2019-07-12 - Broken Wings

Finch had a long day and working on her grad program probably leaves her feeling drained. She even feels on edge when she lies down to go to sleep.

The dream starts off with her standing in the entryway of the Murray House. She knows this place. And it knows her. The hole that Itzhak left in the floor is still there, no one's going to be cleaning that up for a bit.

As she approaches the dark pit that leads one straight down to the basement, she’d notice that there are the half dead corpses of a few different birds, scattered at the four points. A Robin, a Northern Cardinal and a Tropical Kingbird. Each of them take their last breaths at the same time. Glassy eyes fixed on her.

Fluttering down from the ceiling there comes a purple finch that is bright. It settles just on the edge of the hole and chirps to her. A skeletal hand rises from the darkness and then slaps down on the bird. The crunching of bones being heard as the blood flows towards her.

She can probably still smell the blood from the house when she jerks herself awake.
