Text

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : Mister Alexander Clayton? This is Detective Charlie Morgan, I was wondering if you had a few minutes to spare for a discussion.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : Detective Morgan. I remember you. Hello. I'm recovering from an illness, so I have nothing but time at the moment.

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : I realize this is unconventional, but we're following every possible lead. I'm working on the murder of the Kruger's, looking into who might be responsible. I was wondering if there might be anything that you've heard about it.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : I'm unlikely to complain about unconventional methodologies, Detective. As for that particular affair, I have some thoughts, but little hard evidence. I assume you've talked to Miss Kruger and her lover?

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : Had a brief conversation, didn't get far. Probably a few things that could have gotten asked that didn't.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : I didn't get very far, either, with that. I am fairly confident it wasn't the daughter, though.

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : I'm pretty confident that the daughter didn't know anything, and wasn't involved. Can't say the same confidence extends to the boyfriend. Especially considering what I got delivered the next day. Hold on.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : Holding. With interest.

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : Sorry, had to dig it up. So I got this. IMG: What follows is a picture of a manilla envelope and this, in a plain manila envelope. A print-out of this site: https://www.fws.gov/wafwo/articles.cfm?id=149489586 The cover-sheet is type-written and says: The fish had more to do with it than Felix.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : And that makes you more suspicious of Mr. Stewart?

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : It makes me think there is more going on than what's on the surface. Or I just pissed him off with bringing up the fact Mr. and Mrs. Kruger owed money to Monaghan.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : That would do it. For what it's worth, I don't think Stewart kills them. I believe he thinks Monaghan did, but I don't think that's the case. Do the Krugers own any other property? Aside from the hotel?

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : And may I touch that type-written page and envelope?

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : Touch? Sure. I'll put it back into the envelope and into an evidence bag. I can drop by with it when you want. So you think Stewart thinks his boss had them killed? Interesting.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : It's a reasonable assumption, considering. But I don't think it fits the evidence. And why? Doesn't feel like a motive exists, and it actively works against his interests.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : I'm not at my residence. But I could meet you somewhere. Gray Pond, maybe?

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : Can't keep paying a debt if they are dead. Yeah. Sloppy to do it where there is evidence of it, things like that. Long list of it, but it's the only real lead I've got right now. Yeah, I can meet you.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : ::smiley face:: I like you. You think. Good.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : Let's meet in the next couple of days. I should be back in walking shape then. In the meantime, if you don't object, I can look for ties between the trout and the Krugers. I am desperately bored.

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : Feel free. Although I'm fairly sure this is a reference to my fishing during the interview. But, maybe it's just Stewart being very, very clever.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : Nothing is impossible. But, as I said, I'm very bored, and researching endangered fish species and their local territories will distract me from

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : From my illness.

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : Research away. Anything you can turn up that'll help find who did this, we'll be thankful for. I'll be thankful for.

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : You mind if I bring Detective Quintanilla with me when we meet? He's really the one that really got the idea that killing them would mean no more money on the debt.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : Always happy to be of service. And no. Bring whoever you like, as long as they aren't irritating.

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : No more irritating than your average cop.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : I consider myself forewarned, then.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : Thank you for reaching out to me, Detective Morgan. By the way. I hope you're well.

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : So far, so good. Managed to avoid whatever seems to be going around.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : You're lucky. I'll stand out of infection range - although I'm over the worst of it.

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : I'm glad to hear you're over the worst of it. I'm doing my best to stay away, sort of surprised the munchkin hasn't brought it home yet.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : That's right. You have a child. I hope they don't catch it. It's survivable, but quite unpleasant.

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : I hope she doesn't either. So far, though, we're avoiding things. Pleased by that fact, let's just hope it lasts.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : I advise carrying industrial strength Lysol at all times and bathing in it after each encounter. Yes, you'll lose a great deal of skin. But it's worth it.

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : That bad, huh?

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : It is misery. And, well. If your child does get it, I advise you to watch her at night. Strong nightmares. Very strong.

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : Maybe I'll pull her out of school for a few weeks if it's that bad.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : Your call, Detective. Is there anything else that I can help you with?

(TXT to Alexander) Charlie : I think that'll do it, Mister Clayton. I appreciate you agreeing to meet.

(TXT to Charlie) Alexander : Anytime, Detective. 🙂 I hope to have some additional information for you.
