5:02am.

Seeing the time on the alarm clock, Katy feels like she only had about three hours of sleep, but really, has no clue exactly how long she actually spent sleeping. Could be more, although she is seriously doubting it. She definitely thinks it is more likely it could be less. She turns over and sees that Jonathan is asleep and she carefully slides away, grabbing her phone from the bedside table and using it to light her way to the bathroom.

Quietly closing the door behind her, the first thing Katy does after turning on the light is lift her tank top to check that her wound was still there. And it was, in its properly taped up state. She takes a moment to think. She had already used her abilities wherever it was she had been pulled into, which means there is no avoiding the danger ahead of her now. It is worth trying to mend herself, at least once. She conjures a burgundy glow on her left hand to attempt to heal the wound. She does not take off the dressing. Touching the covered wound with her hand, she focuses. But she still feels the sting of the injury, and nothing is mended. This means she won't be able to hide it from Jonathan for very long, if at all, depending on how much he remembers.

After her time in the bathroom, she grabs her fleece bathrobe and she quietly steps into the closet, still operating only under the light of her phone, and retrieves a one piece black bathing suit to change into it. Then she puts her bathrobe on and quietly exits into the cold winter dawn to use the hot tub, not turning it on out of fear of waking Jonathan up, but she is definitely going to be sitting in the hot water, giving herself time to think. Hanging her bathrobe on a nearby chair, she steps into the hot water, her body quickly adjusting to the temperature, and the cold no longer bothers her, though her wound stings slightly from being in the hot water.

It was so bizarre to experience a different version of her 16th birthday, and not being able to remember the events as they had previously occurred. She can remember not remembering, having been pulled into that strange place as if the last decade hadn't happened. It had been like being 16 all over again. Jonathan being a stranger to her was a stranger thing to experience in retrospect than it was in the moment, since in the moment she didn't know better. But the way she remembers him acting, he seems to have been able to carry his previous memories, which seemed really strange to her.

She closed her eyes, trying to collect her thoughts. Jonathan would wake up eventually, and she needed to be there for him. She needed to be strong. There is a lot more that needs to heal, and it's not just her wound.
