Frankie! Frankie’s heard of this Murray House. Tonight something pulls her there during her dreams.

Or nightmares.

The house is abandoned and from the outside it looks like it might be a good thing for people to stay out. When her feet hit the walk up to the house she can feel a dread start to fill her body. Something doesn’t want her to go up them.

When her foot hits the first step, the door starts to creak open. The smell of rotten flesh can be smelled. It makes the stomach churn. But the body refuses to give in and vomit. The door is fully open when she looks to it. And in the doorway is a silhouette of a man holding an axe that’s covered in blood.

“Come to join the collection?” the figure asks as a light flickers. The frame is covered in blood and the thing that’s talking is...definitely not human. “Come on love, a pound of flesh for paradise...” it hisses as it steps onto the concrete and swings the axe.

Frankie can probably feel the breeze from the axe blow across her face when she wakes up.

That swing of that axe was enough to force Frankie upright in bed with a scream, her eyes wide open and her breathing fast as her heart gallops in her chest.

The scream is short, but alarmed, and as soon as it trails off her hands are at her face, checking to make sure that her nose is there, that the swing of that axe didn't remove her nose. Assuring herself that it is she rolls over, stumbling out of her bed to head for the old apothecary cabinet on the wall of her bedroom. With shaking hands she starts to pull the drawers open, collecting several items from it before grabbing the small brass bowl from the top of the cabinet.

With her prizes in her hands she moves to the carefully carved pentagram on the floor in the room, setting everything down on the floor before going to grab a bottle of water. When she returns she carefully fills the bowl with the water and sets the bottle outside the circle. Frankie then settles herself on the floor on her knees, drawing the circle around her and her items before reaching for the candle to light it. From it she then lights the bundle of sage which she holds up in her hands in front of her, eyes closed as she begins to breathe slowly.

The smoke from the sage is moved over her, then to the four directions before it gets set down, then she holds her hands over the flames of the silver candle, murmuring words quietly to herself at each stage. Sage for air, candle for fire, sea salt for earth, and then the water in the bowl is the final step. Her hands are actually rinsed in it before she holds them out in front of her, letting the water drip from them as she meditates for the rest of the night.
