Pay day, pay day. Lyric had a pay day! Ice cream is on the agenda and she walks to the Sweet Retreat. Nothing in town is too terribly far from anywhere else in the two and that's just the way the Gray Harber lifer got around. She comes in and stands at the counter as she debates flavors and stir ins. So many options!
Sitting at a table further into the shop, Tyrone is already mostly done with a frozen snack when Lyric makes her way in. He smirks when he sees her and watches, seeing what she's up to before interrupting her day.
There's never really a lot of money on Lyric but she has some and she looks over the options. "Banana ice cream with strawberry and pineapple stirred in. A.." A glance at the money, "Med.." oh wait that was a nickel, not a quarter. "No, a small one." She places the money on the counter and drops about twelve cents in the tip canister. "And that's all."
When Lyric decides to change her order, Tyrone shakes his head a little. He moves from his table and rolls back up to the counter, reaching underneath him to retrieve his card again. "Make it a large, and put the difference on this," he tells the clerk at the counter, sliding his credit card across the counter to them. Then, to Lyric, Tyrone says, "You can take it as a fee for being a tour guide the other day."

It's then when his presence is announced and with delight in her features Lyric gives him an enthusiastic hug. "I didn't know if I was going to see you again. I hoped we didn't run you away from the town." Standing again she shakes her head, I don't need a large one, really. Just a small one. Then on the way home we can buy a lemonberry slush to share." A grin, because now she's set on walking back towards the down town with him. "You don't have to pay me for being a tour guide. I liked it."
Oh! A hug! That takes Tyrone by surprise, so he doesn't quite manage to return it before Lyric is straightening up again. He also has to be very careful to turn his face so as not to bury it in her boobs, or awkwardly into her neck, because hugs can be very awkward when one person is bending over the other. "Oh ... kay ...," he says, shrugging as the clerk slides his card back to him. He replaces it in his pack and zips it closed. "But ... if you're getting ice cream now ... are you going to WANT a slushee later? I'm pretty sugared out." With that, Tyrone rolls back towards his table, rolling backwards and not bothering to turn around. He left his ice cream there, after all.

Lyric smiles when he agrees.. kind of. "That's why I get a small one with mostly fruit. Then I get a drink on the way home and if we shared it'd only be half the sugar." Taking her ice cream she walks over to his table, inviting herself to join him as she takes a seat in front of him. Her spoon is dunked in and she takes a bite before dipping it again and offering him a taste too, spoon out towards him. "This is my favorite, want to try it?"
Tyrone's eyebrows raise when Lyric offers him a taste from her own spoon. What's with this girl? But, not wanting to be rude, he reaches out and takes the spoon from her so he can taste it. He nods, handing her the spoon back, saying, "Well, that does taste like banana." No comment on his preference, though. "So how've you been, miss? It's been a few days. Anything new?" he asks, slipping back into the pronouns.

Oh well a few days was a forever friendship. Lyric smiles when he mentions the banana flavor, realizing he never said he liked it, just the flavor. "What did you order?" Peering over at his. "Yeah, I went in the veil and came out again. I didn't know I could do that. I almost got the sawmill working but there was an extra cog. I left it in the dreamworld though, in case someone else needed it." Oh, that's what it is. Lyric is insane. Is she?
"Oh, vanilla with butterfinger crumble stuff," Tyrone answers. And ... then Lyric says something nonsensical. His brow furrows as he tries to parse her story. The veil ... must be some place around town he hasn't been. She didn't know she was allowed? "... you're working at a sawmill, now?" he offers, obviously unsure whether he's got it right or not. The whole thing about the dreamworld ... he just lets slide for the moment.

"Oh that does look good. Can I taste it to see if I like it?" Leaning on the table on her elbows, she smiles over at him. "Oh no I don't work there. It's old and abandoned and Lizzy would never let me go there before. I've not seen Lizzy lately though and when I came out of the veil, there I was." Lyric shrugs. "The Addingtons own it."
Tyrone shrugs a little at the request to try his ice cream and slides it forward for her. "Knock yourself out," he says, nodding. But, her story has him puzzled. "So ... if it's abandoned ... why were you trying to get it to work again? I mean, a sawmill ... that could be really dangerous, couldn't it?" he asks. He's no expert on sawmills, afterall.
Lyric dips her spoon in his ice cream and samples the flavor. "Mmm, that's good too. I like the crunch in it." She goes back to her own though and as he questions she laughs a little. "You have to start the sawmill to get out of the veil. I started it long enough to get out. It didn't run for very long. I could open the veil for you but it's not comfortable getting in. But I can't get us out, we always have to go the way the Octopi told me to go."
"... riiiiight," Tyrone says, nodding as if he understands while internally, he's thinking .oO(Why is it that the hotter they are, the crazier they are?) "I'm pretty good right here, thanks. Not too keen on trying to get abandoned factories to work again. Probably pretty hazardous to your health." Which is probably very true, even if he hasn't got a clue of the reasons. "So ... one thing I've been wondering. Is there anything FUN to do around here? Like, dance club, bowling alley, anything? Since that arcade isn't around anymore, I didn't know where else to look."
%% It's your turn to pose.
"Yeah it's not for everyone but you shine like some of the others. Maybe not as much as I do, but you do shine." Once she finishes her ice cream, Lyric nods to his. "Are you finished? I'm gonna throw my container away, I can take yours too." Not because he's in a chair, but because it was polite. "There's a Firefly Club. I think Felix owns it so be careful, he has henchmen. It's a dance club. The beach used to be fun until the bearmanpig that ate the dog. Now it's a little scary."
Tyrone blinks a little when she says he shines, and smiles, and is about to compliment her back when she does it for him, which just makes him blink again. Okay, so ... she knew she was hot. Can't be mad at her for knowing it, she's got to have looked in a mirror once or twice in her life. So he lets her own it. He looks down at the ice cream cup, and then over at hers, and he boggles. How did she eat ALL that ice cream so fast without getting brain freeze? "Uh ... yeah, sure," he says, sliding the cup back over to her. "Wait ... the /what/ that ate the dog?" Because, clearly, he didn't hear her right.
%% It's your turn to pose.
Collecting the cup Lyric walks over and disposes of both along with the napkins before walkin back over to him. "Bearmanpig. It was big like a bear, had hands and all like man, and teeth like a bear, claws like a bear. But it snorted and ate like a pig. It at the whole dog bones and all, and they crunched. As soon as she put her flashlight on it, I passed out. I fainted. I'm glad they didn't leave me to die."
Tyrone blinks. And then blinks some more. ".... riiiiight," he responds, his brow furrowing. "I'm ... glad ... too. ... did they ... catch ... this thing? ... or anything? ... or should we be warning people?" he asks, trying very hard to judge whether Lyric is being honest and is just insane or if she's trying to pull one over on him.
%% It's your turn to pose.
"They slammed a rock on its head. I think? I don't really know, I was passed out. I don't know what happened to it but I think that's what someone said. I could be mistaken." Lyric smiles at him, "I know you don't believe me and that's okay. Like I said, this town has things. You'll see them eventually. When you're ready."
"... riiiiiiight," Tyrone says, nodding. Then he shakes his head and sighs. Oh well. Can't win 'em all, right? "So. Firefly Club, but watch out for Felix. Beach, but there are bear-man-pigs. Any place that has fun /without/ the warning label?" he asks, pulling away from the table, since they're ostensibly ready to leave.
%% It's your turn to pose.
"There are boat tours if you'd like to go out on the water? I could go with you if you wanted so you'd at least be with someone that you know." Good thing Lyric hasn't heard about what went wrong on that once with some passengers!
"Boat tour? Okay, so that's good for like, one time. But ... well, Lyric, what do YOU do when you want to relax, have fun and get loose?" Tyrone asks. "I mean, you've lived here all your life. Is there anything particularly fun you like to do?"
%% It's your turn to pose.
"I like to sit in my bedroom and compare videos with my friend Jonathan. I like to take a cooking class at the college, it was fun. I like the boats and swimming. Exploring the firefly woods is always fun too. I like going grocery shopping or to the shopping center and pretending I have a lot of money and wondering what I would buy. I like walking all over town and talking to people. I sometimes go to Church on Sunay. And the pond by the church is nice. I don't know what you like to do to tell you if we have it or not."
Tyrone sits and listens to Lyric listing off her likes, a smile crossing his face. Okay, so maybe she's not THAT nuts! A lot of those things seem pretty normal for a person to like to do. But ... wait a minute. Bedroom. Jonathan. Oh. Tyrone checks off a box on a mental list and nods to himself. "Well, a lot of that doesn't sound terrible. Matter of fact, I could probably use several cooking classes. I'm used to the military making all my food so I don't really know how to cook much beyond the basics," he explains. "And eating out every single day and night is gonna get expensive, even with all my money from the government." Tyrone scratches his chin a little as he thinks. Then, he shrugs and smiles. "Well, lets head back downtown. At any rate, all the buses leave from there so anything else I wanted to try, I'd have to leave from there. ... unless you've got a car?"
%% It's your turn to pose.
"I don't have a car or a license. I've never driven before. I grew up in foster care for a long time. Until the very day I turned eighteen. Then I was kicked out and.." Lyric shrugs. "And I had to find somewhere to live." She heads out with him though, intent on going down town. "Since I got a roommate, I mostly just listen to music in my room so I don't disturb him."
