(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: Do you like saxophone music?
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:Also, hello. I hope your day is going well.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Depends, I'm not a soprano sax soft rock kinda guy, but I like jazz and big band and all that kind of stuff. Also, hi π
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:There is a man that plays on the Boardwalk. I think you would like him. And his music. It reminds me of speakeasies and swing dancing.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak:You know I haven't actually been to the boardwalk? Want to go?
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: I would love to. I don't get the chance to go often. There is lots to do there.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Been to the ones in New York, they're fun. Oh man. I bet I could mess with the ring-toss guy.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Those games are rigged. The ones where you toss the ring on the milk bottles, the ring is too light and the bottles packed in too tight to land the ring most of the time. But I could land it every time. π
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: You could! And then you could win one of those giant stuff animals they never want to give away.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Yeah the ones they use as bait to lure you in to impress your date.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: You can tell I'm a musician, that rhymed
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: Hah! I liked it. Rhymes can be fun. What is your favorite animal? Besides Iris.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak:You haven't met my other reptile, but she's my favorite. Reticulated python. Her name is Lemondrop.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak:((A picture comes through of Itzhak holding a snake several feet long and as thick as a fire hose. She's white and brilliant yellow. Itzhak is grinning like a proud new father.))
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: How about you?
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:She's very pretty! Lemondrop is a good name. Maybe I can meet her some time. I guess, Luigi is my favorite specific animal. I'm teaching him French. It is a slow process.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: But my favorite is frogs.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Absofrikkinlutely you can meet her. She lives at the shop, there's no room in my place for her
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: You like frogs and you speak French, and Luigi is your favorite animal. You're really cute.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: Then I will get to see your shop too. Two birds with one stone!
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: (After a longer period, a little video comes through of Luigi in his cage. Isolde is heard speaking a couple simple words in French and encouraging Luigi to do the same. However, the most she gets is him doing his little laugh, and also one time singing a bit of the Mario Brother's Theme song)
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: Like I said...slow going. And. Thank you. You are cute too.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak:Wow. That's adorable.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Ahhh you're making me blush calling me cute.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:If it makes you feel better, I am blushing too π
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: My mom is French. So I learned it from her.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: There's a lot I want to learn about you.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Hey, I have a dumb question though. .
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:There are very few questions that are actually dumb. Go ahead π
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak:Please don't take this the wrong way. Have you gone out with someone before?
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: I havenβt.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:Only because I've never been in one place long enough.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:And I weird most people out.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Okay. How about, being physical with someone, ever done that?
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:Not very recently, but yes. I have. Plenty of times.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: That sounds bad. Not like A LOT of times. But. Enough times.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Hey, however many times! It's not a thing, don't worry about that.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: It is rather low on the list of things one should worry about, I agree. I will try not to π
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: God, if I told you how many times...I don't even know. Anyway. This is awkward isn't it? It's awkward.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:I have learned that things are only awkward if you make them awkward. If we were face to face it might be a little more awkward. But, I understand the concerns. Sort of. I know how people see me.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: Not that you see me like that. But. Like. In general.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: I'm really good at making things awkward. You should know that about me, that I'm autistic. I mentioned it, but, it means I have conversations like this.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak:Another guy would be able to figure it out, I have to ask.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: Asking questions is good. It leads to clear answers. I don't mind conversations like this. I've had plenty of weird conversations. With people. With myself. With objects. Animals. Do you like the color yellow?
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Love the color yellow. It feels good in my eyes. Do you have a favorite color?
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: I am glad to hear that. Mine? I like purple. Like. Sunset purple. It's a pretty color .
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak:You'll like my car, it's purple.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak:((A picture of a sleek Corvette Stingray, in a deep plum purple, red glittery highlights shining where the light hits it. Overall quite flashy.))
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: I do like it! And it glitters! I like working on the lavender farm because of all the different purples. ((She attaches a picture of one of the fields, Firefly Forest in the distance. A variety of purple lavender plants ready to be harvested))
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Does it glitter like me?
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: Not quite. Your glitter is special. Like, I can tell it isn't a natural kind of glitter. And it's iridescent.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak:I like that. I like iridescence.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Look at all that lavender, damn
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: You should come and see it in person some time. Before the season is over
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: I'd love to actually. Think I could send some home to my ma? .
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:Sure you can!
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:Does your mom live in New York?
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Yep, her and my sister and niece.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: I hope you get to visit them again sometime. I haven't seen my family in. A long time.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Whyβs that?
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:Sometimes I have to remind myself that they're real. It's complicated. Too complicated to write. But I left when I was 16. Never went back. Safer for them if I stay away.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak:You sound sad about that.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: It is a sad thing.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:Anyway. Sorry. I made it weird this time. When do you want to go to the Boardwalk?
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: It's not weird. I'm sorry for making you sad.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak:Are you free tomorrow?
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:You didn't make me sad. I am free, yes
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Let's go tomorrow. Maybe tonight you'd like to have dinner?
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: Dinner? I would like dinner very much.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: : I will save the yellow dress for the Boardwalk still though.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: π Want to go out? Or I could cook.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde: What do you like to cook?
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak: Nothing fancy, just regular home stuff. I could make lemon roasted chicken and potatoes, make a salad. Are you a vegetarian?
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:I am not. That all sounds very good. Let's do that.
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:I tried to cook once and it did not go well.I haven't tried again yet.
(TXT to Isolde) Itzhak:My ma taught me. I can teach you some. It's not any harder than repairing a door, and you're a pro at that. π
(TXT to Itzhak) Isolde:That could be fun. I think my try would have been fine if the bad things hadn't interrupted. But. I would like to learn a few things from you. You are a good teacher.
