(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Hey Pretty Boy you busy?

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Right now, just killing a little time filling out some paperwork for the paper-pushers at the capital again.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Gross. Is that what your life is, paperwork? Geez.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Review, tests, and paperwork of late. Have not had a ride along in 2 weeks. But I did bag a Doe on XMas day. So between that and the buck earlier, been a good week. Both of them on Bow.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Yeah, the last couple of weeks have been a little intense. Probably for the best you weren’t riding with me. Did you get my email with the study guides? I only sent the most recent ones for recert. The rest of my stuff is out of date.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : I have read through them. Thanks. Seems a lot of people helping me here. That SOB in Cali out to make my life interesting yet again. Seems one of his cronies is trying to convince people at our state house that I need a psych eval.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Do it. Show em you got nothing to hide. You know I have your back.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Been pondering preempting them. I know a Doc in town, may be after the holidays.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : We all have baggage. Doesn’t mean we can’t do our jobs.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : 4 tours will do that. Hope your having a good day

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : It’s a day. The further removed I am from the holidays, the better it will be.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Take time to breath. I know this is a rough time for calls, but we have to take care of ourselves too.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Yeah. It’s not even the job. It’s the quiet moments between the calls, you know?

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : It's been that way ever since the first Cananites and Egyptians felt during the time before the battle of Megiddo felt. You should learn meditation, it helps.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : You’ll have to teach me sometime.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Most mornings, assuming no snow on the ground, I have been practicing MA at the pond in in the early morning light. Catch up with me early in the morning. I can give you some pointers to try.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Deal. I’ll see you tomorrow morning. You have plans tomorrow night? Was thinking of hitting up the New Year’s Eve party at the Addington House.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Weather permitting, I'll be there. I do have plans for that night. Going out with Morrigan, not sure where yet.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Morrigan huh? Plans as in a date?

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Yeah, its a date.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Ooooh! That’s nice. At least you have something other than studying and paperwork to do.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : I'm looking forward to it. You like Venison?

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Don’t have it very often but enjoyed it in the past

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : I can set you up with some stew meat. I have a lot of it.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Sounds nice. I really need to do better with self care and that sort of thing. Cooking for instance. I would totally appreciate that.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : I'm not a great cook myself. Just good at following directions.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Yeah I’m going to have to figure it out. Send me a text if the weather’s good. Maybe you can teach me some moves while you’re at.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Not qualified to teach by my Sifu. I can assist, just not lead.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : That’s too bad. Maybe you should get qualified for that too. Not too many people teach that sort of thing here, and definitely not in the styles you’ve chosen.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Perhaps, but for now I have to focus on getting certified. Even Sifu feels it will be better for my well being.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Well If you have someone willing to do a psych eval for you, you’re already better off than I am.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Just glad for good people here. Amazed at the team here accepting someone not from the town.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : I would have sorted them out quick if anyone gave you grief. I’ve spent almost my entire adult life on the team. They know better than to cross someone who has been giving her life to the job for that long.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : I don't do so bad against most giving me grief. Just never realized with a politician messing with you that the truth is already dead before the fight begins.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Politicians are scum. But I know you’re a good person. That’s why I’m willing to help you get your certification sorted out. You deserve a fresh start after your years of service.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : thx. Still serving. Or did you not notice I don't have duty here on some weekends and drive up to Tacoma for 2 days.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : I don’t know what you do with your time outside of work. I tend not to pry. Besides, I don’t actually remember if you mentioned it. Well, that’s even more of a reason to believe in you and help you. You’re being treated like shit and still serving.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Part of being a soldier that alot of people do not get.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : Glad that scandal didn’t ruin your entire military career.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : He never touched my Mil career. Just ruined me in Cali as a 1stR. And some of his friends taking cheap shots at me here.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : I wouldn’t put it past a slime bag politician. It sucks you can’t even catch any breaks.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : I caught the important ones.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : That you did. We both did.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : Funny thing is, if he were wounded in front of me, I would do my best to save his life.

(TXT to Devlin) Stephanie : I know. It’s what we were born to do, save lives. I know how you think when it comes to being a medic, I’m exactly the same way. I can’t relate to the soldier part, but I’ve made my life about saving other lives. I understand.

(TXT to Stephanie) Devlin : I am about to head home. Mailing these damn forms off.
