into any of the lies spread about him. After helping him study for his certification and becoming his partner, she considers him a friend and someone she trusts.
A sweet artistic type whose concussion led to an unexpected friendship. She's the best friend a girl could ever ask for.
Having first met at a scene, looking over a dead body, Gabriel's become a good friend over the last year or so. They have a comfortable sort of dynamic.
They met at the New Year's Eve Party at Addington House and had a great time drinking together.
Favorite Pourhouse bartender and possibly the best drinking buddy ever.
A year behind her in school. He fucked up his whole life - armed robbery, bad choice - and was gone for years. He came back and now he does tattoos or something. They're not close, but she still knows him.
A couple of years younger, Harper's one of the many faces she's seen around. Friendly with her, they weren't particularly close back then but maybe it's time for a change.
Three years behind her in school. They were kind of friends, but Nicole clearly always had one foot out the door of this town. She cuts hair now. Steph goes in there when she needs a trim.
Elise is a nurse at the hospital, so she and Stephanie see each other pretty reliably.
She sees him at the hospital pretty regularly. He's a surgeon. They also occasionally run into each other at the Pourhouse. He seems to be there a little too frequently.
- Local Girl - Born and raised in Gray Harbor. Never lived anywhere else but if she had the money, she would consider leaving.
- Paramedic - First on the scene. She takes her job seriously. It's not quite being a doctor, but it's the next best thing.
- Self-Taught Musician - She taught herself how to play the ukulele watching YouTube videos and writes songs sometimes.
- All That Glimmers - She doesn't talk about it much, but she knows a thing or two about Glimmer, or the Glow as she calls it. She's had her abilities since she was 15 but only uses them in cases of extreme emergency.
- New Year, New Steph - Driven by a deep seated loneliness, she's making some drastic changes in style and appearance. Some support this endeavor while others are concerned about it.
There's a real "girl next door" look to Stephanie, something about the freckles and the way she smiles, maybe? Anyway, it's not an overdone allure, but a sort of au-naturale prettiness. Her eyes are close enough to true green that she gets away without having to call them hazel, though a few flecks of amber are splashed in there to brighten them up. Wavy brown hair is often caught into a ponytail to keep it out of her face, pulled back to reveal that smile that really brightens up her features. She stands right at five and a half feet tall, with a slim build; she could stand to pick up a few curves, but there's a trim athleticism to her that works.
