Glimmer is Gold- Before Isolde left town she had recently come into her Glimmer powers. Her shine is strong but her abilities themselves are still relatively weak. Maybe she just hasn't been using them.
Returning- Isolde left in the Spring with minimal notice and the reasoning was vague aside that she was going back to Portland. Why she would choose to come back to the place that seemed hellbent on keeping her crazy is anyone's guess.
Frogs - Isolde has one obsession and it is frogs. She adores them. Her house has a bunch of frog decorations. She has a frog charm bracelet she is never seen without, and she may or may not have at least one tree frog tattoo. There is a special area she has set aside in her A-Frame for a terrarium that will one day be filled with tree frogs
Origami - Origami is another past time that Isolde enjoys. It's a good distraction and it keeps her hands busy. Sometimes she'll make little figures for people she likes or just because and randomly leave them in public places for random people to retrieve if they want.
Art History - Isolde is taking online classes pursuing a degree in Art History. It's a relatively recent venture that she's started on but she's happy to talk about the subject.
“Keep Portland Weird”. This was never a problem for Isolde. Born to Evan Morrison -a web developer- and Rochelle Morrison - a social worker -, she was a bright child but there was always something a little off. Like a shadow hovering two steps behind her. Isolde couldn’t tell you her first encounter with the Veil. Only that she was very young when it happened. Specifics in general are hard for her to recall these days. There were instances of walking off to school and ending up on the fringes of Forest Park. Falling asleep in bed and waking up on the front porch. As she got older, there were voices that became more prevalent. Steal the nail polish. Steal the wallet. Stab the motherfucker. Thoughts that got increasingly more violent as they were allowed to run on. Seeing people and things that weren’t there. Glimpses of strange lands. Her dreams as restless as her waking life.
Fearing for their child’s safety, Isolde was put into a psychiatric care center for observation. Put on a cocktail of medicine and for the first time in a long time, she felt there might be some peace.The voices started to fade, the nightmares, the random teleporting. She woke up in the same bed she fell asleep in. Maybe she really had just been crazy. After a year, she was let go. Seemingly improved. Every now and then there was still a strange dream or two but they were tame enough that the doctors weren’t worried.
Isolde left the ward at 15. By the time she was 16 she was backing a duffel bag and getting the hell out of dodge. The moment she wasn’t constantly being monitored 24/7 everything started trickling back. The medicine helped sometimes, but maybe she just had to get away. She had no idea how she would get to wherever she was heading next - but she had to try. This time of running is when Isolde came to have a better understanding of what plagued her. The Veil and it’s oddities. She learned to use it to slip between places, get away from danger...or the law. She rarely ended up where she wanted - but the important thing was that she was away.
Arrive in a new city. Find a new source of income. Find a new supplier of medication. All of these things tended to be on the less than legal side of the spectrum. Isolde spent more times in jail cells and psych wards than she’d like to admit. Short stints. Brief bouts of peace. More than once she’d been tempted to stay put - try and get a longer sentence even. But in the end, Isolde knew that was impossible. In the end, she was always escaping the bonds. Literally and figuratively. Then, of course, there were the Dark Men. Hounding her. They always seemed to be hot on her trail. Isolde has slowly come to the realization that it's an endless cycle. She uses the Veil to get out of a bad situation and sooner or later the Dark Men start appearing. And she starts trying to out run them. It hasn't always worked.
Isolde’s travels have finally brought her to Grey Harbor. So close to home...and still so far away. She isn’t sure how long she’s in Grey Harbor for, but she can feel the energy it gives off. So it’s surely not going to be a boring stay.
Isolde stands at 5'8 with clear green eyes and dark brown hair. She is often found wearing comfortable clothing in the form of jeans and t-shirts. Occasionally dresses or skirts and blouses when it's called for. She's a far cry from the woman she was when she first stumbled into Gray Harbor. She might still be crazy, but if she is? She hides it well. Her demeanor is friendly and she is always seen wearing a charm bracelet that has a series of frog charms on it
