Minerva wasn't one to just take someone back to her apartment for a one night stand, but that is exactly what happened the night after her birthday. Belatedly birthday sex is probably the best thing you can get a girl who hasn't dated or slept with anyone in three years. It really is.
What she’d not expected was to wake up to someone talking to her. Minerva had startled herself awake around six in the morning and apparently the gentleman was still there. Warm hands had touched her slowly and gently, “Were you having a nightmare?” he’d asked.
Something about the tone of his voice and the way he asked it took her by surprise and she almost teared up there in the darkness.
“Yeah. I had one. Nothing to worry about though.” Minerva told him with a soft pat of her hand to his. “I didn’t mean to wake you though. I was surprised you were still here.” she admits in a quiet tone. It sounds amused.
There was a chuckle from the man as he brushed a few locks of her hair back, “Well, maybe I was waiting for it to get later to cook you breakfast or see if you wanted another go before I left.” he teased her gently.
That made her laugh. “Another go?” she asks him curiously. “I wouldn’t mind breakfast later, or sex again.” she admits. She doesn’t say anything else though, not wanting to talk on regrets that she’d have if she told him to go.
He leans in to press a kiss to her lips before laying back against the pillows, dragging her with him, “Just use me as a pillow for a few hours and then we’ll talk about what’s bothering you if you want to later, Riya.” he tells her.
Minerva gave him a soft smile, the raven haired woman snuggling up to his side and laying her head on his chest, “There’s not much bothering me for the moment, but we can talk after a bit more sleep.” she tells him as she lays her arm over his stomach.
It didn’t take her long to get to sleep, listening to someone else's heartbeat was sometimes a weird lullaby when you were alone most of the time.
