It’s late.

She tries to be careful but the sound of her heels can be heard for a few moments before she takes them off.

Katy carefully steps into the bedroom she shares with Jonathan to strip herself of the fancy dress, the outfit that made her believable as an Addington, and she searches the giant walk in closet for something comfortable. She considers just stealing one of Jonathan’s shirts because they are comfortable and they smell like him. In the end, she goes for a nightshirt, a red silk one.

Jonathan had planned on staying up and waiting for her to get home. Which he has been doing, sort of. He's not in bed, at least. Because he's in a chair in the living room, a book on the floor next to him. It's very clear that he's asleep , leaning back a bit. He looks rather relaxed as he sits there.

Having noticed him on the chair earlier, Katy goes back out to the living room, dressed ready for bed. She picks up the book and places it on the coffee table before she walks over and gives him a kiss on the forehead.

"mmmmhmmmm..." comes the quiet sound from Jonathan at the kiss on his forehead. He may not be entirely awake yet, but he's aware of the touch. "Morning already?" he mumbles.

"Sorry I'm late babe, you didn't have to wait up for me," Katy whispers into his ear as she makes her way down and kisses his neck.

Jonathan opens his eyes a bit slowly as he hears that whisper. "What... time is it?" he asks, holding still as he notices she's kissing his neck.

"Sometime after midnight," Katy replies quietly after she finishes kissing his neck.

Jonathan slips his arms around her as she finishes kissing his neck. "So, had a nice party?" he asks, offering her another smile.

"Yeah, I mean, you know how uncomfortable I get with Addington family events." Katy shrugs as she speaks and whether he was awake enough or not, Jonathan would definitely sense something off about her.

"Sorry I couldn't be there with you. Maybe that would make you a little less uncomfortable, hmmm?" Jonathan pauses as he watches her a bit more carefully. "What's wrong?" he asks, looking a little worried.

Katy sighs as she sits on his lap and cuddles up to him. "Just a really weird thing happened at the party...I felt something tug at me, trying to influence my mind...and then someone interrupted the party out of the blue to propose to their boyfriend." She shrugs.

Pausing as he hears that. "Something tried to influence your mind? What was it?" He goes quiet for a few moments as he hears that last part. "Who propsed to their boyfriend?" Sounding curious about that last part.

"It didn't work and Eleanor proposed to August. I have pictures on my phone I can show you later." Katy pauses. "Do you ever think about it? Do you ever think about getting married?"

Jonathan nods a little as he listens. "Ah, I see..." He pauses a little at hears that last questions, glancing around the room for a few moments, then back to Katy, offering her a bit of a smile. "The thought have crossed my mind, yes." He pauses for a few moments. "Every now and then, in fact." A brief pause, before he adds, "How about you? Do you ever think about it?"

"A lot actually," Katy confesses, "Especially when there's something really intense happening." She pauses before she adds, "With the way our lives are, and the threat of something coming after us, what are we really waiting for? Why be afraid?"

Nodding a little as he hears that, Jonathan smiles. "I don't think it's really us being afraid," he replies, after a few moments of pause. "I think it's more that thought of wanting the moment to be perfect, and all that."

"And what if we're waiting for something that never comes?" Katy points out, her eyelids feeling heavy as she gets tired.

"That is the question I've been asking myself every now and then," Jonathan replies, offering her a quiet smile.

"I don't need a perfect moment, I have the perfect soulmate with me." Katy smiles as she starts to get really tired.

Jonathan smiles back at her. "Then perhaps we should not wait any longer." He smiles, as he adds, "There's nobody I'd rather share my life with than you, you know that already." A second pause and his smile widens. "And we already know your first name fits well with my last name..." There's a brief pause, before he adds, "We should probably be heading to bed soon."

"I kept us apart for too long. I'm ready for forever with you." And with that, Katy picks herself up to get off Jonathan's lap to head to the bedroom.

Jonathan waits until she has gotten up off his lap, then gets up as well. After a few moments of pause, he moves over to try grabbing hold of her and lifting her up into his arms. "Then let us have forever," he replies.

Having made it only a few short paces ahead of him, Katy is startled when Jonathan grabs her and lifts her. "What are you suggesting?" she asks quietly.

Jonathan offers her a bit of a mysterious smile as he carries her to the bedroom. "How about this... I'll think about it, try to get some things done in the morning, or something, and then I'll tell you what I was thinking about," he offers, a bit lightly to her as he gently places her on the bed. "That sounds good?"

There is a pout and Katy says, "Tease." But she smiles as she is being placed on the bed, letting out a yawn. "I love you. I just wanted you to know what happened and what I was thinking. I just..." When Jonathan lies next to her, she cuddles up to him and melts into his arms. "I love you."

"And I love you," Jonathan replies as he hurries to get out of his day clothes and lays down next to her, slipping his arms around her as she cuddles up to him.
