(Also, Ignacio is out of coffee.)
The flight into La Guardia is the usual was just what one would expect. Ignacio texted his girlfriend from the plane happy to have a small break from the wall to wall weirdness that is Gray Harbor, bu not her. They both had to split up to deal with the issues with their respective fathers, and he has to reason maybe it's for the best. She absolutely does not need all the drama from his emotional ass. He settled in, watched the Departed, texted her back again and then his sister.
(TXT to Ignacio) Marcela: Iggy, you here yet? Raf come with you?
(TXT to Marcela) Ignacio: No mas. Gate F
(TXT to Ignacio) Marcela: Damn. You bring anyone else? Hmmmm? 😃
(TXT to Marcela) Ignacio: You with the inquisition now? I'll see you in 4 minutes
(TXT to Ignacio) Marcela: No one expects the Spanish inquisition, bebe
(TXT to Marcela) Ignacio: I'm pretty certain that joke is on the wrong side of history
(TXT to Ignacio) Marcela: It's Monty Python. it's classic Mr. I lost my sense of humor. Oh I see you. You need a haircut, Mijo
(TXT to Finch) Ignacio: Oh yeah my sister's a gem. She ain't changed a bit. Love you. call me when you're out of lunch ❤️
He's not texting someone from the other side of the car. He can't hold the face silently judging his sister for long when she walks around the car with the same smart-ass grin he owns. The one duffelbag he brought is set on the sidewalk and leans to his good leg wrapping his arms around his baby sister; tan tall, proud. She may be the best of them. That he and Raf agreed on. He was home... sort of. Marcela presses a kiss to her brother's temple and pats his cheek. The hug lasts a moment. "You didn't bring Tony?"
"Well, I thought we could hang out, and he's at work."
Ignacio nods picking his bag up. She hasn't wrong about the haircut. He might have to take care of that while here and see if he can sneak a visit in while he can. "I see how it is. He doesn't love me anymore."
Marcela closes her door and slides her sunglasses down to give her brother a patient, deadpan, "Well he's marrying me so you two can hang out more, and then you moved on him, Ignacio." She just stares.
Both eyebrows go up taken aback at the whiplash snark delivered so sincerely. "Wooooooah, Mari I am impressed. I felt that... wow. Sooooo you're saying I'm more likable?" The wry half-grin reaches his ear on the good side hitting the crinkle in his eye.
Rolling her eyes the sigh comes, "Good lord your girlfriend must be a saint. Just buckle up."
