It's Valentine's Day at the Pourhouse and the bartenders have specials for frilly sounding drinks and two for one on appetizers and things like that. Because everyone was going to be out with their other half singing tonight, right?

RIGHT!

Hank is looking rather sober this evening and dressed in a black t-shirt and a pair of jeans that are held up with a leather belt. "Welcome welcome welcome to the Valentine's Edition of Pourhouse Karaoke!" he shouts to the crowd. "As the usual routine goes, I'll start us off. Tonight I will warn you that we're going to have some tearjerkers, so just get tissues handy, ya'll." he tells them.

Then he thunks a cowboy hat on his head, "Bllllllllluuuuuuuuuueeeeeee oh, so lonesome for you..." are the first chords to the song. Oh no....he's broken out the old school Leann Rhymes. We're doomed.

Mariah is here, in her dark back corner perch where she usually is doing paperwork. When she hears Hank start singing there's a moment her head drops to the table and screams into her paperwork before laughing. Oh god!

Alison strolls in to the Pourhouse, a slight spring in her step. Which is possibly ill advised, given that she's wearing heels. Removing her excessively boofy jacket by the door, she makes her way over to one of the stools at the bar in a considerably more dressed up outfit than she's usually found in. A soft pink button down blouse and a pencil skirt, red hair tamed into neat tresses along her shoulders for once. Bright red lipstick, basic foundation and blush, slight eyeshadow, subtle floral perfume, etc.

Considering how she usually bothers to dress, it's likely that she's dressed up for a reason. Or maybe not? Regardless, she orders a pina colada from the bartender, taking a long sip through the provided straw once it's delivered. And then nearly spittakes as Hank starts singing Leann Fucking Rhymes. Jesus.

Siiiigh~

Valentines Day and not in love. Tie that in with the shit sandwich experience with Glimmer a few days ago and Merry needs a bit of a pick-me-up. She has no clients tomorrow (Saturday) and a bit of courage (bourne on aforementioned unrest) so... here she is! Here she is people! Awkward A.F and looking as if she parked her cloud out back! Hair is left long (considerably so) and loose, falling in wavy rivulets down her back; attire is that of a fitted black shirt-dress with flared sleeves at the wrist and dove gray tights, tapering into dark chunky boots. Makeup is light and favorable to her already bright features.

So now what, Merry? She shimmies her way in, beelining for a Strong Drink. Better drown that anxiety with liquor!

Stephanie doesn’t have a clue what she’s doing here aside from looking to drink her worries away. She’s not entirely sure she wants to go up on stage this time but she definitely wants to drink. She heads for a seat at the bar, and she orders a beer. She just needs to drink to forget the last few days.

Someone has forgotten it's Valentine's Day. When Kip walks in to the Pourhouse she is perplexed, thinking maybe she's stumbled upon some kind of random themed bar in this tiny town. It takes a couple moments for everything to kind of click in to place. Oh. Already the 14th? Looks like it'll be another fast year. And there's karaoke? A smirk twitches on the woman's lips before it fades. Despite the cold, she's only wearing a windbreaker with her wool, long-sleeved shirt and leather gloves. A pair of jeans and boots along with it. Taking stock of those gathered, Kip heads for the bar herself. When her order is asked for she just says, "Surprise me with one of the frilly drinks." Pointing at the specialty menu. Her accent very thick and very Russian.

One of the people to walk into the Pourhouse for karaoke is Lalo. He's stepped inside just in time to hear the introductory strains of the first song, and for a moment he looks like he might just turn around and walk back out again. Just kidding. He's not going to do that. He reaches up unzip his jacket as he looks around, and he spots Mariah after a few passes. He starts that way -- right when her head drops onto the papers, actually. "That bad, huh?" he asks as he slides into the other side of the booth.

Sparrow might've gotten here a little bit early. She and Rhys has taken up residence at one of the tables near the front, a few empty seats nearby allowing room for more to join them. Her jacket hangs off the back of her chair, leaving her shoulders bare given the style of her pale pink tee shirt with its Three of Swords on the front. Black jeans, black boots, shimmery pink laces and fairly muted make-up. It's a fairly low-key look from the bleach blonde, befitting her abandonment of the neon red she'd been rocking since summer. In front of her, there's some fruity pink cocktail to match the night's look... and maybe to start off with something a little stronger than beer. To the man beside her, she wonders, "Have we settled on anything yet? I'll sign up solo if I have to..." But that'd make her sad. Scanning the room as Hank kicks things off, she straightens a touch, smiling brightening, surprised to spy an Alison, who gets a little wave should she look this way.

Mariah looks up when she hears Lalo's voice and she gives him a big smile as he settles in across from her, the blonde leans over the table top and plants a kiss on the man, "It's better now." she chuckles. "How goes it?" she asks him as she looks him over.

Hank is singing that god awful song. And it makes a few people tear up. Oh no...

He finally get's done and then he's replacing the mic in the stand, "Alright, ya'll know the drill. If you want to sing or just come up and rant about your SO or ex, sign up!" he states and then he's heading off the stage.

Alison blinks a little, the happy expression on her face fading slightly as Stephanie approaches the bar. The redhead leans over towards the woman, "Hey. Guess you guys made it out alright after the thing, huh?"

She hadn't noticed Sparrow camping out along with Rhys upon entering the bar, focusing on getting herself a pina colada for the first time in a few days. When the woman waves at her, she waves back, the grin on her face quickly returning, then followed up with a few taps on her ear and a thumbs up.

Was this a good idea? Was it? Meredith smiles her way into the ordering of some manner of pinkish-purple frue-frue drink. One of those types that will curbstomp you with it's hidden booze percentage if you're not careful. Tastes fruity.. you know the type. Regardless it looks to be right at home in Merry's hand as she pays for it and accepts the cocktail in it's snazzy glass. She sure as hell ain't ready (will she be?) to get up there and sing badly... it's going to take more of these frue-frue pink drinks. She's aware of another person joining her at the bar to order -- the accent catches her attention -- and Merry offers Kip a polite smile. "This one is rather frilly..." She indicates the cocktail in her hand. "Deceptively so.."

Meandering into the bar in black jeans, a black t-shirt with 'Getting paid to play with my meat' printed on it in white text, a pair of chef's knives printed below it, and his usual black and white converse, Corey has arrived. Clearly he hasn't seen fit to dress up, no valentine to impress maybe, but he takes a look around and saunters his way over to the table Sparrow and Rhys are at, reaching down to tug lightly on his twin's hair when he's close enough. "Hey Phil." Glance to Rhys. "Hey dude." Amiably, he sits, not waiting for an invitation.

Stephanie recognizes the voice. Barely. But she turns to face Alison, whose name she doesn’t recall ever asking for. “Hmmm...the hypothermia was pretty bad for me but, I just got out of the hospital a couple of days ago,” she explains, then she asks, “How are the ears?” She adds, “By the way, I’m Stephanie. I don’t think I got your name.”

Rhys, in black jeans and turtleneck under a burgundy velvet blazer, has ended up with some kind of frilly drink as well. Something that for some reason includes one of those little paper umbrellas in festive hearts and colours for the day, and looks fairly pleased with this. Less pleased with the signing up solo thing, though. "No, but let's not get drastic here. I've got faith in our ability to properly procrastinate here and get the perfect idea at the last minute. So.... any minute now..."

Instead of a brilliant idea, however, there's a Corey, who gets a cheerful, "Hey, also dude," back. "Like the shirt." A small pause, and he adds, "Rhys, when I'm not as much abiding."

Lalo returns Mariah's kiss, leaning a little bit into it before he settles back again, looking at Hank briefly, then back to Mariah. "Pretty good," he replies. "Just came in to see someone sing I Will Always Love You. Once I do, I'm out." He grins at this, tipping his head toward the stage. "You gonna get up there and rant about your SO? Should I start getting ready to get dragged?" There's certainly amusement in his tone at that, whether he's fully joking or not.

Valentine's Day? And here he thought this was really Ballantine's Day. Anyway, there is this thing happening that seem to call to Scott's soul. That being the karaoke. He's dressed up a bit for this particular occasion, not too much, but a little bit. He heads over to the bar to order himself a drink, looking to see who'll start this thing off.

Park bounces in, excited as ever, though with the added bonus of Valentine's Day!! Not that she is with anyone or expecting to sing a duet. She's dressed as usual against the cold; low boots, tights, short skirt, t-shirt, huge ski parka, Pikachu beanie. "Hey, everyone!!" she waves about, stranger and acquaintance alike. And anyone in range as she heads for the bar will get a hug. Though it is careful hugging as Park is also carrying a dozen roses, handing them out as she goes.

One for Meredith - "Hi, I'm Park, gosh, you're so pretty." One for Kip - "Hi, I'm Park, gosh, you're so pretty". One for Stephanie - "Hi, I'm Park, gosh, you're so pretty too." And she sounds sincere with every compliment.

"Alison! I know you're pretty." A rose and hug for the redhead. Still plenty to hand out to others as she asks the barkeep, "Can I have a red lemonade?"

Alison grins back at Stephanie. "Wow. I didn't get sick, at least, but I couldn't hear a thing for a few days until I.." She trails off for a moment, pausing as she recalclates her next line. "Just came back, all of a sudden. I didn't see anyone else there, though, wasn't sure if you all left before or after me. I'm Alison, by the way."

Park's entrance makes her squeal slightly, waving in the woman's direction long before she gets a hug as she makes her usual long, affectionate entrance. She returns the hug, plants a quick smooch on the woman's cheek, and takes the rose, promptly sticking it sideways in her teeth. "Mee! Glad to see you."

Kip is scrutinizing her frilly drink rather closely. Definitely judging it before she takes a careful sip...and then looks pleasantly surprised as the sweet, but smooth burn of the alcohol. She looks surprised at Park as the random stranger bounded up to the bar, taking the tose just on pure reflex. Without even knowing she was holding it until a few seconds after. "Oh-uhm-thank you?" She half-asked to the woman before summoning up a smile and examined the rose a moment before shrugging and tucking it into her hair carefully. Might as well have some kind of red going on, right? Then she slides off her windbreaker, laying it over the stool she's claimed as she leans against the counter again to take another sip of her drink.

The door opens and the chill blows in two figures. Eleanor is bundled up in a puffer jacket, hat, and jeans with boots, and her arm is linked through that of August Roen. The coffee shop owner is shivering still from the wintery cold, or maybe nerves, as she kisses the bearded man's cheek. "Go get us a seat, I'll get the first round. What are you drinking tonight?"

Sparrow's applause is a little off in timing seeing as it's for Alison's news signaled across the bar rather than Hank's performance. At first, anyway. She catches up that the performance is concluding and redirects her attention thattaway. Brows pitch upward expectantly as if waiting for Rhys to single-handedly figure out what they're going to do, applying pressure through visual pressure alone, but Corey's arrival luckily breaks the wordless interrogation. "C!" She straightens up a bit to see to proper introductions, letting her brother know, "He's usually abiding," before offering, "My most magnificent little brother--" Beat. "--and twin, Corey. And my valentine. Who you probably fed without realizing at least once. Nearer to New Years." Eyes wide, she wonders, "Are yooooou singing?" of her brother.

Poor terrified Merry tips back a mouthful of pink-death-mix -- hard to peg what it tastes like -- and that is when a rose is thrust into her hand. Her free hand, that is. Before she can even respond to this, she's looking smack-dab into the face of an effervescent Park. The compliment widens her blue eyes, "O-oh..! Ah.. thank you?" She offers back, watching the Korean woman bustle off to get a drink. What just happened? She holds her rose close, looks a bit dumbfounded.. and slides her gaze over to observe the room at large. Who will volunteer? Who will sing?!

Hank grabs the book to see who all has come up so far, "Mister Scott, whenever you feel like heading up come on and we'll get you going!" he calls to the man.

"Almost certainly," Corey agrees to Sparrow's comment about having fed Rhys around New Years; a lot of food was made that week. A lot. "Uh, no. Nobody wants to hear me singing, Mena," he then tells his sister with a lazy grin and shake of his head, before his attention goes back to Rhys. "Corey," he confirms, as Sparrow does introductions. "Thanks, it's one of my favourites. For special occasions, you get me?" he adds, his grin lingering, before he casts a thoughtful eye towards the bar. Hmm. Alcohol.

August arrives with Eleanor, in his version of mildly upscale casual: black, merino wool sweater over a dark red, button down shirt, pale denim jeans, and black suede boots. Over that he's in a black pea coat, knit cap and scarf in bronze and green with a tree of life motif, and black leather gloves. Returns the kiss to Eleanor's forehead. "Black and tan, please." He meanders about, seeking a table to share. He's not sure if he'll sing tonight; he's still sore and moving stiff from that wild river ride.

...oh hey. There's Alison. Awkward! He occupies himself with snagging a table, though, and shedding his code, cap, and scarf.

Kim and Grace head through the door hand in hand. Kim dressed in one of her finer Gothic Loitia outfits. Full length black dress with red hearts sprinkled across the dress, it is Valentine's day after all, with ruffles and lace at the ends of her dress. Matching pair of black combat boots. Kim is more than a little tipsy already from drinking and dancing elsewhere and suggested hey Karaoke. Not drunk enough yet to take the stage but she's going to work on it. Waving to Park and Stephanie before tugging Grace in their direction.

Eleanor unzips her jacket as she makes her way to the bar. She orders one of the froo froo drinks for herself, and a black and tan for August. Then she makes a beeline to the karaoke signup and jots her name down quickly while they're being prepared. That done, she gathers up her order and joins August at whatever table he's found. "Is Itzhak coming out tonight?"

"On the other hand, wait for a little while before the drink, okay?" Scott offers to the bartender after having placed his order, grinning as he hears Hank's words, heading up to the stage. He is unable to hold back a grin as he quietly says what song he's decided on so they can get it ready, before he looks out to the people. "Hey, everyone. Glad to see you all here. Before I sing, I'd like to wish you all a happy Valentine's Day, if you're here as a couple, or if you're one of the people like me who might know that there's probably someone out there somewhere, but maybe it's just like in this song, hmmm?"

And then the music begins to play, and he waits for the right moment to start singing.

"I'm not surprised
Not everything lasts
I've broken my heart so many times
I stopped keepin' track
Talk myself in
I talk myself out
I get all worked up
Then I let myself down

I tried so very hard not to lose it
I came up with a million excuses
I thought, I thought of every possibility

And I know someday that it'll all turn out
You'll make me work so we can work to work it out
And I promise you kid, that I'll give so much more than I get
I just haven't met you yet"

As always, Scott is smiling widely while he's up on the stage, enjoying himself.

Stephanie waves at Grace and Kim as they enter and she smiles at Alison as she says, “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Alison.”

There are more and more familiar faces showing up. She walks over to Kim and Grace and she asks, “Do you mind if I join you two?”

She applauds at Scott’s performance.

Feeling the relaxing effects of pink-snockered-mix already (she kinda sucks at this tolerance thing), Merry listens happily to the first 'act'. Scott's grin and glee at being on stage is infectious, and the amusement pulls at Merry's lips as well. She applaudes heartily. It's nice to see folks enjoying themselves, feeling confident! The slight brunette slides onto a stool at the bar, excited to see (and hear) what happens next.

She really seems to be savoring the enjoyment in the room. The soft look of contentment in Merry's face is not just due to booze alone. Even if she's here solo, it's still a good time!

Kip's attention shifted ever so slightly as the next karaoke singer was announced. Smiling a little more. It was sure to be an interesting night and she was curious to see how the acts would progress as the night went on. She gave a round of applause for Scott's performance as well. "He's pretty good, yes?" She asked Meredith since she happened to be the closest to Kip. "Are you going to get up and sing?"

Having made his way through more of the song, Scott continues singing, still both relaxed and enjoying himself,

"They say all's fair
In love and war
But I won't need to fight it
We'll get it right
And we'll be united

And I know that we can be so amazing
And being in your life is gonna change me
And now I can see every single possibility

Mmm

And someday I know it'll all turn out
And I'll work, to work it out
Promise you kid, I'll give more than I get
Than I get, than I get, than I get

Oh you know it will all turn out
And you'll make me work, so we can work, to work it out
And I promise you kid, to give so much more than I get
Yeah I just haven't met you yet"

Singing the rest of the song, he smiles as he finishes. "Thank you! Enjoy the rest of the night, everyone."

"Just the romantic ones?" Rhys asks Corey, returning the grin. "Nice meeting you. And if you did accidentally feed me, I'm pretty sure I can assure you it was delicious." He applauded for Hank of course, and there's quick grins of greeting for various people he spots around the room, though that's interrupted by a sudden bright look back to Sparrow, snapping his fingers. "Got it," he exclaims, and leans in to murmur something near her ear, followed by an expectant look that suggests this is definitely a great plan, as he claps for Scott's performance.

A quick sip of her non-alcoholic red lemonade before Park is checking out Alison's look. "Wow! Look at you! Well, you probably can't look at you, not without a mirror. And you probably used a mirror otherwise you wouldn't look so hot. Oh! Do you have a date?" She's glancing around for who that could be...so many pretty ladies that it could be.

Glancing around also brings more targets for roses. "Be right back" she says to Alison with another hug before heading off to hand out roses. One for Eleanor - "Hi, I'm Park, can't wait to hear you sing. And you're so pretty." One for August - "HI, I'm Park. I love the scruff." She gives his chin a little scratch before off to the next targets; Kim and Grace. "Aww, look at you two, all in with the V.D.!" A pause while she thinks on this. 'That means Valentine's Day. You are such an awesome couple." A rose for them both before Park settles for a moment to listen to her bandmate sing.

Whooping and hollering for his work. "Yay, Scott!!!"

Opening the front door, and ducking under the doorjamb, Everett wastes no time getting to Hank. In a dead sprint the gorilla dashes towards Hank's setup, dodging waitresses and costumer's alike, his wild black hair following him like the freak flag it is. Wide-eyed and paniked, slamming his paws on the other man's table. "Did I make it? Is there time?"

The young woman claps once again, enjoying the notion of Scott's comfort in the whole deal. Her blue eyes flit from the man, back over to Kip.. his song continues to carry throughout the room, "He is... I wish I could have even a smidge of that courage. Maybe a few more of these.." She indicates her drink, squints to study Kips' own frilly selection. "How is that tasting? Strong enough? Strong enough for a song?" A soft little laugh, her head shaking slowly. "I... I really don't think I will, or can. It's too daunting.. and I don't know all that many songs.. ah.. heh," She drinks deeply of her cocktail.

"What about you? Are you much of a singer?" Merry asks of Kip, liking to hear her speak. Merry enjoys accents.

Hank gives a whistle to Scott, "Nice!" he claps for him. Then he's going back over to get his book to see who is next, but some big gorilla slams his paws onto his table. "You can go after Stephanie big guy." he tells him and lets him have the book to sign. Then Hank is going back to the stage, "Alright, our next singer is Miss Eleanor." he gives a grin.

Kim shakes her head vigorously to Stephanie "No of course not Stepie...ah is okay if I call you that? Sorry we got a start a little while ago." she giggles "It's good to see you out of the hospital and looking better. You look great tonight, so very cute." before leaning up to give Grace a kiss on the cheek leaving a black kiss shaped on said cheek "Not as cute as Grace-kanojo." Clapping at Scott's performance "Are you feeling okay?" she asks Stephanie "Also we should drinks." When Park comes up to offer a rose and both accept. Kim giggles again at her choice in words "Okay for a second I thought you meant something else. Thank you so much. It's great to see you and sorry I freaked out on you. Thinking back your words meant a lot...but I don't want to keep you from delivering roses."

"I recommend the, uh." Sparrow blinks and holds up her half-empty pink drink to give it a wiggle. "Whatever this is. It's got tequila." That's the important part. Well, that and that it's pink. When inspiration dawns on Rhys, she looks his way expectantly, tilting in when it comes in a whisper. The giddy giggling and happy nodding which follows expresses her approval. "This is gonna be dangerous without practice," she warns, one black brow arched high toward pale hair. But there's not actually any time to object. On her feet, she's dashing toward sign-ups while hooting her approval for Scott's performance.

August watches Eleanor write down her name, smiling, eyes narrowed. "Don't know," he says, accepting his beer and having a sip. "Maybe? He's not very Valentines-y, but maybe Isolde wouldn't mind him singing to her." He doesn't ask about her signing up, but it's there in his expression. 'I see you, Lake.'

He accepts the rose from Park with a blink. "Thanks," he says, setting the flower inside his jacket where it should be safe. He sets back, puts an arm around Eleanor. "Am I permitted to whistle embarrassingly for you?"

Mariah gives a chuckle to Lalo, "I mean, if that's the only reason you are here...I'll leave the present until tonight." she winks at him. "And why would I rant about my SO, he's great." she grins to him. "So no, you're good. Did you want to complain about me?" she teases him. "I'm surprised you aren't working." she offers quietly.

Eleanor blinks as Park bestows a rose upon her. "Thank you!" she calls after the girl. Then Hank is speaking. She gives August a blushing kiss and mumbles, "Sure." She shrugs out of her coat as her name is called, slugs back a good half of her froo-froo Valentine's day drink, and makes her way to the stage, looking incredibly shy about it. She's wearing jeans and a pink peasant blouse with boots, her hair down and wavy. The music begins, and its clearly Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know'. She takes in a breath and begins to sing. She's used to mostly singing in church, and the shower, and her car, but she's got a rather nice voice. Her eyes move to August as she begins the song.

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river, and it made me complete

Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin

"Nice thing about karaoke , no? They give you the words." Kip laughed and then shook her head. "No...I don't believe I will be singing much either. I am not very familiar with American music." She admits, finishing off her drink. "It is good! You should get one. I am getting another one," A motion to the bartender to signal this truth. "And how about yours? My name is Kip." She watches Eleanor as she gets up. "Ohh...I like this melody." She murmured, an absent thought mostly.

Enter a Baxter blithely into a bar. Grant looks around as if there's o crowd or a karaoke going on and spots- ah HA! His table. well it's his by association. Look... work with him on this. He cruises though and scores- oooh someone's waffle fry! He murmurs "Warlords." which makes this super legit. Sliding up to where Rhys, Sparrow and Corey are parked he greets his buddy with a tootsie roll pop. "I did not want yooooou to feel left out. Also? We're up after your sister, bruh." He grins so proud of himself. Did he clear this with Corey> Of course he did not! "Suuuuup duder." He offers a hand to Rhys. "Bax. " He looks to Sparrow signing <<Who dis?>>

Everything is fine, at least, it seems to be for the first time in a long time. “Yeah, I’ve been doing a lot better, Kim. And Grace, you also look great, you two are too cute!”

Steph is carrying a Long Island Iced Tea with her and she’s smiling for a change. ”I don’t mind the nickname but only because it’s you, Kim.”

She cheers for another singer who takes the stage.

Watching Eleanor slam half of her Cosmo, August says, "Looks like I'm driving home." He grins when he's given permission to whistle for her, and as she takes the stage, does exactly that. God, he sure can whistle. After the first couple of lines, he takes the rose back out of his jacket pocket and tucks it behind his ear. He sits back in his chair, watching her, expression intent. Is he thinking of signing up? Maybe...

Kass sidles into the Pourhouse at a much slower pace than Everett, certainly in no hurry to put herself up on stage. She ambles on over to the bar instead and orders a pair of drinks before turning to look around the room at who's still around and who's singing. Grant's appearance gets a smile and wave, which leads to a smile and wave towards Sparrow and Rhys as well! There's a nod for August, when she sees him, remembering the man from their previous encounters. Still, she sticks to the bar and lifts her bourbon to sip at it.

A grin back at Park as she showers Alison in compliments. "Thanks, you. No date, but maybe I'll catch someone's eye if I'm lucky?" She shrugs, grin still there. "Had this.. thing go on with my ears, got some help with it and I can actually hear again, pretty excited about that, so I decided to dress up some. I was pissed that I wouldn't be able to make it, but then I could, so here I am."

She claps for Scott as he finishes his song, but her glance around the room reveals August sitting at a table with what she can only presume is his date. When Eleanor gets up to head over to the stage, Alison gets up as well, heading over to him. Once standing near enough to August, "Glad to see you made it out of that thing in one piece. I'm Alison, by the way."

At which point Eleanor starts singing, making the redhead look over in her direction on stage, then back at him. "I'll get out of your hair. Have a good night!" If she feels any animosity towards the man, it's not evident in her voice or expression. She returns back to her stool and her drink, sipping down another gulp of pina colada. Hmm, tonight's turning out to be a little more business than casual.

Eleanor closes her eyes, getting deep into the lyrics as she holds the microphone stand with both hands, clutching it like a lifeline. August may call her brave about a lot of things, but singing in front of people is not one of them!

I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?

Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin

And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go
Somewhere only we know?

This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go
Somewhere only we know?

The song ends and she hustles back off the stage to her seat.

Scott smiles as he makes his way back to the bar, nodding a bit as he hears thhe song being sung by the next one. As he reaches the bar, he gets the drink he ordered earlier, taking sa sip from it as he looks between the other people by the bar for now.

"We.. uh, we are?" Corey glances up to Grant, taking the tootsie pop and smiling uncertainly. His free hand makes a few gestures at Bax's signed question; <<Her date, Rhys>>. Then he's popping the tootsie roll pop into his mouth, as a distraction from whatever Grant has signed them up to sing. It could be quite literally anything.

Observing Eleanor's offering next, Merry is watchful enough to note the trajectory of the woman's gaze. "Oh... how romantic.." Exhaled gently, her finger tapping beside her---empty glass! She waves to the bartender, indicates the remnants of Kip's drink. "M-may I try one of those?" Such a sweet trusting soul. Back to Kip, "Hah.. done!" A little smile, "It's nice to meet you, Kip.. my name is Meredith." She offers, "How long have you been stateside?" Asked next, shyly.. too forward? Merry silences, noting Kip being transported in the music, waits. She pushes a hank of hair back over a shoulder.

Alison gives a healthy round of applause and a soft cheer for Eleanor. She has a pretty voice, it's one of the redhead's favorite songs, and the incidental connection between herself and August is all reason enough to have paid closer attention than most people on stage tonight.

August sees Alison headed his way, and takes a drink of his beer to fortify himself. But...then she doesn't seem pissed. He blinks, slowly. "You too," he says. And then Ellie is singing and Alison has left. Well, it's not the best place to ask about her ears, really. Maybe he can catch her later.

His eyes stay on Eleanor the whole time, smiling when she closes hers. Hey, she's still up there singing, that's all that matters. He stands to greet her back at the table, holding out a hand to take hers. "Hey, you did great, that sounded fantastic."

Sparrow throws her arms right around Grant as she returns to the table, planting a big old kiss on the punk's cheek. Another round of introductions is due! "Rhys, my magnificent Valentine, allow me to introduce my husband, Grant." Nevermind that she's not wearing any ring and hasn't mentioned marriage at any point before now. Details. With that, she sinks right back in beside Rhys and kisses his shoulder, cheering for Eleanor with loud applause and a bit of hooting.

"I have been a few times over the years but..." Kip finally answers after a moment, looking back to Meredith with a smile. "But this is my first time here for the longer haul. I just got in a few days ago." She explains. When Scott comes back near she gives him a thumbs up. "You were good! A good song." Kip offered as she sipped at her newly replenished drink. "How long have you? I mean in town, not stateside. Have you live here long?" She asked Meredith.

Nodding briskly, Everett stands and tries, for a moment to get his breathing under control. Just how far did he run, anyways. With his order secured, Everett signs in, then combs his fingers through his hair, putting his strands back over his shoulders. Try to recover some of that cool. So cool. So brooding. Sideways glances; then he clears his throat. Finding the shock of newly arrived redhead, the giant heads himself in that direction, and puts himself to use, standing behind her, and over a shoulder where he can loom effectively, "I made it just in time," he explains with his deep voice, reaching for her bourbon to sample it as well, then glancing towards the stage.

Kim smiles at Stephanie "That's great!" going to offer a hug to her "Thank you. You know this night only comes once a year and I am finally with someone who appreciates the holiday. And all the..." she has some to drink but not enough to finish that thought yet. Jumping up and giggling "Thank you Stepie. And you can give me any nickname you want to. Oh do you want another drink, on me. I know you aren't done with that one yet." she turns to turns to the barkeeper "Can I get I don't know something pink with a lot of alcohol in it and whatever Stephanie wants. Oh and please open a tab." she reaches into her purse and offers up her card for the tab.

Eleanor is one giant shade of blushing by the time she reaches August and slides into his embrace. "I can't believe I did that! Happy Valentine's Day," she murmurs to him with a grin, green eyes glittering.

A nod to Scott as he reaches the bar, and Merry digresses to offer with a smile: "You were great. Will you go back up later for an encore?" She asks outright, her blue eyes kind. Back to Kip, "Welcome, then. I'm afraid I do not have a very exotic answer to give you.. born and raised here. It's home." Merry's smile widens, "Are you finding your way around town well enough?" Asked of the Russian woman as Merry's drink -- identical to Kip's -- arrives. She lifts it in toast to both Scott and Kip, and drinks. Looks pleased.

"The present, huh? Well, that can be the second reason." Lalo leans back, reaching up to lace his fingers behind his head as he looks at Mariah. "I think I'll save the complaining for my journal," he quips back. "I like to be able to edit when I'm complaining." He looks over at the current singer, and when it's done he shifts his hands to clap, before turning back to Mariah. "Think I could request someone else sing it?" he asks. "I don't have the range."

Kass pre-empts Everett's taking of her drink by holding up one for him. She did order two! Nodding up at him, she chuckles, "I guess you did at that. I'll stay right over here and watch you. Support from afar." Smiling briefly with a glance up at him, she settles back in to see who is up next.

Stephanie points at the drink she’s holding after Kim orders her a drink. Then she sits in front of Kim with a smile, as if she’s got a secret she’s keeping. “Uh huh, all right, Kimmycakes, you got it!” She grins proudly at the nickname as she drinks.

Hank watches Eleanor and there's a smile when she's done, "Thank you, Miss Eleanor." he tells her. Then he looks to his book to see who is on next, "Miss Park! You're up next." he calls out. Then he's hopping off stage again to get things ready.

Park cheers for Eleanor and her song and once it is done, she stands there for a moment as if there is something on her mind. "Oh, I'm next!!" Park dashes for the stage, stopping at the Sparrow table to hand out roses to all present. "You look awesome, Sparrow. Love the hair." And then she is bounding on stage after giving Hank her romantic song choice. Standing at the mic, she places her remaining roses down before waving to everyone. "Hi, I'm Mee. But you can call me Park instead if you like because Mee gets confusing. Thanks to everyone who came out to WinterFest! And yay for V.D.! I hope you're all giving your loved ones plenty of V.D. goodness tonight."

"I ordered a chicken and an egg from Amazon. I’ll let you know." Park's stand-up career continues to whither.

The music kicks in as she finally sings:

I really love you baby, I love what you've got

Let's get together, we can get hot

No more tomorrow, baby time is today

Girl, I can make you feel okay

No place for hidin' baby, no place to run

You pull the trigger of my

Love gun, love gun

Love gun, love gun

The parka comes off to reveal a 'KISS me!' t-shirt, with the members of Kiss on it.

Rhys grins at Sparrow, spreading both hands in a gesture that probably could be translated as something in the 'I know, right?' family, though he might prefer slightly different phrasing if he were actually using his words. The warning isn't ignored, but she's already going... so maybe she will and maybe she won't hear the "Danger's our middle name," that goes with the shrug as she does. "I realise that might be a shock to you," he adds to her twin, "but that was the first stop today. Deed poll at city hall, then karaoke. The traditional celebrations." Everett's entrance draws his attention, and he glances over to the guy for a moment, then gives him a thumbs up. Made it this time, yes!

Bax gets a friendly grin as he joins them, and a reply of, "Rhys. Hey," before the redhead takes a reasonable swallow of his drink. Which he manages not to lose when Sparrow comes back and claims 'husband', somehow. Does get the brows lifting, though. "Last I heard was boyfriend, did you have a wedding and not invite me? Because I need to know how hurt to be, here." It's not so convincing really when he catches Kass's wave and waves brightly back to her, before turning back to be solemnly maybe-hurt again. Plus the glances toward the singing. And the applause. Look, all in all it's not going to win him an Oscar.

Mariah gives a look across to her other half and there's a grin, "Oh I see how it is, now I have to find your journal." she teases him. "And yes, a present. We've been dating for a bit, no reason to forget it." she grins at him. "I mean, if you want, Hank can sing it." she tells him with a smile. "And everyone does the singing for fun mostly." she smiles.

"Happy Valentine's Day, sweetheart," August says, leaning in to give Eleanor a kiss, light and sweet and not too dirty for public consumption. "I can. You're the bravest person I know. And thanks for the song." Another kiss for her forehead, then he leans back and claps for Park. He spies Kass and nods a hello to her as wall.

With amusement, the ape shakes his head softly, one of them has less in it since he's been sipped and maybe even lipstick marks. Maybe those are the reasons he's interested in taking that one. But the one provided also suffices, which he proves by mouthing his thanks when he takes the one offered and leans in to better hear Kass. Nodding, Everett leans back again, thinks for a moment while he scans the scan, and then looks back down at Kass, his smiling returning, "But its a duet," he counters. "You have to sing it with me," the mirth causes his eyes to twinkle.

"More or less. I have met a few interesting people thus far." Kip conceded, "It is an interesting town, many things to explore." Her eyes widened a bit at the next song, now being sung by the rose giving young woman. "What is this song?" She asked with a hint of pink on her cheeks as she started to laugh again. "Not that...songs from home are any better but...still.." She murmured. "What do you think of the drink?"

Sparrow squeaks a happy, "Thank you!" for Park which may be as much for the rose as for the compliment. Catching Kass a bit belatedly, well after any wave was sent her way, she waggles her flower that direction before she sets to picking the thorns and leaves down a bit with every intention of wearing it in her hair. Or behind her ear. Near enough. "No no," she assures Rhys. "Bax--" She means Grant. "--was never my boyfriend. That's AJ." She gives a little brow-waggle his way, entirely teasing. "Maybe I should start introducing you as my captain?"

"Thank you," Scott replies to both Kip and Meredith. "I'm very glad you liked it," he adds, before he grins. "Always loved the karaoke nights. A good chance to have some fun. Will any of you be singing tonight?" He grins as Park goes to the stage, letting out a cheer for her before listening to the song.

All the music and singing probably drowned out the tinny growl of a straight-piped exhaust coming in to park outside the bar. Probably. The door would open a short time later to allow entrance for a bulky latino, his meaty hands rubbing together in both a warming, and a readying sort of gesture. Two for One Apps was like a siren's call for a man his appetite. He puffs into his hands once more as he glances around, finding a table, and more importantly a chair, that would fit him. He makes his way through to find himself a spot to lean over the bar briefly and put in an order for food and... his face scrunches in thought, sure, he could talk his way into it... a mojito. He jerks a big thumb at an empty table and walks himself over to it, easing down into a seat and pulling off his jacket, facing the stage with an actual genuine grin. He loved music events.

Grant looks up and whistles in a sharp trill for Eleanor's adorable little ditty. Turning the grin widens with a wave to Kass. Solidarity! Man... he still has no drink yet. Really does he need one? Meh. He smiles to Rhys confused, "What? We never got married. She's just my wife." A dur. Welcome back to Gray Harbor, Rhys. Looking to Corey he says, "I can't stick around long. Thought I'd come hang with you, cheer up your sister which-" he looks to Rhys nodding solemnly, "Well done. After this I'm gonna bounce and drop something off aaand either get laid or a pint of Ben and Jerry's 'Chubby Hubby' with the lil pretzels in it and watch Paul Rudd movies."

Eleanor settles in to work on the other half of her pink drink and nestles against August, cheering for Park. "I used to loathe this holiday," she notes to August. Of course she did. She was a hermit with a head full of conspiracy theories and a fear of the entire town.

The rapidly pinkening brunette claps her hands together with much gusto for Park, the previously-given rose resting behind one ear. Meredith is looking more-and-more relaxed.

"I have not heard this before! But it's upbeat, isn't it? I like it! But it's also because of her energy, too!" Sweet Merry exclaims, looking away from Park and back to Kip and Scott. "The drink is... pretty good! I need to be careful!"

To Scott, "I.. don't think I have the guts for it. I don't even have a song!"

Park is bouncing along to the hard rock. Right hand raised to show off 'Devil Horns' while her left clings to the mic stand. Eyes's scrunched up as she belts out the song.

You can't forget me baby, don't try to lie
You'll never leave me, mama, so don't try
I'll be a gambler, baby lay down the bet
We get together, mama you'll sweat

No place for hidin' baby, no place to run
You pull the trigger of my
Love gun, love gun
Love gun, love gun
Love gun, love gun

As the song ends, Park gives another happy wave to the world. "Have a great night, everyone. Pull those triggers." A pause as she decides she should explain. "It's a song about his penis. Hmm, I think I should write an equivalent song for the lesbians out there." Now with another goal in life, she leaves the stage to start handing out roses again as she heads back to the bar.

Kim's drink gets delivered and she drinks heavily from it. Of course she knew Stephanie had a drink already, but was offering another. "Kimmycakes?" she thinks it over. You know what "I love it Stepie. Oh and fair warning I get a little flirty after some drinks. So don't take me too seriously." Grace shakes her head knowing full well how Kim can get <Kim was given permission for a little power posing until the other player can make it and trying not to overdo it.> Giving a cheer for Park as she sings. Wishing her friend didn't call it V.D. but hey it's no worse than she has said at times.

"Nope. You'll have to find someone in the crowd to sing, I don't do anything that puts a spotlight on my face." Kass shakes her head and grins up at Everett. There's no lipstick marks cause Kass is not a makeup girl. Not in that sense anyways. She sips her drink and grins towards Sparrow and Grant and Rhys and Corey with another of those Big Waves (tm). She lifts her drink towards the quartet before looking back up to Everett, "I know three of them. Grant was like.. the first person to be cool to me after I got back. Sparrow was super awesome recently. And Rhys.. well, he was the closest thing I had to a boyfriend in the Before Time."

Park's song makes Hank giggle a little, "That's my jam!" the big guy tells them. He then goes to look at the book after Park gets off the stage. "Alright, Miss Stephanie, you're up!" he calls.

Alison can't help but smirk at Park's antics, between the shirt, the awful jokes, and the song itself. She puts down the pina colada she's been nursing, though, in order to clap for her friend once she's done. She offers the woman a grin once she returns to the bar. "Anyone ever tell you that you have a way with words, Mee?"

Awh yeah, Park's singing Kiss. August claps all that much louder. Itzhak's going to regret not being here. He takes one of Eleanor's hands and kisses the back of it, gives her an amused look. "Yeah? I missed a lot of them, out in the field. Only came back in for the big ones."

Kip giggled again, giving Merry a nudge. "It is a good song. Just. Unexpected." She agreed and gave Scott a little grin. "No no. As I was telling Meredith. I'm not very familiar with your music here." Kip exhaled softly and then laughed at Merry's comment of being careful. "You should be, yes. Lightweight's do not fare well in the morning light. " But of course, that doesn't stop from another round being ordered for the pair of them. "za zdaróvye!" She lifted her glass some, apparently some kind of toast/cheer before taking a longer sip.

Eleanor smiles at August as she claps more for Park. "I wasn't a terribly social individual outside of my coffee shop until you came along. I know, shocking," she notes with a look of fake surprise on her face and a melodramatic gasp to go with it.

Classic rock coming on the speakers, Everett puts the glass down so he can applaud over his head, turning his torso so when he hoots an encouraging "YEAH!" it's not directed at sensitive ears nearby. Rhys' attention earns a high handed single wave hello before he turns his attention back down to Kass whom he may be crowding standing so close to, but its how she told him to stand once and he's just remembered. "Well? It's much to the spotlight's misfortune," replies Everett, caressing Kass' cheek with the back of his wide hand then nods while she explains who they are to her at the other table." Rhys gets another look before Kass is addressed, "Do you wanna..." he lingers, "buy them a round or go say hello? Both? It's your night, Kass." When Hank makes his announcement Everett smirks, "I'm after this one."

"Well, as options go, those don't suck," Rhys says to Bax, "Good luck on column A, though. And thanks, I do my best." The specification of titles doesn't necessarily clear things up all that much, but as earlier stated, he is abiding. "Yes. You should definitely start introducing me as your captain. Possibly oh captain your captain, depending how dramatic you're feeling," he replies to Sparrow, and gives her shoulder a light bump with his. There's a little buzz in his pocket, and he takes a quick glance at the phone, reading a thing and tapping something swiftly back before he slips it away again and claps for Park, giving her song a low whistle of approval.

Stephanie steps up to the stage with a smile on her face, and for those who know her, they know this is the first time all week she’s been out in public.

“I want to dedicate a song to someone who’s been there for me when things got tough this week and really turned things around for me. Kim, you’re amazing and I’m glad you are in my life. You might be one of my newest friends, but you’ve already made a lifelong friend out of me.”

And she sings a song that might be a little obscure but she sings it with intent and purpose.

Somewhere there's a river
Looking for a stream
Somewhere there's a dreamer
Looking for a dream
Somewhere there's a drifter
Trying to find his way
Somewhere someone's waiting
To hear somebody say

I believe in you
I can't even count the ways that
I believe in you
And all I want to do is help you to
Believe in you

Somewhere there's an angel
Trying to earn his wings
Somewhere there's a silent voice
Learning how to sing
Some of us can't move ahead
We're paralyzed with fear
And everybody's listening
'Cause we all need to hear

I believe in you
I can't even count the ways that
I believe in you
And all I want to do is help you to
Believe in you

A chiming giggle and Merry looks at Kip with glowing, happy eyes: "F-forgive my being blunt, but I suspect you have me beat in the tolerance department." Because Russian. Merry giggles despite herself, her color high. Even as another round is ordered, Merry just leaves her sensibilities behind.... it's all in good fun. She needs fun. She lifts her own drink to toast, just in time for Park's arrival to the bar. "To good music! To roses!" Merry is looking a lot pinker, in comparison to how she appeared when the roses were doled out.

"Nah, they're all there together. Its fine, I'm sure I'll catch up with them later." Kass shakes her head and smiles up at Everett. Chuckling lightly and nudging him with an elbow, "Technically its YOUR night, Ev. I'm just here for support and to drink. You're the one singing." She tugs her phone from her back pocket and glances over it, tapping something out and tucking the phone away again.

"You just did" Park grins to Alison upon her return to her red lemonade - hopefully no one has spiked it. "You will definitely find an awesomely lovely woman to have fun with tonight" she giggles to her friend. "Who would turn down your major league hotness? You were deaf? Oh, that sucks. I hope I didn't damage it again. Kass!!" A rose for another redhead before she looks up...and up...at Everett and hands him one too. A wave for Kim and Grace - there's a lot of waving going on - before she returns to Alison to watch Stephanie sing. "For Kim? That's so sweet. Have you met Kim and Grace, Alison? Cutest couple. Kim even offered to support me if I wanted to give up dentistry and do music full time. How nice is that!"

I will hold you up
I will help you stand
I will comfort you when you need a friend
I will be the voice that's calling out

I believe in you
I can't even count the ways that
I believe in you
And all I want to do is show you
I believe in you
And there are just so many ways that
I believe in you
Baby, what else can I do but believe in you, believe in you
All I want to know is you believe, believe in you

“Thank you, everyone!” Stephanie says after her song with a confidence most have never seen from her before she rejoins Kim and Grace.

Hank gives a round of applause for Stephanie and there's a smile, "Nice singing!" he tells her. Then he's looking to the book and around for Everett, "Mister Everett, it's your turn at the mic." he tells the man.

Kim and Grace wave back to Park. They both clap and cheer for Stephanie as she finishes up. When she gets back to the pair Kim speaks up "You were just great. You should really sing more often, I really wish I had your voice. Just fantastic....what other hidden skills do you have Stepie?"

This is, apparently, the funniest thing Kip's heard all night because when Merry makes the comparison of drinking habits she just looses it. Setting her drink down and needing to take a minute to collect herself. "Bozhe ty moy. Ahah..I-I might be! " She breathed out and gives a cheer for the next singer to finish. "Everyone is so good!" She sank into her stool, sweeping her gaze briefly around the bar to the patrons.

"Being highly social is overrated." August bobs his eyebrows at Eleanor, has a sip of beer. "As someone who used to and now doesn't, I know what I'm talking about." He leans into Eleanor, cheers for Stephanie. The song's not familiar, but he likes folk plenty.

Alison snorts at Park. "Doesn't HAVE to be a woman. You never know. I've been thinking about this one guy.. well, two, kinda, lately.. they don't seem to be here tonight, though. Whatever. Yeah, it was a thing for a few days but it's all good now."

She shakes her head when asked if she knows Kim and Grace, but raises a hand and the corners of her mouth in greeting to them. "Hi!"

Eleanor chuckles at August and she applauds for Stephanie. She sips from her glass some more, taking it a bit more easy now that the whole serenading thing is done. "Well I'm glad to socialize with you."

"Good luck," Lalo says with a grin. "If anything's gonna make you break up with me, that'd be it." He looks over at the stage again, watching for a second or two before he looks back to his table companion. "I might just do that," he says. "Sure as hell not gonna sing anything myself. Unless you want the whole bar cleared out in a minute, 'cause if so, then sure." He starts to say something else, but there's a buzzing from his pocket, and he reaches in to take out his phone, looking at the screen. There's a little face, before he slides it back and leans across the table to kiss Mariah again. "Gotta cover a shift," he says when he pulls back. "Breakfast tomorrow? I'll give you your present."

"Has our trip been fearful?" Sparrow croons to Rhys with eyes happily half-lidded. "Has our prize been won?" Eyes widening, she skips right out of the realm of poetry and asks, "Are you gonna gimme some good hip swiveling?" That look she angles him says please say yes plain as day, in spite of all that might mean for her half of their duet. Beneath the table, she nudges a boot against Bax's leg and tells him, "Still welcome in my bed. Even if I don't make it back tonight. AJ is an A-plus snuggler."

"Well," his army green eyes roll up and to his left, while Everett finds a balance with Kass, "I guess it can be our nights. Your Valentine's, and my 'Not singing in the shower'." He leans into Kass, picking up the bourbon she's got him and if he where a better man might notice that every time they get together, she's always getting him drinks. But he isn't. When he phone makes an appearance he nuzzles her temple with his lips before looking away; being this tall he may otherwise inadvertently see something he shouldn't and sips from his drink again. He's interrupted mid-pull by Park. A tick of consideration of her offer and Everett bends at the waist to open his mouth. Feed the beast. And then it's his turn.

Mariah gives a look to Lalo and there's a grin, "Nah, not worried about that and certainly not breaking up with you." she tells him with a wink. Then his pocket buzzes and she nods to that. She understood the job. She kisses him in return, "You be careful, baby. And breakfast sounds lovely. I'll come keep the bed warm for you." she grins to that. "Text me when you get to work so I know nothing ran off with you." she adds with a look to him.

"Park! Hey!" Kass actually goes in for the hug this time. Progress! And she accepts the rose. "How's things?" Then Everett's turn is up and she's laughing and shoo'ing him towards the stage, "Up you go, knock 'em dead, big man!" She grins back at Park, "I promised to support at karaoke."

“It’s not exactly hidden,” Stephanie points out to Kim, looking around at the crowd with a smirk. “I play the ukulele. Taught myself with the help of YouTube.” She is drinking and having fun, and she’s got her phone out, considering texting someone despite her intoxicated state.

Kim does notice Alison's hand going towards the pair. She walks over for moment "Hi person I don't know. My name's Kim Nakamura." extending her non drinking hand to Alison catching another part of the talk "What is wrong with woman?" she asks seemingly seriously before giggling "Sorry, sorry. A little much too drink."

Merry cries out with laughter, partly due to Kip's amusement. It eggs her on. "Of course you are!" She declares outright, meaning it. Merry doesn't stand a chance because aren't Russians like... booze warriors?! Okay presumptuous but.. but.. true. Merry can't even. She leans forth, looks sideward to Kip. "S-so.. if you were to sing a song... what would you sing? Maybe it will give me courage, too!"

Lalo's grin gets, if possible, even wider at the promise, and he wiggles his eyebrows up and down a few times exaggeratedly, before he stands up. "Sounds good," he confirms, laying a hand on her shoulder before he steps away, as though it's quite difficult. "Almost makes me want to say I can't cover," he admits with a little laugh. He's slightly more serious as he continues, "I will. See you, mama." He turns then, to start toward the exit.

"You bang who you want to bang" Park assures Alison. "Just as long as you have fun. And, hey, I'm free" she giggles before grinning at Kass. "Things are awesome. Have you seen E at one of these before? He likes to twerk. Oh my gosh, are you two..."

Then there is a Kim to introduce. "Hey, Kim, this is my awesome sexy friend, Alison. You two should definitely be friends. Your friend was an awesome singer. I hope she liked the rose." Park is referring to Stephanie.

A glance over at Kip and Meredith getting on so well makes Park smile happily. Love is in the air...or is that the corn dogs.

Putting the glass down, Everett heads towards the stage, finger-gunning Hank on the way past rather than saying anything. Since he can't with the rose in his mouth by way of little Asian fingers or his own. When he climbs on the to sage and adjusts the microphone, all with the flower still in his mouth, then gives the cue to let the music start playing. The regulars know his songs are always sad. And usually spoken, in some respect. The song is fading from popularity. The flower comes out of his mouth before he starts to sing.

Say something, I'm giving up on you
I'll be the one, if you want me to
Anywhere I would have followed you
Say something, I'm giving up on you

And I am feeling so small
It was over my head
I know nothing at all

And I will stumble and fall
I'm still learning to love
Just starting to crawl

Grant flashes a grin, a little tired but he's dipped through the darkness, into catatonic awakeness, past the mania, and is arriving at giving his brain a break. "Heh yeah well AJ is the best of us for a reason. And I think we can all learn a lesson here." He pauses adding, "And an attention span long enough to keep up with said learning because-" he signs what is likely some variety of Dear Lord... His eyes go up and whistle again for Stephanie's tribute. "Man lots of talent out here I can't wait to ruin that streak." Looking to Rhys his head dips in a , "Weeeeell thank you, " His fingers work with spoken language signing as he goes, "Lil nervous but ya know, I got my win scenarios planned out. "

Alison smirks at Kim. "Oh, nothing. I mean, it's usually women with me, but not always." Her eyes look the shorter woman over, and then back to meet her gaze. "You call a little slip like that too much to drink? My line's usually when I start taking clothing off in public. Or mixed company, at least."

Another smirk back at Park. "You are, huh. Then why'd you ask me for $300 last time I texted you?" Wink.

"That's convenient, because I happen to like socializing with you," August says, bobbing his eyebrows at Eleanor. He looks out over the crowd, watching everyone mingle and drink. Then Everett's singing--or, speaking--and he makes a low sound of appreciation. Not everyone's willing to go sad on Valentine's.

Mariah gives a look to Lalo, giving the man a smile, "Well, you have the morning to look forward to sweets. So I will see you then." she grins to him. Then she's watching him head out the door with a bit of a warm smile. She did enjoy seeing that man. She then gathers the rest of her paperwork together and heads for the back.

Kim glances back over her shoulder to Stephanie "I am sure you have some much hidden Stepie." giving her a wink. Kim did warn her after all. "Seriously though the ukuele like that guy..." she tries to think of the name and can't "Tip tongue through the tulips with me guy. That is so awesome." another heavy drink until she drains her glass. Going back to the bar to set it down and getting another. Looking down at the phone as she comes back and noting the hesitation "You don't have to say anything, but if you want to text someone right now maybe you should."

Nodding to Park "Okay cool...good to meet you Alison. Yeah Stepie is...I didn't ask her if she liked the rose. And when say awesome sexy...wow you really mean it don't you?"

"No, not yet, and if you play your cards right, in that order," Rhys replies to Sparrow, tilting his head on the last one and giving her a sidelong look, brows raised. A bit more of his drink, taking a moment to properly watch the performances, and he shoots Kass another quick grin when Everett heads up, then waits to see what the big guy's going to come out with this time. "Are those them or is there an even higher win-condition in store?" he asks Grant, catching the signing but not looking like he's particularly getting the meaning of it. So, probably a good thing there's spoken words too.

Eleanor arches a brow at August. "Is that what the kids are calling it these days? Socializing?" she quips. She squints at the goth behemoth on the stage singing sad songs. "Well, that's not something you see everyday."

Stephanie sees the rose. “Thank you,” she says with an equally grateful smile when she finally notices, her drunk mind still distracted with her phone.

Stephanie is a chronic drunk texter and it’s going to be a problem. A fun problem but a problem nonetheless.

Watching Everett singing, Kass flashes him a grin and a thumbs up before stealthily making her way towards the Dj table and Hank. She murmurs something to the man and smiles, then slips away back to the bar. Ninja vanish! What do you mean, Kass never lef tthe bar. See? She's right there, sipping her drink and grinning back towards Rhys before looking back up to Everett.

Near-empty drink in one hand, Sparrow wraps her other about Rhys' arm comfortably, certainly appearing to be on the brighter side of the holiday even as she turns the whole of that happy focus on the more somber performance up on stage. For the moment, the former redhead sinks into contented quietude and just enjoys the show.

Putting his right arm over the stand, holding the rose, Everett continues. He closes his eyes, putting feeling into the majoritively spoken word, the rose dangling loosely from his right fingers. As of yet, no twerk.

Say something, I'm giving up on you
I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you
Anywhere I would have followed you
Say something, I'm giving up on you

And I will swallow my pride
You're the one that I love
And I'm saying goodbye

Say something, I'm giving up on you
And I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you
And anywhere I would have followed you

"How is he going to twerk to this song?" Park muses as she watches Everett before a bright blush at Alison's words. "I never did ask you for $300. Oh my gosh!" Wheels turn slowly. "Oh, you're kidding. I get it. Gosh, like I would charge $300."

"You sang really good" Park grins at Stephanie, even giving her a thumbs up. "Want to be in a band? Tiny Tim!" That last sudden yell directed at Kim. "He was soooo cool. Did you know he made a horror film once where he played a killer clown?"

Her gaze falls on Everett again. "How could he be so miserable with Kass around?" she frowns.

Kip leans her head in towards Merry as the woman asks about her song choices. "Ohhh not sure. Does it have to be American?" She ponders, because of course her first thoughts are all in Russian. So she takes another sip as she contemplates and then, "Oh! That one song. That recently came out. Big hit. I heard it coming in...uhm. Something about...bad bitches and...hairwashing." She finally decided and then bursts into laughter again. "I have no idea what it is called. But good rhythm. What of you?"

Alison blushes a little more at Kim's agreement than she had at Park's initial introduction. "Am not sexy, cut that out. Sure you did, though, Mee! You said your usual price was $500 and the friend discount was $300. Or was that the redhead pity discount?" She gets that out, just barely containing a laugh. No hope in holding the grin back, though.

No twerk, but he has been practicing, in the shower. The high pitched, and song Ohs make his closed eyes cletch tightly before he issues the last several lines:

(Oh-oh-oh-oh)

Say something, I'm giving up on you
Say something, I'm giving up on you
Say something...

And upon option his eyes, and sees a Kass who certainly hadn't moved, takes his right arm off the microphone stand, pulls back and throws it backhandedly out into the crowd. But roses aren't known for their weight or aerodynamics and by sheer random number determination, the floor lands closest to Kim. Everett watches the flower flutter and land where it wasn't supposed it, making a face, a shrug, and exits the stage like he ought to, returning to Kass.

The brunette laughs outright, "I... I don't recall, truly. It does not sound familiar.. isn't that awful? I should know!" Merry drawls.... drawls. Her sweet, anachronistic voice is beginning to SLUR a bit! She sips her drink quickly, then pauses to consider. "Please excuse me for a moment... all of this pink mess and suddenly... I need to use the facilities! Watch my drink a moment if you could?" She slides off of the stool, long hair fluttering behind her. "Back shortly!"

For a change Kim goes to hug Park while giving a giggle "Yes Tiny Tim. That is his name. Yeah I so remember him playing a killer clown. Really it fits with the Ukulele. I just find it fitting for a creepy instrument." to maybe Everett's surprise she cheers for him more than anyone else before. She is trying to make up for her past behavior.

Glancing at Alison "No you so are. If I didn't have a girlfriend I would so be hitting on you harder. But I do so there is that. Oh you call her Mee as well? So few do. You know what either you or Mee put anything you want to drink on my tab. I'm buying for five tonight."

Hank looks like he might be tearing up. When Everett is done, the man claps for him, "Ladies, his name is Everett. Buy him a drink." he states. Then he looks to his list, "We've got a few more this evening and then everyone can go home and snuggle. Except Mariah. Because she's the boss lady." he grins. "Next up we have a duet. Miss Sparrow and Mister Rhys!" he cheers them on.

Kass claps and cheers for Everett as he winds down on his song, laughing when the rose is tossed but falls short. She waggles the one she's still holding and motions him back towards the bar. Readying another round of bourbon and letting out a sharp and loud two-finger whistle for Sparrow and Rhys.

There is a clear mischievous look on Stephanie’s face as she thanks Park for the compliment. “I just love to sing for fun. I’m not like a pro or anything.”

She chuckles. “...I might regret this in the morning but right now it’s fun.” Anyone who is looking will see fingers speeding across Steph’s phone.

Kip grinned. "If I find it, I will show you." She promises Merry and then relaxes against the bar with a content sigh. "It will be safe with me." Is promised of the drink as the girl wanders off and she tunes in to the next set of singers.

Sparrow hoots loudly for Everett when his sad song ends with that rose cast dramatically out over the crowd, that cheerful sound descending into giggles. But then Hank announces that she and Rhys are up next. Which requires that she down the last of her already almost gone drink and get right to her feet, hand extended to her captain--err, valentine, whatever--to needlessly lead him up onto stage. Though she has no swishy skirt to swish, she gives her cotton-and-denim-clad hips a bit of wiggling after she relinquishes her partner's hand to claim her mic. She starts facing the audience then turns to Rhys... and then faces the audience. No. Rhys. Okay. Yes. Let's do this. Music!

A large hand is placed on the small of Kass' back when Everett gets back to her, a soft smile on his lips, his eyebrows raised while he glances at the bar before them. "What'd you think?" he asks, before picking up the last bourbon he didn't finish and steels his nerves with doing just that, then, and then, glances around to the other applauders, and nodding his thanks. Like her, his attention turns to the stage, for a moment, then back to add to Kass, "See, if they can do a duet," and leaving the rest of the sentence there.

Kim giggles at Stephanie's reaction to park. Looking to the EMT "Go for it! Sorry, sorry I am now ready to sing...I hope that sign ups haven't closed." oh right she forgot to actually sign up for singing. Glancing to the phone she takes out her own and sends a message. After it is done giving mischievous grin to Stephanie. After she'll listen to want people have to say before heading over in Everett's and Kass's direction.

"Singing in a band is singing for fun. For everyone's fun!" Park replies to Stephanie before leaving her to her sexting. It's Valentine's Day, of course it's sexting.

"Alison! You are always free because you're my friend! And you're definitely sexy." Park purses her lips in thought for a moment. "Do you think I could get $500? That's almost dentistry rates. And Kim's girlfriend is gorgeous too." Park happy to returns hugs with Kim. "You know what's a really creepy instrument? The Badgermin. I mean, what is up with that? Why combine a theremin and a badger?"

"Ooh, Sparrow is up! She's a drummer in another local band. Such an awesome hitter."

In a pair of black and white checkered, tight fitting pants and an over sized hot pink hoodie Nova enters the joint. Spotting her brother in the corner, she strolls over to steal some of the snacks she knows he has. Wallflower wasn’t her specialty, but the newcomers were at a disadvantage socially. Also she was very late, having lost track of time working on fitting a design to a ‘97 Nissan.

For a Valentines Karaoke event, there seemed to be an awful lot of pairings and a negligible amount of sad drunks.

"You were good!! That was really awesome! I didn't recognize the song at first, but its been awhile since I heard it." Kass flashes a grin up at Everett and throws back the last of her bourbon right as the next round arrives. She offers one glass out to Everett and keeps the other for herself as she turns her attention to the stage. "Your song wasn't a duet though."

Every song is clapped for, whistled for. Even though he didn't have anyone to hang out with, Rekani was having a blast watching the townsfolk one after the other sing their hearts out. It was great fun. Meanwhile he was absolutely crushing a full plate of wings and some cheese fries, and on a third mojito.

This was really one of his first opportunities to look around the townsfolk and it was really dawning in him one by one, how each of them were different. Differemt like how his sister was different from anyone else they'd ever been around. It's curious, to notice, but finishing off a third mojito starts to take the edge off.

Briefly, covertly, he lifts his shirt, unzipping a fanny pack (they're totally coming back, people) and pulling out a bottle of Cholula to shake onto his fries. It doesn't seem like it should fit, but really, who cared to notice?

"Hermana!" Rekani cheerfully greets Nova, pushing a chair out with his foot for her, "Took you long enough. These people are good!"

A roll of the eyes from Alison at Kim's statement. "You're pretty cute yourself, but story of my life these days. Who woulda thought that a small town with so many queer women in it would all be hooked up already. Don't get your hopes up TOO much, though, usually I'm in a grungy ass t-shirt and jeans not giving a fuck unless I'm trying to swing a few good tips at the Grizzly." She lifts a hand dismissively towards Kim at the offer of drinks. "Thanks, but I'm good. I drove, so I don't wanna get more than one pina colada in me. But yeah, she introduced herself to me as Mee at one point, so that's what I went with?" A shrug.

To Park, a grin. "Honestly, no idea. That's not my kinda scene. Might have to ask a professional. I can imagine that dudes would be willing to spend a few bucks on your cute ass, though." Sparrow's taking of the stage gets Alison's attention in a hurry. She'll offer a round of clapping and a bit of cheering before the bottle-blonde-for-now woman starts singing.

Stephanie smirks. She isn’t sexting a stranger. She might be sexting a stranger. She is definitely flirting hard.

“I’m not really a band person, but we could jam I guess?” she tells Park.

She seems to be very carefree at this point.

Rhys leans in to Sparrow's claim on his arm, turning his head to give her a kiss by the ear, and watches Everett, clapping when the guy's done and throwing in a whistle for good measure. When Hank calls them up, he drains a good portion of what's left of his drink in probably-unintentional synchrony with Sparrow, then accepts her hand and allows himself to be led onstage, accepting a mic from Hank as they pass.

He also has no swishy skirt, but that's probably for the best, frankly. Turning to face Sparrow, he lifts the mic, and as the music begins, sings with the most soulful earnestness he can muster, "Now, I've... had... the time of my life; no I've never felt like this before," punctuated with heartfelt-clenched-fist-by-chest, "Yes I swear, it's the truth, and I owe it all to you..."

His last syllable hasn't yet faded before Sparrow starts in, mirroring that overwrought emotion as she croons, "Cuz I! Had the time of my life! And I owe it all to yooo-ooo-oooou..."

The music kicks up, and he steps toward her, then back, throwing in the requested hip-swivels, 'cause hey, you don't let your valentine down. "I've been waitin' for so long, now I finally found someone to stand by me..." He's an okay singer, but it's all about the drama here, man. And, okay, maybe the hips. He's actually a little better as a dancer, moving in to threaten to maybe actually try some of the Dirty Dancing moves when they get to their jointly sung, "So we take each other's hand," and he reaches over to do so.

There will probably not be a leap, though.

Probably.

August grins slyly at Eleanor. "The kids call it all kinds of things," he murmurs around a sip of his beer. As Everett's song concludes, he says, "Some folks like to change it up for Valentine's. Maybe he did that for that all people dealing with breakups." He chases that with a small shrug. "I won't begrudge anyone a little grumpiness if it's been a rough romantic month, especially with how in your face the media is." And with how much money the shop does in plant gifts. There's also that too. How many miniroses had he sold in the last two weeks? More than he would the whole rest of the year, probably.

Grant flashes an easy smile sitting back and stealing one of someone's snacks. This is fucking beautiful and sappy and ridiculous and awesome and fantastic... and they left their plates unguarded. Life's good.

Eleanor chuckles and settles against August's side. She's tipsy due to her quick gulping of half her drink before singing. "It's a hallmark holiday, and I was one of the grumps until this year, so I get it."

Kip's attention flits to the newest arrival into the Pourhouse, tracking her movements to the corner table where the other person is sitting. Then Time of my life is being sung and, she kinda knows that one! Sort of? Kip finishes off her drink and straightens up some to get a better look at the stage and the duo singing the song.

"No, it wasn't a duet," Everett agrees with Kass, accepting the glass from her, then clicks glasses. A more moderate sip then the last slide and burn follow, while he watches the redhead with him. And just. Watches her, a smile starting to widen on the right side of his mouth before he double-takes and grins briefly at Kim, looks down at his boots and then up at Kass again. A look towards the stage again, and Everett murmurs aloud, "Uh oh, there's going to be some dirty dancing going on." He glances towards Kass with a wide smile before sliding his empty arm around her far shoulder and tugging her close.

Kim pauses in her walk and looks back to Alison with a wink "I didn't think it myself I was cursed to never find any sort of physical comfort before my Grace-kanojo...but ask her nicely and maybe something could happen." she giggles and puts her hands up to show she is joking. "Hey I've dated all sorts of women. Grunge. goth, and even a gutter punk at one point. So not giving a fuck is a plus in my books...Really? I can also pay for a Uber for you. Really most people in this town have no idea how much I make."

Finally back on target as she goes finishes going towards Everett and Kass. She extends her hand to the giant of the man "I am sorry. I didn't give you chance to explain your actions though I've heard it hurt Grace-kanojo and Hera. I'd really like to hear you reasons for doing so. Because I am not judging you fairly and I want to." before she realizes she is only speaking to Ev. She nods to Kass "Sorry...there are things I am trying to make amends for."

"Ack! Heeeeeeey... I don't dance." Kass tries to ward off that possibility with a laugh and shake of her head as she's tugged in closer, finally giving in and leaning back against him. Settled in comfortably, Kass smiles towards Kim before looking up at Everett, "Friend of yours? Cause I'm pretty sure I don't know her." Then Kim arrives and Kass is laughing once more at the apparent misunderstanding that's occurred between Kim and Ev. She grins at Kim and shakes her head, "No worries. He gets a lot of that." She nudges him lightly and murmurs to him, then slips out from under his arm to head towards Grant so Kim and Everett can clear the air without an 'interloper'. She smiles on the approach to Grant and offers up, "Hey! Long time no see. How's things?"

"I'm not hooked up already" Park points out to Alison before there are new people to bother! She makes a beeline for Nova and Rekani, handing out hugs and roses to the pair. "Hi, I'm Mee! You both look so awesome. Are you going to sing? You should totally sing." She looks over to the stage. "That's Sparrow and Rhys. I had no idea they hooked up but I am totally out of the loop for most gossip. Do you know everyone?"

Grant looks to Kass and the smile holds with a shrug, "Eeeeh dying lots. Trying not to be a ghost. Getting ready to celebrate the amazing holiday of February 15th: the feast of St. Mark Downs." He looks up to Rhys and Sparrow pointing with some amusement. "Trying to capture the inside of my head in the canvas. You know how it goes. What up with you? How's livin, girl?"

Sparrow probably shouldn't spill into giggles at the beginning of their performance, but she can't help it. As soon as Rhys starts dancing, her delight just bubbles up without warning, preceding a little swishing of her own hips in mimicry of half-remembered steps from a movie she hasn't seen in forever. It leaves her a little behind, missing her cue as she hurriedly catching up with, "We felt this magical fantasy," and picking up perfectly with the harmony. Her hand falls into his as she belts, "Cuz we seem to understand the urgency!"

The pair take their turns singing, "Just remember, you're the one thing, I can't get enough of. So, I'll tell you something," before leaning into each other and singing as one, "This could be love!" The audience gets their combined attention, in imperfect step, as they burst into the chorus with, "Because! I had the time of my life! No, I never felt this way before! I swear, it's the truuuuuth, and I owe it all to yooooou." Where Rhys leads, Sparrow follows, though there are, blessedly, no jumps from the stage or overhead lifts. There is, however, a whole lot of giddy hip-swiveling and poor approximations of dirty dancing which, at one point, sees her thigh hoisted up to his hip as she's inelegantly dipped, once more missing her cue to laughter when she comes back up. It's far from an impeccable performance, but it's clear they're having fun, right down to when they do Johnny's little shimmy-step as they're singing the song out to its end. By the end, the blonde's cheeks are red and her eyes are bright. The girl looks happy.

"Oh you know. Coping. Better living through pharmaceuticals, actually making my therapist visits. Still spilling my head out onto canvas and concrete and corrugated metal and paper..." Kass offers with a shrug, sipping from her bourbon before smiling again. "Making new friends, meeting old friends. Trying new things. Lost a LOT of memories. Trying to make new ones. Figuring out who and what I am. The usual."

Hank was waiting for the run and lift! But it does not happen. Maybe another time! "Wow that was great!" the big guy states. Then it is time for the last singers of the night, "Mister Grant. Come on up! You're our last singers. Thank you all for coming out tonight and rememebr to tip your waitress!" he gives a hoot and then jumps offstage.

He has time, with Kim's pause, to answer Kass first. "I don't really either," Everett murmurs down to the redhead who's falling into his cuddle. Tilting his head down, a thick strand of Everett's long hair slides over his shoulder while he rests his lips on the top of Kass' crown, lips tugging into a smile while she explains the very thing he would have said. "Mm," is his two cents. The nudge is his signal to lift his heavy arm to accommodate his armrest's escape, which he follows, visually. As pleasing leaving as arriving. And then he remembers he isn't alone. Turning his attention down to Kim, a pleased Everett nods, "Sure. I'll stop by one time on my way to the gym. We'll have it out then, ok?" he asks, before holding out his closed fist for the bump. Then Everett considers, "You know. If she," he nods his head in the direction Kass left, "won't duet with me, we'll have to do Island in the Stream sometime."

Bax loos a bit underslept so this Valentine's performance might contain diesel levels of mania. Taking the mic is Grant Baxter; Magenta haired skate punk half the town knows from drawing on their shit to the dispensary working Greg's shop. There's a smile that hits those brown eyes and he says, "I know I came here solo, but a- shout out to my best friend whom I would still be a ghost...again without, and also to pay tribute to what may be my one...true love."

What starts out as a possible love ballad that quickly takes a sharp turn queueing up M.C. Chris' "Fett's Vette" What's lesser known is how well G-Bax can pop and lock while laying down a phat beat at machine gun speeds. Hey, some people love being a damn Mandolorian, okay?

Nova had just been about to comment on how incredibly wrong she found Rekani's assessment, and the fact that he was getting drunk off Mojitos in public. She is distracted first by the level of 1980's romance unfolding before her eyes, and then the unexpected greeting. She gives a bell like laugh in surprise to the slender woman's energy. "Hey Mee! I wasn't going to but, I might take your advice to. I appreciate the inside knowledge, we are fresh out here, don't know anyone." She extends a tan hand from a rolled pink sleeve. "I'm Nova." She cocks her head toward the Mojito fiend. "Mi Hermano, Rekani."

When a girl lookin like Park walks in Rekani's direction, that boy scrambles to get his wing-sauced hands clean enough to return whatever hugs are offered, if awkwardly half-rising from his chair to do so.

"Sing? Aww, girl, I dunno." He starts in that slightly latin accent, "I feel like competition is a little too fire in here, tonight." He nods along with his sister's answer, appending the introduction as he retakes his seat, "Call me Rek."

<FS3> August rolls Spirit: Good Success (8 8 6 5 5 5 4 4 3 2 2) (Rolled by: August)

Alison smirks at Kim's other little offer, joking or not. "Hah." A shake of the head at the Uber offer. "Then I've gotta worry about my car being back here and.. nah, I'll just drive back. Thanks again, though." The redhead narrows her eyes a bit at Park. "No? It's hard to tell with you, sometimes. Let's talk later, that might be a.. longer chat."

Sparrow and Rhys's performance gets another round of clapping and cheering from Alison. And a bit of blushing as she's wont to do. Especially with a lurid little show like that. JEEZ.

"Yeah, kind of a shame, considering," August says, absently. He watches Sparrow and Rhys, amused by their duet. And then Grant is singing...that. August has no idea what this song is, other than weird. He sighs, gives Grant the kind of look he gives a lot of people: long-suffering.

The lift? Maybe next year. If they actually practice or something. This year Rhys is busily trying and not entirely succeeding not to start laughing when Sparrow does, and by the time there's an equally theatrical bow to match the general tone and he's returned the mic and gone to drop back into his seat and drain what remained of that drink, he looks pretty happy with the world as well. Sparrow gets an arm around the shoulders and a squeeze along the way back to the table, too, with a quiet murmur of, "Nice. Go us!"

"Now you can decide if it's worth the risk," he nonethless remarks to Kass as he settles in, giving her a grin, and watches Grant head up to sing. He clearly doesn't recognize the song as it begins, but the words register swiftly enough, and he laughs, looking entirely pleased by Bax's choice.

Ah that look is part of why Ellie loves August. It's so adorable. To anyone it isn't aimed directly at. "Why don't we get out of here, go for a walk, make out like teenagers?" she offers to him with a grin. Yep, tipsy.

"Nice to meet you, Nova. You are totally pretty." Park smiles to the woman before addressing Rekani. "Hey, Herman. Oh, you prefer Rek? Okay." Doesn't sound anything like Herman but he can call himself whatever he likes. Now to go through all the other people she knows the names of. There are no strangers in her world.

"That's Alison. " Park blows her a kiss. "Totally sexy and totally fun. Everyone should know how awesome Alison is. Kim, super cute Japanese woman who has a girlfriend called..." She looks for the woman in question before pointing her out, "Grace. Don't they look so cute together. Totally sharing the V.D. love. The big guy is Everett, he runs an ice cream parlor. The cutie he is with is Kass. She's had such a tough time but she is totally kicking it now. You should see her art. Amazeballs. That's Stephanie, who is Kim's friend and a great singer. Did you manage to catch her?" Back to the siblings. "Welcome to Gray Harbor!"

August shakes his head, grinning at tipsy Eleanor. "I'm willing to bet you your currency of choice that ten minutes into said walk you'll want to switch it to watch a monster movie and make out instead." He finishes his beer, pulls on his coat, hat, scarf and gloves. And he still has that rose tucked behind his ear. He holds out his hand to Eleanor. "Come on, hon. I have a bet to win."

Sparrow draws her chair a little closer so that she can sink in against Rhys' side all too comfortably once they're back to their table. She might not have any clue what risks are being evaluated, but that doesn't keep her from telling Kass that, "It's always worth it," anyway. When Bax begins his song, she busts right out laughing, already full of giddiness given the right opportunity to erupt. When she says, "He's ridiculous," it sounds like it might be the highest praise ever.

Stephanie finishes her second drink and she say she her farewells to her table and whoever else she was being introduced to.

“I have to get going, ladies,” Steph’s voice is playful and happy, “I have someone to meet.”

Those who know Steph know that she’s had a rough go of dating. Kim certainly knows this. So the fact that she’s leaving to go see someone is worth noting.

Kim chuckles finishing a lyric from the song "You think you can cook." she is toasted before shaking her head and turning back to Everett "No I can come by the gym. It's the least I can do and Grace-kanojo and I did some things...you know what you probably don't want to hear about that." she looks to the fist-bump and isn't her style "Ah yeah no. But I wouldn't crash your credit rating or anything. No even make a fake police report. Really I want to make things right. I have acted so poorly to you. And it is based off of assumptions. I'll go to the gym tomorrow and we can talk, okay?"

Looking back and giving a smirk to Alison "Give me your number and I'll text you later when I'm sober. But hey I can also afford to have your car brought back to you. Okay though...another time we can talk."

At least up until Park talks "Yeah Grace you know she accepted the offer for a three....ah I'm going to stop talking right now. Because it will just put my foot in my mouth again. I am sorry for the first time. Huh did you just say Everett does art?" maybe she misunderstood Park's words, but she looks back to Ev with curious eyes.

Does Grant Baxter look at the words? Naw he doesn't bother with that becuase he's prowling the stage like he's a lost member of the damn Beastie Boys. This grin does not get wider, friends!

I'm a devious degenerate defender of the devil
Shut down all the trash compactors on the detention level

My backpack's got jets
Well I'm Boba, the Fett
Well I bounty hunt for Jabba Hutt
To finance my 'Vette

Well I chill in deep space
A mask is over my face
Well I deliver the prize
But I still narrow my eyes
Cause my time I don't like to waste
Get down!

Yeah this is happening. Sorry not sorry, August. There is an end to it eventually. The man's made it 21 years without shame, why start now? He rolls the mic in his hand and hops down. He gives Rhys a high five and says to Sparrow with a grin, "I have to go walk a painting across town. I'll call you and catch up with you in a bit. if the phone rings and it's me put it to voicemail." Best gift ever there. Looking back to Kass he says, "Glad to see you upright. That's pretty neat." Ridiculous isn't the half of it but he does make his way back.

Eleanor grins and she gets her coat back on, linking her arm through August's, and tipsy wobbling her way beside him to go lose a bet.

Kass laughs at Rhys' comment as he and Sparrow return, her applause dying down as Grant takes the stage with Corey. She grins towards Sparrow and nods, then looks to Rhys. "I told you, man. That time has passed. The choice has been made, the Traveler comes. The real risk is in expecting quid pro quo." She flashes a grin towards Sparrow once more, "That was awesome, you guys rocked it." She turns that grin towards Grant and nods, "Thanks. You did amazing tonight! Hidden talents all over the place."

Nova does her best to follow everything Mee is saying, and keep a straight face at the misconception. Mee is decidedly adorable. Nova was more than likely to forget more than one of the introductions, but defiantly trying to retain the ones that looked less taken. "This town has a lot of attractive people, you are one of them chica." Nova winks, "Also thank you!" She elbows Rekani, exchanging a knowing look. "I missed Stephanie, I had a car paint job to finish up, Rek saw her though."

He opens his mouth and looks like he might have a lot to say, but after a tic of conversation, Everett closes his mouth and nods in agreement to the offer, putting his hand down. When he's glanced at again by the little Asian wall, Everett has nothing to offer but a knowing smile.

When the duet ends, Everett claps over his head. You know, so he can be seen applauding as if there's a danger that he might not. He was waiting for the lift, and to be sure, his adoration would have been by far more boisterous, had there been one. But if it took Baby and Johnny so long to get it right, what could we expect of Rhys and Sparrow. Maybe next year indeed.

Nope, gothic biker behemoths don't know what Dirty Dancing is.

The next song. The next song is weird, and has Everett's head canted, left eye squinted. Are these things even words?

That was... a lot of names and pointing. Rekani's eyes follow each one, and honestly, get a little glassy toward the end. As if needing to defend himself from the onslaught of information, his palms had been raised as well. Slowly, the question is posed, and he stays opened mouth for a second before he decides, instead, to lean toward Park, putting one elbow on ths table and propping his chin in it,

"I got lost at the redhead. Could you go back over it all a little slower? Maybe pop a shoulder or something," he accompanies the words with an overly theatrical pose-striking, head tossing like he had long hair to whip (which he didn't), which looks absolutely comical for a man his size to try to look sexy, "...to keep my attention. I'm a little distractable." He breaks into a wide grin after, at least trying to communicate he was making a joke by lifting his palms again to ward off any well-deserved retribution.

Rhys does not leave Bax hangin', that absolutely gets a high-five. "Did I mention nice meeting you? 'cause it is nice meeting you," he says cheerfully, leaving the other arm loosely around Sparrow's shoulders for the moment to encourage that sinking in, "...and good luck on your mission." Kass gets a nod and more solemnesque, "It's true, that is a risk. You should probably be prepared for such an eventuality. Just for safety's sake. 'cause it sounds like the kind of thing that Traveller might do."

Kim frowns at the knowing smile "Sorry about what I said about your dick." not offering any other explanation. She is just sorry. Kim is the great Asian wall after all. "Tomorrow we can talk and I sorry for interrupting your Valentine's date." she gives a bow of her head to Kass "Apologizes for interrupting anything."

She turns her head back to Stephanie "Go them girl! And hey if things don't work out look up Grace-kanojo and I." she is probably joking...is the drunk Japanese woman joking. Only one way to find out.

“Don’t worry about me, I’m pretty sure it’ll work out.” Steph says to Kim with drunken confidence.

Stephanie actually isn’t but the alcohol Kim is paying for seems to make her bold and brave. She glances at her phone and heads out, saying playfully, “Bye babes, do all the things you’ll regret now so you can forget about it tomorrow.”

And she leaves.

Sparrow clips a clumsy salute for Bax's instructions then uses that same hand to flag down service for a refill. Sure, the karaoke might be over, but she could use just one more drink before spilling out into the cold when being in here means comfortably cuddling up to her captain and enjoying good company. Her gaze flits between Rhys and Kass as they talk in riddles, happy to take it in without asking any questions.

Park blushes at Nova's praise. "Aww...thank you. You're so sweet." She looks to Rekani with some concern. "Which redhead? Alison or Kass? Sparrow is sometimes a redhead too but she's gone blonde. Dyed it." She points at her own white hair. "I dye my hair a lot too. Though sometimes I wonder why I go with white sometimes. Like, when I get old, I'll have white hair anyway. So why do I want to look old now? I might dye it something else tomorrow." A wave for Stephanie as she leaves before back to Rekani, nodding to his request with some sincere seriousness. Attempting to replicate his suggested pose as best as she can. Then she speaks slower. Much slower. "That. Redhead. Is. Alison. She. Is." A little sigh. "This would be totally quicker if we all just got together and met in person. But I don't want to interrupt your date."

Did Park hear Kim right? "Grace was good with that? Okay, we'll talk about it later. Alison wants to talk to me too." Back to Rekani and Nova. "So why do you call yourself 'Rek'? And Nova is such an awesome name. Like a bit explosion."

Kass levels a squint-eyed look at Rhys for a long moment before sighing and giving in with a nod. "That's fair. Alright. But don't say I didn't warn you. The Traveler may come to regret that request." She sips her bourbon and looks towards Sparrow, "I still have to hear your band play. I keep meaning to sit in on a practice or something but I keep forgetting to ask you guys about it. Also, I have a new painting you might like."

Kim shrugs her head towards to Everett. Perhaps they have come to understanding and maybe not. The next day will likely tell.

Kim shakes her head to Stephanie "Sorry I was joking...only a little bit because of the wonderfulness of who you are. Don't ever doubt it and if you want to send me risky selfies...who am I to judge" she giggles showing she is joking "Oh for sure I'll do so many things with Grace-kanojo. If I described them to you then you would blush off the planet."

Kim will not lie to friend as she looks up to the taller Korean American "She seemed to be...she offered many times. Maybe we could be a Triad?" not meaning in the criminal sense but the poly sense. "I just don't know and really...eh sorry Mee." she doesn't explain anymore.

"You still get to hear my band plan a proper gig of your choice," Sparrow points out to Kass, with some actual pointing, index finger extended from her refilled drink as she gestures. "If you don't have a party in mind, we should make one up. And we should definitely do some art. Bax's been painting up in my room for a couple of days now. Getting all the itches out." With a crinkle of her nose, she admits, "My last was a bit brutal. Dunno what's gonna come out next. Feels like it's gonna be bleak for a bit."

The smile flashes wider on the right side of his mouth as Everett looks down at Kim again. A soft shake of his head and he shrugs his shoulder, "That's ok. He's heard worse; he's got some pretty tough skin." Did he make a masturbation joke? The tongue poke to the inside of Everett's cheek seems to suggest he did. But then the last time he joked about his equipment to Kim, she missed it then too. To the appointment tomorrow, Everett simply nods, covering his mouth with a finger, then slips his hand to pick up the drink he was bought and takes a sip from it. Once alone again, he takes his drink over to follow Kass, just in time to hear something neat.

"Who's regretting coming?", the basso voice asks Kass, before turning his attention to Sparrow, "Hey. Didn't you use to be a redhead too? What happened," he asks with genuine interest.

Nova side eyes Rekani before actually giving a snort. The girl had simultaneously showed him straight up and made a logic leap that was just...well...entertaining. She rises from her stool gracefully, giving a little twirl in the motion. "Our parents probably named him that because they knew he would be one." The tinkling laugh returns. "He's my brother, so I get to make rude comments to his face."

This was almost as interesting as the almost panic she could tangibly feel off of Kim. "We can move over towards your friends easy, but that small one with glasses looks like she's debating you as take-out."

"I know. But.. like.. what am I going to do? Book you guys to play live at Platinum? I don't run anything or really go anywhere unless people drag me along. Every time I go out... almost every time. Bad things happen and I'm just.. getting tired of it." Kass responds to Sparrow with a shrug and a bit of a resigned expression. She gives a small nod and sighs, "Yeah, that's where mine has been at. I had to force myself to remember something good just to... to break up the string of UGH that's been happening lately." Glancing up at Everett as he joins, she smiles up at him, "Inside joke." Then she thwaps him lightly, "Dude. You never ask a woman about her hair color. Its like asking about her age or weight. Its rude." She winks towards Sparrow with a faint smile.

Rhys is a redhead even now but has unwisely made the rookie mistake of not being female, so never makes the lists. Life's tough, man. Which he doesn't actually seem to notice at the moment, especially when he ends up with a refilled drink as well. Hooray!

He laughs suddenly when Sparrow notes Kass is owed a gig. "You outbid me," he says, grinning at her with an accusing pointed finger. "You're going to have to invite me now to make up for rudely doing that like it's exactly how auctions are supposed to work. Tch." A shake of the head, and a sidelong look toward Sparrow and her mention of likely bleakness. "I'd like to see all the paintings." The mention of all the bad things has his head tilting again, brow furrowed, but there's a sudden Everett. "No one here," he answers, bright again. "Nice work up there tonight."

Rekani briefly trades that glance with his sister, his manner much more animated to her subtlety, even leaning toward her as his shocked face explodes into hysterical entertainment. He is absolutely dying laughing. It's a good laugh, slightly high-pitched, throaty, the infectious kind. One arm is crossing his chest, and the other his stomach as he tips his chair back slightly with just how funny that was. He points at Nova when he can manage breath, his voice still a raspy cackle, "She thought we were on a date!" He issues another peal of laughter.

When slowly, finally, he can get breath under control, one hand set to the table, the other shaking a finger at Park, "Jesus, girl. You're funny. You're gonna kill me." He illuatrates by tapping a fist to his chest. He then raises a hand again, "Please, no more. I caught 'em all. Totally joking. Hermano means brother. Rekani is actually my name. Us Miami kids sometimes switch up without thinking for family."

Sparrow turns a bright smile up toward Everett at his question, eyes going wide. "Color got spooked right out," she lies. "Way too many ghosts floating about this February." Which might have some truth to it given how she frowns toward Kass, far too keenly aware of how very much ugh this winter's dragged along. "All the more reason to make your own good. Fuck the bad stuff." She lifts her glass and promises, "We'll figure something out." After a swig, she looks back to Everett and tells him, "Twenty-one. And one twenty... something," with a wink. Nevermind that he hadn't asked.

<FS3> Kim rolls Composure: Good Success (7 7 7 6 5 4 2) (Rolled by: Portal)

Kim looks deeply at Everett. "I didn't really mean how small your dick was. Seriously even if it was the biggest ever I'd throw up. I want a chance to know you. Without other options. You meant something to Grace-Kanojo...so maybe just maybe you aren't tprmenting my friend because you feel like it. Maybe you have a purpose, because maybe you shine like I do." she says plainly. "I am sorry that Grace-kanojo choose me over you. I didn't know at the time and I hope you can forgive me. She is the light of my life and the woman I will spend the rest of my life if I can,"

"Oh, you're siblings? Cool. I don't feel so bad about interrupting then...unless you're Game of Thrones fans. Then you could still be on a date." Having managed to talk herself into a furrowed brow, Park shrugs it off just as quick and her bright smile is back. A blushing giggle about Kim. "She has a girlfriend, Silly. And she wants to stay true and pure to her. Gosh, all we did is kiss a bit." She listens intently to Rekani at the name explanations. "What happens if Nova has two brothers? Is it Herman One and Herman Two? And I don't want to kill you. Promise. C'mon, let's hang with my friends."

They're not too far away since Park has been conversing with the siblings and Kim. "Hey, everyone, please meet Nova and Rek. This is...oh...I introduced them all already." She gives Alison a tight hug from behind. "You okay? You should sing. We could do a duet if you like? 'Leather and Lace'? Nova and Rek will probably sing too."

It doesn't hurt, but Everett 'Ow's softly anyways when he gets the smack he so richly deserves as he leans near Kass, though he smiles after. "I hope we can add enough things to your 'Good Things' bank, so you have fewer reasons not to go out." He turns his head to murmur under his breath, "as much as you at home isn't bad either," trying to cover the addition with the drink poised in his hand, ready to take a sip, his green eyes glancing sideways.

He counts two things off on his empty, massive hand, presumably the two he was just told, before he nods upwards in acknowledgment to Rhys, "I'll be ok until they run out of sad songs. But you too. The duet was great. Duuueetts," Kass is giving a sideways glance, "are good too."

Everett has the desenty to believe the lie, wide-eyed and nodding softly, "I'm so sorry. My deepest folical condolances." The additional information is noted as he adds, "I think that's everything I need to start the file, thanks." He gives look to Kass; I didn't ask! And slowly sips his bourbon again.

Alison blinks a little at the sudden hug from behind! She almost spills the remnants of her drink. "Hi! Yeah, I'm fine. Just had a bit of a mood crash, I guess. Something Kim said's got me thinking." She turns and gives Park a hug. "See you later." Ali grabs her coat from the door and pushes her way out into the cold night sky. No goodbyes towards anyone else - in a bit of a hurry, possibly.

Looking back to Rhys, she just shrugs helplessly and grins sheepishly. "I was outbid on the lapdance so I had to put my money somewhere else. Jaime kept telling me about his band and how he'd let me listen in sometime. I figured that would be a good way to hear them play AND get money to charity." Kass nods to Sparrow and smiles broadly, "I'm really looking forward to it. The band that is. Also the end of all this.." She flicks a glance between Rhys and Everett then looks back to Sparrow and murmurs, "We can talk about it later. Its not a great subject for right now." Then she's looking at Everett and narrowing her eyes up at him. He may feel a sharp flick on his ear. Maybe. Her hands never move, however. "Fine. You want a duet? Rihanna and Eminem. Love The Way You Lie." She sticks her tongue out at him and turns back to the other two. "I really don't know why people are so interested in getting me up on a stage. I really shouldn't be in spotlights."

"It'll find another color," Sparrow promises Everett, as if these things just happened, wholly beyond her control. Should she look worried at the prospect of some file being started? She doesn't. Instead, she croons a, "Thank you," to the big guy and tells him, "You're always amazing. Really loved you at the last amateur night." But she's not getting involved in the talk about duets when Kass picks one so pointed. She does, however, agree, "Definitely down for talking later. Over drinks. Or waffles. Or both." On that note, she presses a kiss to Rhys' shoulder, smiling to herself.

"One brother is more than enough," Nova jokes following Park. The comment about the kissing is void of reaction, simply wasn't her business who kissed who so long as they weren't married and trying to kiss her. Once of that was...enough. She watches Alison's sudden departure with a flicker of confusion. This place reminded her of one of her mother's telenovela's, everyone was so bonita and dramatic.

The vibe was weird coming from a few people, other than the Rhys guy. "I'm going to grab a drink..." Maybe alcohol would make this a bit less weird. Nova heads to the bar for a spiced Margarita.

<FS3> Rekani rolls Leadership: Success (6 5 2 2 1 1) (Rolled by: Portal)

"Oh, sure, sure. I'm pretty sure you were just secretly out to get me. With your... secret mind-reading knowledge of what I was bidding on... before we actually ran into each other again. You're just that crafty." Rhys manages 'suspicious' long enough to get that out and take a drink before the grin sneaks out again. Ev gets a, "Thanks," for the compliment, and while there's curiosity for the 'talk about it later' and possibly the choice of potential duet as well, what he actually says is, "Man, even I would not have written that 'window pane' line." The kiss to his shoulder, or possibly what Sparrow said, makes him smile as well as he takes another sip.

And it's true. He's one of the most normal people in the room. Drinking might not be a terrible idea.

"I'm enough for like 1.5, two brothers, tops." Rekani jokes, tapping his own stomach, self-deprecating good-naturedly. He trades another look with Nova at the Herman logic comment, dead-serious as he states, "You know what, I'm not even gonna correct her, 'cause that's funny shit."

Park's dedication to getting people to sing, regardless of the pause and stopping of songs, has Rekani finally pushing himself up from his chair, only briefly stopping to state to the little Korean, "Girl, you're just precious." as he heads for the stage. Yes, Karaoke should have been shut down, and Hank was probably trying to shut stuff off and go get drunk, but let's just face it. Rekani is a god-damn delight. He manages to talk his way into letting things be left alone, able to power the stuff back online, because when you DJ all over, you've MC'ed a Karaoke night or two.

As he gets up on stage, he points out to Park, speaking into the microphone, "Mee over there said the show should go on, so here..." the first chord of an acoustic guitar strums out of the system, and his words accompany the next two on perfect syncopated rhythm, "We..." strum "Go..." strum

He launches into a stunningly overdone rendition of Despacito. You're welcome.

Turning around from the conversation, conversations, he's having, Everett glances to Kim. He has a judgement call to make. Just how drunk does this woman look. "Hey, uh. I'm very happy for you and Grace. We'll talk about my tiny, retch inducing penis tomorrow, huh?" Then he looks around. Maybe someone looks like they're missing a friend, someone he can point Kim to. Deflect, shields up. Pirates off the starboard! "Hey, is she waving at you?" the gorilla asks, flicking his ear, then pointing Park out to Kim.

Shifting back to the table conversation he tries to catch up, and nods to Kass, his smile returning to her, "Ok. You don't mind if we schedule in some practice time?" He leans down and over to murmur something additional meant only for her, accenting it with a sip from his drink, nursing what little remains. "But nonsense, I'll support you in whatever endeavors you want to do. And being silly is just one of the good ones."

Moving his attention to Sparrow, his smile softens and he nods softly, "Oh. Thank you. I won that event. Didn't hurt that I was the only male contestant. And I got some free advise after the show from someone who I think might have been a pro. Apparently I need to but a thong," he explains to Kass, "So I can take more off, I guess?" Wide-eyed, he shrugs a large shoulder. Back to Sparrow, he adds, "But you did very well too, both times."

"Definitely waffles. Waffles make everything better. Or at least bearable." Kass nods her agreement to Sparrow's suggestion, flicking a brief glance between Rhys and Everett again. She looks back to Sparrow and smiles, "You look hot no matter what color it is, it'll be fun to see what color it finds next." Taking a drink, she looks to Rhys and nods, "Yeah, it was pretty bad. But for some reason I really like it? I don't know. Its weird. I'm weird. Don't judge me." Then she's looking back to Everett and his words have her staring. Staring for a long moment before shaking her head, "I don't know that the world is ready for you in a banana hammock, Ev. Maybe boxer briefs." Kass was totally there, working the floor, all airbrushed up in some fantastical arrangement or another, serving drinks and carrying empties and fallen soldiers away.

Kim snorts towards Everett "So maybe you wouldn't accept my apology, it is there anyway. I have friends so much more intimating then you." she looks up to what she thinks is a huge figure. "Tomorrow at the gym we will make things right, if you hate me than that is okay as well." she blinks over to Alison "What did I say, that I wish you and Mee-chan could be my waifus?" others will not know this but Kim only uses honorifics for people she truly cares about.

Kim looks very drunk but seriously when she address Everett. "Seriously I didn't want you hurting Hera. Your...peepee big or small will male me sick." did Kim just call a penis a peepee yeah she did. Kim blushes as Ev notices somthing. Kim grins towards Park. saying nothing beyond what she said at the beginning of the evening. Asian versus Asian and Kim in her current mind set can't resist the call. Though she looks back the giant "Maybe you aren't as bad as others have lead me to believe."
]

"Damn shame," Sparrow laments of the absence of male performers at the Cabaret's amateur night. "Not that you aren't plenty of man all on your own. Or that I don't appreciate all the titties. But." She could go for a little equal representation up on the pole. Her dark lashes dip low as her smile goes wide as she looks to Kass. "Thank you." The nod might be belatedly in reference to their agreement on waffles. She does not, however, agree on the underwear advice, instead telling Everett, "You can let your ass hang out as much as you'd like." Blink. "Or your peepee. I mean. If it's not against the club rules."

"Oh...bye, Alison" Park waves sadly to her friend before a giggle for Rekani's size comment. "That just means you have big lungs for singing." Or is that large breasts? He's going to sing! Park is all about the cheering and whooping at this. "Go, Rek!!" Her brow furrows once more - that doesn't sound right. But then he's singing and she gets up to dance.

"Nova! Want to dance with me?" And there's a Kim coming back too. "Hey, Kim! Where did Grace go? You should be with her and being all smoochy." She hugs her fellow Asian upon her return. "What do you think of Nova" she attempts to whisper. "Soooo cute. And that's her brother on stage. What a voice!"

"I'm not judging you. I'm judging Eminem. Serious, he gets paid the big bucks, his wordplay game ought to be reliably outstripping mine here," Rhys says, "...and speaking of stripping, wow." He glances at Everett a moment. "Nicole did mention you twerking to Candy Shop," he says, as if recovering a perhaps buried memory, "so you're making an impression, at least." He does not back up the thong endorsement, however. That's all Sparrow, who gets asked, "Why am I the only person missing out on this?" by which he probably doesn't mean Everett's terpsichorial prowess, but you never know.

One thing they're not missing out on is Rekani's performance, though, and he watches that, grinning again and lounging comfortably in his chair, most of the way through that second drink. He isn't actually carrying a lighter, but he does pull out his phone and make it do a fake-lighter-app so he can lift it up in appreciation of the performance. Even with only the thought of waffles, so far it's a pretty good night.

Kim flexes her non-muscles. "I know Ev is afraid of the great asian wall. He should be because I can do...eh nothing to him. But fear...fear"

Waffles.
It had to be waffles.

Everett makes a grimace at Kass' acceptance, returning one of her tennis court back-and-forths looks between him and Rhys, to sideways leer. To that, there is no other comment, but he nods, in agreement with Sparrow's allurement, "Very fetching; I only really noticed it because," and he falls silent as he points to Kass, Rhys, both currently redheads, then Sparrow, who should have been, and then himself, "odd man out." Kass is afforded a winsome smile at her weirdness, "Oh, honey. If there's going to be a contest for weird, you'd have to join the queue. Ok," he's more animated, "if not a banana hammock, what about a half-thong?" he asks, eyes wide with delight at what her reaction might be and if she has to google it.

Kim's given a worried glance, as Everett's unsure if she'll even remember the appointment. Or where she'll wake up. But as of yet, it's not his problem, letting her rant, mostly, at him.

Instead his attention remains, by and large with his current company as he shrugs, "Thank you. I mean, I don't want to see that, and it was an easy five hundred for me. I wouldn't have even been up there either time if I hadn't been dared." His green eyes roll skyward for a second, "Well. Peepee isn't a no-no, I don't think." We're doubling words now. "There was a cop there that time, maybe you saw her. It was the cop's spouse that approached me with the advice." Rhys is given a nod, and a point, "That would be the first time. And how I was given the name Candyman." Everett sounds less than pleased. "An impression like Killer Clowns give an impression."

"You asking for a lap dance, captain?" Sparrow croons to Rhys. "Or offering me a show?" Her black brows rise a little higher at the second suggestion, like she might be laying down a challenge. She, too, cheers for the latest performer, a new face around town, even setting her drink down to applaud. "That was weird, right?" comes as she brings her hands back down to settle her attention on Everett. "Not that there was a cop there, cuz trust me, she wasn't the only one, but that she was, like. Trying to flex some authority like it's not a privately owned and operated business? I dunno. Way weird." Beat. "But a good night." That has her looking toward the bar... then around the rest of the room. Whoever she's looking for, she's not having any luck.

"Don't make that face at me Everett. You aren't coming for the waffles talk. That's a me and Sparrow thing. If I were going to talk about it in front of you I would talk about it right here. But I'm not. So waffles aren't your problem," Kass sticks her tongue out at him and looks back to the group with a nod. "It was super weird. Antonio keeps that club clean and orderly, I'm not even sure what she was really after... but it was kinda odd for her to come in dick-swinging like that." Looking back to Rhys, she grins, "Cause its happening at Platinum and you don't go there." Then she's looking back to Everett, she blinks, "That's even worse than the thong! That's not even a FULL thong!! I..." She sighs and shakes her head, "You need to do some SERIOUS manscaping if you're going to rock either of those looks."

"Well, I don't seem to have one," Rhys replies to Sparrow's crooning, brows lifting in return. Possibly dangerous. Then again, as established, Danger is now both their middle names. "I don't not go to Platinum," he protests, though if he did maybe he wouldn't have that first complaint for Sparrow, "I just don't generally end up there. And hey, some people like the furry look. Rugged and macho, you know. Mayyyybe not so much in a half-thong." A small handwobble there, before the hand picks his glass back up. "...so not 'cause you make the world taste good, huh?" he asks Everett, attention expanding to all three, "What was the cop trying to pull?"

"Yes, Kim, you would kick anyone's ass. I think we should get you home before you destroy the place" Park smiles sweetly to her friend. "To the MeeMobile!" A quick stop off at the Sparrow table for hugs and farewells before she hands Rekani a piece of paper with her number on it - old school. "Call me, maybe? And your sister too?" Pulling on her big ski-jacket she grabs Kim's hand to head off.

Offering the last trickle of his bourbon to Kass, he reaches inside his leather jacket. Really, he wants his hands free, but she's welcome to it. With his smartphone in hand, he sends off a fast text before returning the device inside his leather biker's jacket, carrying on a conversation and not applauding, but glancing upwards to the crooner after his text is over. "I dunno," Everett offers Sparrow with a shrug, "Maybe she was looking for a cut. Or looking for potential dates. Cops do some pretty shady shit sometimes." He glances briefly at Rhys.

The denial of waffles looks like it might be the most cutting thing Kass could have done to him. If he were an actor, a good one, who doesn't grab his chest, make a sour face, and 'ooh', 'aah', stomp foot, stomp foot. And his recovery is instantaneous, "Alright, fine. Rhys and I'll go out to the nearest sports bar and eat finger food and drink beer and talk about…" sideways glance, "uh. Cars. And uh. Sports. Yeah!" That's the second time she's given him tongue, and why she deserves his sass, as well as a return pink to slip from between his lips. Welcome to the revolution, Rhys. You've been conscripted. "Well, I make something taste good, but not the whole world. I'm not an overachiever." As for manscaping, he looks wounded and gasps, "Uh! Fine! When you're finished with your ladies night out," he indicates Sparrow and Kass, "Buy a razor on your way back." He grins at her like the cat that ate the canary.

(TXT to Grace) Everett : hey come get your drunk gf 😉

Kim huffs at Everett "You know what maybe you don't deserve my mercy. Maybe you are in front of a girl who wrote the software for Washington PD. Maybe she left back doors for herself and laugh at that if you can. If you ever hurt Grace-kanojo again even my threatens with Hera will mean nothing." Yeah Kim is nice and drunk. Grace may not answer but Park is willing to take the drunk home. Her last thing is pointing her eyes in I see you towards Ev...she is too drunk to care about a apology today. Tomorrow could be a different story.

Sparrow's gaze dips along Rhys' form like she might be up for taking that challenge to inappropriate lengths. Luckily, Park's parting hugs preempt any action, distracting from Danger Thoughts, leaving it at a simple, "Something to add to the itinerary," instead. Of the cop, she poses, "I think she was just enjoying the titties and feeling guilty about it. Some fucked up upbringing that told her she shouldn't like what she likes or something like that." She snorts a laugh at the prospect of Rhys and Everett falling into that sort of stereotypicial guys night while she and Kass are talking over waffles, surely about boys and make-up and all of those things. She assures the redhead quietly, "I should have time next week," though it's left nebulous, uncertain, like that gloom looming over Gray Harbor might somehow get in the way. Angling a look toward her Valentine, she asks, "Ready to get outta here?" Then thinks to check her phone. Just in case Grant did leave a random voicemail already.

Nodding towards Sparrow, Kass smiles, "I'll try to check in with you in a few days, see where you're at. I'm sure we can make it happen sooner or later." The interruption of Kim and Park's leavetaking has her lifting a brow towards Kim and watching the woman leaving before she looks up at Everett, "You really do excel at pissing people off, huh. C'mon you, lets get you out of here before you manage to turn a perfectly normal 'good-bye' into an international event." She looks to Rhys and lifts a brow, "Uh huh. I've worked there since I got back to town. Funny, I have yet to see you in there. Pretty sure that means you don't go there." Winking at him, she chuckles, "Furry is fine, but not for a half thong." Then she's hooking an arm through Everett's and tugging at him, "I guess we're gonna buy you a razor now since you seem to be set on the half-thong."

"True," Rhys agrees about the sometime-shadiness of cops, and suggests to Everett, "We could just go to Platinum instead. They've got snacks and beer. Kill two birds with one stone. Very efficient. If you're into avicide." So there, Kass! So there. No sticking out of tongues on his part, though. Not right now. Sparrow's theory on the cop gets a thoughtful nod, and at her question, he glances sidelong toward Everett of the theoretical half-thong and then back to her, with a very decided, "Yup. I am entirely ready to head out. And I think that makes it unanimous. Moved and seconded, motion passed." He bangs an imaginary gavel on the table, then picks up his glass to drain what remains in it before he stands, offering Sparrow a hand and the other two a grin. "Have a good rest of the night. Catch you soon."

Last time Park was denied a hug from the sulking giant. Somehow, his mood is better and she gets what she's after and when she takes Kim's hand to leave, but there's a whole. Diatribe. With words, words with double meanings. The wee woman pointing her fingers at him. The thug looks confused while he smacks his lips softly and leans over to Kass, offering, "I think I was threatened?" he says, rather unsure. His head shakes, tries to say something and then scoffs, before trying again, "Everybody else heard her talking about her back door, right? I'm not just crazy and hearing things?" But time to ham it up a little, for Kass' sake of course. His brows arch, his thin lips pout, "I'm scared. Hold me."

About Jane the Cop, Everett ponders, "I'm not so sure. She was married to a woman. Someone that wore her ring. That's a pretty serious commitment. Maybe more guilty about wanting to peep? Maybe ... aww, who knows. We could probably armchair detective it all night and not get it right."
To her Valentine, Everett nods, "It's a date; I think I've been there all but once when I wasn't there to strip and even then it was to see a girl." Pause, "Ok, I see what I did there. Not that kind of seeing. But you shouldn't be into avicide," Everett accuses of Rhys, and points to his date. Sparrow.

At Kass' more astute assessment, Everett grins oh-so broadly, "Yo-, I-." He tries to start the reply a couple of times, then takes a breath, "You remember our dinner? It's maybe my gift." he replies with good humor. "You mention a half-thong one time," Everett says with a soft whine quality, even as he follows Kass's direction, turning over his shoulder to wave good-bye at the other two, smiling widely down at the redhead attached to his arm in a way found most pleasing, "Can we stop off at an embassy or two first? I wanna tell those Bolvarians a thing or two." And as they get a few steps away, Everett adds as an afterthought, "Also, I'm glad we weren't playing a drinking game about taking a shot at the mention of my crotch. I'd be so hammered right now."
