It's the morning after her night out with Lucas and Katy is of course busily working away again. She'd barely felt the alcohol, not having much of a chance to drink and having sobered up after less than half her drink. No hangovers. It's just business as usual, except of course for her typical worries about Lucas. She has her second cup of coffee of the morning and she's furiously typing away at some code, typical work day stuff.

After he got up, Jonathan took a brief trip outside to go for a walk, before he returned to take a shower and such. He steps out and walks past where Katy is working. "That typing sounds like some kind of melody played on a drum," he remarks, a bit lightly.

"Sometimes, I get in this zone and it just flows," Katy explained as Jonathan's voice cuts through her thoughts for just a moment. She spins her desk chair around to face him by the doorway, "How has the job hunt been lately?"

"Honestly, it feels like applying for work and interviews are not the worst part of the hunt," Jonathan replies, a bit lightly. "It's all of that waiting in between." There's a brief pause, before he adds, "I'm thinking about sending a letter to the High School, asking if there are some openings on the coaching staff there for the next year. Sounds like a good idea, doesn't it?"

All Katy does is stand up from her seat and walk over to him to place a kiss on his forehead in response to his announcement.

"The waiting in between is awful. That's why I went into business on my own, freelancing and whatnot. It's nice to be able to go where the work is. I know not everyone can do that. But I believe something will hit at some point. Maybe they'll need someone over the Spring and Summer to train up the team in the off-season or something."

Jonathan nods as he hears that, offering her a smile, as well as a hug at that kiss on his forehead. "Being able to go where the work is all the time sounds quite nice," he replies. "I remember someone I knew in college spoke about just going from one place to another for a while, working and then moving on once they needed to change jobs." He nods again as he hears that last part, unable to hold back a smile. "Hopefully. Worth a try, isn't it?"

"So...how were your parents when you saw them? How are they feeling about this whole wedding thing?" Katy asks carefully as she walks towards the kitchen after grabbing her empty coffee cup.

"They seem to be feeling good about it, especially since they know how it makes me feel," Jonathan replies, before he adds, "The reason why they sent the message was because they needed some help with some things. When I read it, it sounded like an emeregency, otherwise I'd have asked them if it could wait a little longer," he offers as he walks along with her towards the kitchen.

"We haven't really talked about it, but I guess we have to start doing some planning in earnest right?" Katy says as she makes herself another cup of coffee.

Jonathan nods as he hears that. "It feels like we've only been enjoying the new situation so far, doesn't it?" He smiles a little at the mention of the planning. "I've heard that there's quite a bit planning involved in such events, often. But first we'd need to figure out how big an event we would want. right?"

"I mean, do we want to take our time? Long engagement or whatever? Like, when do we actually want to do this?" Katy asks, "I haven't exactly told my parents yet, so we'll see how that goes."

Jonathan nods again as he hears that. "I think you telling your parents would influence how long an engagement we would want, right?" There's a brief moment of pause, before he adds, "How did you imagine your wedding in your dreams?" Sounding a bit curious as he offers her another smile.

"I mean I guess we need to make a trip out east at some point to deal with that." Katy simply shrugs. When asked about the wedding in her dreams, she smiles. "I always thought it would be nice to have a wedding on the beach in the summer."

"Then I suppose one of the most important thing to figure out is which summer we should be aiming for, right?" Jonathan replies, with a smile. "And which beach, of course." There's another smile offered. "And a trip out east sounds like a good idea. Of course, when we do that would influence which summer, right?" He smiles, nodding a bit. "The question is when we should be going on that trip, then."

"We can just run away, do a destination wedding and get married just the two of us," Katy suggests, "Maybe I don't want to make a fuss with any Addingtons." She sighs. "You know I want to get married as soon as possible. But Atli was all about it being elaborate and she wants to throw an engagement party."

"We can do that. Might have to host some kind of a party or something once we get home so family and friends would get a moment, right?" Jonathan replies, before he grins. "Where would we goP I mean, there are many places with great beaches." He nods again as he hears Katy's words about that engagement party. "Think it'll be a good party?"

"I don't know, I don't want Atli taking over and making it about her. She's always managed to make me feel like an outsider because my father decided to raise me outside of Gray Harbor. I'm still an Addington." Katy says in a huff, "And now Luke's on my case about trying to get along with her."

Jonathan nods as he hears that. "Hopefully she won't do something like that, but I can understand your worry," he replies, before he smiles. "You're not only still an Addington, you're one of the very best," he replies. He pauses a bit as he hears the part about Luke. "Ah, I see..." he replies, after a few brief moments of pause.

"Yeah well, I've been calling him out for years about his feelings for Atli and he basically just proved what I've been saying this whole time. I just get worried that she's too caught up on being an Addington to realise what's in front of her. He's my best friend, and I don't want him to get his heart broken again." Katy sighs. "But now he's got this idea that I should be nice to her, and be friends with her, that she's a good person deep down if I dig past the bitch."

"Then it seems you were right about that, at least," Jonathan replies, before he adds, "But I understand the worry about her not being able to see what she has. Some people have trouble with that. I guess we could only hope that she has something in her like you and Erin, and manage to be more than just what everyone sees." He shrugs a little bit.

Katy simply shrugs at Jonathan's response about Atli. "We don't have to think about a wedding party just yet. It's probably best if we decide when we want to do this," she points out, "I mean, I'd love to get married in the summer. But also not in Gray Harbor? I don't know. Destination wedding is another idea I've thought about."

Jonathan nods again as he hears that, "A destination wedding sounds quite nice, actually. Of course, it depends on the destination, right? Any idea about where you would want to go?" Sounding a bit curious. There's also a bit of a grin, "And a destination wedding could still be a beach wedding, right? But would we want somewhere with a lot of people, or somewhere less populated?"

"I don't really know yet..." Katy stands upright and muses almost to herself, "We'd probably need a wedding planner or something. We might have to drive up to Seattle to find a good one." She finishes her coffee with a sigh. She feels a bit overwhelmed by the task of planning a wedding. "I think that's the first step. Professional help."

"You know I'm always happy to head to Seattle with you," Jonathan replies, with a bit of a smile. "It's a good first step, I agree."

"Great. I also have to find a way to survive shopping with Erin and Atli. I mean, Erin will be there, so I'm not the only suffering. But I guess dress shopping and stuff, it's going to be a thing." She sighs.

Jonathan grins, "Think about me, waiting for when you get back?" he suggests a bit lightly.

Katy finishes her second cup of coffee and leads over the counter. "There's going to be a lot to figure out. I figured we should start talking about it." She pauses with a smirk. "But for right now, we work out the...less complicated parts. Like who you'd want in the wedding party and what colours we want to use."

Jonathan smiles as he pours himself some coffee as well. "Starting to figure out these things are important, yes." Taking a sip, he shrugs a little. "Now, who would we want at the party? I think my parents and sister would more or less insist to be there, at least..."

"I meant, like bridesmaids and groomsmen, stuff like that. The reception guest list is a whole different matter," Katy points out playfully.

Jonathan hmms, "True..." he replies, a bit thoughtfully. "Need to think a bit more on that one, I think."

Leaning over the counter, Katy gives Jonathan a kiss on the forehead. "You should ask some of your friends from high school, reach out again." Then changing the subject, she says, "I have to get back to work. Conference call in 20. I'll come out for some lunch afterwards though. Maybe we can grab some pizza or something."

Jonathan nods a little as he hears that, smiling at her. "I'll see which of them I can speak with," he offers, before nods at the change of subject. "I'll be waiting," he offers, a bit lightly. "Enjoy the conference call," he adds.
