This place is an amalgamation of multiple cities. Bright lights, skyscrapers...all familiar yet completely foreign at the same time. Jonathan sees bits and pieces of the cities he's seen during his travels, merged into one completely brand new entity. It's the City with No Name, and yet it feels like all of the cities in his memory, all at once.
Oddly enough, the building he is in is recognisable. He's seen it in Detroit, it's one of the more expensive apartments to live at.
It's a nice penthouse he's in, and he's currently in bed, in the Master Bedroom suite. Alone.
Jonathan mutters to himself, as he glances around and out the window. "Where..." he mutters to himself. "Wait... Detroit?" He pauses after a few more moments of thought, as he gets to his feet. "Hello?" he calls out, in case there's someone else in the penthouse. "Looks nice here," he says, to nobody in particular, as he starts moving around the room.
The room is really nice, it's as luxurious as the one Jonathan calls home. He recalls seeing a less expensive apartment in this building before, just out of curiosity, though it was still out of his price range. When he calls out, he hears a tiny voice from the next room. "Daddy?!"
Trying to think of how he's ended up in this particular place, Jonathan blinks as he hears that voice from the next room. "What?" he mutters to himself, before he starts making his way over towards the door to that room. "Hello?" he repeats, as he enters that room.
The room Jonathan enters is lit by a nightlight from the corner of the room. And there, he sees a little girl, about 4 years old, sitting up on a small princess bed with a canopy. He can't really see the details of the dimly lit room but he can see the child.
"They're coming!!!" The child sounds distressed and upset, even more so than when she called for her Daddy.
Pausing as he sees the girl, Jonathan watches her for a few moments, before he makes his way over to her. "Wait, who's coming?" he asks, kneeling down next to the bed where she's sitting. "It's okay, don't be afraid..."
It's clear to Jonathan that the poor child had just woken up from a nightmare and was upset by it. Something he sees in the dim light are his own brown eyes reflected back at him, filled with fear.
"The Shadows," the girl replies, her voice and her lower lip trembling.
Hesitating, especially as he sees those eyes, Jonathan waits for a few more moments to hugs the girl. "Shadows..." he mutters, without really realizing it. "Everything's going to be okay..." he offers, rather quietly.
As his eyes scan around the room, something else Jonathan notices are letters on the wall spelling the name Elise. He also feels the child cling harder to him as he hugs her.
"Please don't leave me too," Elise's tiny voice begs as she clings onto Jonathan.
"Who else left you, Elise?" Jonathan offers quietly as he hears her words. "Where did they go?"
"The Shadows took Mommy when we were at Grandma's House," Elise explains, "When you went to play hockey."
Jonathan blinks as he hears that. "Wait... how...? Where did they take her?" He looks around once more. "What happened when they took her?"
"I don't know, I was sleeping, but I could feel it," Elise said with a whine, "Grandma said she would come back, but she's been gone a long time..."
Jonathan grimaces as he hears that, nodding a little bit. "How long ago was it?" He pauses for a few moments. "Maybe we need to find her and help her get back?"
Something that Jonathan picks up, now that he has had time with her, is that Elise Glimmers. He doesn't know the specifics but he can definitely sense it in the child. Which means that if anything bad happens, she's just as susceptible to it as he is.
"I'm too scared, Daddy," Elise whines quietly again, still holding on tightly to Jonathan.
"Okay..." Jonathan replies, looking a little thoughtful. "Maybe... Maybe we should go visit Grandma, then..." There's a brief pause, as he seems to realize something, and he pulls free of the girl, watching her carefully. "Elise, are you able to do things that many people can't? Like moving things without touching them, or something like that?"
Elise just shakes her head.
"Are you sure? I need to know, if we're going to find a way to find Mommy," Jonathan replies, smiling at her.
"I have no idea how to do that, I promise." Elise sits up. "Are we really going to go to Grandma's House tonight?"
Jonathan can see a clock on the wall, it's 1:37am.
Jonathan pauses as he sees the clock on the wall. "Hmmm... It is late, isn't it?" But how to get out of this whatever it is if they stay in one place? He considers that for a few moments, as he looks around the room, briefly. "Let's see..." Another pause, before he adds, "But if you find out you can do any special things, promise you will tell me. You will not be in trouble, but I will need to know."
There is a pause before Elise says, "I can feel them. I can feel the bad things when they're near. I can feel the Shadows. You believe me, right, Daddy?"
"I believe you, Elise. Are any of them near now?" Jonathan replies, giving her a smile of encouragement.
Not moving from her bed, the young girl's eyes travel towards the closet door in the corner of the room.
It only takes Jonathan a few seconds to start moving for that closet door as well. "Is there something bad inside?" he asks, a bit quietly.
"Daddy, don't go!" Elise whines at Jonathan.
But before Jonathan can properly react, the closet door opens on its own and he is pulled into something akin to a vacuum, and all he can hear is the shrieking and screaming of a terrified little girl behind him as it fades away.
"Is there something bad inside the clos..." Jonathan trails off as he's being pulled into that vacuum, grimacing as he tries figuring out where he is, or what's happening. That screaming and shrieking hurting his heart more than he thought it could.
Jonathan lands on his stomach, in a completely white room, with one dark shadowy creature he can see, and it looks like the ones he's encountered previously, humanoid shaped and corporeal.
There's a grunt as he lands on his stomach, and Jonathan grimaces as he gets to his feet, frowning at the whiteness of the room, and then that shadowy creature. He looks around to see if there's a way out of here, or anything he can use against the creature.
The room is completely empty, and Jonathan quickly realises he is on his own here. The creature lunges forward at him to attempt to attack him.

"You again..." Jonathan mutters as he moves to duck away from his attacker. "Why won't you ever give up?"
The creature stalks Jonathan, as if waiting for him to make a move. It it had a face, which it doesn't, it would look hungry.
Jonathan steps backwards, looking around for a few moments to try finding a way out of here. "Go away. There is nothing for you here..." he calls to the creature.
Out of the blue, the room seems to look like it stretches out in front of Jonathan. And when he looks over his shoulder, it also stretches out behind him.
Jonathan blinks as he glances over his shoulder. Room stretches out? He hurries to head off in that direction at a bit of a run. Hopefully this gives him a chance to get away.
It feels like he's been running for a long time but when he's finally met with a door he can see, there's another shadow creature there, waiting for him, this time, with little Elise in its clutches.
"Elise!" Jonathan calls out, eyes narrowing as he eyes the creature. "You let her go!" he calls to the thing.
"Daddy! They found me!" Elise screamed out as she tried to wriggle free from the creature.
"I know..." Jonathan replies to Elise, before he looks to the creature again. "Let her go at once..." A glance to see if there's anything else that can be used around here.
The door is closed but can be manipulated. That's the only thing that can really be seen.

Jonathan :frowns as he sees the door can be manipulated, and he starts using the Glimmer he has to try forcing the door open. "Come on..." he mutters.
The door swings open, just as Jonathan intends, hitting the creature's back, allowing Elise to wiggle free and grab Jonathan's hand to pull towards the door. The creature charges towards Jonathan.
Letting out a bit of a breath as the creature is hit by the door. And then his hand is taken, and he's pulled towards the door. Seeing the creature tries to charge towards him. "Let's go!" He calls to Elise, moving for the door.
Something strange happens as Jonathan and Elise cross the doorway and the door closes behind them. Jonathan feels his grip sliding from her hand as they're pulled in separate directions. Again, those haunting terrified screams ring out.
"Elise!" Jonathan calls out as they're pulled in separate directions, and he looks around to see where he's ended up this time.
This time, when he looks around, he's sitting up in a cold sweat, on the bed he shares with Katy, and next to him is his girl, sleeping soundly.
Blinking as he realizes where he is, Jonathan breathes a bit heavily as he takes some more moments to gather himself. Getting up from the bed, he slowly moves to the bathroom on slightly wobbly legs. Finding a towel to wipe some of that cold sweat off, he watches his reflection in the mirror for a little while, before walking back to the bed.
Once he's gotten back to bed, and gotten settled there, Jonathan leans in closer to Katy, slipping an arm around her before drifting off to sleep.
