Detached: As of late Minerva has been trying hard not to make connections. Wonder why?
Ivriya Minerva Kosimar was born and raised in Gray-Harbor. Her family is made up predominantly of Jewish Immigrants who fled the war back in the 40's. Before things got really bad. They settled in the town and went about building a small life for themselves. Opening up a bakery that catered to breads, rolls and that sort of stuff. Using old family recipes. It was decided early in life that they would be better off calling Ivriya by her middle name, since people couldn't pronounce her first one right.
The voices started when she was about six. Whispering to her in the night and keeping her up. A sleep deprived frightened girl is a lot to deal with, and being the youngest she was doted upon a bit. When she was eight she was sitting at the dinner table and stabbed herself in the eye with her butter knife due to wanting to get them out of her head.
Thankfully she didn't die. But she lost her left eye due to the damage and well...wearing an eye patch is only so cool for so long. Relatives thought she was possessed. Her parents thought she was just approaching womanhood early on and was having a really bad go of it. No one did any research on the town when they settled and didn't realize the weirdness or the evil that could reside there. They found out by their daughters brush with death. Things got worse from there and it seemed like they were picking on Min.
When she was in her early teens, she finally could comprehend some of the situation and started a daily ritual to help with lessening the impact the voices had on her. It was something that drove her to start taking psychology courses when she got to college. When she got her Masters, she decided to branch off and get her Doctorate in Parapsychology. Living in this town it is something that might help.
Somedays she doesn't here the voices at all. Other times she doesn't want to get out of bed. She helps part time at the bakery and other times she does case work with locals that are attuned to the weirder side of things. Though she doesn't mind talking to new people, she's just weird about her eye and how people might react to finding out.
This stunning raven haired woman stands at 5'8" without her shoes on. Her rich ebony hair is full of life as it wends down past one smokey eye and down along her high cheekbone as it crashes down in waves to a spot just below her waist. Even without the makeup, her brilliant green eyes would shine like gems. above her strong nose, lush lips, and firm chin. And speaking of her eyes, the left is covered by an eyepatch that is unadorned or flashy. It's there for a purpose.
She dresses in dark hues with some white and red dashed in for accents. She usually keeps her hair down but when she's working she likes to pin it up. She wears sensible shoes on her feet most times given she walks a lot.
