Some days you wake up feeling like you're more tired than if you'd been awake. When Jonathan wakes, it's one of those days. After what happened in that dark twisted version of the memory, he had trouble sleeping, and it took about an hour after he went to bed before he finally slept. But sleep seems to have dulled the memory of the experience by now. He can just remember bits and pieces of it. Turning in bed to look at where Katy should be, he blinks as he doesn't see her there, and sits up a bit quickly. "Katy?" he calls out, sounding a bit worried, even if a part of his mind tells him that she probably just got up earlier and is doing some work, or something.

When Katy hears his worried voice call for her, she immediately leaves the office and heads to their bedroom to check up on him. She sees him on the bed and returns to sit on the edge of his side of the bed, rubbing his back in a soothing manner. "Hey, babe," she coos reassuringly into his ear. "I was just in the office next door but I'm here now."

Jonathan lets out a breath of relief as he sees her, some of the tension melting away. As he hears her voice in his ear and she rubs his back, he reaches out to hold her close. "I was... Something happened last night, some sort of a warped version of the day we first met... Something bad, but I can't remember too much. You got wounded, though..." He grimaces a bit.

When Jonathan mentions her getting wounded, Katy wonders if he knows about the wound on her left side, the one she had gotten from that same incident...She places a gentle kiss on his forehead and she says, "I'm here and I promise I'm okay, Love."

Jonathan lets out another breath as he smiles. "Thank you. I was so worried..." he replies, keeping the words quiet for now. "One of the few things I remember is that feeling of hopelessness." He lets out another breath as he smiles, "But all is good now, right?"

"Everything's good now, babe," Katy reassures him, wrapping her arms around him in a hug. "Are you okay? You're not hurt, are you?" She looks him over, and aside from some bruises, seems to be okay.

Smiling as he hears that, nodding a bit as he hugs her in return. "Not hurt, only... shaken, I think. But now it's all well again."

Whether Jonathan knows about her injury or not, Katy needs to do what she can to keep him from getting more upset, so she doesn't say anything. As she stands up, she asks, "You want me to make breakfast? You don't have to move if you don't feel like it, I'll bring the food to you and you can have breakfast in bed."

Unable to hold back a brief yawn, Jonathan smiles. "I think I can move myself out to a table, at least. Not sure if I should head somewhere outside of the apartment today, though. I had trouble sleeping after..." He shakes his head a little again. "But breakfast sounds good," he adds, with another smile.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Katy offers quietly as she remains, standing next to the bed.

Jonathan starts getting to his feet a bit slowly, before moving to get dressed. "About it? The... incident?" He shakes his head a little. "I don't know. Probably not..." He smiles a bit, as he works on getting dressed. "Perhaps I need to talk about it at some point, but right now I feel some happier topics are better, right?"

Katy nods at Jonathan's response. She doesn't want to push him, so when he moves to get dressed, she heads towards the closet, to find herself something to wear. "So I meant to ask, how is Amanda doing?"

"She's been quite well. Enjoying her work and living on her own," Jonathan replies, with a smile. "I haven't spoken to her in the last few days since she's been busy, but all seemed to be well."

"That's good," she says with a smile, "Where did she end up anyway? I forget." Having found herself a nice outfit, she remains inside the rather large closet to get dressed, hoping to be discreet about not revealing the wound.

"Not too far from here," Jonathan replies, as he pulls his shirt over his head. Thus, he doesn't notice her staying inside the closet to get dressed. "She still drives down here from time to time to visit."

Katy emerges from the closet already fully clothed, in dark blue skinny jeans and a customised red Detroit Red Wings shirt with his name and number on it in white that she had gotten as soon as he'd gotten signed to wear for his first game. "What do you wanna eat?" she asks with a smile.

Turning as he straightens his own shirt, Jonathan is unable to hold back a wide grin as he sees the shirt she's wearing. "I'm sure I've said it before, but you look fabulous in that shirt," he says, before he smiles. "I don't know. What do you recommend?" he asks, a bit lightly.

There is a flirtatious smile on his face as Katy responds to his comment. "You know I never get enough of hearing it. And I love the way you smile when you see me wearing it." She pauses as she considers his request for recommendations. "We've got bacon, eggs, toast...I think I might have gotten everything to make buttermilk pancakes from scratch too. French toast is also an option. You have free reign of the kitchen if you want it."

"Hmm... Eggs and bacon on toast is always a good option," Jonathan replies, after a few moments of pause. "Nice and easy, after all." He smiles to the part about free reign of the kitchen.

"I figure since being in the kitchen is relaxing for you, you might appreciate being in charge of breakfast," Katy explains as she walks across the room, then she makes her way out of the bedroom and heads towards the office to retrieve her laptop so that she can work in the living room later.

Jonathan smiles, nodding. "Good thinking," he replies, making his way out of the bedroom and to the kitchen, smiling as he starts getting the eggs and bacon out onto the work area, readying the frying pan so both can be prepared. That done, he starts readying the toast, while still paying attention to the pan. Looking far more relaxed than earlier in the morning.

Stepping out into the living room, Katy can't help but smile at the sight in the kitchen. She is relieved to be able to get Jonathan to a better place, all things considered. She goes to put her laptop on the coffee table before she goes over to give Jonathan a kiss on the cheek, then carefully sits at the breakfast nook to watch him in action.

There's a smile as his cheek is kissed, and then Jonathan hurries to turn the bacon in the pan, then turn down the heat a bit. "Now just to let it get nice and warm," he offers as he looks around, grabbing the plates to start readying the food.

Watching Jonathan prepare the food, Katy has a small smile on her own face. "It's nice to see you feeling a bit more relaxed," she comments as she gets up and serves herself some apple juice. "What are your plans for today?"

"I don't think I have any particular plans yet," Jonathan replies, with a brief smile. "Hopefully the bad sleep will not have too much of an impact, so I won't be too tired." He smiles, as he has the plates ready, moving to place them so they can eat. "How about you? Work's interesting, I hope?"

"Work is work. I can get into a zone real quickly and just tunnel vision. I mean, it's coding. Framework stuff. Design work. But I don't think I'll be leaving the apartment today," Katy says casually.

Jonathan nods as he hears that. "It's always best, getting into the zone. I felt that was the most important task, both before games, and before exams and similar things in school, making sure to get into the zone." He nods again at the last part, smiling. "If I head out, it'll probably just be to get some groceries or something. Maybe a short walk just to get some air," he replies.

Katy chuckles, and says, "Yeah, you should probably be in charge of that stuff. Or at least have made a plan for the week of what you want to cook so that I know what to pick up. Also, make sure to pick up the stuff for your favourite breakfast of all time, and I'm going to try to make it for your birthday. I have a great day planned for you."

Jonathan smiles, "I'll make a list. Anything in particular you don't eat at all, just so we can stay away from that?" He pauses momentarily in thought at the part about his favorite breakfast of all time. "Hmmm... That'll make me think." He smiles again at the mention of her having a great day planned for his birthday. "It already sounds fabulous."

"Aside from the whole peanut allergy you know about, hmmmm, not really," Katy pointed out with a smile. "And yes, I already have it all planned out for you, Love." She seems genuinely excited.

Jonathan smiles, as he nods, "Then I'll make sure to come up with some tasty meals," he replies, before he grins as he hears that last part. "I'm really looking forward to it now."

"First, I'm going to need your consent in terms posting sickeningly sweet pictures on social media." Katy says this with a playful sort of grin. "You don't mind, do you?"

"Sickeningly sweet, huh?" Jonathan raises an eyebrow as he hears that, unable to hold back a grin. "I don't mind, no."

Katy looks genuinely excited for the breakfast Jonathan is putting together and when the plates finally come to the table, she gives him a grateful smile before starting on the bacon. "Hmmmmm, yup, I wanna show my man off to the world!"

Jonathan smiles as he hears that, offering another grin as he starts eating as well. "See, it's a good thing to you don't just want to hide me away," he replies, lightly.

Her face gets serious for a moment. "The only reason I would want to hide you away is to keep you safe..." she says quietly, looking down at her glass of apple juice.

"Thank you for that," Jonathan replies, before he smiles. "And you know I'll do anything to protect you as well, right?" That offered, he looks back down to his food, eating some of it in quiet.

"Yeah, I know," Katy says quietly, looking up at Jonathan as she says two simple words. "I remember."

Jonathan pauses momentarily as he hears that, before he nods, offering her another smile.

There is something about Jonathan's smile that bothers her and Katy decides to attempt to use her abilities to try to read into his emotional state but is somehow met with a wall. She frowns, not wanting to bring anything up that would upset him, and it seems like he might not be in the most receptive emotional state. Her eyes linger on him for a moment longer before she goes back to eating.

Pausing as he sees the frown, Jonathan lets out a bit of a breath. "Is something wrong?" It's offered quietly, but with a bit of a concern. He continues eating a little as he watches her.

Katy does not answer Jonathan, but instead stands up and lifts her shirt, and pulls off the dressing from her wound, revealing the 2cm puncture wound, and she watches his reaction.

"Wait..." Jonathan replies as his gaze goes to that wound. "In the dark version of the memory, was that you and not..." He goes quiet as he tries to come up with the right word. "The past you, or something?" He watches her carefully. "It's not getting worse, is it?" A glance to her face, then back to the wound. "Should I call mother to have her look at it, just in case?"

Katy shrugs. "I guess so...I mean, I got there and I felt like I was pulled into the past. So I guess that's right?" She sighs. "It's weird that you remembered being older wherever it was that we ended up, but you don't remember much of what happened." She pauses before adding, "It should be fine as long as it doesn't bleed too much, right?"

Jonathan nods as he hears that. "While you did not remember being older," he replies, letting out a bit of a breath. "It's quite strange, isn't it?" For the part about the wound, he frowns as he listens. "Just make sure that you go to the hospital if it doesn't get better. Promise me that, please." It's offered quietly, as he watches her once more.

"Do you think it needs stitches?" Katy asks, unsure of the answer to the question. "If it doesn't get any better, I promise I will go. You can take me, if you want."

"I don't know," Jonathan replies, before he adds, "I just don't want you to take any risks." Her promise makes him look a bit less worried, as he nods. "Good," he replies, offering her a smile again. "Hopefully it'll heal just fine, right?"

"Would it make you feel better if your mother checked it?" Katy offered, "How would we explain how I got it?"

Jonathan nods a bit slowly as he hears that. "I think so. But I don't know how we would explain it. I just remember that you suddenly had the wound, before we were running back home..." He lets out a bit of a breath.

Katy pauses for a moment to rub his arm reassuringly. "Call her over, I'll make arrangements with Security to let her in. We can tell her something like, an attempted mugging, maybe? Whatever will help you feel better. I just couldn't keep this from you anymore. I wanted to and I even tried...but it didn't feel right not to tell you."

"Thank you for not keeping it from me," Jonathan replies quietly, before he nods a bit. "I will call her," he replies, getting to his feet to pick up his phone and place the call. "She'll be here soon," he says, as he returns to the table. "I'm sure it'll be okay, it's just better to hve it looked at, right?"

"I didn't want to upset any more than you already were," Katy confessed, "I really was going to keep the injury from you. You were so upset this morning...I thought that if I could pretend like I was fine, that nothing happened to me, I could focus on you."

Jonathan reaches out to place a hand on her shoulder. "I would probably be more upset if you didn't tell me, and something happened to you." He pauses as he offers her a smile. "But thank you for looking out for me."

"Well...you've always been my number one, even to my own detriment," Katy points out quietly, "But hey, I'll get your Mom to check the wound and I'll even get stitches if you want."

There's a brief pause as he nods a bit at her words. "Good," Jonathan replies to the last part, before he adds, "And just remember that if something happens to you, that would cause more things to go wrong for me too." A brief pause, before he adds, "One of the few things I remember from that thing is how worried I got when you were hurt. Even more so since I was sure it was your younger self..."

"How did you know?" Katy asked quietly as she sipped on her juice.

"How did I know what?" Jonathan asks, after a few moments of pause. "That it was you? I didn't know, but I couldn't take any risk... I mean, it looked like you, even in that same dress as you wore that day. If something had happened..." He goes quiet again now, glancing around, then back at her.

"That's why you didn't want to leave." It was less a question and more a statement. "I haven't been able to get in touch with any of my cousins that can help but we need both need to learn about our abilities. It's likely that this won't be the last time this kind of stuff will happen, especially with both of us having inadvertently triggering our abilities."

"I... think so," Jonathan replies, before he pauses. "What was it that happened? Do you remember?" He nods again as he hears the part about needing to learn about their abilities. "We need to learn how to control them," he agrees.

Katy says, "For me, it's been about controlling my emotions, not freaking out under duress. Been doing meditation and breathing exercises, and it's served me well...but in that sort of situation? I just need to know how to defend myself. I don't fight like that." Katy pauses when Jonathan asks what happened. "We were ambushed at the Sweet Escape by some shadowy creatures, one of them stabbed me.""

Jonathan winces as he hears the part about the shadowy creatures. "We need to learn to defend ourselves, yes." He pauses again. "I feel both so much less upset and more upset at the same time now..." There's another brief pause, before he adds, "But we will get through this, together."

Still really unable to read him with her Glimmer, Katy looks apologetic when Jonathan says he's both less and more upset. "Yes, yes we will." She sighs. "I guess I better get these dishes cleaned up before your Mom gets here." She quickly calls Security to make sure Dr. Wallgren is allowed entry as her guest then she starts on cleaning up after breakfast. "I hope this isn't too much of an inconvenience for your Mom to check me out.

Jonathan nods as he hears that, moving to help with the dishes. "I'm quite sure she won't see it as an inconvenience. She knows how much you mean to me, both in the past and now. And that makes me fairly sure she likes you as well."

"It really means a lot to me that your Mom approves of me...she treated me more like family than my own family did at times. I just never fit in with the rest of the Addingtons the way I fit in with your family." Katy smiles fondly at the memories coming to mind.

Jonathan smiles, nodding as he hears that. "Sometimes, that's how things are," he replies, to that part about his mother having treated her more like family than her own family. "I mean, your family here, and your family back east are quite different from each other, right?"

Katy says, "Like night and day. But it's like, I know my parents love me, and both of their families are great...I just always felt like I was being pulled in so many different directions, without really feeling like I completely belonged anywhere." She pauses. "But now, you're the only family I need." Katy loads up the dishwasher with relative ease. "

Jonathan smiles, as he hears that. "I promise I'll try to keep you together when you're being pulled in different directions." He smiles again at her words about him being the only family she needs. "And that's why I love you as much as I do," he offers, with a smile.
