Lucas is lying in bed, looking...well bored, he seems to have found a little red rubber ball and is bouncing it off the cieling, waiting to find out when they are going to let him go. His appendix bursting a couple days ago leading to bruised ribs from falling out of the bunk, originally believe broken, but further examination has found that to have been a ...hasty diagnosis? The Doctors are mumbling about it some but not bothering to look to deep into the situation.

There is a light knock on the room's door, and Eleanor pushes it open to enter with a little basket full of goodies from Espresso Yourself and a few other places. There is a large to go container of peppermint hot cocoa, a variety of danishes and muffins, a couple of chocolate croissants from Patisserie Vydal, a book of word searches and one of crossword puzzles, and an iTunes gift card for him to order movies to watch while in there.

"Hey kiddo, how are you feeling today?" Ellie asks with a warm smile. She's in jeans and a peasant blouse under a denim jacket with fashion boots, and her hair is loose and flowy.

Lucas says, "Like everyone is over reacting, I feel fine. When I first woke up it really felt like I had been run over by a truck, but now...why Aren't they letting me leave?" Of course the only reason he feels that way is because of the visit of two seperate healers and a lot of Glimmer."

Eleanor, of course, realizes that's what has been going on here, but she's happy to maintain her brother's obliviousness in regards to Them and The Veil and all the Glimmers. "You were always a fast healer, Lucas. The doctors are just being careful, because you're a first responder, and they want to make sure you're 100 percent so you can go back to work." She sets the basket down on the bedside table, but takes out the cocoa while it's still hot, handing it to him. "They'll probably discharge you tomorrow."

Lucas smiles and takes a deep sip, "YOu know Atli thinks you hate her...the way you took off last time as soon as she arrived" He savors the taste of the cocoa, 'Which is weird because the two of you have a lot in common"

"What on Earth could I possibly have in common with an Addington?" Eleanor asks, wide-eyed. She settles down in a guest chair. "I don't hate Atli. I don't hate anyone really. I just worry that she's from a whole different world than our family, Lucas. I'm not sure she even realizes that, because she's never not been rich."

Lucas smiles softly, "She is a huge conspiracy theorist too, thinks there are all these weird happenings and strage explanations for what is going on in this town." He pauses, "She...does have issues with understanding what normal humans prioritize, but she has a realy good heart."

"Hmmm," is Eleanor's comment on all that. Considering the Addington's are possibly a goodly part of the reason for all the weird ass shit in Gray Harbor, she isn't surprised Atli is aware. "It's her...Grandmother? Great Aunt? I'm not sure where she falls on the family tree in relation to Margaret, that I worry more about. I'm fairly certain if that old bat doesn't approve, things don't happen in that family. Just be careful, ok?"

Lucas smiles softly, "Margaret yeah.... " He shakes his head, "Atli puts a lot of ... effort ... into keeping in Margaret's good graces, most of the Addington's do. " He sighs, "But she also has a mind of her own, and we have talked about...things. " He sighs and leans back, "You know I had the weirdest dream the other night, August was even there"

"Oh? What was it about?" Eleanor asks. She already knows. August gave her the run down of course, while she worked on healing him up. But if Lucas thinks it was just a dream, she can't point that out.

Lucas says, "It was...weird.... " He shakes his head, "We were in a beauty pagent with several other people, Katy, and the waitress from the firehouse, a pregnant girl, and " he shakes his head, "Someone else, it was all kind of a blur, " He sighs "I was juggling axes, and " He shakes his head, "and then the audience decided to rush the stage and kill us""

Eleanor barks out a little laugh. "My little brother in a beauty pageant? That was definitely a weird dream. Who won?" she asks, looking amused. "It was probably brought on by the fever from your appendix."

Lucas shakes his head, "No one won...I remember the one gal trying to get the crown and being chased by a man, and then I picked up the man with the force and threw him across the stage and floated the crown to Faith...and then... " He sighs reaching up to touch his head, "Then I woke up to my old baby sitter making out with me"

That gets a few rapid blinks from Eleanor. "W-what?" she asks, in regards to the babysitter business. Then she realizes, "Oh! Stephanie? The paramedic? She found you on the floor? Oh my GOD Lucas, mouth to mouth is not making out!"

Lucas grins big, "you have your dreams, I have mine" He winks, "I am not sure how an appendix leads to cardiac arrest though" he looks confused at that part.

Ellie's brain ticks over a few times, formulating a plausible excuse. "Lot's of things could contribute. Your heart is basically a bioelectric motor. It doesn't take a whole lot to throw it off. Fever, infection, drug use, low potassium." She shrugs. "But you're ok now, and that's the important thing."

Lucas nods again and sighs, "I just...its so...strange." He shakes his head and looks out the window, "Sometimes I wish that I had your ability to pretend like science fiction is real, it would make things make more sense...."

Eleanor gives him a wan smile. "Not everything about the things I believe is sunshine and rainbows, little brother. A lot of it is downright horrifying. Some things I wish I could forget, honestly. But it is what it is." She sighs and looks out the window from her seat. "Sorry if August hasn't dropped by. He has some PTSD relating to hospitals since one collapsed on top of him overseas."

Lucas smailes and shakes his head, "It's ok, just because he was in my dream is no reason for me to expect him to visit me. Katy hasn't been by either and she was playing the puppet master in my dream..." he sighs, "I am more concerned about Atli not visiting, we were supposed to meet up yesterday and I stood her up, he cousin was going to try to get word to her to let her know it wasnt my fault."

"Well he is going to be your brother in law in a few months and all, so you know, family visits family." Ellie smiles and gets a little wistful at thinking about her future wedding. She makes a small sound at his standing Atli up. "If she cares about you as much as you say, she will more than understand."

Lucas chuckles and smiles, "Yeah well, I guess I should spend more time with him. If he makes you happy Ellie, I am happy" He leans back in the bed, "I have this really off image of him apparently if my dreams are any indicator"

"August is a complex man, with many layers and many sides. I love every one of them. He really does make me happy," Eleanor confesses. "But you need to get some rest so they'll let you out of here soon, Lucas. I put some puzzle books in that basket with the pastries." She gets up and moves to plant a kiss on top of her brother's head. "You gonna be all right?"

Lucas smiles, "I'll be fine, Ellie...I mean it's just appendicitis, little kids survive it all the time, I am sure theyll let me out soon" He sips his chocolate and chuckles at the kiss, "I will be back in your hair in no time"

"Love you kiddo. If they don't let you out tomorrow I'll drop by again so you can scream about it to a friendly ear," she promises. Then she heads out.
