The drive to Seattle was a couple of hours long, and Katy had driven the whole way, towards their first destination. The Edgewater Hotel.

As Katy parks the car, she exclaims, "Here we are! Surprise number one."

Jonathan knows Seattle, or at least part of it, from those junior years before he went up to Alaska for the college. And while he relatively quickly realized they were heading to Seattle, he didn't expect something like the Edgewater. "Wow..." he gets out as they get there. "That's amazing..." It's offered a bit quietly as he looks around.

Katy quickly snaps a picture on her phone of the surprised look on Jonathan's face. She looks really pleased with herself with the way the day had been going. "You know the place?" she asks playfully, "I know you were up in Seattle for a while back in the day."

"I know of it, at least," Jonathan replies, shaking his head a little as he eyes her phone, although there's a grin. "I've never been there before, though."

Katy pulls her backpack from the trunk and grabs her garment bag from the backseat, then heads inside to get them checked in and get the room keys.

Jonathan gets hold of his own bag, and moves to follow Katy into the hotel. Fighting to keep that stupid wide grin from this morning from reappearing. That one's better left for when they're alone.

"Yes, the reservation is under Katherine Wallgren, for the Beatles Suite." Jonathan would overhear this while Katy is checking in. Then when she receives the keys, she leads them towards the elevator.

Jonathan is just looking around while Katy is checking in, although when he hears the name the reservation is under, he blinks momentarily, before he turns to look at her. Waiting for a few moments after she started leading the way to the elevator, before he follows after her. "Looks quite nice, this place," he offers.

"Only the best for my Number One," Katy comments casually as they step into the elevator. "I kind of let my impulses get the better of me. Is it too much? It's too much, isn't it?"

That wide grin is back as the elevator doors closes. "Maybe." There's a few momentds of pause as Jonathan watches her, before he smiles, "But I must admit that I feel it's quite nice to be treated this way." He looks like he's about to say something else, but doesn't.

Katy grins at Jonathan's reaction to her first surprise, still very proud of herself. Nothing she's gleaming off of him gives her cause for concern or anxiety as far as his current emotions so she feels good about what is doing. She does notice the hesitation and she asks, "What? What is it?"

"What name did you say you had used for the reservation?" Jonathan asks, sounding one part curious and perhaps a little bit amused as well. There's a smile as he watches her, so it doesn't seem to be anything wrong in his eyes.

"Hmmmm? Oh, yeah, I just..." Katy was turning bright red. "Katherine Wallgren. Don't you like the sound of it? I do. I just...thought it would fun to try it out."

Jonathan is unable to hold back a bit of a chuckle as he hears that. "I love the sound of it," he replies, with a smile.

When they finally reach the appropriate floor, they head to their suite, and when Katy opens the door, it's a brightly coloured Beatles themed suite that they see, with posters everywhere. The bright colours immediately catch their eyes. Katy walks in and drops her bag on the floor, and hangs up her garment bag in the closet. "Wow, this place is even more incredible than in the pictures on the website!"

Looking around for a few moments as they enter the suite, Jonathan whistles a bit. "That is an incredible suite," he offers with a smile. "Thank you." He looks around a bit more, pausing as he looks at some of the room decorations. "Fantastic place..."

"Order what you want for lunch from room service because after that, we have a little bit of a scavenger hunt type of thing to do," Katy announced as she shed her jacket and her hoodie.

"And that particular scavenger hunt requires a bit of energy, hmmm?" Taking off his jacket, he moves to sit down to look at what the options for room service are. "What do you want to eat?" he asks her.

"I'd like the short rib tacos with the clam chowder and the strawberry basil lemonade," Katy announces from the other side of the room as she looks at the sound system, and plays some music from the Beatles. And the song All My Lovin' fills the room.

Jonathan smiles, "That sounds quite good. I think I'll have the same." He smiles a little as he listens to the song. "If you go somewhere, you'd better write home every day," he offers, a bit lightly as he hears that part of the song, moving over to her and the sound system. Making sure to place the order for their food on his way. "You're making this my most memorable birthday ever, you know."

"I'd text you everyday and you know it," Katy counters his comment about writing home everyday, a smile on her face. When he approaches, she wraps her arms around him to hug him. "I'm glad I could do this for you."

"Good," Jonathan replies, with a smile, before he's hugged. Wrapping his own arms around her, he smiles. "You're really spoiling me, you know," he offers, with a smile.

Swaying to the music, they talk. "Yes, I know. That's the entire plan for today." Katy can't help but beam at him, proud of what she's been doing. "You've had years to spoil to me. It's my turn. Not too bad for my first time, huh?"

Jonathan grins, "Actually, I would say you're quite talented at this." Swaying to the music is a good thing. "Such lovely music too," he says, quietly.

Katy pulls away from the embrace after the song ends. "Did they say how long it would take for the food to show up?" she asked as she headed for her purse to grab her phone. She snapped more pictures of the room and of Jonathan.

"Only that it would be ready shortly," Jonathan replies. Taking the moment when she heads to grab her phone to start another Beatles song on the sound system. This one's 'Eight Days a Week'.

"Interesting choice," Katy comments. She decides to take a video of Jonathan on her phone for posterity. "So, Birthday Boy, why don't you tell the camera how your day's been so far?"

"Thank you," Jonathan replies at the part about it being an interesting choice. At the question, he looks at the camera. "So far, it has been a fantastic day, with breakfast in bed, and..." A brief pause as he smiles, "And a few other great surprises, like being here in this fantastic suite with this fantastic girl," he replies, before he adds. "I'm really looking forward to see what the rest of the day brings."

After Katy turns off the camera, she goes over to give Jonathan a sweet kiss.

And there's no hesitation as Jonathan kisses her back, leaning a bit towards her as he does, arms wrapping around her. He tries holding her there for a long while, until there's a knock on the door, accompanied by the words "Room service..."
