(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Hey. I don't think I ever got to thank you for saving my life.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : It's what we do, Stephanie. Glad that I succeeded. I hate loosing to him, you know?
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : It took two of us almost dying to beat it. But it's gone now. At least that's what Kim said.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : We are still not out of the woods. Hard to verify this and also there more things out there. Feels like I walked back into Iraq or Afghanistan with all these dark men about.
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : I was speaking specifically about the immediate problem. I am well aware that there's always more problems. I grew up around it. Not everyone in our circle knows what they're getting into. And that scares me. I may not be a fighter like you are but at least I have an idea of what's going on around here.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : I know but I am used to thinking in an operational awareness level. That was just one battle and we are in a war.
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : If you're looking at who we're working with, they're in even less fighting shape than I am. The only thing I have going with is some semblance of a working knowledge when it comes to what we're dealing with, just from being exposed to it. And maybe my proficiency in my gifts. The only one I feel secure in having with us is Jessica and it's only because I can tell how strong she is. Everyone else? Hera, Kim? Yeah well, Kim almost died doing some stupid shit from what I was hearing.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : To someone that is experienced the actions of one that has not been trained and lack experience may appear to be stupid. School of hard knocks is in session and sometimes the passing grade is survival.
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Yeah, either that or you get sent way for being crazy because no one believes you. The options are really bleak. Must be nice to be sure about what you're fighting for.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : It can be. Sometimes it gets confusing even when you think you know.
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : What do you do when it gets confusing?
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : It depends. No easy answer other than trust your squad, platoon, company.. get through it that is the key.
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : It's not that I don't trust our squad. It's just hard not to worry about everyone. Especially Hera, and the way she flies off the handle sometimes.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Sometimes you have to just stop worrying and trust that things will work out. He beats me sometimes, no matter what I do or how hard I fight his grasp. But I can't win them all. To think other wise is to take a road that leads to very dark places.
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Yeah I guess so. It's just hard to trust everyone else like I trust you. I know you're solid. We've been partners for two months now. And clearly, I can trust you with my life. It's different with everyone else. But I know you're right. I got a referral to a Dr. Ferrera at the hospital, a psychiatrist. That should help some.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : You should trust the others in the department like that too. Seeing a head shrinker should help. But if they do not know about the shinning.. may be an issue.
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : I wasn't talking about the department. I was talking about our friends. Your cousin.
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : And I've already seen Ferrera once. He knows about the Glow, the shinning. I trust him.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Sounds good, only thing you need to worry about is if he'll keep that quiet.
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : I think he will. He likes to research on the Dark Men and the Veil so he's a useful ally too.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Fair enough
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : I just wanted to see if you thought it was a good idea to introduce him to everyone first. I mean if he could help us learn more about what we're facing, I think it's an asset, not to mention good for my sanity. If you'd find thet helpful.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Not an easy call to make. Your going to have to figure that one out. May be get to know him better.
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : He's a professional. I at least trust his ability to be discreet. I just wanted your opinion on it. I'll let you know how things go with the doc. I'll have to introduce you sometime.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : That's a plus. And sure.
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : We never got around you teaching me to meditate. We should do that sometime soon.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : It's not difficult.
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Well barring any other disaster, we should definitely do something fun, blow off some steam. I survived a huge attack mostly intact except for 5 plates in my chest. It's worth doing something fun.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : We will have to see what we can do. I have been fairly busy
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Lets see about something in a few days, may be after shift
(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Great, we'll figure out then. I don't know when I'll be cleared to work. The doctors want to give it some time, even though I feel great, thanks to a doctor using their gift on me. The plates really help to cover that one doctor's tracks.
(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Sounds like a plan
