Pizza. Katy loves her pizza. The Pizza Kitchen is always a favourite local place to eat out at and while Jonathan is great in the kitchen, sometimes it's nice to go out for a date night. She figures that he deserves time off in the kitchen. It's a nice change of pace, something she personally has needed lately. They sit down at their usual booth, waiting for their usual pizzas.

Jonathan smiles as he sit down at the booth, looking around for a few moemnts, then back to Katy. "It's nice to be out and about for a little while, isn't it?" It's offered a bit quietly as he watches her for a few moments, then looks around at the other guests at the restaurant.

"It's nice to have a break in routine, if I have to listen in on another Avondale Press Digital Media Team meeting, I might just lose my mind. They've allowed me to telecommute but their desire to have me involved in every little thing with the rest of the Team is a little bit much." Katy smiles, and says, "I'm glad to have the work though. And I'm glad for clients who don't require me to drive up to Seattle."

"O, davay! Eta veshch' sfal'sifitsirovana!" Mildly irritated Russian can be the side of the restaurant that has the arcade games. Specifically from one of the pinball machines where Kip had been on a hot streak and just lost! Less so because the game was rigged and more that she got distracted for a half a second at the wrong time. She sighs, muttering a few other choice words in Russian as she leaves the machine and walks over to the counter.

Whatever irritation she had been feeling was fleeting and she is all smiles as she walks to the counter to order a couple slices of pepperoni pizza. A polite smile is given towards Katy and Jonathan when she notices the pair though she has no idea who they are. Then again, she can still count on her fingers how many people she's properly been acquainted with during her short time here in town.

"I'm glad for every clients of yours that let you work from home," Jonathan replies with a smile, before he pauses as he hears the language he's heard a few times, but doesn't really know. Looking over where Kip is, he offers her a polite nod and a smile. "I think I heard someone say something like that before, but I never found out what it meant," he says, a bit quietly.

With a chuckle, Katy looks over to Kip with a smile. "You had the impressive hot streak over there for a while," she comments quietly, "I've spent years trying to get good at that...never got that good."

Kip gives a little wave of her hand. "Just was lucky." Her English accented heavily and shifted a bit to focus on the pair further while she awaited her pizza. "I rarely ever get to going that long." A soft chuckle before, "Well I do not know what this someone said- but I had just said it was rigged. Which," Now Kip glances over her shoulder to the machine and then back to the couple. "It might be, but it was my mess up."

"I think it was a bit more of the tone than the actual words," Jonathan replies, with a bit of a chuckle, before he adds, "Russian, right? I mean, I've known a few Russians, and some others from Eastern Europe. Don't know the languages more than partially knowing which of them it is, though."

"Whether it's rigged or not, I'm pretty sure I'm just terrible at it. I'm Katy by the way," The blonde introduces herself. "That's Jonathan." She smiles a friendly smile.

"Pretty much all Russian is....gruff? Sounding but, yes general rule of thumb? The gruffer, and louder - the angrier. At least in my opinion." Kip laughed again. "Kapitsa. Kip for short if you rather. It is nice to meet you both. How long have you both been in town?"

Jonathan grins at Kip's words, "That's how I seem to remember it, yes," A brief pause, before he adds, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Kip." As for the question about how long he's been in town, he shrugs. "I grew up here, then left and lived a few other places, before I moved back to here not too long ago. How about you?"

"I moved here in January for work and personal reasons." She smiles at Jonathan as she says this, before he asks about how long Kip has been in town.

"So forever and a short time." Kip chuckles, nodding to each of them in turn. "I have only been here a few weeks myself. Work related. Sort of. Also wanted a change of scenery. Russian winters are the devils work." It's spoken so seriously, though she does crack a smile to the pair. "I like it well enough so far." Thanking the clerk for her pizza and then taking a seat at a table near the pair.

Jonathan smiles as Katy mentions personal reasons, nodding a little at her words, before he looks to Kip again. "What kind of work?" he asks, after a few brief moments of pause.

"Me? I am a paranormal investigator. Though I am looking for side work. Not really sure what type of work yet but. Something flexible." Kip nodded. "What of you two? What do you do?"

"I'm a web designer. I design and program websites mostly, though I've been working learning more about the backend development side of things, it's been a challenge." Katy explains casually.

Jonathan grins. "Paranormal investigator? That sounds quite interesting," he offers, before he shrugs a little bit. "I'm sort of in-between work at the moment, really."

"Oh which reminds me, I totally forgot but Isabella told me that City Hall might have use for someone with a management background, you might want to reach out to her and ask about that," Katy tells Jonathan quickly, before Kip says anything else, then she turns to Kip and smiles, attentive and ready to listen.

Kip took a couple bites of her pizza as they answered about their working. Once Katy had finished adding her note to Jonathan - "A web designer? Very neat! If I come in to needing a website I will have to look at some of your work." She wiped her hands on a napkin and then pulled her phone out to make a couple notes on the note app. "It is interesting work." She flashed another smile. "Not very steady though. But it is my passion. Always has been."

"Oh? That would probably be worth checking out," Jonathan replies to Katy. "Would be nice to actually get to use my education for something, right?" He smiles at Kip's words. "See, you have interesting, steady and your passion. Pick two." It's offered lightly.

"Well, I mean interesting and steady is working out okay for me..." Katy comments casually, not really speaking of passion as she takes a bit out of the pizza placed in front of her.

"Interesting and passionate, however." She nods towards Katy a bit. "Interesting and passionate does not often pay the bills. That is why they are called starving artists - not stuffed ones." She relaxes a bit in her seat. "Which is why I am looking for a steady and interesting thing to assist in paying the bills I will surely begin to have soon."

"I don't know," Jonathan replies, unable to hold back a grin. "Interesting and passionate actually worked well for paying my bills, though." He shrugs a little, looking around the room then back to the two.

And sometimes, passions die. Though Katy doesn't really say anything about that. "I mean, I could go for passion in my career but...the steady part of my steady interesting career is keeping me from having the time for that. Although Jon and I have been taking dance lessons together and can now do mean basic waltz, which is nice." She smiles at this. It's nice to be able to share what was once her life with Jonathan while still starting something new together.

Kip considered the couple for a moment and smiled again. "As long as you are not all work and no play, you will be okay. Dancing is a lot of fun. I love to dance. It is nice you two can do something together like that." She glanced to her phone as it chimed and made a bit of a face before responding to whatever it was with a couple taps of a text and sighed. "It would appear I have to depart." She stood up so she could retrieve a to-go box. "It was nice to meet you two. Enjoy the rest of your evening, yes? I'm sure I will see you around." Flashing them a final smile before heading out with her take out.

"I'm very glad we're taking the dance lessons. Gives us something fun to do every now and then," Jonathan replies, before he looks to Kip as she speaks about needing to depart. "It was a pleasure to meet you. I hope the rest of your day will be good."

"Enjoy the rest of your evening," Katy says to Kip before she turns to Jonathan and replies, "I really want to get into the competitive aspects of it, I know that's going to take time but that's the goal eventually. I miss that part of my life."

"Competitive dancing?" Jonathan raises an eyebrow a little as he hears that. "Sounds... interesting, although a part of me thinks it sounds a bit terrifying too." That's offered a bit lightly, yet thoughtfully.

Katy chuckles. "It's my sport. I used to compete as a tapper actually, but that didn't necessarily pan out after the age of 10." She adds, "The being judged and the audience are probably the scariest things. I'm sure you could get past that."

"The audience would clearly be the scariest," Jonathan replies, before he grins, "I mean, it's always most scary if people see you make a fool of yourself, right?" It's said with a bit of a laugh.

"You know that's why we train, right? To avoid making a fool out of ourselves. You're an athlete, you understand the importance of training." Katy points out after swallowing her pizza.

Jonathan chuckles as he hears that, eating some of the pizza. "I know. The feeling will never really go away, though. A part of me still worried about making a fool of me every game I played."

"No matter what kind of performance, everyone gets nervous. It's about expectations. You don't want to let anyone down." Katy understands this from her short competitive dancing career, having done competitions in groups and duets as well as solo. "It means you care."

Jonathan nods as he hears that, offering another smile. "It does." He eats some more of the pizza, rather thougtfully. "So, what's the competitive dancing like around here?" he asks.

"Small scale, mostly in-studio competitions with other students. You gotta travel for bigger events, bigger competitions," Katy explains, "The more you travel, the higher level of competition. So if you're really concerned, we could always stay local."

Jonathan smiles, "Probably best to start on the local level and see how far we can get there first?" he suggests, with a quiet smile.

Katy chuckles at this. "Thanks for humouring me with the dance lessons. It means a lot to me."

"I know," Jonathan replies, offering her another smile. "Which makes it mean quite a bit to me as well."
