<FS3> Minerva rolls Mental: Great Success (8 8 7 6 6 5 5 4 3 1 1)
You want to deal with the creepy cases that involve children? This is what you get to do as a Doctor. Go to the scene of where the patient was and see how things are. The good Doctor Kosimar knows Amelia's story of what happened is vague, she barely remembers anything except for what happened when she came out of the dark. So Irvriya is going in to see what she can scrounge up as far as evidence and things for a case so Amelia doesn't get taken from her parents. She's supposed to be meeting a fellow specialist as well.
The morning is beautiful, the walk here had been a pleasant one given the lack of others, except for the car belonging to Anna Mayhew. A case worker with the local Child Protection Services. The birds were singing in the trees and there were a few stray clouds. The warmth seems to be sucked right out of the day when Minerva steps onto the pathway up to the house. It causes the woman to stop and to look at what's in front of her. There is a breath taken, steadying herself on the path as she approaches. She couldn't get scared now.
It seems like it takes an hour to get to the front door. It's shut tight and still has scraps of police tape dangling over it like some obscure Halloween decoration. She reaches for the doorknob cautiously and turns it. She finds it unlocked like she knew she would. "Mrs Mayhew?" she calls as she steps inside the house.
Silence answers for the moment. That is until Minerva focus', opening up her senses to things as she reaches out a hand to touch the wall. There's so many voices here. So many things that need or want to talk. A number of them are simply spirits that have been trapped here. Others are the things that trapped them here. It's a vicious cycle. A very violent one.
"Anna? We shouldn't wander this place alone." Minerva calls. The light streaming through the windows gave her some comfort, but that was until she moved to the next room. The large hole in the floor was not noted by anyone previously so it gets jotted down real quick. It's not until a shadow moves down below that she feels unsafe. "Hello?" she calls down. "Anna? You didn't fall down there did you?" she peers into the blackness.
"Doctor Kosimar?" comes the voice from behind her. Anna's familiar voice makes her let out a breath, relieved that she'd not fallen down and was hurt. Then she turns to look at her, "Anna, did you get your pictures?" she asks her. She moves just as the skeletal fingers reach up from the black void and miss her ankle. But she feels the cold air that skirts by her ankle and it makes her jump. "I hope you did, because this place is hurting my head and I don't think it's safe." she whispers as she takes her friends arm and marches her towards the door.
"You aren't usually scared of places, Minnie." Anna tries to joke to alleviate the sudden stress she's feeling. "That was until I saw this place on the inside." Minerva tells Anna as the head back outside. The psychologist lets her go and then stalks off towards the grass. "So many voices." Minerva tells her as she breathes fresh air deeply. Trying not to throw up.
"I'm scared of this place." Minerva finally tells her after a few long moments of quiet. "Let's go. I don't want to stick around here for too long. No idea what this place will attract." she frowns to that as she heads for Anna's car. Anna seems to agree quietly and without questions.
