Text

(TXT to August) Alexander: August.
(TXT to Alexander) August: what's up
(TXT to August) Alexander: So many things. Probably about to piss off Addingtons. But. Not your problem. How are you healing?
(TXT to Alexander) August: piss off addingtons? look if you're going to that museum smash any lamps you see. same yourself some grief.
(TXT to August) Alexander: You can't smash the antiques, August. ::frowny face:: They are ANTIQUES.
(TXT to August) Alexander: But we have our own problems. You, I, and Itzhak. We overdid it. Somehow.
(TXT to Alexander) August: I'm back to normal, just needed a day to relax. Ellie came and took care of me. how about you.
(TXT to August) Alexander: I'm good. Need to find a way to thank Miss Celaeno. And apologize for being a grumpy asshole.
(TXT to Alexander) August: lamps that try to kill me revoke their sacred protections as antiques. (de la vega can vouch for me on this.)
(TXT to Alexander) August: ?? overdid what
(TXT to August) Alexander: It's Gray Harbor. Everything will try to kill you eventually, August. And our experiment. We, uh. We broke things. Far away.
(TXT to Alexander) August: give her useful info about breaking her family curse.
(TXT to Alexander) August: kidding. (sort of)
(TXT to August) Alexander: :hmm. I'll look into it.
(TXT to August) Alexander: Someone at Bayside Apartments picked up on our conversation, a small bit of it. And then, apparently, several days later, people's medicine cabinets kinda exploded.
(TXT to Alexander) August: uh. hm. that's new, but I'd also never tried using power at a distance. what did we break?
(TXT to Alexander) August: interesting. so sort of like a shockwave. or an aftershock. or a leak...well, now we know, I guess. have to be careful using that kind of technique.
(TXT to August) Alexander: Yeah. Doesn't seem like anyone was hurt, at least. But collateral damage definitely appears to be a possibility.
(TXT to Alexander) August: well that's good at least. might be something to use outside of living areas. or over There.
(TXT to August) Alexander: Maybe. Do you think I should tell Itzhak? He was so excited.
(TXT to Alexander) August: I think he'd rather know than not know. anyways we don't know if it's something we can't sort out. not a deal breaker.
(TXT to August) Alexander: Yeah. That makes sense. I just don't want us to hurt people by accident. Can't stop thinking about what might have happened if we'd picked, I dunno, kitchen implements to practice with. Knives exploding on people.
(TXT to Alexander) August: yeah. hey now we can warn people to be careful. I'd rather that than they find out in a way like you just described.
(TXT to August) Alexander: True. I think Thorne things I'm purposefully ruining his life, now, though. I'm not. I don't think.
(TXT to August) Alexander: Thinks. Not things.
(TXT to Alexander) August: isn't he rich? he can deal, it's just a bunch of aspirin bottles.
(TXT to August) Alexander: He hasn't had a good month. Gray Harbor shit will give anyone a headache, but especially someone trying to keep things stable. If your plants started turning into monsters, you'd probably be a bit snappy, too.
(TXT to Alexander) August: I guess that's true. but then I'd chuck them over There and make new ones. (and you're personally ruining his life like you said it's just GH nonsense he can't blame that on any one person.)
(TXT to Alexander) August: you're not either
(TXT to August) Alexander: I know I'm not. I just worry at things, sometimes. Sorry. But you're right. We can probably figure out a way to mitigate the hazards. Or at least predict them.
(TXT to Alexander) August: not unreasonable to worry around here if we're being honest. also prepare for more vegetables, I have more than I now what to do with.
(TXT to Alexander) August: (know)
(TXT to August) Alexander: Oh! More eggplants would be nice. I have been taught how to make eggplant lasagna. Which is tasty, and will probably be better once I don't fuck it up. I've just been cutting the cucumbers up for snacks. I don't know what to do with the other ones, but they're all delightful. Thank you for them.
(TXT to Alexander) August: not a problem. when the zucchini comes in I don't hardly know what to do with it. plenty more eggplant and cucumber where those came from.
(TXT to August) Alexander: Do you just grow all of this stuff for? Why DO you grow all of these things?
(TXT to Alexander) August: it kind of just happens around me. my garden's really productive, let's say. and I try not to buy things I can catch or hunt myself. but it's just me so lots of extra in the veggie and egg department.
(TXT to August) Alexander: You hunt, too?
(TXT to Alexander) August: yeah--dove and rabbit off season, and I fish. trade with some of the local farmers for lamb here and there, I have birds and goats.
(TXT to August) Alexander: You grow and hunt, run a successful business, and managed to moderate friendships among a variety of somewhat high-strung individuals. You are ferociously competent, August Roen.
(TXT to Alexander) August: eh business wouldn't be shit without Cy and my people. also I've got no kids you'd be amazed how much time abd energy that gives you at my age. but thank you. if we wind up with extra meat from this season you're welcome to some.
(TXT to August) Alexander: Cy? And your people. Is that Miss Celaeno and the other one? De Santos? You SURE you don't have kids? ::smiley face:: But I'd pay you for the meat. And the additional veggies. Favors in return, if you don't want cash. But something.
(TXT to Alexander) August: Cy's effectively my business partner, he wanted to limit his liability though so by majority it's mine. Finch, Ignacio, Thoma, Ully, Jendy. once school fires back up I'll have to find two more until next summer, Jen and Ully are students.
(TXT to Alexander) August: eh I didn't have to put 'em through HS so I got the easy half. ::beer:: no need for money, favors is fine if you want. I'd just have to compost the veggies if I couldn't find another recipient.
(TXT to August) Alexander: I want. It makes me feel useful. Although I don't know how often you have need of an investigator. We'll work something out. ::smiley face::
(TXT to Alexander) August: in this town? you'd be surprised...and will do.
(TXT to August) Alexander: Good. Thank you for talking with me, August. Texting. Whatever.
(TXT to Alexander) August: sure thing. and, you too. say hi to Isolde and her frog for me.
(TXT to August) Alexander: I will. She's very fond of the frog.
