It's early evening at Memento Mori and there's a few people in the store. Most people aren't checking out the antique place on a Saturday life. They either have little to no life or they REALLY love antiques. But we aren't judging. It's a neat place so people don't know what they are missing!
Minerva is a regular here and she's making sure to stay out of the way this evening as others wander about. The tall woman is dressed in all black with her hat atop her head. Her eyepatch is back, but that's so it doesn't creep other people out. She's standing in the corner looking through books, seeming to decide which to buy and which to leave.
The door to Memento Mori opens and admits Garrett, a brand new face in this particular store, though he stops short as soon as he realizes how cramped the store is. Rather than risk plowing into something potentially priceless, he takes a moment to plot a path through the store. A few moments contemplation and he makes towards and edge of the store, then starts working towards the corner, presumably to make an initial lap through the place. With his trail runners, cargo pants and t-shirt with 'Charly Bliss' scrawled across the front, he looks more the outdoorsy type than the antiquing type, but he seems interested all the same, looking at what the place has to offer.
Minerva's gaze lifts when the door opens and a new face strolls in. She's not seen Garrett before and it's a rather curious look in the one green eye. She gives a dip of her head when he goes to pass her, "Evening." she states with a smile that curls her black lips up at the corners. She's still trying to figure out books, but seems to be making headway.
Garrett pauses as he's addressed, his attention abandoning the antiques in favor of Minerva. He blinks once, but a heartbeat later he's returning the smile. "Evening," he replies softly, London accent hard to miss, the stacks of books maybe making him treat the place like a library rather than a store the way he stays hushed. "Anything good?" he asks with a nod towards the books she's looking over.
"Ah, another from across the pond." Minerva chuckles. "Nothing really. Found an old copy of a book on demonology, but that's been it." she admits to that. "Are you new in town or just well hidden?" she asks him with a smile. "Wait, that sounded creepy." she frowns to herself. Talk normal Minerva! "Looking for anything in particular or just wandering?" she asks.
"Oh, six weeks or so, now, so bit of each at this point?" Garrett answers with a grin. An eyebrow quirks upwards at the book that was found, but it seems more idly amused than anything. "Demonology, hm?" The question gets an indifferent shrug from Garrett. "Nothing specific. Just see what there is to see. Maybe see if there's a guitar or something maybe, but if there isn't I'm not going to be heartbroken over it," he answers.
Minerva gives a smile to that, "Welcome to town." she offers along with a nod. "Yeah, I collect old occult books." she admits as she picks up the ones she's settled on. She didn't think she was going to have to fight anyone for them. Which was a good thing. "You might find a guitar here or leave a note for the owner and she could let you know if one comes in." she offers. "I'm Minerva by the way." she introduces herself.
"Ah, well, suppose demonology makes sense, then," Garrett responds with a grin. "Oh, right! Garrett. Pleased to meet you," he says in a bit of a rush. The suggestion of leaving a note for the owner gets a shrug, though. "Kind of ruins the point of I already know what's here, doesn't it?" he counters.
Minerva looks to him as he talks, "Nice to meet you, Garrett." she tells him. Then she chuckles, "It would defeat the purpose of coming in if you want to be surprised to leave a note, yes." she tells him. "I won't keep you long, just wanted to say hello and all of that." she offers with a smile.
Garrett gives a small smile at the minor, inconsequential 'victory'. But then he nods and glances about as if he just realized where he was. "Oh. Right. Of course. I'll get out of your hair, let you continue your book hunting," he says in a rush, shuffling back towards the everything about the place, still moving slow to avoid bumping into anything.
Minerva gives a chuckle to him, "You aren't in my hair. Not even my shop." she tells him. "But I need to get going. Just wanted to pick up a few things. Have a good evening, Garrett." she tells him with a dip of her head and heads for the counter.
"Nice to meet you. You have a good evening, too, Minerva," Garrett calls back, waving as she departs before continuing in his idle exploration of the antique shop.
