It would appear that Minerva has had a few rough days. Make that weeks. Or we can be honest and say the past few months have been shot for the woman. She had a freak out and it ended in her arms being shredded by very sharp pieces of mirror by the time she realized what had happened. She managed to get a private room though at the hospital and she's been sleeping for the most part.

At the moment though she's awake and staring at the wall as something is playing on the TV. It's one of those thousand yard stares. Her arms are stitched and bandaged up. Plus she looks like death warmed over. She was definitely far more pale than she usually was. Which is either from blood loss or the fact that she's contracted Veil Flu on top of it.

Who knows?

Joey knocks on the door holding something flat green and leafy in his hand. Not the world's most likely visitor perhaps. He's resigned that he's just likely going to get this damn flu. Everyone is and it's going to such and there may be little sense getting worked up about it. Still, here he is.

He stays silent for a while and murmurs, "Hey, Min." She might not want to talk or listen. He doesn't seem inclined to force either on her. He does set what appears to be a small succulent, possibly an aloe plant, on the window sill. Taking a deep breath he casually offers, "Felt weird coming empty handed. Didn't want to make the room smell like a funeral home.."

Green eyes look from the plant to her and look at the woman in her less than put together state. "Wanted to see how you were doin. I heard from Erin what'd happened."

When the door is knocked upon and Joey enters Minerva gives a bit of a weak smile, "Hey, Joe." she states as she focuses on him. "Did you bring me a plant?" she asks him as she sits up a bit more in bed. Her green eye isn't bright, but she does seem happy to have a visitor that wasn't one of her family members.

Then there's a brighter smile, "You act like I'm not used to the smell of funeral homes." she muses.

She gives a gentle nod, "Come on in and have a seat. The chairs aren't that comfortable but, it's a hospital." she murmurs. "And yeah, that situation with Erin and others is hopefully almost done." she states. "This is sadly just a bit of blow back from it. It'll pass." she states. "How are you? I heard the gym is closed for a bit?" she asks him.

Joey cracks a light smile and seems pretty proud of himself countering, "Maybe I like to be different. Or difficult... or thought you might not be up for watering the damn thing every five minutes." Sort of thoughtful in its own way. he's not a cards and flowers sort. He's a someone was giving your trouble and I broke their fingers, an apology is forthcoming sort.

Same heavy boots carry his tired ass to the chair and he eases down into it leaning on one of the arms and offers, "Well lemme know if you want anything. I ain't bad shaking down stray nurses for ice chips." He considers how he is and shakes his head. "Just tired. Nothing that won't heal." A dry chuckle comes from him with a small wince and a cough, "Yeah, it's shut down for remodeling. Courtesy of William." Which should carry enough implications with it.

He looks up to the door for a long moment and back to her, "Kinda some scary shit. That's a lot to carry. How you holding up with it?"

Minerva gives a chuckle, "Difficult sometimes." she agrees with that. "But it's nothing wrong really. Some people go against the grain and that's nice." she tells him. Then she gives a nod to him, "I'll let you know if I need anyone shook down for ice chips, the nurses have been really nice so far. And not looking at me too crazy like." she admits.

Which was nice.

Then she frowns, "What happened with things? Did one of us lose our temper?" she asks him. Then there's a bit of a moment where she doesn't know how to process what he asked. But she recovers and there's a bit of a smile, "Best as I can really. I'm feeling like death and on top of that irrational urges to murder people keep popping up." she tells him quietly. "Just wish there was some down time." she adds.

Joey sorted things out with all parties leaving him comfortable enough to wave a hand. "Eh Tried to kill me and set the ring on fire. We got it sorted out. Everything's fine." Because leave it to Joe Kelly to talk about attempted murder like a fender bender. "Former wasn't their fault and the latter is an accident so, eeeeh insurance can worry about it." Were it personal it might be different.

Arching an eyebrow he says evenly, "That's because you're not crazy. They may not want some shit to be truuuuue, but you're not crazy." Says the man with a ghost in his house that almost lost a battle to the dinette set. He doesn't dismiss the homicidal urges. hell, that is a little close to home without being possessed. "Best as you can is a good start. And yeah that crappy flu is going around. Preeeetty damn certain I caught it from Sutton and de la Vega. I didn't think my cop problems would be viral." Hes funny once every 43 days. Set your watch for the next show now. "That why you're here or something else goin on?"

Minerva gives a bit of a look that suggests she's going to argue...but she does not. "Well, I can guess that it's one of the people from the exorcism. It wasn't Itzhak was it?" she asks him. "And that's understandable, but there's a bunch of us running around with a fraction of a serial killer in them and its...it's not really a fun time." she breathes out.

Then there's a chuckle, "You know, all of my doctors and teachers would disagree with you." she muses to him. "But no, I know I'm not crazy. The town is and it likes to drag new generations into the crazy with each passing year." she admits. "I feel like all we need is a huge shark trying to eat people and then we could be some horrific tourist spot." she shakes her head. Then there's mention of Ruiz and there's an amused look, "Probably caught it while I was in the veil. And cops...they either grow on you or they know just how to irritate you. I kind of like the Captain." she tells him.

"I'm tired, Joey. And I know others are. But dealing with all of this shit at once just kind of hit a breaking point. I had a real bad moment a few days ago and when I came to I'd beat the shit out of my bathroom mirror...and it won." she states as she raises her arms. "All in a days work. Now the flu is trying to murder me." she frowns.

Joey shakes his head. "Nope. Not Itzhak. Alexander." That all of her doctors and teachers would disagree with him draws a snicker as he had a lot of those teachers. "Yeah well when I told em shit they didn't listen too good either. I thought they were supposed to be the smart ones." It's not hard to have a grievance in this town. Sometimes it is hard to find someone to shut up and listen so he opts for that.

By the end one eyebrow goes up. There is a slow nod and he looks to her arms and back to how she reacts to it. "Well you are dealing with a lot of shit. I mean that's the thing about glass. You start out with 4 edges but just as soon as you get one shot in you have 800 more. Like words you can't take back that come at you. Shit when you need to page me and say Joey open the gym. I'll do it. When it's not melty hit that. Sometimes... I dunno sometimes we gotta take all that shit and put it the fuck somewhere else. Get it out. The shit that hurt it, the people that don't listen, the shit that gets fucked up because no one listened or we're too late or too... whatever. Ya gotta get it out. Have a path so it ain't doin more damage to you than everything else... and then ya know accept the fact that you'll probably still feel shitty but too tired to give a shit at that point and that's okay." He pauses and chuckles, "Then again I might not be the best person for perspective so take that for what it is."

Minerva looks a little shocked when he says Alexander, "He's...been through so much and if he's dealing with what we all are then I'm sure he didn't mean it." she murmurs. Then there's a snicker at the teacher comment, "Some of them were not being paid enough to deal with us." she admits with a smile.

Then she's listening to him and there's a moment she takes to close her eyes, "I'm scared that I'm going to kill someone if they get stupid and I don't need that. None of us need that." she murmurs. Then she opens her eyes again, "But I will call when the gym is good to go again. Do you need help with fixing it up?" she asks him in a quiet tone.

Joey turns his hands open, palms up. "Yup. That's why I said it was an accident and nothing to worry about. He's safe. He's not hurting himself or anyone else. I'm fine enough to bitch about having to get the funny smell out of my gym so, ya know, we'll get through this. We talked. He's not getting arrested or anything stupid."

He watches her for a long moment and dips a nod, "It's not so bad. I got Graham, Poe and Byron doing most of the heavy lifting." He chuckles shaking his head, "Don't worry so much about me. I've been taking care of my ass all my life. I'm okay. " He considers all the implications of her concerns and sighs, "I'm worried someone's gonna make you do something you don't want to too."

Min gives a bit of a relieved sigh, "Yeah, I'm glad he's squared away for now." she tells him. "And god only knows who else is going to blow up. I don't think I want to see any of us doing something we'll regret." she admits. "Itzhak out there worries me. He's already a ball of anger sometimes...and with this added stress I can only imagine what might happen." she murmurs. "But I need to worry about other things as well." she adds.

Then she gives a bit of a smile to him, "You know I always worry on things. It's just in my nature. And I know you've been taking care of your own ass, but let your friends ask if you need help will you." she muses. Then she shakes her head, "I'd pick an option of death before being forced to do something." she tells him.

Joey shrugs, "I'm less inclined to worry about someone dealing with anger management for years and more for those that aren't. They are worrying about their shit. You're gonna tear yourself apart worrying about everyone else. You need to heal and know they're doing the same, woman." Her question to him draws an uneven grin. "Yeah, well. That ain't changed about me. I'm a stubborn ass. Yeah. I'll keep you posted. When you're done healing here let me know and I'll let you know what's up, deal?" The words though and goes to the place he anticipated. He is not one to get his ass in an uproar though. His eyes watch her one and says, "Well you got backup on the outside. Holler before we get there, yeah? We lost too many from our class already. We ain't old enough for that volume loss yet, yeah?"

"You're always so good at putting things in focus." Minerva tells him with a pout. "And don't woman me." she swats at him with a laugh. "Oh yeah. I think one of the traits of the Kelly family is STUBBORNNESS." she smiles to that. "But it's why we love you guys." she adds. Then she sobers a bit and looks to him, "I'm not going anywhere and neither are any of our other classmates. We'll try to make sure no one else dies over this." she tells him.

Joey shrugs just a bit not saying he's right, but he's right. Sometimes. He enjoys the moment without gloating. He snorts a laugh getting swat, "Well if it wasn't stubbornness my ma's ghost wouldn't be haunting the first floor of the damn house now would it." Fair point! He pulls out his phone and punches some buttons pulling up the streaming app on his phone and props it on her rolling tray that holds food and the cup of ice chips when the nurses surrender them. "Here, I can hang out a while. Only thing worse than being sick is being bored as hell." And that... is the beginning of some glorious entertainment holes to fill up the next hour and a half or until she falls asleep.
