Text

(TXT to Isabella) Alexander : Hotel murders def. not Ghoul.

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : What? Who were killed?

(TXT to Isabella) Alexander : The two at the Sea View. The Krugers. Not the Ghoul. Looks like, at this point, he only was responsible for one of the five.

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : So someone was definitely capitalizing on the serial killer's fever. That's interesting, and horribly opportunistic, but ultimately not surprising. How did you get that information so fast, anyway? Not that I doubt your skills as an amateur detective, but you work very fast for a man who walks everywhere.

(TXT to Isabella) Alexander : I'm not sure. These weren't copy cats. I think I'm going to have to shake some local organized crime trees and see who tries to kill me.

(TXT to Isabella) Alexander : As for how I got the information...Miss Reede, my sources are confidential. 🙂

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : I will allow the confidentiality of your sources, Mister Clayton. But as for the first one? Alexander, no. We talked about this! I mean, I'm trying not to tell you how to do your job, but you already have enough strange things after you. You don't need mundane elements coming after you on top of it!

(TXT to Isabella) Alexander : You can't tell me you're not going to tell me how to do my job and then try to tell me how to do my job, Isabella.

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : I never hid the fact that I'm a ridiculous human being!

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : I'm just saying, you've already got enough after you. Apparently since you were five. Five, Alexander!

(TXT to Isabella) Alexander : You're not ridiculous. But I can't not do my work because someone might not like it.

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : I'm plenty ridiculous. I broke Lilith out of the hospital today, and that doesn't even cover the other things I was contemplating this week. Just...

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : ((Long pause. She's probably sighing and flailing somewhere against her pillows))

(TXT to Isabella) Alexander : Oh. Was that fun, at least?

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : Don't change the subject! ...though it kind of was, Byron was really annoyed. But that's not the point! The point is you want to shake down the mob, Alexander! Trained professionals get killed for less. It

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : Argh

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : That's right. I'm sending you onomatopoeias now.

(TXT to Isabella) Alexander : I don't want to 'shake down' the mob, Isabella. I want to put away a killer. Or at least stop them from killing again and scaring people. If they happen to be affiliated with the local mob, well, that's unfortunate.

(TXT to Isabella) Alexander : It doesn't mean they should get a free pass on murder.

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : You said you were going to shake trees earlier. You know what kind of trees you want to shake? Mob trees! Mob trees, Alexander!

(TXT to Isabella) Alexander : 'Shake down' is to extort someone, 'shaking trees' is to cause some instability until information falls out.

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : I swear to god you know what I'm going to do after this? I'm going to find a way to call your mother, and ask her if she gave you a middle name, if not just to stress the fact that I'm being serious when I tell you that it doesn't matter what term you or I use for it, IT IS STILL THE MOB. You keep telling me that you get absolutely no support from the police department, that they'd rather that you go away. If you're right and that's how they feel about you, you're going to be dealing with them too, because this is their bag of nuts. Will you at least try to cooperate with them about this so if you need it, they'll watch your back and NOT slap you with obstruction of justice and interfering with an official police investigation charges?

(TXT to Isabella) Alexander : You are beautiful.

(TXT to Isabella) Alexander : I'm going to go to bed now, Isabella. Try not to worry, okay?

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : That only works in the state I'm in if you're actually face to face with me saying that, I'm serious, Alexander!

(TXT to Alexander) Isabella : And it's a little late for that! Just...oh my god, go to bed.
