For what its worth, Jack comes over to her place. Brought with him are some bags of foot to go. Chinese, probably her favorite and his favorite. Could be the same, he likes the little red chilis in some of the spicy chinese, he might pick some out, but he likes a couple in there. That and beef, and brocooli if they have it. Crab Rangoon with that apricot/sweet n sour sauce, depending what the locals make. He doesn't look for any chain as usual, whatever family in town might have some, or in the next nearest even, just for some Chinese. Maybe she worked late two and its a surprise or something. There he is, setting it on the table, saying non specifically to Andi, "He's sure its the recent flooding, which could make sense, but I changed out the plugs last year. Should take a little more than flooding to kill the juice." A shrug, he opens bags to lay out their food even, "I replaced it, fired it up, but its like he was a little hard to wear them out like that with the flooding and all." Just offering up one of his recent 'cases' of mechanical investigattion, aka, repairing someone's car.

Andi certainly had worked late. There was a homicide in Bayside and with no leads, she'd combed over the phone records from both husband and wife. Still, nothing pointed to the husband, which was the most obvious place to check first. "It's like the whole city turns upside down when an Addison dies." There's a grumble as she settles in at the island, where Jack is setting up the food. He'd gotten her favorites! General TSO, much like the Sweet Chile Thai, with those red peppers they both liked. It's chicken. And the beef and broccoli with the onions and peppers. Of course she would start by taking a pepper from the beef and broccoli and eat it with a piece of her TSO chicken, and alternate doing that with the onions without ever touching the beef for now. Turns out she orders it just for the peppers and onions for her chicken. And the egg rolls. And a rangoon of course. "Sounds like you've been working really hard. Glad you got it figured out." A smile is offered to him as she gets up to get them both some sweet tea for now. "Thank you for this. I'm starving. Guess I can't remember the last time I ate."

He gets his news out of the paper, not the sort to ask, pry, or gossip even. So the Death of an Addison has him looking up, just one raised brow. A silent request to make sure its not the one that came to his shop not long ago. IF he knows she won't eat the beef, he'll prorbably take some onto his plate, as its more saucy and her's does have the pepper, giving it a little extra good flavor. Gladly taking the sweet tea she has. "Busy enough, can't complain either way, keeps the shop open. He's a regular." And certianly not comparable to her busy with the police department. He'd take working on an engine any day. "Yeah, can't remember, can't have you getting all skinny now." Which he probably means too. She's good as is, no bones prodding him thanks. "I'll text you about lunch this week, just let me know where, I'll get something there." And shift his schedule to work a little later as needed, the ease of owning the shop.

There's a gentle shake of her head at the inquiring look. Same apartments, different Addison. Gladly giving the beef over for now, not for lack of liking it, but for the hunger for chicken this time. "I'm glad you're able to stay busy there, as busy as you want to be anyway." Kind of liking that he owned his own business and called his own hours. "Wouldn't hurt for me to lose a few pounds," she pats her stomach then smiles, probably not serious. "Lunch though? Count me in, we can have it either in or out. Waffle Shoppe is great, breakfast twenty-four-seven. Pecan waffles and all too." Or banana, or strawberry with whipped cream. Any number of things. "I'll make sure to take some time off and we could go there if you'd like?"

She might be teasing about a few extra pounds, Jack swallows some beef and broccoli and shakes his head, "Too much more and I might break you." Not really, she's a cop, she's pretty damn tough, but he likes that. Not gonna lie about it at all. "I'll send a message before I leave for lunch, we play it by ear, just want to make sure you're eating." COmpletely honest, nothing really to do with weight or not, just staying healthy. "Save some time off, maybe we need a little trip out of town for a day or two?" Not camping, a hotel/motel somewhere not far from town, or further, just not camping for him so much. "We could both take a little time for us. Change of pace at least." Not that the pace is crazy in town, in fact getting away could be Seattle and doing more than usual, not that he suggested that but getting away is open and she could counter with ideas.

"Oh but what a way to go," Andi blatantly flirts back with him, liking the way he was fine with her body, in fact favored it. "I can take a lunch, I've been working through meal times so I've got plenty of time." His suggestion of time off though does have her pausing in her meal to consider. "Time off for a trip?" The words sound wistful even to her. "You tell me when, Jack, and I'll put in for it right away. I would like nothing more. I'm ready to get away with you, away from all of the worries and unsolved cases and concentrate on just us."

"I'll take your challenge," he says as she flirts back, "See if you can't break the rider tonight." Seems he's got his mind set on things to do when the food is done even. "See, I'll text then, you let me know the details on lunch." A reminder even, but a few lunches together are in the works most likely in his mind at least, to get going on this lunch stuff. "A week or two from now, take a few days on both sides of a weekend, we'll go do us time." A pause, he leans back a little while eating, "In fact, let me figure out the details, surprise you or something." Not like him, but this new them is something he's working on, probalby had lots of time to reflect on how things were before.

Andi looks at him from beneath her lashes, almost in a coquettish fashion as she considers his challenge back. "We'll have to do that." A few more bites, it doesn't take her long to finish her food, she follows with some sweet tea then slides things aside to concentrate solely on the conversation. She reaches for his free hand and laces her fingers with his, just for the connection. "A few days on each side of a weekend and we get a full week away. Oh Jack, that sounds like a luxury. I'd even leave my cell phone at home. There's so many things I have to tell you about my family that I found out. Though we may want to do that before our break, so it's just us then."

Eyes get him most times, she probably knows that, so the coy look from behind lashes that is flirty is indeed for him. A brow lifts, as suggestive of he'll show just what he means and she's agreeing to doing that. The game afoot, no need to rush to the conclusion either. Its planted, they can anticipate as long as they like now, but that game is on for him. His hand gladly joins with hers, his eyes turn down to regard her fingers, a thumb brushing her knuckles and hand in return. "A luxury we can afford," or he could for them, "No cell phones. And you tell me what all you found out about your family. We take care of that in the first day or two, then unjoy us some us. We'll have time for us and family. More time to get to know each other again baby. I'll come up with some ideas of things to do, but save you a couple days if you like." Once she knows where they've gone and to plan things she might like the same.

That brow lift though.. Andi knows what it is for what it is and since he rarely shows much emotion she takes it as a welcome reaction. Her eyes also drop to his hand and hers where they are linked. Lifting her eyes to his, there's a tender look in hers and she gets to her feet to walk around to him and stand in front of him only to lean in and brush her lips over his before sliding down to sit on his lap. His plans were all agreed to, and since it's only his lunch she fully only intends some kissing while they had the time. "I'd love to enjoy us some us. The vacation can't come soon enough for me." Gently bumping her forehead to his she smiles. "And I'd love a surprise from you just as much as I'd love a few days to plan time with you while we're there also."

His eyes stay on the table a moment as she gets up, but turn to meet hers when she's standing in front of him. Naturally his hands find her hips and rear when she settles onto him and he doesn't hold back, he give her all his lap when she brushes his lip, sucking at her bottom one briefly as he listens, or distracts but she started it to be far. "You got the mindset for it woman," he concurs with her looking forward to hit. Looking up as she bumps foreheads, he might bump a little more intimately with her right there, his hands helping even. "There you have it, a few surprises, we'll figure out the rest. Figure out some of us too." Not just enjoy it, but out of the city, they can have even clearer minds about it. "You know, doll, I can't say no to you, no matter how much I might try. Got you right where I want you though." A hint of a smile, his turn to lift his chin to brush lips over hers this time.

So drawn to his lips when they are hinting at that smile everything he had just said flies in then back out of her head. Talk about distracting! Kissing that corner of his lips that had curved upwards, she gently gives a tug to his beard, forehead still pressed to his. "As long as where you want me is right where I am, I don't think you'll be getting any arguments from me." She dips her fingers around the back of his neck and brings him in for a deeper kiss, mindful of it just being his lunch she doesn't get get too terribly seductive. Her own smile follows. "You taste like broccoli beef. I have a new appreciation for it." A touch of her nose to his before she turns it into an embrace, hugging him tightly. "I can't wait to talk with you about things that have been happening." Suddenly just seeking to be held as she remains there in his lap.
